Lovely Lattice, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

It was a difficult decision to figure out which Sale-a-Bration set I was going to play with today.  It will be the last time I will be posting images from them on here since they retire tomorrow.  I was looking through the ton of cards I had saved from Pinterest and I thought this one looked pretty.  I LOVE the Coastal Cabana color and I wish that Stampin' Up! would come out with them in the Blends. I miss that color.  You can see the original card here.  My card is a little different but it's okay, I like how it looks.

This is an easy card to make though it did take a little time to color.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Bermuda Bay card stock.  It was cut on the 8-1/2" side.  This card opens at the bottom.

The Whisper White piece was cut 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  I stamped the image from the "Lovely Lattice" set using black Memento ink.  I colored the leaves in using Granny Apple Green Blends markers.  I colored the flowers in using a blender pen and the Bermuda Bay marker.  The centers of the flowers were colored in using the Daffodil Delight marker. That was the part that took the longest.  It really didn't take all that long to color and I was in the mood to color so I think it went quickly.  

After coloring, I added the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.

I had a piece of the Bermuda Bay and Granny Apple Green ribbon from a package of card stock (as a gift).  It came in handy.  I wrapped the ribbon around the top of the Whisper White piece and tied a bow.  I stuck a few tiny glue dots around to hold it in place.

I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the card base. I like how the card lines up with the top edge and not centered all around.  I didn't pay attention when I was cutting it and I'm thinking that length should be about 3/8" longer.  So the card stock should be cut 3-1/2" x 5-1/8".  I like this layout and I think I may try using it again on another image. Hopefully in the near future!

I do like how the card turned out and it was fun to just sit and color for a little while.

Painted Season, Southern Serenade, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Oh no, only one more day and all the fun Sale-a-Bration sets will be retired.  I didn't play with the frog set enough.  And there's other ones I didn't pay much attention to.  I will end up putting them in my web store. I just can't hang onto retired sets anymore. My workroom is getting too full. I will let you know when they go in the store.  It will be a little while because it takes time to take the photo, weigh the package, get all that info and measurements put in the web store so by the time you see it, it's just a paragraph with a link to purchase!  

Today's card comes to you from the "Painted Seasons" Sale-a-Bration set and the "Painted Seasons" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  I found the card on Pinterest.  I didn't have the ribbon that was used on the original card, so I made a few little changes and got the card to work for me!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the "Painted Seasons" DSP.  That will be retiring too after tomorrow.

I took a scrap piece of Whisper White and stamped the flower from the "Painted Season" set using Poppy Parade ink.  I colored the center of the flower with the Early Espresso marker.  I fussy cut the image out. I did not invest in the die cuts. 

I cut a 4" x 2" piece of Whisper White card stock and after setting the flower on the left side, I could determine where I wanted to stamp the leaf.  I used Shaded Spruce to stamp it.  I didn't have the Call Me Clover ink pad, I didn't invest in any of the in colors this time around.  It was too big of an expense for me.  After stamping the leaf, I stamped the words from the "Southern Serenade" set.  I love the font.  It seemed to fit well with the flowers.  I set that panel in place on the card using Dimensionals.

Next I set the flower in place with Dimensionals and I added a few pearls. Oh, I also colored in the center of the flower with Wink of Stella to give it some sparkle, and of course it doesn't show up in the photo.  And that was it.  This was a very quick card to make and a great way to use up some DSP!

Painted Seasons, Southern Serenade, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Brations

You are not going to believe this!  I needed a sympathy card and I was going to make one but I just couldn't get myself to do it.  But I did have one in my stash that I am using.  Yes, I actually am using a card in my stash. I hope you were sitting down for that!!! LOL

I had taken out the "Painted Seasons" Sale-a-Brations set.  I have not played with this one much.  It became available on March 1st and by the time it arrives you only have about 20 days to play with it.  And with me, in those 20 days I've already forgot I have it!!!  UGH!  

So today I thought I would play with it since it is retiring in 2 days.  I may make another card using it tomorrow.  It's a fun and easy set to use.  I LOVE the pine cone in it but that just seems like a fall image. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock.  This card opens on the right.  On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 5" x 1-7/8" piece of the "Painted Seasons" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and I taped it to a 5-1/8" x 2" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.

