Begonia Bell, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd play with the "Begonia Belle" set. It was an online exclusive that I debated getting. My order qualified for it but I thought I had enough stamps.  And then the thoughts went to, it's only $5.00. Well, it's not very often you can get a nice stamp set for $5.00, so that's where we're at!  I had the set for a few weeks but hadn't played with it yet. Mostly because I have so many other sets to play with. I think I may have overdone it! But it's been fun and that's what it's all about, right? I found a layout using this set that I liked so I went with it but changed the colors and the Designer Series Paper (DSP).  You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

My DSP from the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" package. There was a piece in the package already cut from the large sheet. My piece measures 4" x 1-1/2". I taped it to the upper part of the card front.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I tore about one inch from the upper part of that piece. I just let the paper rip where it wanted to. Sometimes it's hard to control the tear. Once torn I glued it to the front of the card. I made sure it lined up to the sides of the DSP so it didn't show. It shouldn't show if they were both cut the same size. I set it under my stamping mat to allow to set up and dry a bit while I worked on the other parts of the card.

I stamped the flower from the "Begonia Belle" set using Daffodil Delight ink on the 1st step. The second step for this image is the detailed one. I stamped that using Crushed Curry. I did the same for the flower buds.

The greenery was stamped using Old Olive ink.

Now the fun part. I fussy cut everything out. Once cut, I added Dimensionals to the larger begonia and lightly set it in place on the front of the card. I set it lightly so I could slip the large leaves under it. I added glue to the back of the larger leaves and slipped them under the large flower. Then I pressed down on the large flower to set it in it's place.

The little flowers and stem with leaves was glued on next.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Old Olive ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the parts that don't touch the flower. I did add a little bit of tape to the part that does touch the flower.

I had some "Blossom Pearl" (retired) embellishments in my stash and thought they'd work just fine with the card and the card was done.

This was fun and quick to make. I hadn't done a torn paper card in a long time. I forgot what a nice touch it has on a card.

I'm not sure if this is just a friendship card. I think it could be used for a birthday or any other occasion that brought someone happiness.

Balloon Festoon, Fabulous Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you today. Please read on to see how it was made.

I had put the card base together for a card I was going to make and I ended up changing my mind and set the card base aside. I ran across it today and thought I'd see if I could make a birthday card with it because it has a festive look to the embossed piece.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Barely Blush card stock. I had added another piece of Basic White that measures 4" x 5-1/4" and that was all taped together. Then I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Barely Blush card stock and textured it using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I glued that to the other two layers I had taped together. Then I taped that to the card base. 

The balloons were die cut using the "Balloon Festoon" set and I cut them using Darling Duckling, Hydrangea Hue and Calypso Coral card stock. The two larger balloons are the same size and the smaller one is just a step down. I used Basic White card stock for the shine marks on the balloons. I taped them in place on the left side of each of the balloons.

I took a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package and trimmed it to 1-1/2" x 3-3/4". 

The words are from the "Fabulous Sayings" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. It was trimmed to 1-1/4" x 3-3/4". I taped the two pieces together. 

I set the balloons where I thought they looked best and turned them over and taped them together so they'd stay where I wanted them. I slipped the bottom balloon between the word and DSP piece. Dimensionals were added to the back. I made sure some Dimensionals covered the parts where the items overlap each other. This will hold them together better. I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and set the entire piece in place on the front of the card.

I was going to leave it as it is but I thought it needed something more so I took out my Wink of Stella pen and colored over the balloons.  In the photo, it just made the balloons look dirty! LOL But in real life they have a nice twinkle. Now the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and once again something sitting on my worktable found it's way into a finished card.

Oh My Fright, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. Please read on to see how it's made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Basic Black layer and then that was taped to the front of the card.

The ghost piece was cut from the same package of DPS. This image is actually the opposite side of the spiderweb paper. It's cut at 2-5/8" x 2-5/8". I taped it to a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the left side of the card. The tips line up to the edges of the spiderweb DSP on all three sides.

The word are from the "Oh My Fright" set using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut it out using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. I used a retired circle die set and cut a Pumpkin Pie piece to fit behind the focal circle. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the right side and tape to the area where it will be touching the ghost piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. It's basically centered and the right side lines up with the spiderweb DSP. 

