Warm Hearted, Christmas Card, using Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper

It's NOT a Paper Pumpkin card!!!  I wanted to continue using the pieces in my November Paper Pumpkin kit but I know I've made and posted a lot of cards from the kit so I thought I should try something else!!!

I had this strip of red and fuzzy white striped paper from the "Santa's Workshop" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  That strip measures 1-3/8" x 4-3/4".  I don't like to throw out scraps and sometimes I actually use them! I liked this SDSP because the white is felted. It's so soft and fuzzy!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is the strip of SDSP. I layered it with a 1-1/2" x 4-7/8" piece of Poppy Parade card stock.

I die cut a Poppy Parade oval while I still had the card stock out.

I stamped the words from the "Warm Hearted" set using Poppy Parade ink on Whisper White card stock. I die cut them with an oval die. I cut the words so there was a larger space at the bottom.  I taped the two ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals. 

At the bottom of the word oval I had punched out two Old Olive card stock sprigs using the "Sprig" punch. I used glue dots to hold the two springs together and I used another glue dot to affix the springs to the Whisper White piece.  

I colored three crystal rhinestones using the Real Red Blends pen. I set them in place on the sprigs and the card was done.

It's a quick, clean and simple card.

Cauldron Bubble, Toil & Trouble, Swirly Bird, Halloween Card

I liked the "Toil & Trouble" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack and I thought the witch in it was adorable but I wasn't sure how I was going to work her into a card.  And since I rarely put my stuff away when I finish a card I saw the DSP sitting out and the "Swirly Bird" bundle still sitting out.  Last year I had made a pumpkin using the swirly die in "Swirly Bird" die set.  So I used Pumpkin Pie card stock to make the swirly pumpkin.  I glued it in place on a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.  

The base of the card is a half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5'1/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.  And the Whisper White piece with the swirly pumpkin on it was cut 3-5/8" x 4-7/8".

I die cut the cute witch from the DSP and I die cut the cat from another piece of DSP in the same package.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words using Gorgeous Grape card stock and I was done.

I thought it was a quick and easy card to make.  Plus it was fun!  I was happy that I finally got around to playing with the witch.  She looks kind of magical holding the cat like she is.

There's quite a few witches on the paper and different colors of clothing. I chose this one because she was the last full one on the piece of DSP. The other side of this piece of DSP has an orange background with tiny black cats all over it.  Sometimes it's tough to decide which side of the DSP to use! 

And this is another kid friendly Halloween card!!

Beautiful Bouquet, Wishing You Well, Birthday Card

This is a very fun, quick and easy card to make.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron card stock.  On the left side is a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of the "Frosted Floral" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP). The "Specialty" part of this paper is that it's frosted.  It doesn't show up on the photo but in person there is a very pretty soft pearly shimmer to the paper.  

I cut a 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Whisper White. I stamped the bouquet image from the  "Wishing You Well" set using Mint Macaron ink.  

I cut a piece of Mint Macaron 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" for the layer behind the stamped image.  Before I taped those two layers together, I die cut the scalloped oval from the center of the piece. Once that was cut, I taped the two layers together. I set the piece in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set using black Memento ink.  I taped the scalloped layer to the word layer and set it in place using a Dimensional on the right side and snail tape on the left. 

For the final touch I added some rhinestones to the bouquet image and I added a white Baker's twine bow to the bouquet.  And that was it.

This was a very fun card to make and I can see myself making more like this for other occasions.

Petal Palate, Mother's Day Card, Teeny Tiny Wishes, 2018 Occasions Catalog

Today's card was a very fun one to make.  I found it on Pinterest and I pretty much copied it as it was.  I'm not sure of the colors but it's close enough!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut a 2" x -4-3/4" piece of Basic Black.  On top of that is a 1-3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of crumb cake that I textured using an embossing folder.  

I die cut the branch using Old Olive.  I stamped the flowers using Calypso Coral ink. I die cut them out.  I stamped the bird using black Memento ink and die cut it out as well.  And I also die cut that lacy looking border strip at the bottom using Basic Black in,.  The branch and the lacy thing were die cut using a sticky sheet under them so they would become stickers and easy to place.

I stamped the words from the soon to retire "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. I was kind of sad to see this set go, but I saw on the internet somewhere what is replacing it and I was pleased!!!  Though I may hang onto this set for a while longer.  I do like how it covers every occasion.  

I had also die cut a stitched circle using Whisper White card stock.