The image was stamped on a piece of 2-1/4" x 3" piece of Whisper White card stock using Pool Party ink.  And the words are from the "Southern Serenade" set and were stamped using Shaded Spruce ink.  I taped that to a 2-3/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Pool Party card stock.  I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine around the panel.  I set it in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it. It's a very quick and easy card to make.  It may have been a good sympathy card but I didn't have any words that would fit in that small area.

I forgot to add, I colored the image in using a Wink of Stella pen.  It's difficult to see in the photo.

Hello Cupcake, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I don't visit Split Coast Stampers as much as I used to do.  I mostly look around on Pinterest now a days!  But today I was on Split Coast Stampers and I ran across this card.  I LOVED the whole frame idea.  Though their frame was different and so was the bottom edging. But I like it just the same.  You can see the original card here.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This piece was cut on the 8-1/2" side.  This card opens at the bottom (the fold is at the top).  

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I taped a 1-3/4" piece of the Soft Sea Foam Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 6" x 6" Subtles pack.  

Next I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White and using the smallest of the "Delicate Lace" die cuts, I die cut the bottom edge.  Then I trimmed the straight end so the 4-1/2" x 4".  I taped it on top of the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  The lacy edge allows the stripes of the DSP to show through.  I really like that look.  

Then I stamped the pieces to the cupcake.  There are four, the bottom, the "cake" part, the frosting and the heart. I stamped the bottom and the heart using Soft Sea Foam ink.  I stamped the "cake" part using Soft Suede ink and the frosting was done using Petal Pink ink. I die cut those four pieces.  I taped the "cake" piece to the cupcake bottom using snail on the edge and then I added a little bit of scotch tape to hold it together better on the backside.  I used Dimensionals to set it in place.  I added the frosting with Dimensionals.  I didn't add the heart until later.

I needed to figure out how to make a cute frame. The frame in the original card has the scallops on the inside.  SO cute.  But I didn't have a die like that so I'm working with what I have.  I used the scalloped square die for the outer edge, the stitched square die for the next frame and a smaller square for the center opening.  I die cut the outer two first. I wasn't paying attention or I could have done all three at the same time because they all fit within each other.  But now you know, so you can save yourself a whole 30 seconds!!! LOL  I did cut the Petal Pink card stock on the paper cutter. It measures 2-1/8" x 2-1/8".  

I put the two frame pieces together, face side down and I took some Washi tape and taped them together. Scotch tape will work for this too. I just wan't sure what I was doing at the time. The frame pieces were now one.

I stamped the words from the "Hello Cupcake" set using black Memento ink.  Then I lined the frame up to see how it looked and I taped the frame to the word piece.  I set the frame in place using snail tape.

I set the cupcake pieces in place using Dimenisonals. 

And for the final touch I added some sequins from the "Iridescent Sequins" assortment pack.  I glued them in place and I also glued the heart.  I had set it aside because I didn't want to take the glue out for just one thing when I knew I would be using it for the sequins.

I added Wink of Stella to the heart and then card was done.  I think it's just TOO stinkin' cute and I really LOVE that frame!

Beautiful Bouquet, Botanical Butterfly, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today's card was a fun and simple one.  I found it while surfing the net.  You can see the original card here.  

I don't usually use that large of a background piece and as I look at the card I think I would have worked this one out a little differently.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I taped a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Balmy Blue card stock. 

I cut the gingham from the 6" x 6" "Gingham Gala" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack.  It measures 3-3/4" x 5".  I taped it to the Balmy Blue piece.

The words are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I die cut the words using the "Stitched Circle" die.  

I took a piece of 5/8" wide white ribbon.  My ribbon is retired.  I didn't have the ribbon that was used on the original card.  I set the ribbon in place using glue dots.

I added some Dimensionals to the stitched circle and set it in place over the ribbon.