Using the fun elements from the "Adhesive-Baked Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package I added several of them to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick card to make. I was in need of a quick card today because we are preparing to paint our house! UGH! I'm sure tomorrow night when I sit at my worktable to make my daily card, I will be thrilled to be able to sit down inside and enjoy the smell of ink instead of paint! LOL

Delicate Whispers, Delicate Dreams, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick birthday card to share with. I put it together with pieces of parts found on my worktable. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Crumb Cake was taped to the front of the card base for the largest layer.

On top of the Crumb Cake layer is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12' x 12" package. The piece measured 4" x 5-1/4" that had been cut in half. I taped one side of the piece to the left and flipped the other piece over and taped that to the right.

The arches are from the "Everyday Arches" set. The 4th and 5th largest ones were used here. The large one was cut using Basic Black card stock and the 5th largest one was cut using Basic White card stock. 

I stamped the leafy floral image from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle using Crumb Cake ink. I colored in the flowers with Hydrangea Hue ink and a Blending pen. I didn't buy the Blends pens in the in colors. You have to draw the line somewhere when purchasing items. A blending pen and ink pad work just fine for me. The leaves were colored in using the dark Soft Sea Foam Blends pen. I taped the arches together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card. I just eyed it.

There are two arched leaf branches die cut, one is Crumb Cake and the other is Basic White. They are from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle. I snipped the ends off as far as I could go up without making the one piece into two. I added tape to the cut ends and set them in place over the leafy floral image. 

I die cut some flowers using the dies in the "Delicate Whispers" bundle and a piece of DSP from the same package. I laid the dies over the flowers to get the best blue images. I glued the small one to the large one and then I glued that to the top of the die cut arched leaf branches.

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock. I cut them out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I taped the back up to close to the end of the piece and added a Dimensional to the right end. I set it in place over the cut ends of the leafy branches. 

For a final touch I used some black dots from the "Adhesive-backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots" embellishments and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and it was great to use up some stuff just sitting on my worktable (waiting to get ruined). It's always nice when you can use things already cut, it makes it easy to just whip up a card.

Fragrant Layers, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I found it on Pinterest. I researched the name and found the link. You can see the original card by clicking here. I thought it was such a pretty stained glass looking card that I just had to make one. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock was cut and then textured using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I die cut the Basic Black framed piece using the die in the "Fragrant Layers" bundle. A piece of doubles sided sticky sheet was added to the Basic Black card stock that I had cut at 2-5/8" x 3-5/8". I wanted to make this into a sticker so it would be easier to work with.

A piece of vellum was cut at just a hair less than 2-5/8" x 3-5/8" and attached to the back of the Basic Black frame. 

On the backside of the vellum image, I colored in the areas using Blends pens. I used dark Granny Apple Green for the leaves. For the small flowers I used light Highland Heather and for the large flowers I used dark Highland Heather.

The Basic White layer was cut at 3" x 4" and the Basic Black layer was attached to it. 

Using Lemon Lolly card stock and the small flower die, I cut three flowers for the centers of the three larger flowers on the framed piece. I set them in place using glue. 

The layered piece was taped to the front of the card about 3/8" from the top edge and 5/8" from the side edges.  

The words were done on my computer. I cut them out using the stitched ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set and affixed them to the front of the card using Dimensionals. I had those word pieces all cut out and sitting on my worktable. I thought I should use them up before they get ruined. 

I took some black baker's twine and cut it at 14". I folded it in half and tied a bow.  The bow was glued to the bottom corner of the frame and the card was done.

I love the stained glass look and I was thrilled that I could make this card. It's SO pretty in real life!

All Aflutter, Velvet Meadow, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cloud Cover card stock. Before taping it down I cut the scallop from the center using the 4th die in the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle. I set the piece aside and taped the large layer to the front of the card.

The floral layer is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I cut my piece at 3-3/4" x 5" and I taped it to the Cloud Cover layer.

Next I stamped the words from the same bundle using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 3rd circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. I taped the Basic White circle to the Cloud Cover scalloped circle. I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the center of the card.

I fussy cut the flowers and leaves and set them in place on the scalloped circle piece. 

The butterflies are from the "All Aflutter" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink on Basic White card stock. I punched out using the matching punch. I set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting. It didn't take long to do the fussy cutting since it was pretty easy edges to cut. I do like how it turned out.

Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun, quick and easy Halloween card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Basic Black piece and then that was taped to the front of the card. 