To assemble this card, I taped the Whisper White layer in place.  Then I taped the black and Crumb Cake layers together.  I taped them in place on the left side of the card.  Then I stuck the lacy looking piece in place.  I taped the circle in place and then the branch piece on top of that.  I added the flowers using Dimensionals and a tiny pearl to the center of each one.

I colored the bird with a blender pen and Calypso Coral ink. I set the bird in place using Dimensionals.  

I punched the words and set them in place with Dimensionals.  I added three larger pearls to the background and the card was done.

I thought it was such a pretty card!

Petal Palette, Mother's Day Card

Okay, I was right.  The guilt got to me. I could not give my mom that messy card I made yesterday.  So I went back to the drawing board and created this card for her. One I'm much more proud to give to her!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Rich Razzleberry.  And the focal piece was cut 3-3/4" x 5".

I stamped the larger flower set and die cut it.  I had used black Memento ink for my stamping.

I set the flower on top of the focal piece and I stamped the longer set of flowers between the 12 and 1 o'clock position.  I stamped that same image around the 9 o'clock position.  And I stamped the double flower image at between the 3 and 4 o'clock position. 

I colored them in using the Blends markers. Old Olive for the leaves and Rich Razzleberry for the flowers.  I set the center flower piece in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the soon to retire "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set. And that was it. SO much quicker than yesterdays card plus 100 times prettier!!!  And this one was much more fun to make too!!

Petal Palette, Mother's Day Card

I can't quit laughing when I look at this card.  What a mess!!! LOL  This is not what was in my head when I started making this card.  But it's SO good for a laugh.  And I'm still going to give it to my mom!!!  Unless guilt gets the best of me and I decide to make a different card.  And knowing me I probably will!!!  But I will enjoy the laughter of this one. One word describes it, "mess". LOL

I used Melon Mambo for the base of my card.  

I printed the words on the computer since I didn't have a large "Happy Mother's Day" stamp.  I stamped some flowers from the "Petal Palette" set. And I die cut some leaves using Pearl Pizzazz and some budding stems using Whisper White.  And I just assembled the mess.  I don't even know how I can improve on this!!  I am seriously shaking my head and laughing!!!  I promise tomorrow I will have a much nicer card to share with you!!

We Must Celebrate, Birthday Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I have not played much with the "We Must Celebrate" set and it's going to be retiring at the end of May.  So I thought I would make a fun birthday card using it.  I love the font that is used in that set for the happy birthday.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of "Sweet Soiree" Decorative Series Paper.  Actually it's specialty paper because it has silver foil on one side of the sheet. I didn't use that side!  Yup, spend the extra money for foil and use the flat side!! LOL

I die cut a scalloped oval (the largest one in the set of oval dies) and I die cut a Whisper White oval.  I stamped the critters and cut them out.  I colored them using the Blends pens.  The words were stamped using black Memento ink and I trimmed them to 3/8" and the Old Olive layer was cut 5/8".  

To assemble my card I taped the background piece in place.  Then I taped the oval and scalloped layers together.  I set the critters on top to see where I wanted to make a gray colored line to represent a shadow under them. I colored that line in and then I set the critters in place using Dimensionals.  I taped the oval to the card front.  I taped the word and background layer together and set them in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it. Pretty simple and cute too!!

Petal Palette, Flourishing Phrases, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

Okay, as you are looking at this card, please imagine the background being done with the "Garden Trellis" embossing folder.  Either I have misplaced mine or I don't own it.  Though I thought I had it.  Obviously I need to clean up my workroom!!!  So with that said, I'll proceed to tell you how I made this pretty card.  Yup, still on my quest to make my thank you cards.  I did make 12 of these. Well, I will have 12 later today after I finish this post!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is the Basic Black "Garden Trellis" texture. That piece measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4". 

I stamped and die cut the flowers from the "Petal Palette" set.  I colored the flowers with the Red Blends pens and the leaves with the Old Olive Blends pens. 

I die cut an oval that is about 2-1/2" long. I stamped the thank you from the "Flourishing Phrases" set using black Memento ink.  I set the oval in place using Dimensionals and I set the flowers in place using snail tape on the inner part and Dimensionals on the outer.  And that was it. It's a pretty quick and simple card to make.  Yet it's SO pretty!!!