I punched out a butterfly from the "Botanical Butterfly" 12" x 12" DSP.  There's a whole sheet (two of them actually) of butterflies that are just black and white and waiting to be colored.  I punched the butterfly out using the "Butterfly Duet" punch.  I took the Balmy Blue sponge dauber and rubbed on some blue.  And then I took the Granny Apple Green sponge dauber and sponged it on the outer parts of the leaves.  I don't wash my daubers, I have them in a little case and they are each labeled.  That way I don't have to wash them.  I wait until I'm almost out of sponges and daubers before I wash them.  But now I know I have some ready when I need them.  After sponging the butterfly I set it in place using a Dimensional.  I bent the wings up a little. I often wonder if they just go flat when you mail the card.  

And for the final touch I added three sequins from the "Iridescent Sequin" assortment.  I just set them in place with a little white glue.  And that was it.

This was a very quick and simple card to make.  I LOVE playing with those butterflies.

Hello Cupcake, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Only 5 days left and this "Hello Cupcake" set will be retiring.  I am hanging on to mine for a while longer since I did purchase the matching dies. I plan to make more cards in the near future.  What's sad about the Sale-a-Bration ending soon is that I have not played with the sets as much as I would have liked to. I just get too many and then end up picking a few and stick with them.  I always tell myself, no more than 4 new Sale-a-Bration sets.  It doesn't work. I didn't listen as a child, why would I listen now?  LOL

This was a fun and easy card to make.  The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  And then a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock goes on top of that one.  Before that piece was taped on I stamped the "sprinkles" image on the right corners of the panel using Melon Mambo ink.

I cut a 1-3/4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Garden Impressions" 6" x 6" pack.  I did cut that piece so I could make two more cards.  I tend to put pieces back in the package and never use them again.  I taped the DSP to the Whisper White piece that has the sprinkles in the corners.

With the thought of making more cards using the DSP, I decided to take out my Stamparatus and stamp the cupcake pieces using it.  I cut three 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" pieces of Whisper White.  I set it up in the Stamparatus and stamped the cupcake bottom using Soft Suede ink. I stamped the other two pieces when I was done with the first one.  Then I stamped the "cake" part using So Saffron ink. I repeated this on the other two pieces.  The "frosting" was stamped using Melon Mambo ink.  I stamped the other two pieces.  And lastly I stamped the sprinkles and the words at the same time.  Both were done using Early Espresso ink.  I stamped the other two and I had 3 cards ready to put together and very quickly too!

I taped the Whisper White piece with the Melon Mambo sprinkles in the corners on top of the Melon Mambo piece of card stock.  I taped those two layers to the card base.  Next I taped the cupcake image to the 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  I set those layers in place using Dimensionals.  

This is a very quick and easy card to make.  Now I'm off to tape the other two together!

Home To Roost, Birthday Card, Masculine Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

It's getting down to the wire here.  Sale-a-Bration ends in 6 days.  I still have lots of fun things I found on the net to make but they will have to be set aside for another time. Which translates into "you're never going to make them!" 

This was a fun card.  Very easy to make.  It does have a few pieces to it but it wasn't bad at all.  I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card here.  The only thing I changed were the words.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla that I covered the upper 3/4 with roosters.  I colored in the head part of the rooster using the Real Red marker.

I took a 2" x 4" piece of Real Red card stock and textured it with the "Pinewood Planks" embossing folder.  I taped it to the bottom of the Very Vanilla piece.  I added a 1/2" x 4" strip of Basic Black card stock.  I think it should have been 3/4" instead but it still worked. I taped that over the edge of the Real Red piece, overlapping it a little.

I stamped the rooster on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla and I die cut it using the stitched circle die. And I die cut a Basic Black scalloped circle at the same time. It just saves time when you can run more than one item through.  I taped the two layers together.  I colored the rooster like I did with the others.  I set the layers in place using Dimensionals.  

Next I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using black Memento ink. I punched it out using the "Classic Labels" punch.  I added glue to the right side of the piece and a Dimensionals to the left side and set it in place on the card.