Next I cut the pieces for the long panel. The back layer is a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock that measures 4-1/2" x 2-1/4". On top of that is a 4-3/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Basic Black card stock and on top of that is a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of DSP from the same package. I taped these layers together and added Dimensionals to the back. The panel was set in place on the left side of the card about 1/2" from the top and bottom edge and also from the fold. 

I cut two ghosts using the dies in the "Oh My Fright" bundle on a piece of vellum. I also cut the bats from the same bundle using Basic Black card stock. 

The words were stamped from the same bundle using Basic Black ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 1-3/4" die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used a retired circle set and cut a Basic Black piece using the 1-7/8" circle die.  I taped the two circles together. Dimensionals were added to the right side and tape to the left. The circle layer was set in place about 1/4" from the right edge and 3/4" from the bottom edge. I didn't press down on the taped side.  I added a little bit of glue to the right side of the ghosts and slipped them under the circle a bit to hold them in place and to hide the glue.

I cut pieces of Dimensionals and added them to the back of the bat's wings and I set them in place on the panel.

I was going to call the card one but one of those little stinkin' cute bats from the adhesive-backed "Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package.  I don't know which I like better, the cute bats or the adorable ghosts!  I think it's a tie!

This was a fun, very quick and super easy card to make. It's one of my favorite layouts/sketches.

Og My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. It actually wasn't a card, it was a tag but I worked it into a card. You can see the tag by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the largest layer. I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Basic Black piece and that was then taped to the front of the card base.

Using the third largest die in the "Everyday Arches" set I cut one of Basic Black card stock and then using the 4th largest, I cut one of Basic White card stock.

On the Basic White arched piece, I took a blending brush and scrubbed on some Pumpkin Pie ink at the bottom and another brush and scrubbed on some Gorgeous Grape ink. I took my mister and gave it a few sprits. My mister was a pretty light one so I didn't get the big glops of watermarks like the original one did. But it's okay, I like how the background looks. I set it aside to dry.

While the piece was drying, I cut the tree and bats using Basic Black card stock and the dies from "Oh My Fright" bundle. The moon was cut using Lemon Lolly card stock and I brushed the edges using Lemon Lolly ink to highlight it a bit more.

I cut a ghost using a piece of vellum. 

Once the arched piece was dried, I glued it to the Basic Black arched layer. I used glue because the Basic White piece warped from the water. 

The words are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle using Basic Black ink and were stamped at the lower left of the arched piece. 

When I cut my tree, I used a piece of a double sided sheet because I wanted it to be a sticker. Gluing down those branches is not fun so adding the adhesive sheet to the back made it easier to stick in place. I removed the backing and then added the vellum ghost to the back of the tree after I removed the backing from the tree. I pressed the ghost in place and then added a bit of glue where the ghost is touching the tree. Glue anywhere else will show through the ghost. The amount I added where the tree showed through the ghost was enough to hold it in place. The tree was set in place on the edge of the top arch. 

The moon was added next and it was glued in place.

I cut pieces of dimensionals and added it to the wings of the bats. The original piece using a large bat and I liked it, I actually put one on the card but I removed it because my tree was up too high so there wasn't a lot of room and it looked crowded. So I added the smaller bats. I actually like them better.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the arched layers and it was set in place on the front of the card. I centered it by eyeing it. I always figure that if it looks centered to my eyes, it's centered enough.

Those cute little ghost were added last. They are from the "Adhesive-backed Bats, Ghosts & Dots" package. They are just too cute!  And that was it, the card was done!

This was a fun card to make. I love the colors and all the activity going on here. I can't wait to play with this bundle again!

Stitched Season, Stitched Stocking, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun to make Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. I did change it a little but for the most art it looks similar. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Garden Green. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock. In the center of that piece I cut the largest arch layer from the "Everyday Arches" set using the 4th die. Then I taped the large layer on top of the card base.

The next layer is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Stitched Season" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the Real Red large layer.

Then I die cut the Basic White piece using the 5th die in the "Everyday Arches" set. The words are from the "Stitched Stocking" bundle and were stamped using Real Red ink.

There's a fun tree die in the "Stitched Stocking" bundle. I cut the tree from a piece of DSP in the same package. The die sort of cuts the tree but it's still stuck at it's corners. I took my snips and cut the tree out of the piece. Then I took that same die and cut one of the red DSP from the same package and I taped that clipped tree from the green piece. The square was taped to the Basic White arched piece.

