A Swirly Bird Sliding Star Congratulations Card

Today I'm going to share with you yet another spinner card. I can't emphasize enough how quick and simple these are to make.  I LOVE the "Swirly Bird" set for the images and the words and the "Sliding Star" Framelits for the template for the spinner.

For this card I stamped the moon image all over the Soft Sky card stock using Soft Sky ink.  Then I stamped the earth and colored it in. I punched it out with a circle punch and taped it in place, flat on the center circle.  I added some bling after assembling it.

I have some helpful tips in making these cards, you can find them here

Like I said, these are super easy to make and fun to play with. Once you complete one, you test it to make sure it spins. If you didn't get the foam tape too close on the back side it should spin fine.  Then you will spend a few minutes spinning it because it's not only fun but addictive!!!  LOL

I highly recommend this bundle!!

A Sliding Star Shooting Star Congratulations Spinner Card

I had such a fun time playing with the spinner cards.  The "Sliding Star" set is SO much fun. There's lots of fun images to play with.

Here I used the shooting star. I stamped the other two smaller stars in the set using Versa Mark and I embossed them in gold.

Then I used the arched die to make the spinner opening.  I added the foam tape to the back and then I made my penny sandwich.  You can use washers but pennies are cheaper.

I added the star using a Dimensional and slipped the pennies in place and it was ready to roll!

The earth image was also in the set.  I just stamped it and colored it in.  I wanted to set it in place with a Dimensional but I couldn't because it would sit up too high and the spinning image would get caught on it, so I had to tape it on flat.  But I did set the words in place with Dimensionals.

You can find some fun tips to make these cards here.  Having the Framelits for the spinner openings makes it SO much easier to create some very fun spinner cards!!

A Kinda Eclectic Norther LightsTechnique Card

Here is another fun "Northern Lights" technique. This is such an easy technique with a wonderful effect. The only way you can mess this technique up is to add too much black at the end. And once you start adding the black you will know when to quit!  Give it a try.

The stamp used here for the starburst is from the "Kinda Eclectic" set.  I'm not sure what set the words are from.  I'll have to look that one up later.

This card was made by Juliann from Terri's Technique Night group.  I had participated in the swap and this is one of the fabulous cards I received!!!

Click here for more information on how to do the "Northern Lights" technique!  It's a great You Tube tutorial.

Fabulous Four Birthday Card

I suppose this card could serve as more than just a birthday card.  With these words, it could also be a congratulations card, a thank you card, and even a thinking of you card.  Any occasion that needs celebrating!  I just thought of it as a birthday card!

This card was another that we made at Terri's FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack.  I had such a great time and made SO many fun cards!

There was another set that Stampin' Up! called Fabulous Four.  I remember there were 4 stamps in the set.  One of them was a bunch of rings.  I made wedding cards with it.  It's odd that they would use the same name on their newer sets.  They should Google the names before the put it on the new set!!!  I'm going to Google it and see what the other 3 images were in that set.   I couldn't wait, I just Googled it and found that I was right, there are now 2 sets with the same name.  The first set also had Leaves, Diaper Pins, and Presents along with the rings image.

Okay, onto my fun card!  The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Crushed Curry card stock.  The decorative paper is called Birthday Bash.  I think I'm going to have to get that paper, it's SO festive looking!!!

The words were stamped using Bermuda Bay ink.  The Scalloped Tag topper punch was used on the word piece and 3/8" Tango Twist satin ribbon was tied to the end of the tag.  The tag was taped in place on top of the decorative paper.  And that was it.  Super cute, super easy, and super fun!!!

Morning Meadow

I was attempting to make a congratulations card for a friend and I smeared the tip of the flower so this card will either have to be redone or I will have to make a different one.

I used the Christmas Washi tape here.  I looked in the mini catalog to see what color the Washi tape was but I didn't find it, so I tried matching colors.  It looked like it was Raspberry Ripple so I ran with it.

I colored in the flowers with Raspberry Ripple, the leaves with Wild Wasabi and the stems with Soft Suede.

I added a couple of the candy dots to the Washi tape and that was it.  Super simple, just remember to let the ink dry before you touch it!  Lesson learned!

Six Sided Sampler Card

I was looking for a fun card using the "Six Sided Sampler" set and I found one at Becky's "Scrappin' and Stampin'" blog.  I thought it looked like a fun card to make.  The only think I didn't like was making sure the stamp was dry before I moved on to the next color.  Now this would be a great card to make several of.  That way they stamp would be dry because you would stamp one color and punch it out and then move on to the next and by the time you needed that image again it would be dry.  But I didn't make more than one card so I had to take extra care in making sure the image was dry.

With that said I will move on to how this fun card was made.  The base of the card is a half sheet of Whisper White cardstock with a 1/4 trimmed sheet on top.  The hexagons were stamped in the following colors, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Basic Black and Elegant Eggplant.  Once they were stamped I punched them out and added Dimensionals behind each one.  I tried to follow how they were placed by looking at the original card.  I stamped the words and used the "Bitty Banners" die to cut it out.  Then I also cut out two of those pieces in Basic Black and lined them up behind the word piece, one above and one below.  I thought it gave the layer some nice depth.

Next I taped the 1/4 trimmed piece to the card base.  And when went to set the word piece in place I saw that I had the card upside down.  GRRRR.  But it did turn out okay anyway so I'm not going to whine about it too much.  It's been a long time since I've made an upside down card!!!  And I wasn't even drinking!! LOL

This was a very fun card to make and I can see myself making more of this card!  It's so bright and cheery and can be used for several occasions.

Off the Grid meets Gingham Garden Washi Tape

This has to be one of my most favorite cards that I have made lately.  I LOVE the colors and I LOVE the Washi tape.  I found this card at Amy's Paper Craft's.  I feel like I have camped out at her blog lately!!! LOL

This card was extremely simple to do.  First I stamped the grid image from the "Off the Grid" set.  Then I sprayed it with a mix of Strawberry Slush and rubbing alcohol.  You're suppose to use a higher percent of alcohol, not the 70%.  I had read that somewhere a while back.  I think that was for the spraying.  Well, I didn't have the higher percent of rubbing alcohol so I just used what I had.  I think it worked out fine.  I got the effect I was looking for and it dried almost instantly.  I did give it two sprays.  Probably a little more than it needed but it's ok, I still like it.  And I could make a lot more cards like this because I mixed up a whole little bottle of the spray! LOL  I don't know what I was thinking.  But it's ok, it's not like it's so expensive that you can't empty the bottle out.

Next I stamped the words.  I wanted to make sure the spray was completely dry before I added the tape.  The words are from the "Express Yourself" Hostess set.  Then I punched out the flowers and taped them together.  I added a Candy dot to the center and a Dimensional to the back.  Now I was ready to add the Washi tape.  I just set the tape down on the paper and rolled off what I needed and tore it.  Only two of the 3 tapes in the pack were used here.

Isn't it a fun card?  I don't know if it's the Strawberry Slush on the Whisper White that is making me really like this card or if it's the sprayed background.  That is where my eyes go when I look at it.  But it doesn't matter, I like the card and that's what's important, right?