And for the final item, I took some linen thread and made a bow.  I used a plastic fork and wrapped it around the tines three or four times.  Before I wrapped it I cut a piece and set it between the middle tines.  Then I wrapped the thread around. I took the cut piece and tied the loops together.  I have seen where you thread the ends through and tie the knot. I did try that but the loops didn't stay in place very nice.  I just clipped the ends that were wrapped around so they weren't visible and the glue dot held them in place. I trimmed the ends of the piece I used to tie it together and it was ready to be set in place on the rooster. 

This is such a bright and vibrant card.  SO masculine too!

Hello Cupcake, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today is my younger sister's birthday.  You all know I have cards in my stash but I always feel I need to make a "fresh" card when I need one.  Though there are times I have used cards in my stash.

Today's card was made using the "Hello Cupcake" set and the matching die.  It's too bad this is a Sale-a-Bration set and will be retiring 8 days.  I've had a lot of fun with this set and I will be hanging onto mine for a while.  I find it versatile. I can use it for adults or children.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 2-1/8" x 4-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Brights 6" x 6" pack.  I taped that piece in place on the right.

I had added some Wink of Stella on the frosting piece.  The Wink of Stella caused the ink to bleed, which was a good thing, it made the frosting look more pink in the white areas.  I tried to stay away from the Early Espresso sprinkles, I didn't want the brown to get into the pink.

I die cut a "Stitched Oval" using the largest die in the pack. I die cut it using Melon Mambo card stock.  Then I die cut the largest scalloped oval using Basic Black card stock. I taped those two layers together and taped them to the front of the card. 

Then I stamped the cupcake bottom using Crumb Cake ink. The "cake" part was stamped using So Saffron ink and the frosting was stamped using Melon Mambo. I added some "sprinkles" using Early Espresso ink. I die cut all three pieces out.

I taped the "cake" part to the cupcake bottom. The cupcake bottom is on top of the "cake" part.  I taped those two pieces in place on the oval.  I added the frosting piece using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Hello Cupcake" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.  And that was it.  This was a fun and easy card to make.

Beautiful Bouquet, Botanical Butterfly, Birthday Card, 2019 Sale-a-Brations Catalog

Today's card comes from a Stamp a Stack that I attended. It was not one of the cards to make but it was one that was on display. I took a picture of it because I wanted to make it. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crushed Curry.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black.  The largest oval can be die cut from it's center before it's taped in place.  This saves some card stock if you don't have any scrap to get rid of.

I cut a piece of Very Vanilla 3-3/4" x 5".  I added this piece of Very Vanilla because the next layers needed some support and didn't fit well.  I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Crushed Curry and textured it using the "Corrugated" embossing folder.  Now doing this made the card less than 3-3/4" wide.  I taped the piece in place on top of the Very Vanilla, making sure the right edges lined up.  The left edge had a gap.  But that's okay, the Designer Series Paper (DSP) will cover it.

I cut the DSP from the "Botanical Butterfly" 12" x 12" pack to 5" x 2-3/4".  I also cut a strip of Basic Black card stock that measured 1/2" x 5".  I ran a strip of tape along the edge of the DSP on the back side and lined up the strip of black so there was about 1/4" of it showing.  I added tape to entire piece and set it in place on the Very Vanilla and Crushed Curry piece.  I made sure the left side lined up and covered the little bit of Very Vanilla showing.  Then I taped this all to the card base.

Next I die cut a scalloped oval using Crushed Curry.  I also die cut a Very Vanilla "Stitched" oval.  I did die cut it before I stamped the words. Using the Stamparatus allows me to do that with no worries about getting it straight.  

The words are from the "Beautiful Boutique" set using black Memento ink.  I taped the stitched oval on top of the other two ovals. I added the ovals to the card front using a Dimensional.

I punched out a butterfly from the "Botanical Butterfly" 12" x 12" pack.  I set it in place using a Dimensional.  I added a few sequins to dress up the front a little bit.  

And lastly I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla to the inside for writing on.

This was a fun card to make and my changes to it were the textured Crushed Curry piece and added the sequins.  The original card had a black Baker's Twine bow under the words.  I didn't like that look so I added sequins.

I am happy with the way the card turned out.