I taped the two arches together and set it on the front of the card base using Dimensionals. 

I tied a stitched red bow and glued it to the front of the card. 

I have a huge collection of buttons that were from my mom and many of them were from her mom (my grandma). I dug trough them and found a small white one. I set it on top of the bow using a glue dot. I took some mono glue and a toothpick and added a little glue to the top edge of the button. I dipped it in some silver glitter and let it dry while I wrote up this post.

This was a fun card to make. I LOVE all of the pieces in the set and while looking at other cards using this set I found one that was SO beautiful that I am going to have to give it a try. It has lots of pieces and sometimes those cards take me a few days to do because I just do little parts at a time. I do look forward to making it in the near future or tomorrow (if I'm to anxious to make it LOL).

Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and thought it was so pretty. I just had to make it. You can see the original card by clicking here. There were no instructions on how to make it so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Barely Blush card stock for the largest layer. I taped it to the card base.

The Basic White layer was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and was textured using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

I didn't have the gingham paper so I used the Buffalo Plaid that I had. I cut it at 3-7/8" x 2". I glued this to the front of the card about 2" up from the bottom of the card base.

The poinsettia petals were cut from Barely Blush card stock using the dies from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle. This is the second poinsettia card I made using this bundle and I struggle with putting the petals together. There's no way to make this into a rounded flower, it's got a bit of a boxy look.  I put the four layers of petals together using a little bit of glue. A little is all you need. There's not a big space to put the glue. I did add a small circle to the back and worked on top of that. 

The leaves and flower center were cut from a gold piece card stock. I cut the large leaf spring at the top three leaves and I cut the other three leaves off separately. I glued the little flower center pieces on top of each other. The dies cut four but I only used three.  I set the flower aside while I worked on the word piece.

The words are from the same "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle and were stamped using Versa Mark on Basic White card stock. I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it and heat set it. I cut it out using the third largest stitched rectangle die from the "Nested Essentials" die set.  dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside while I searched for some ribbon with gold in it. 

I cut a 5-1/2" piece of the ribbon and folded it in half. I added a glue dot to hold it together. Then I added another glue dot to affix it to the front of the card. 

The backing on the dimensionals on the word piece was removed and it was set in place over the ribbon.

Then the poinsettia was added using glue. Once it was in place, I added the other three leaves to the left side of the flower and that was it, the card was done.

This card gave me a bit of a struggle with the poinsettia petals but all in all it turned out. I think adding the extra leaves helped make it not look so boxy. I like the looks of it and I love the color.

Stitched Stocking, A Stitched Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. I think the original card using Secret Sea card stock but I didn't have a full sheet left so I opted for black. Besides, I think the color around cardinals eyes is supposed to be black, so I went with the black. I taped a 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White to the inside. I also cut another 5-1/4" x 4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the front. I should have waited with that because of the stenciling but I wasn't thinking.  Well, I kind of was, I was thinking, "I don't have that stencil."  But I was able to make that stencil using the die in the "Stitched Stocking" bundle. I cut the card stock for the stencil to fit the area and then I used a blending brush and Real Red ink to stencil it.  To make sure I had the stencil were I wanted it, I lightly traced around the center diamond shaped piece using a pencil. Once I saw where my stencil should line up, I erased the pencil marks. I used a kneadable eraser. I can not express enough how great these erasers are. They only pick up the graphite and never mess up the texture of the paper. Being it's kneadable, I will take a piece off of it and from it into a tube that will fit in my mechanical pencil. I just have to have it easily available. Okay, sales pitch done! LOL  And after looking at the original card, though it was a bit out of focus, the right side could have been die cut and red card stock added behind it. I like the stencil look myself. 

The green strip measures 2" x 5-1/4" and it's from the "A Stitched Season" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I taped it to the front of the card about 3/8" from the edge of the Basic White layer.

I cut the birds next. They are from that same sheet of DSP. You get two sheets of this design and on those sheets there's only one bird that faces left so when I cut the DSP for the strip, I made sure I avoided the birds. 

There's a die in the set that has a present on it and I think that was what was used on the original card for the layer behind the birds. It didn't dawn on me until the card was finished that that's where the square probably came from.  I just measured the bird piece and cut the Basic Black squares accordingly.  They measure 1-5/8" x 1-5/8" each. I taped the birds on top and taped each bird to the front of the card. I lined up the bottom edge on the bottom one so it looked like there was equal spacing on the bottom and both sides. I did the same with the top bird.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped with Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock that I pre-cut to 2" x 1-1/4".  I usually stamp my words and cut the paper after but here I wanted to make sure I had the exact size I needed.  I taped the word piece to the center of the card. I just eyed it. 