Truly Tailored, Guy Greetings, Rose Wonder, Masculine Card, Father's Day Card

I wanted to play with the "Truly Tailored" set a few more times before it is retired.  I thought it was a fun set and a great guy set, but it will not be found in the new 2018-2019 catalog.  It makes me sad because there are not very many masculine sets as it is and this one was quick and easy to whip up cards with.  So I need to play with it a bit more in the next month plus.

This card was found on Pinterest.  I added the greetings to it and I changed the wording in the upper part as well. 

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White, which should have been Very Vanilla.  On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Tranquil Tide.  I scored that piece every 1/4". 

I took some scrap pieces of the "True Gentleman" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) and cut them into 2", 1-1/2" and 1" strips.  I didn't measure how long they were but they do need to be at least 5" long.  My middle piece was not long enough and you can't see the ribbon cut on the end.  But it's still nice looking and I'm thinking that had I not said anything, you would not have noticed!!! LOL  I taped those strips in place on the scored piece and then I trimmed them across the top.

Next I stamped the "to a classy kind of guy"image from the "Truly Tailored" set using Night of Navy ink. I fussy cut around the image closer to the inked lines.  I did that because I wanted the Night of Navy card stock layer to show.  I stamped and fussy cut a bow tie using Tranquil Tide ink.  I set it in place with cut pieces of Dimensionals.  I used my Night of Navy marker on the center of the bow tie.

I took an 8" piece of the corduroy ribbon and taped it in place on the card.  I set the word piece over it using Dimensionals. I added the Dimensionals to the ends and left the center open, I didn't want them stuck to the ribbon.

The "Happy Father's Day" is from the soon to be retiring "Guy Greetings" set. I stamped them in Night of Navy and die cut them using the die from the "Rose Wonder" bundle.  I sponged the edges and set them in place using Dimenisonals. 

I taped all the layers together and I added a piece of Very Vanilla on the inside for writing on and the card was done. It was a pretty simple card to make, even with the fussy cutting!!!

Petal Palette, Daisy Delight, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

Still making thank you cards. Though most of the cards I have been making can be made into birthday, get well, thinking of you, Mother's Day, etc.  But I am in need of a LOT of thank you cards at the moment.  I found this one on Pinterest.  I did change the card a little and I do like how it looks.  

This was a pretty quick and simple card to make and I do plan on making some more of these. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock.  On top of that is a 5-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic Black.  On top of that is a 5-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 3/4" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic Black for the strip.  On top of that strip I had die cut a the lacy looking strip from the "Petal Palette" dies. I cut it using the sticky paper so it became a sticker to set in place.

The flowers are from the "Petal Palette" set. I die cut them and colored them with the Blends markers.  There's some new ones coming in the new catalog. I'm anxious to see what the colors will be!!!  I set the flowers in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Daisy Delight" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink.  And that was it. Pretty quick and easy.

Petal Palette, Thank You Card, Telescope Panel Stamping Technique, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I have not made too many cards using the "Telescope Panel" technique. It's easy enough to do.  I had always wondered how it was done. I had done this technique several years ago and it all made sense.  There is a video that explains the technique here.  I found this card on Pinterest.  I changed the color and I didn't add the bow or the gems because I'm trying to keep the mailing costs down.

I only made one of these.  As I was making it, I thought about making two but then I remembered why I didn't like to do this technique.  It was difficult to see where to color. I struggled with the flowers in a few places but I did manage to get them all the correct colors.  It is much easier if it's done monochromatic.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock and a 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock. I used removable tape and centered the smaller piece to the larger piece.  Then I stamped the flower images, crossing over the pieces of card stock.  Once done I removed the smaller piece and cut a 2-3/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Basic Black for a layer. I colored in the images using Blends markers.  

I lined up the smaller image on top of what was left of the image on the larger piece and taped it in place.  Then I taped those layers to the card base and that was it.  Like I said, it was easy enough to do but for me, the coloring was the difficult part.  

I do like how it turned out and it goes in the pile of cards to be sent out soon!!  I need to find easier ones so I can make several of them at a time!

Petal Palette, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

Yup, I'm still working on the ton of thank you cards I need to make.  I don't want to make them all the same or I will get bored with them and no one will get a card!!!  I have made some duplicates, I have to or I won't get the cards out for a couple of month!!!