Butterfly Gala, Hello Cupcake, Beauty Abounds, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-a-Brations

Here's a fun and pretty card I found on Pinterest.  I just had to make it.  Looking at it just gave me a happy feeling.  The feeling that soon all of this snow we have will be gone and we will see green grass on the ground once again!  You can see the original card here.  There was no link to get any info from it so I had to wing it.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Melon Mambo.  And the focal piece is Whisper White cut 3-7/8" x 5-1/2".

First I stamped the words using the "Hello Cupcake" set and black Memento ink.  I die cut them using the "Stitched Circles" dies.  I took the circle and lightly traced around it with a pencil. I tried to get it as centered as I could by eyeing it, without measuring.

I stamped the bubbles using the "Beauty Abounds" set. I used the larger bubbles and Melon Mambo ink. I stamped them in two spots on the card front.  Then I stamped the green ones. I used Pear Pizzazz for that.  The original card looked like it used, perhaps Garden Green. I thought it made it look too Christmasy, so I went with the Pear Pizzazz.  Granny Apple Green would be good too! I stamped the smaller bubbles image using the Pear Pizzazz ink. I stamped them near the top butterfly and near the bottom butterfly.  

Next I stamped the tiny dots image using Melon Mambo ink.  I erased the pencil marks with my kneadable eraser.  If you don't own one, I highly recommend you get one. It only removed the graphite without harming the paper in any way.  It didn't smear my ink either!

I took some gold thread and wrapped it around my spread fingers about 4 times and set the raw ends to the middle and then stuck it to the focal piece using a glue dot.  Then I set the word circle in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the butterflies from the "Butterfly Gala" set using black Memento ink.  I sponged on the color using Melon Mambo ink.  I thought about using the Blends Pens but there isn't a Melon Mambo set and I thought the marker might be too dark. If I wanted my sponging darker, I could just sponge some more. I felt I had more control over it with the sponge.  I punched the butterflies out using the "Butterfly Duo" punch.  

Then I stamped the tiny butterflies from the "Beauty Abounds" set using Smoky Slate ink that I stamped off once before stamping on the focal piece.  

I set the butterflies in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

Isn't it pretty?  I would love to make another one in purple and yellow or maybe purple and orange.  This was a very fun and easy card to make.

Lasting Lily, Just Because, Thinking of You Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions and Sale-a-Brations Catalogs

Today's card is a perfect example of why you should keep your work area clean.  I had some card stock sitting out from another project and I didn't pay attention when I was making my card and the next think I knew I had a darker green around the flower piece.  It is what it is, I can't fix it but I'm sharing it with you so you can see what happens when you don't put your stuff away.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that I layered a piece of the Highland Heather gingham card stock from the 6" x 6" paper pack.  I cut that paper 1-3/4" x 4-1/2".  I cut a 1-7/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Mint Macaron card stock for the layer.

I stamped the flower stem on a 2" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I added a flower from one of the other images in the "Lasting Lilly" set.  I stamped the flower on a piece of Whisper White card stock and using Mint Macaron ink, I stamped the bottom part of the flower.  I fussy cut the flower and set it in place using Dimensionals. I layered the flower panel on a 2-1/8" x 4-1/8" what was supposed to be Mint Macaron but it ended up being Coastal Cabana.  I can distinguish between the two colors but I was cutting my pieces as I needed them instead of cutting all at one time.  And that is how I grabbed the wrong color. I taped those two layers together and then taped them to the card front.

The words are from the "Just Because" set.  It's from the 2019 Occasions catalog.  It's the first time I've used it.  I've been so busy playing with the Sale-a-Bration sets that I have not been playing with the other ones I bought. I die cut them using the oval die and I die cut a scalloped oval and that was when I realized the card stock color issue!  I taped the ovals together and then set them in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  Now I'm off to clean up my scrap papers sitting by my paper cutter and I need to clean up my worktable so I can start another card. I want to play with the "Just Because" set!!

Dandelion Wishes, Botanical Butterfly, Get Well Card

WOW, talk about a simple, quick and pretty card! 

