Back on Your Feet, Get Well Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card was made using the "Back on Your Feet" set.  I found this card on the internet and I made a few changes to it.  You can see the original card here.  I had some trouble finding card using this cute sloth.  He's not the favorite in the set so maybe that's why.  But I did find this card so I thought I would play with it and see what I end up with.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock.  And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder.  It gives the card stock the look of linen.

I stamped the sloth using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.  I colored him in using by first using the light Crumb Cake Blends pen and then using the dark in the darker areas of the image.  I discovered that if you color the image using the finer tip end you get even a lighter shade of the color. So I colored the sloth in using the pen part.  Then I came in with the brush part and for the body parts closest to the branch, I used the Crumb Cake dark Blends pen. I colored the branch in using the dark Soft Suede Blends pen.  And the leaves were colored in using the Old Olive light and dark Blends pens.  I die cut the image using the largest oval "Stitched" die.  I die cut a large scalloped oval using Mossy Meadow card stock.  The words are from the same "Back on Your Feet" set and I stamped them on a scrap piece of Whisper White using black Memento ink.  I die cut them with the oval die and I also die cut a scalloped oval for the border. When I cut the large scalloped oval, I set the small scalloped oval in the center and cut both at the same time.  I added Dimensionals to both the sloth piece and the words.

I punched out some leaves using the "Leaf" punch on Mossy Meadow and Old Olive card stock.

I cut a strip of Designer Series Paper from the "Perennial Essence" 12" x 12" paper pack. This strip measures 1" x 5".  I taped the strip in place about 1/2" from the edge of the embossed piece.

I set the ovals in place using Dimensionals.  I slipped the leaves in behind the ovals. I used glue to hold them in place.  And that was it.  All in all it was a very easy and fun card to make.  But I have to admit that the turtle is my favorite image in the set.  I will try to use this little guy at least one more time.  I need to be fair about it.

Edited 1-16-2020.  The DSP is from the Magnolia Lane pack and not the Perennial Essence pack. Thank you Kathy for letting me know.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

The sloth is my favorite in this set, then the giraffe. It's good that we are all different! I love your card so much that I am going to copy it exactly if that's okay. I'll be happy to give you credit on my blog post.

Felt I should mention that your strip of patterned DSP is actually Magnolia Lane, not Perennial Essence. I have both and had to check the AC to make sure. Love the card!

Thank you Kathy for the update on the DSP. The piece was probably put in the wrong package.
