Sending Cheer, Joy of Christmas, Christmas Tag, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a gift tag to share with you. I found the tag at "Kards by Kadie". I was in need of a tag and I remembered how much I liked hers that she posted a few days ago. And I also remembered I have not used that die from the "Sending Cheer" bundle. So today I got the stuff out to make it. Please read on to see how I made the tag.

My tag is from the "Tailor Made" die set. I used the largest one with the angled top edges.  Then I stamped the "to and from" from the "Sending Cheer" bundle. I stamped them using black Memento ink.

Next I cut a piece of Real Red card stock that measured 2-1/4" x 2". I taped that to the front of the tag.

Then the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Joy of Christmas" 12" x 12" package. It measured 2" x 2".  I taped that to the Real Red card stock leaving a border on each end.

The hat was die cut from the "Sending Cheer" bundle using Real Red card stock and the fluff on the hat was die cut from a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I glued the fluff pieces to the hat. Before I added Dimensionals to the back of the hat I took a tiny scrap piece of copier paper (any paper will do) and added a bit of glue around the hole in the cap on the backside. The scrap piece was added. The Real Red dot that came out of the hole was glued in place and the hat was now ready for Dimensionals. Once they were added (not on the puff at the end of the hat) I set the hat in place on the tag and the tag was done.

This was fun, quick and easy to make and it's too bad that I only needed one because I could make a bunch of these in no time.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas tag,

Penguin Place, Gift Tags, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was in need of a couple of gift tags. I didn't want to run out to the store and buy more. Like I'd find any this late in the month anyway.  I could have gone online and found some to download but if I'm going to download, print and cut, I might as well just make my own!  So here they are.

I used the retired "Scalloped Tag Topper" punch. I didn't have anything current that would look cute. And it really didn't matter, it's not like the tag is going to be saved and cherished for all eternity! LOL   I punched a 2" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock. I cut and punched two, one of Fresh Freesia and one of Soft Sea Foam card stocks.

The Basic White tags were cut at 3" x 1-1/2".  I was careful to try to get the piece inside the punch equally on both sides.

I took a scrap piece of the Fresh Freesia snowflake Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package and the Soft Sea Foam trees too.  I cut them at 2" x 1-3/4" each. I taped them to the bottom of each large tag.

Then I took some DSP that had the penguins sitting and I punched them out using the "Penguin Builder" punch. I added Dimensionals behind them. I set them on the Basic White tags but didn't affix them. I needed to see where the words were going to go.

I set the words up in my Stamparatus. I needed to mask off part of the words on the stamp so only the "Be Merry" were exposed.  Then I inked it up with Soft Sea Foam ink and stamped the words.  I headed back to my cutting board because I forgot to remove the post it tape I had covering the words I didn't want.  UGH.  So I got the one done for the Fresh Freesia tag.  For the second tag, I managed to mess that one up too. And again, UGH!  Back to the cutting board.  I actually messed it up twice.  The third time was a charm, right?  Wrong. I had taken out the Mint Macaron ink thinking that might have been what I needed but it wasn't.  Not looking, I grabbed it and stamped the words.  I decided to just use them. Again, it's not like the tags are going to be saved!

Next I affixed the penguins.  Then I grabbed some white Baker's Twine and some ribbons and threaded them through both tags at the same time. I looped them through the opening from front to back and slipped the ends through the loops and pulled.  I trimmed the ends and the tags were done.  I probably could have gone to and come back from the store quicker than it took me to make these with all the mistakes!!! LOL But they are done. They are homemade and as soon as I get done typing this, they will be on a couple of packages!

They were fun to make (excluding the mistakes). I like how they look and I love the colors.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Christmas tags,

Signs of Santa, Santa's Workshop, Christmas Gift Tag

It's time to take a break from making cards so I could make some much needed gift tags. These were fun to make too. All I need to do is add the string or ribbon and it's ready for the package!

The base of this tag is a scrap piece of Real Red card stock. I stamped it using black Memento ink on the "Buffalo Check" background image.  When I made more of these, I used a 4" x 4" piece of card stock so I could get two with one stamping.  I find some background stamps difficult to work with.

I used the "Scalloped Tag Topper" punch on one end of the tag.