When I bought the "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper (DSP), I thought the paper I used here today was so busy and I wondered if I would even use it.  On the back there's a white background with tiny black dots. I was okay with it then because I figured I would use that side for sure.  And now after making this card, I'm torn!!! LOL  From one extreme to the other!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And the focal piece is Whisper White cut 3-3/4" x 5".  

I cut the DSP at 2" x 3-3/4".  I cut a strip of the gingham DSP from the same pack. I didn't mreasure it but I made sure it was 4 squares wide and 3-3/4" long.  I taped those two pieces of DSP to the focal piece.

I lined up the words, centering them on the open Whisper White panel.  They are from the "Dandelion Wishes" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I punched out a butterfly from the "Botanical Butterfly" DSP using the "Butterfly Duet" punch.  I set the butterfly in place using a Dimensional.  I took a black fine point pen and added the dashed lines.  And for the final touch I added 3 of the "Iridescent Sequins" from the assortment pack.  And that was it. 

This was a very fun card to make and now I can get it sent off to a friend who had surgery.  I'm late in getting the card out but to think about it in a different light, she is still recovering and probably not getting any cards now!!!  Always try to look on the positive side!

Hello Cupcake, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Brations, Birthday Card

Only a month left and this little gem retires.  I LOVE using this cupcake image.  It's such a perfect card for adults and children.  I found this card here, but I did change it a little.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.  I stamped the words from the "Hello Cupcake" set using Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and Pool Party ink.  Then I taped it to the card base.

I cut a 3" x 4" piece of Basic Black card stock and die cut the scalloped oval from the center. And if I were smart, I would have cut the stitched oval from the Whisper White piece but the brain isn't in full gear today!  Fortunately I had a scrap piece.  I die cut the ovals and set them aside.  I cut a 2-7/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack "How Sweet It Is" from the new 2019 Occasions catalog.  I taped it to the Basic Black layer and I taped those layers to the Whisper White piece. 

I stamped the frosting using Melon Mambo ink.  I set it aside to dry a bit before I fussy cut it out.  I stamped the cupcake bottom using Gorgeous Grape ink.  Then I stamped the cake part using Crumb Cake ink.  I taped the two ovals together and then taped them to the DSP. 

I fussy cut the frosting and I set it in place using Dimensinals.  When I look at it on the screen, I think I should have added some "sprinkles" to the frosting.  It needs something.  But other than that I do like the card.

Perennial Birthday, Sheet Music, Botanical Butterfly, Birthday Card

I was looking at my stamp sets and I came across the "Sheet Music" one and realized that I don't use it very often. SO I decided I would work up a card with it plus using something from the Sale-a-Brations catalog.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  

I stamped the "Sheet Music" on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I cut that piece to 2-3/4" x 2-3/4".  I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Balmy Blue for the layer. I taped those two pieces together.

The words are from the "Perennial Birthday" set. I used black Memento to stamp them.

Next I punched a butterfly from the "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" pack from the Sale-a-Brations catalog.  I used the "Butterfly Duo" punch to punch the butterfly from the DSP.

I set the square layers in place using Dimensionals.  I added a Dimensional to the butterfly and set it in place on the music image.  I added three small rhinestones to the center of the butterfly and the card was done.  As quick and simple as that.

Beauty Abounds, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Botanical Butterfly DSP, Birthday Card

I found a fun card on the internet but I didn't want to make a long thin card. I wanted to keep my card at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  So I worked with the image a bit and this is what I came up with. You can see the original card here.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. 

I stamped the side images from the "Beauty Abounds" set using black Memento ink. I'm not that great at getting things perfectly centered but unless you don't examine the card too closely you won't notice it.  After stamping the flowery part I took the larger bubbles image from the same set and stamped them using Granny Apple Green ink.  Then I took the smaller bubbles image and stamped them using Balmy Blue ink.  I trimmed this piece to 5-1/2" x 2-3/8".  I cut a Balmy Blue layer that measured 5-1/2" x 2-5/8".  I taped those two layers together. 