I didn't have the dark stitched ribbon that was used on the original card but I did have some retired Real Red stitched ribbon, so I used it and it worked just fine.

For the bling, I didn't have the buttons that were used in the so I added a couple of retired "Polished Dots" and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make but a bit disappointing that I can only make two like this. I might just hang on to the other bird to see if something on Pinterest comes up using it. Something that I just have to give a try to.

Pretty Poinsettia, Scalloped Wishes, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I fund a super pretty Christmas card on Pinterest and I just had to make it. You can see the original card by clicking here. I love it when friends have different stamp sets then you do. You get to play with more of the ones you wanted but had to draw the line when purchasing. And I love it even more when they go on vacation and leave the stamp sets with you! LOL Please read on to see how this card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Barely Blush card stock. In the center of that piece I cut the scalloped oval from the "Scalloped Wishes" bundle. Then I taped the Barely Blush layer on the card base. Then I took a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I think it's a versatile folder, it can be used for Halloween and Christmas! I glued this piece on top of the Barely Blush layer. 

The poinsettia petals were cut next from Barley Blush card stock. The centers were colored in with a blending brush and Strawberry Slush ink. I ended up cutting and extra set of petals, the large back one. 

The center was stamped using Golden Glow ink and was cut out using the matching die from the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle. 

Peaceful Pine card stock was used for the leaves. 

The words are from the same "Pretty Poinsettias" bundle using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the same die I used for the scalloped oval. I set the word piece back in the oval and turned it over. I added Dimensionals and made sure they touched where the two colors meet to hold them both in place. I set it in place on the lower right of the card. The scalloped bumps, bottom and right are just a hair inside the line of the textured piece. 

I had a bit of an issue getting the petals put together. I just couldn't get it to look rounded so I ended up cutting that extra back set of leaves. I used a little bit of glue to hold them together. The center of the flower was also glued in place.

The leaves were added to the back. I couldn't get the stem to stick out with flowers on it so I ended up cutting off the stem. I just didn't think it looked good with just a stem sticking out. I also cut a few leaves off and place them around the flower.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some retired "Candy Dots" in Pretty in Pink so I added them to the front of the card and the card was done.

I just thought this card was so pretty that I had to make one. I do like how it turned out, even with my subtle changes.

Fun For Fall, Fragrant Layers, Friendship Card, Scarecrow Card, Stampin' Up

Hello and welcome to my blog. I can't tell you how much fun I had making this card. It's got lots of pieces and lots of things going on to get it done. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Golden Glow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the front I had taken a piece of Basic White card stock and stamped it using a buffalo plaid stamp and Golden Glow ink. I cut it to measure 1-1/2" x 5-1/4".  I taped it to the right side of the card.

Using the leaves from the "Seasonal Cheer" mini embossing folders. I took my brayer and inked it up with Golden Glow ink and ran it across the smooth side of the embossing folder. I trimmed the piece to 2-3/4" x 5-1/4" and glued it to the left side of the card, overlapping the buffalo plaid piece.

The scarecrow from the "Fun For Fall" bundle was stamped next using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I also stamped the crow at the same time. I cut both out using the matching dies. 

Using blends pens I colored the two pieces. I have a handful of Blends pens to put back! For the had and overalls I used light Misty Moonlight. For the shirt and hat band, I used light Real Red. The straw was colored in using light Pumpkin Pie. Light Shaded Spruce was used for the scar and patches. Ivory was used for the scarecrow's face. Light Peaceful Pine was used for the grass at the bottom of the post. The post was colored in using dark Pecan Pie. I also used it on the two buttons and the crow's eye. The crow was colored in using the light Basic Black pen.

Now that all of that coloring was done, I began die cutting the other pieces. The corn stalks were cut from Peaceful Pine card stock. The corn was cut from a scrap piece of Golden Glow and the fence was cut from Early Espresso. I cut two sets of corn stalks and two fences. 

Using Basic White card stock I used the 4th largest die from the "Everyday Arches" set. I took a blending brush and scrubbed on some Peaceful Pine on the bottom area and Hydrangea Hue in for the sky.