So, onto this pretty card. I can't take total credit for it, I found it on Pinterest and you can see it here.  I changed it up a little. I added the panel on the left and the words are different.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. I also layered my Decorative Series Papers (DSP) with Basic Black card stock.  The piece next to the card base was cut 3-3/4" X 5-1/2".  The DSP layer was cut 3-5/8" x 5-1/2".  The strip of Basic Black was cut 1-5/8" x 4-5/8" and the strip of DSP was cut 1-1/2" x  4-1/2".  The larger layers were just taped in place, no Dimensionals added there.  I did add Dimensionals to the long panel.

I die cut the second largest stitched circle using Whisper White card stock.  I also die cut a branch, and after stamping the bird and flower from the "Petal Palette" set I die cut them too.  I stamped the words and die cut them using the shape that came with the set/bundle.  

I colored the bird in using the Berry Burst marker and a blender pen.  I used Soft Suede and the blender pen for the top part of the bird.  The flower was stamped off once using Berry Burst ink and then die cut.  

I set the branch in place using a couple of Dimensionals.  They are placed where the bird sits and also where the flower sits.  It's such a thin branch and you don't want the Dimensionals to show.

The words were set in place with a Dimensional on the right side and just taped on top of the panel on the left side.  I added a tiny pearl to the center of the flower and that was it.

I think it's a very pretty card. It's got a lot of parts to it and that's why I only made one. I need to find a card that I can quick whip up several at one time.

Oh, I almost forgot.  The DSP is from the "Fresh Florals" 12" x 12" in color paper pack.

Myths & Magic, Magical Day, 2018 Occasions Catalog, Children's Card

This card is not quite what I had in my head but this is what came out on paper!! I was working towards a more watery looking background.  I used the "Seaside" embossing folder on some Soft Sky card stock. I dragged the Old Olive pad across the top and in a couple of spots I pressesed harder to get some ink on the non-textured parts.  I did the same with the Bermuda Bay ink pad. I taped that layer to a folded half-sheet of Marina Mist card stock.

I fussy cut the mermaid from the "Myths & Magic" Specialty paper pack.  The bubbly oval was also from that same pack.  I die cut a Bermuda Bay scalloped oval.  The ovals were taped together and the mermaid was set in place using Dimensionals.  I did take my matching, or close to matching markers and rand them along the edges where I cut so no white was showing. I should have done it on the skin, you can see the white.  Especially if you click on the photo, but I know you won't do that to look at my errors!!! LOL

I wound up some linen thread and set it in place on the card front using a glue dot.

I set the oval in place using Dimensionals and I added 3 pearls for bubbles.  It's an okay card, but not what was in my head.  It was fun to make, except for the fussy cutting but I managed to survive it with no cuts or cursing!!! LOL

I may save this card for my granddaughter.  She wants to be a mermaid when she grows up!!! LOL

Tranquil Tulips, Petal Palette, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

This is a very fun technique to do. It's called the "Eclipse" technique.  I find it more of a framed technique then an eclipse but I didn't name it, so we will call it the "Eclipse" technique.  It's super simple to do too!!!  I found this fun card on Pinterest.  I did not use the ribbon as I am sending the card in the mail and I didn't want to pay extra. I have 30 more cards to mail and it gets to be quite expensive now a days!!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of soon to be retired Rose Red card stock.  And on top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock. 

I stamped the flowers from the "Tranquil Tulips" Hostess set (soon to retire and look for it in my web store then).  I stamped them using Rose Red ink.  The leaves were stamped using Old Olive.  First stamp the leaf set of 3 stems so you know where to stamp the flowers.  I used Early Espresso ink on the flower centers.

Once the flowers were stamped I took out the second largest stitched square die and a regular square die that was 2 sizes smaller (the width of the frame is 1/4"), I set the frames together on the image and secured them with post it notes. I die cut them.  

Next I taped the stamped piece to the Rose Red piece.  I set the stitched square back in place and I added tape to the back of the center of the square and taped it in place.  I removed the stitched square piece and added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place.  See, as simple as that.

The words are from the "Petal Palette" set.  I stamped them using black Memento. I wished I had used Basic Gray, it would have been just a touch softer looking.  But I still like how it turned out. 

The original card has a Rose Red ribbon wrapped around the two top layers. I didn't have any ribbon in Rose Red, plus I am mailing my card so I needed to keep the cost of sending it down. I just taped those two layers to the card base.  This technique is a very simple and quick one.  Plus it's fun and different!!

Magical Day, Birthday Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I was very sad when I read that the "Magical Day" set did not make it into the new 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog.  It's such a fun kids set.  So I need to play with it some before now and the end of May.  