I set the layers on top of the card base and I lightly drew a pencil line using the layers as my edge.  I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.  I took my art gum kneadable eraser.  That eraser is a must to have. It removes graphite and will not ruin your card stock.  If you draw lightly there will be no trace at all of the lines. If you press hard with your pencil, it will still erase the graphite but there will be and indentation from the pressure you used. You can knead them and shape them to whatever you'd like. Sometimes I find I need to shape them into a cone to erase what I need erased. I even took a piece of the eraser kneaded and shaped it so it fit in my mechanical pencil.  I just highly recommend them.  

Next I taped the two layers to the card base.  I die cut a butterfly from the "Botanical Butterfly" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper pack.  It's a Sale-a-Bration item.  I have had lots of fun with all of the butterfly images in this pack.

Taking a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock I cut the second to the largest stitched circle die.  I used the "Starburst" punch and punched one of Balmy Blue. I taped the Whisper White circle to it and then taped the two of them to the stamped image.  I added the butterfly with Dimensionals and the card was done.

I thought it was a fun card to make. What I liked was that the bubbles helped color in the details of the image so I didn't have to do any coloring with markers. 

When I saw this card on the internet I knew I just had to make it.

Home to Roost, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Bokeh Dots, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration, Birthday Card

Today's card is a pretty simple one, though I tried to make it difficult.  I thought I would just stamp the "Bokeh Dots" image, trim it up and then layer it with a piece of Basic Black card stock. So I set out to do that. I stamped three of the images because I thought I may mess them up and I wanted to have at least one good one.  After getting the image stamped to my satisfaction I realized that the image really needed to be stamped directly onto the Whisper White focal piece.  UGH!!!  So I set those pieces aside for maybe another day and went on to do the card right!  I had found this card on the internet.  You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  The card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side.  You can cut on the 11" side, it doesn't matter. I just had this piece in my pack of Basic Black card stock and I thought I would use it.  

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather that later will be taped to a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White.

I tried to center the "Bokeh Dots" image as best as I could and I inked it up using Balmy Blue and Gorgeous Grape.  I sponged on the colors.  Directly from the pad was WAY too dark and looked funny, even after stamping off.  I have never had much luck with this image.  I never get the dots to pop out like everyone else does.  I need to work with it more and see if I can get those images more defined.  But for today it mostly looks like the colors were just sponged in and that is okay too. I like the looks of it.

After stamping the "Bokeh Dots" image I then stamped the wheat image from the "Home to Roost" Sale-a-Bration set.  I used black Memento ink.  After that dried a bit, I put a piece of scrap card stock over it and began drawing in the dots and dashes using a fine point Sharpie marker.  I then taped the Whisper White piece to the Highland Heather piece.

Next I wrapped a piece the burlap ribbon around the two pieces and taped the ends on the back.  I also added a piece of the Highland Heather ribbon from the Sale-a-Bration book around and on top of the burlap ribbon and I taped those ends to the back.  I took some linen thread and wrapped it around my fingers in a figure 8 and added a glue dot in the middle to hold it in place. I set that on top of the Highland Heather ribbon.  I added another glue dot on top of that and tied a Highland Heather bow and set it in place.

The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I set it in place using glue dots. 

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

After figuring out how to work the focal image, the card went together really fast.  I think it's pretty and makes a lovely birthday card.  Seeing it on the screen now I think it would also make a serene sympathy card.

Botanical Butterfly, Butterfly Duet Punch, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today's card was fun and easy to make.  I wanted to make a happy spring looking card because we are headed for another big snowfall starting tonight and going through Sunday.  I LOVE snow, but I think we've had enough now!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White.

I cut a 1-1/2" x 4" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Botanical Butterfly" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I layered it with a 2" x 4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock.  I taped the DSP strip to it and then taped the strip to the Whisper White piece.  Now normally I don't tape before I stamp but today I did because I put the piece in the Stamparatus so I could stamp it again if needed.  The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set.  I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I punched out the butterflies from the "Botanical Butterfly" DSP pack.  I sponged them using Pumpkin Pie ink.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.  I added some crystal rhinestones and the card was done.  I did add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock on the inside for writing on!

This was a fun card to make and now I'm going to hunker down for the weekend of snow!