The fence was glued together and the ends were trimmed off so it fit nicely in the arched area. 

I glued the cobs to the corn stalks. I took my Crushed Curry marker (I kept my markers) and drew lines on the cobs to show the kernels.  The corn stalks were die cut in a set of 3 that were fused together. I trimmed off the end ones side they would be hidden behind the scarecrow and I figured I'd just use them to make the sides look fuller. I added tape to the tops of the corn stalks and on a few of the leaves. I set them in place on the arched piece.

Next the scarecrow was added using Dimensionals.  Here's where you'd just want to set the scarecrow where it's going to go so it would be easier to add the words. I didn't do it that way! (don't ask why! LOL). Once the scarecrow was affixed, I added the fence by placing Dimensional pieces to the two side posts and glue on the two middle ones.

The scarecrow was added using two small Dimensionals and that part was done. I set the piece up on my MISTI and stamped the "hello" from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle using Basic Black ink.

I glued the back of the arched piece and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I had SO much fun making this card. I love the colors and the fall feel it has.

Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and I added a little more to it. You can see the original card by clicking here. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. It was taped to the front of the card base.

The ghosts and bats are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle. I cut the bats using Basic Black card stock and the ghosts from Basic White card stock. I added Dimensionals to the backs of each of them and set them in place on the front of the card.

I took some black ribbon that I had and folded a 6" piece in half, opened it up a bit and taped it to the lower right side of the card.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. Using a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set I cut them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the ribbon.

I added a tiny bat from the "Bats & Ghosts & Dots" embellishment package to the word piece and the card was done.

It was a fun card to make and the pieces were fun to play with. I like it better with the bats and that little bat embellishment its just too darn cute!

Framed Violets, Eyelet Blooms, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Highland Heather card stock for the largest layer. 

On top of the Highland Heather layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White which was die cut using the "Eyelet Blooms" die. I have a love/hate relationship with that die. I love how it looks but I hate popping dots out. My cardstock came out pretty clean, just a few dots stuck on the sheet and were easily popped out. I was thrilled. Then I looked at the die and the holes are full of card stock. So I had to remove them with the brush thing on the "Take Your Pick" tool. The hate part comes in that it took a bit of time to remove them all. But it's done and ready for the next die cutting. For my piece, I added dots of glue around the most solid parts so I could get it to stick to the Highland Heather layer.

Next I stamped the scalloped oval piece. It was a bit difficult to work with because it has an oval opening and it was hard to get the oval even all the way around.  I held it above my MISTI and just dropped it in hopes that it would lay in it's natural form. I cut it out using the matching die and it was close. I did have to hand trim on the lower left side and bottom. But it's hidden so you can't see it's uneven.

I used the dotted stamp in the same "Framed Violets" bundle using Highland Heather ink that was stamped off once. 

The flowers from the same set were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the matching die. I colored the flowers with light and dark Highland Heather Blends pen and the leaves were colored using the Peaceful Pine Blends pens. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the oval. I added a couple small pearls to the center of the two flowers.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on Basic White card stock and punched out using the "Timeless Label" punch. I also punched out a Highland Heather piece that I cut in half and taped each half to the word piece. 

I set the oval in place using Dimensionals and then the word piece was set in place by adding tape to the top and Dimensionals to the bottom.

Two tiny pearls were added to the center of the flowers and the card was done.

This was a simple, quick and easy card to make, it's the cleanup that took the longest. I do like how it turned out though I think it would look a little better if I had scrubbed on some Highland Heather ink in the center area of the oval.

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have one more masculine birthday card to share with you before I move on to something else. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock for the largest layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Crumb Cake piece and then that was taped to the front of the card base.

Next I cut the boats image from a sheet full of fun images to play with. It's from the same package of DSP. It was trimmed to measure 3" x 2-1/4". I taped it to a 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Crumb Cake card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I fussy cut a bobber, a fish and a lifejacket from the same package of DSP.

Three pieces of hemp thread was cut about 7" long each.  I added a little bit of glue to hold them in place just a little to the left of center. Then I set the boats layered piece in place over the hemp strips. It's about 7/16" from the top and left side of the card edges.  The hemp pieces just curled like that on their own. I tried to straighten them and they wouldn't budge so I just went with them the way they were. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the lifejacket and it was set in place on the upper right of the card.