I found a fun card on Pinterest and thought I would recreate it.  I changed the colors but I kept the whole layout.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I used some retired Washi tape and taped off the right side and about 1/3rd the way up.  That line is just above the silver glitter paper line.  I sponged on some Pacific Point ink until I got the color I was looking for.  Remember, when sponging like that, your paper will be darker than you think!!  I was going for dark, so I was happy with what I got.

I stamped on some Pacific Point stars that came in the "Magical Day" set.

Next I stamped the wizard and die cut him out.  Another reason I am going to miss this set very much.  I colored him in with the Bermuda marker and a Blender Pen.  I colored his skin with Blushing Bride and the Blender Pen.  

I found a strip of the silver glitter paper, it measured just over 1/2" wide x 4" long.  I taped it in place.  I stamped the words from the "Magical Day" set using Basic Gray ink.

I set the wizard in place using Dimensionals.  I  punched out a 3/4" circle of Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper (which is retiring too) and set it in place using a Dimensional.  And that was it. It's a pretty quick and simple card to make.  I had fun making it and would love to make a few more!!

Garden in Bloom, Thank You Card, Petal Palatte

The "Garden in Bloom" set is going to be retiring at the end of May.  It was a fun set to play with. I have made prettier cards with it than this one.  I don't know what I was thinking when I was working on it.  But I'm still on my quest to make a ton of much needed thank you cards.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of the soon to retire Marina Mist.  I used a 4-3/4" x 1-3/4" piece of "Whole Lot of Lovely" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  

I cut the Whisper White piece 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" and stamped the flower using Marina Mist.  This is a three step stamped flower.  The stem and leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink. I layered this piece using Bermuda Bay card stock that was cut 2-7/8" x 3-7/8".

I stamped the words from the "Petal Palatte" set using Memento black ink.

I taped the DSP down on the left side and I added Dimensionals to the focal layers and set them in place on top of the DSP.  I used the "Wink of Stella" pen on the flower to give it a little bit of shimmer.  And that was it.  It was a pretty quick and easy card to make.

Petal Palatte, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I was SO happy to find that this set will be in the new 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! catalog.  I'm still working on my need for 30+ thank you cards.

This card was an easy one.  I found on on Pinterest that I liked but I didn't make it the same way. I was drawn to the flower being in the left corner, the dots and the lacy looking border thing.  The original card has a bird on it too. I did like the bird but I liked the look of keeping things simple. 

The base, actually the whole card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  

I stamped the flower piece and die cut it.  I set it in the corner to see where to stamp the leaves.  I used Old Olive, stamped once and then stamped again.  I did that 3 times for a total of 6 bunches of leaves. 

I colored the flower using the Calypso Coral Blends pens.  I colored the leaves using the Old Olive Blends pens.  

I die cut the black lacy image. I did use some double stick paper with it to cut it out so it became a sticker.  My sticker paper is a little old and the lacy thing didn't want to stick very sell, so I headed it up with the embossing heat tool and the image is now very secure.  I forgot to stamp the Calypso Coral dots so I ended up doing it after the lacy thing was set in place.  Not fond of how that turned out, but it is what it is!

I set the flower piece in place using Dimensionals and I stamped the "thank you" using Basic Gray ink.

And that was it. I told you it was very easy to make!!

Truly Tailored, Masculine Card, Retiring Stampin' Up! Set, 2018 Occasions Catalog

It makes me sad to see this set leave.  There's just not enough masculine sets.  And the ones they have don't even compare to the amount of female sets.  This was a fun set to play with and it expires on May 31st.  I pulled all the sets that will be retiring and I plan on playing with them a LOT before they retire.  

I found this card on Terri's display board a month or so ago and I took a photo of it with my phone. (Terri has a new blog) The image has been in my phone and about 100 photos later I thought I would look at what's on my phone.  And there it was.  Well, not quite like this.  The bottom of the original card had some stamped splashes on it and the words "P.S. Happy Birthday".  I thought I would use a retired mustache since I had die cut a couple of extras and put them in the "Truly Tailored" set.  

This card is very easy to make and if you don't have the mustache, you can either add words there, move the circle down further or leave it open.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I added two pieces of card stock and one piece of Decorative Series Paper (DSP) from the "True Gentleman" paper.  I cut those strips 1-1/4" x 3".  I added a piece of the Night of Navy corduroy ribbon to the bottom of where the strips ended.  I taped them to the back of the Whisper White piece. 