Next I cut a piece of Crumb Cake card stock 2-3/4" x 1-3/4".  I used the white chalk marker and made dots on the piece. I taped this to the tag.

I die cut the elf from the "Santa's Workshop" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  I cut this little guy from the paper first using a scissors. I didn't want to go to my cutter to do this because I would end up cutting through another image that I want to use on a different tag or card in the near future.  In rough cutting this little guy out I had a couple of small fuzzy snowflakes with it. I did fussy cut those out but they were easy because it was all straight cutting and just snipping.  I die cut the elf and set him in place on the Crumb Cake piece using Dimensionals.

I found a Dazzling Diamonds snowflake in my stash. Oh, who am I kidding, it was on my worktable under a bunch of stuff!!! LOL  I set that snowflake in place in the upper left corner using a small glue dot.  I also set the other two snowflakes in place using glue dots.

I punched out the banner from the "Duet Banners" punch using Whisper White card stock.

The words are from the "Signs of Santa". I stamped it using black Memento ink.  I set that banner in place using Dimensionals.  I regret it now because it's more difficult to write a name on it.  Fortunately I didn't put all of my tags together yet, just this one so I could show you today.

And for a final touch I added a rhinestone to the upper left snowflake and the tag was done.  Cute isn't it?

A Big Day Birthday Tag

I found some fun birthday tags at Amy's Paper Crafts.  I thought it would be fun to make one for my sister's birthday gift bag.  Not instead of a card but just to have a fun and colorful tag on the bag.

I used Pumpkin Pie for my colors here.  Mostly because I had some Pumpkin Pie ribbon and thought I would use it.  The gift bag is white, so it didn't matter what color I used.

I used the "Big Day" Sale a Bration set.  It's a fun set that I had only used the one image from.  And today I used 3 more!!!  I'm on a roll!! LOL

I liked the tag that Amy had made and I just had to make one.  I LOVE this tag punch and I think I'm going to be making a lot of my own Christmas tags this year.  If I plan the paper right (2" wide) I can print out the "to and from " on the computer and just cut, punch and stamp away!!!  I should be able to get about 8 tags from one sheet of card stock.  Not bad at all!!  I'll work on that and if I get it right I may post it so you can download it and make your own Christmas tags too!  That's a big if right now, I've got a million things going on and time is eluding me!!!

Anyway, back to this fun tag.  I set the cake circle in place with Dimensionals.  I love it too, that you can add more than one candle on the cake.  I may even make a tag for my granddaughter's 2nd birthday!!!

I used a strip of Pumpkin Pie decorative paper at the bottom.  Another reason to save those tiny scraps.  But no, my piece isn't from a scrap.  I don't often save them that small.

This was a very fun and quick tag to make!!  I can't wait to see what new Christmas stamps Stampin' Up! comes out with that would fit in a 2" circle so I can make tags.  Though I do have a lot of retired ones that I could use too, but new is always more fun!

Two Tags Die Christmas Gift Tags

I bought the "Stocking Accents" die way back in the summer in my pre-order and had not used it.  Today I ran across some cute to and from tags made by Elaine at "Elaine's Creations" and just had to make them.  And now I feel bad that I had not played with this die before now.  It was a lot of fun and the season is nearly over.  I know there is always next year but....  Oh well, at least I got to play with it, right?

These were VERY fun to make and unbelievable easy too!

Elaine's samples had ribbon for the hanging tag.  I didn't add anything yet, I'm still not sure what I want to put there.  I may just end up using some Baker's Twine.  That stuff is a lot of fun too!!

So, if you have not used your die yet, dig it out and play with it before Christmas is here!!

Four Frames Vase Tag

I am bringing some flowers to a friend tomorrow and I wanted to jazz up the vase a bit.  This is a very small vase and I didn't want a huge ribbon to overtake it.  SO I tied on a couple of pieces of Certainly Celery 1/4" grosgrain ribbon for color. Not that the flowers aren't going to have color.  I am not picking my flowers until tomorrow so the vase had to be shown empty.  I don't have time tomorrow to take a photo so you will have to imagine some very pretty daisies in the vase!  Probably about 8 of them, like I said, it's a small vase.

