Colorful Season, Greeting Card

I did not have time today to make a card so I am going to share a card I made at a Card Buffet last month.  If you are not familiar with what a card buffet is, well I will tell you.  First you find a seat to sit and that is your space the entire time, no moving from table to table.  Then you pick a tote that has a card that is of interest to you.  In that tote is everything you need to make that card.  All of the card stock is cut, the ink pads are in there along with the accessories needed to make that card.  So, this is one of the cards I chose.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Blush Bride card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral.  And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.

First I stamped the branched using Soft Suede ink.  Then I added the flowers using Calypso Coral and Blushing Bride.  The words are from the same "Colorful Season" set. They were stamped using Soft Suede ink. Pearls were added to the flowers and that was it.

It was a pretty simple card and very fun to make.

Card Buffet Quality Christmas Card!

I had gotten an Archiver's magazine/brochure in the mail the other day and as I was looking through it my eye caught this one card sample.  I LOVED the layout and as I was looking at it I thought I could use Stampin' Up! supplies to make one similar.

The original card had used some bakers twine and it was tied across the card like I did with the Real Red ribbon and their ornament was up a bit higher on the card and had that twine attached to it as well.

I did have the twine but I didn't think it worked well with my decorative paper so I used the ribbon instead.

This is a remarkably easy and quick card to make.  The embossing took about the longest and we all know embossing just one image like this doesn't take long at all.  That gives you an idea as to how quick and easy this card is to make.  It would be a great card for a swap or a Card Buffet!

I am adding this to my pile of Christmas cards I will be packaging up this year since I am all done with our Christmas cards.  All but signing them, addressing them and sending them out.  I am done making them!!

Be sure to stop back and check out the fun Blog Candy I will have here in a few days!!!  I LOVE celebrating!