I stamped the words using Night of Navy ink and I die cut them with the 2-3/8" circle die. I die cut a black scalloped circle that was just a little bigger than the white circle. I taped those pieces together and added Dimensionals to the back.  I made sure that the Dimensionals didn't touch the ribbon.  It would cause the circle to sit crooked.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the mustache and set it in place.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of white card stock to the inside for writing and that was it!!

This was a very easy and fun card to make.  What a great way to use up some strips of DSP!!!

Petal Palate, Thank You Card, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I found this fun card on Split Coast Stampers.  I had the Decorative Series Paper (DSP) so I thought I would run with it. This will put a tiny dent in the thank you cards I need to make.  I am having fun making them because I'm not making them all the same. I think I would go crazy, it would be very boring after a while making the same card over and over and as many times as I need.  UGH!  So, mixing it up works for me.  And who's going to know or even care that I didn't make the same card for everyone???

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black.  On top of that is a piece of Whisper White cut 4" x 5-1/4" and on top of that is a piece of the "Sweet Soiree" DSP cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I had cut a piece of copier paper the same size and marked on it where I wanted the card to angle out. I marked the right side with on dot and I marked the left side with two dots.  The bottom piece is marked at 3/4".  The next mark is at 2-3/4".  I cut all three at the same time. I just cut from one mark on the left to the single mark on the right and repeated for the other mark. I now had two pieces to tape in place on top of the Whisper White piece. It was easy to tape it, just line up the top and side edges and then line up the bottom and side edges.  If the tips on the right don't line up right, not a problem, the flower will cover it.  I stamped my words close to the left side. I wasn't sure how much space I would have on the right side of the words, as you can tell on the blue flowered card (that was the first one I made).

Next I took my stamped and die cut flower from the "Petal Palate" set  (I have LOTS of those ready to color) and I used my blender pen and Marina Mist on the top left one, I used the Daffodil Delight Blends on the top right one and I used Rich Razzleberry and a blender pen on the bottom one.  I think my favorite one is the bottom one.  I had colored the leaves using the Old Olive Blends pens.

I die cut some of the leaves from the "Petal Palate" bundle.  The dies for that are called "Petals and More".  They were cut from Whisper White card stock.  The Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper would be pretty too but I have more white on hand than I do the glitter paper.  I cut two branches for each card. I set them in place behind the flower.  I set the flower in place using Dimensionals. 

Add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card is done!!

It's a very pretty card and I will be happy to be sending it off in the mail soon.

You've Got This, March 2018 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Birthday Card

Today I had some time to play with my March 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I was just going to put the kit together as it was, I do like the kit, but....

I had a flower left from the "You've Got This" set. When I made my card yesterday, I had stamped and colored 2 flowers.  My thinking was to make two cards, one a Mother's Day card and one a Birthday card.  But I only made the one card and that was it.  

So, when I opened up my Paper Pumpkin kit and saw the colors, I looked to my left and there on my messy worktable was the flower I had colored in.  Well, the gears started turning and this is what I came up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake (not included in the kit).  On top of that is a Rich Razzleberry piece of card stock that I trimmed 1/4" off the side so it measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4", plus I cut the piece in half.  It's folded for a note card.  I have mixed feelings about doing that.  I go from a kit that has 8 or 10 or 12 cards in it to 25 or 30!!! Exaggerating here but it seems that in doing this I double the amount of stamping and card making I need to do and still don't have the time for.  But after seeing this, I now wished I would have stamped more of this flower.  But I guess that gives me more room for those gears to get going again and come up with something more, right?  LOL  I say good luck with that!!! LOL

Okay, after the Rich Razzleberry piece, I took one of the four pieces with the roses stamped on it and cut 1/4" off the side of that too, it now measures 3" x 4-1/4". I taped it to the Rich Razzleberry piece.  I added the half doily (not included in the kit" and I cut a 3" piece of the ribbon that came with the kit. I added snail tape to the back and placed it over the edge of the doily.  I wound up some gold thread (not included in the kit) around my fingers and stuck the loops to a glue dot and stuck it to the card front.  I added Dimensionals to the flower and set it in place, moving it over just enough to cover the edge of the doily.

The words are from the kit and were stamped using Rich Razzleberry ink (not included in the kit).  The label the words are stamped on was in the kit. I sponged the edges with Rich Razzleberry ink and set them in place on top of the card front as you see in the photo. I had used Dimensionals to set the label piece in place.  And that was it. Pretty simple (especially since the flower was already cut and colored!!!).