I used the "Four Frames" set to make my label.  I punched out some tiny flowers and centers and put them together on the label.  The words are from the "Just Believe" set.  The stamp read "just for you" but it all wouldn't fit on the label.  Ok, it did fit but it would touch the center images on the frame (both sides).  So I decided to just use the "for you" part of it and it worked out just fine!!! I colored the words with the Tangerine Tango marker and stamped it in the middle of the label.  I did not use the Stamp-a-ma-jig and was lucky!!!  I did have another label waiting in the wings in case I botched up this one!!!  I must be livin' right today!!! LOL

I punched a hole in the label and took a piece of white Baker's Twine and tied it on the vase and now it's ready for the flowers. I just have to be careful NOT to spill any water on the label after I put the flowers in!  Wish me luck there!!! LOL

Tags, Tags and More Tags!

Tag you're it!!! I found this adorable tin at Michael's right at the checkout for only $1.00. They are suppose to be used for gift cards. It's even got a plastic insert that holds the card nicely. Like I'm going to conform to something like that!!! LOL

Ok, I do have to admit that the minute I saw the tin I HAD to have it and only because it had a snowman on the outside of it!!! Ok, I not only bought one, I bought two. Gosh how you can make me confess things here!!! LOL I have plans for the other one too and I'll post that in a couple of days!!! And not the second one is not going to be used to hold a gift card either!!!

I made these cute tags using the Stampin' Up! "Tags for All" set. I had a lot of trouble with these tags. Making them was not the trouble. My trouble was in the coloring field. Did I want to color something I KNEW was going to be tossed out with the wrapping paper???? No, not really. So what I did was stamped the images using colored ink. Well, that just looked too blah. Now what to do??? Then I thought I should just stamp some in black ink on colored card stock. That would give the contents of the tin a LOT of color and it did. SO here I have a tin full of gift tags just in time for the holidays. I think I will pass this tin onto my older sister who was kind enough to lend me a brand new stamp set of hers. I've had it for a LONG time now and it's not only a "thank you" type gift but an "I'm sorry I kept your set so long" gift too!!! LOL Do you think she'll use one of the tags on a Christmas present to me??? Do you think that present will be a Stampin' Up! stamp set??? Do you think I'll even get a present from her??? LOL

I also stamped on the cover of the tin using Black Staz On ink. I colored in the snowman (see, I did color one tag!!!) using Sharpie Markers and a light blue Copic marker. I can't believe it. I've had these Copic markers for at least 5 years. I got 7 of them when they first came out. I used them when I taught stamping at a local shop. And to know that I actually have something that is still "in" is a shocker to me!!! LOL And the big shocker was that they were not dried out at all!! Hmm, they must be good markers!!! When I got them I just thought they were a nice marker in such vivid colors. Little did I know I was at the tip of something big!!! And I put them back in the pencil holder box along with the Sharpie markers and back on the shelf. LOL See how special they are??? LOL

Flaky Tags!

I know it's a bit early for Christmas things but you have to start sometime. Anyone done with their Chritmas shopping?? I would answer no to that unless I was asked that question on the 22nd or 23rd of December!!! LOL

This is a fun little tag but I'm not sure I would make too many of them to put on gifts. I mean, they're just going to toss them anyway. Maybe if the top tag was laminated then you could just use some Staz-on remover and wipe the names off and use it again and again and again until someone actually throws it away!!! LOL

I did stamp the mitten on the white piece and color it. Then I stamped another mitten and cut it out after I colored it. I set it on top of the first mitten with a dimensional. I added a little hemp and a couple of tiny clothes pins. I used the snowflake stamp from the Flaky Friends set for the background of the white piece. I taped the layers together and punched a hole in the tag and it's now ready to use (if I dare!!!). LOL

Helen left a comment on this post asking about the tag. The tag was made by hand, no punches or die cuts. If you're going to make a bunch of these, to make it go faster, just make one small one and one large one and trace them. When I made mine I used copier paper to make my rectangle. Then I folded it in half and clipped the corners on one end. Open it up and you have symmetrical corners. For the layer tag I just set the other one on top and clipped one edge (on copier paper again) and then folded it in half to get both sides symmetrical. Now you have a pattern to crank out TONS of these!!!