Hello Cupcake, 2019 Stampin' Up Sale-a-Bration Birthday Card

This is a very clean and simple card.  I love this "Hello Cupcake" set. I find it easy to work with and I don't really mind fussy cutting the frosting.  Though I only had to make one. If I had to do more I may have whined about it a bit more, you know me!!!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Berry Burst.  I'm trying to use up the in colors since they will be retiring in a few months.  I don't even think I've used the Lemon Lime Twist color in that collection.

The focal piece is Whisper White and it was cut 5" x 3-3/4".  I stamped the cupcake bottom and the words using Early Espresso ink.  Next I stamped the cake part using Flirty Flamingo stamped off once. 

I stamped the frosting using Berry Burst ink and the sprinkles were stamped using Early Espresso ink.  I stamped the little heart pick using Flirty Flamingo straight from the ink pad.  I set them aside to dry a bit.  I taped the layers of the card together and then I fussy cut the frosting and the heart pick.  I set the frosting in place using Dimensionals and I glued the end of the frosting pick on top.  And that was it.  Even with the fussy cutting, this card went together really quick!!  I added a piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside for writing on.  It's not fun to write on black!

What's great about this set is that it can be used for children or adults!

Beautiful Bouquet, By the Bay, 2019 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration, Masculine Birthday Card, Vertical Stretch Technique

 Okay, not being a computer person I struggled with that bottom photo. I could not get the orientation right and it took me 5 tries.  I was about to give up and leave it upside down but I gave it one more try and I finally got it right.  UGH.  Please don't ask me how I did it, I couldn't tell you and I'm not sure I could do it again without all of the drama that went along with this one!!! LOL

Tonight I am going to be participating in a swap and this is my card. I'm not thrilled with the color combination but I was working with limited papers.  It is what it is.  Besides, it's a technique swap so I did the technique.  This technique is called "Vertical Stretch".  You can see the instructions on how to do it here.  I am not fond of this technique. The card does fold into a regular size stamped card and fits in an A2 envelope but the card does not stay closed, no matter how hard you burnish the folds.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  This was cut on the 8-1/2" side.

I used the "Share What You Love" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP) on the top two sections and Whisper White on the bottom.

The image is from the "By the Bay" 2019 Sale-a-Bration set.  I had stamped and colored this image a few days ago. You can see that card here and how I did it.  I layered the image using Tranquil Tide card stock.  The image layer was set in place using Dimensionals.

The words on the inside are from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock and layered it with a Tranquil Tide scalloped oval.   I left the bottom unstamped so it can be written on.

I can't say this was fun to make, I didn't really like this card. I don't care much for the technique, mostly because the card does not stay closed.

Home to Roost, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Masculine Birthday Card, 2019 Sale-a-Bration

I found a fun card on Pinterest using the "Home to Roost" Sale-a-Bration set.  I thought it was such a cute set.  You can see the original card here.  

Should I ever make another one, I will make sure I don't turn the rooster upside down. That way I would get more rooster heads in the background.  I had taken a half a sheet of Whisper White card stock and I planned on making a couple of cards but half way through I dropped the stamp on the card stock and rendered it unusable.  SO I just ended up with the top half being good and going from there. 

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  On top of that I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the roosters from the "Home to Roost" set using black Memento ink.  I colored in the top part of the chicken the comb and the thing under it's neck using the Real Red marker.  I stamped a rooster on a piece of scrap white and die cut it using the stitched circle die. I also die cut a scalloped circle to fit the rooster circle. I had ended up with a rooster background piece measuring 3-1/2" x 4".  I taped it to the Whisper White piece. 

I took a piece of Real Red card stock and textured it using the "Hardwood" embossing folder.  I cut the piece 4" x 2-1/4" and taped it to the bottom of the Whisper White piece.  I taped it all down on top of the card base. 

I set the Rooster circles in place using Dimensionals. 

I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.  I punched it using the "Classic Label" punch. I added small Dimensionals to the left and center and I added some snail to the right side. 

I took two strands of linen and tied a bow. I set the bow in place using a small glue dot.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card was done.

I think this makes a great masculine birthday card!!