I taped the bobber in place on the lower left of the card and then the "Happy Birthday" was added. It was printed on my computer and cut using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. It was set in place using Dimensionals. 

Dimenisonals were also added to the fish and it was set in place on the lower right.  

I took two pieces of the hem and tied a knot and glued it to the boats image. I just thought it needed a little something.  

I trimmed the ends of the hemp pieces and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting.  This fish was one of the not so fun ones to cut out of all of the fish on the sheet but I stuck with it because I thought it was the best choice for this card. It was fun to use that boats image. I thought it might live in the package forever!

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another masculine card I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did change it a bit. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cajun Craze for the largest layer. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. I cut a. 3-3/4" x 5" piece and taped it to the front of the card. I could have cut it at 2-1/4" x 5" but I just decided to use the whole piece. 

I cut a 1-5/8" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and scrubbed on some Pool Party ink on using a blending brush. I taped that piece on top of the DSP. I taped mine on the left side because I wanted the Cajun Craze lifesaver to show instead of covering it.

I took a 1/4" x 5" piece of Pool Party card stock and taped it where the Basic White piece and DSP met.

Three life jackets were fussy cut for the left side. I set them in place using Dimensionals/

The words were done on my computer and I have a bunch of them that I had printed and die cut and set aside (and recently found them!). I took the scrap that came from trimming a quarter sheet of Cajun Craze and taped it to the back of the word piece on the top and bottom and I trimmed the ends to match the angle of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some colored raindrops/dewdrops and glued them to the left side of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun and very quick card to make. I thought it was such a nice looking card and I just had to make one.

Waterside Retreat, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and just had to make it. I have struggled with the gull background paper and this card answered my call. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock for the largest layer.

The gull layer from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DPS) measures 3-3/4" x 5" and it was taped to the top of the Pool Party layer. And then that was taped to the front of the card.

Next I cut the lifesaver and bobber images from another sheet of DSP from the same package. It measures 2-1/4" x 3". I cut a 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of Secret Sea card stock for the layer. I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card about 1/2" from the fold and the top edge of the card base. 

I used the fourth largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" on a piece of Basic White card stock. I had fussy cut a lifejacket and set it in place on top of the circle using Dimensionals. I added tape to the back of the circle and set it in place on the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold and 1" from the top edge of the card base. 

A 2-7/8" x 1/2" strip of DSP was cut for under the word piece. The word piece I used was made on my computer and cut out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set.  I had printed a sheet of these words and die cut them all so I could use them to make quick cards. Unfortunately I had put them all in one little baggie and then misplaced the baggie. I found it the other day and now I'm going to use them up so I don't misplace them again. 

This was a fun card to make. I like it SO much better in person than on screen and on screen I thought it was very pretty. I love how all of these colors went together and I'm thrilled that I could use the gulls background piece on a card that was so pleasing to my eyes.  I'd like to make more like this to add to my masculine stash. I know I have lots of the gulls background paper!  I think this was the first time I had used it.

Fern & Flora, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that I glued on a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock that was textured using the "Fern & Flora" embossing folder.  I set this under my stamping mat to firm up and lay flat. 

In the meantime I did some die cutting. I used the 3rd and 4th largest dies in the "Everyday Arches" set, I cut the Berry Burst colored Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Moonlit Flora" 12" x 12" package. I also cut the bottom flora piece. I used a 1-1/2" wide strip and set it in the die so I could get the dotted edges around the sides and bottom.  I taped this piece to the Berry Burst colored piece of DSP.

I cut two Basic White borders so I could have a double thick frame. I glued one of the Basic White pieces to the front of the card and I centered it as much as I could. Then I glued the Berry Burst colored piece in place in the center of the framed piece. I glued the other Basic White frame on top of the first one.  

Then I cut a circle using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used the third largest one in the set. 

Using the dies in the "Fern & Flora" bundle, I cut the greenery using Mossy Meadow, Old Olive, Berry Burst and Soft Sea Foam card stock. I didn't like how light the Soft Sea Foam piece was so I took a blending brush and Soft Sea Foam ink and scrubbed on some color over it until I liked the new look. 

I added tape to the bottoms of the greenery pieces and set them in place on the circle. I didn't add the Berry Burst colored one yet, I set it aside.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the circle and it was set in place on the front of the card. 

The words were done on my computer. I had printed and die cut a bunch of them and I ran across them so I thought I'd just use them. Obviously I printed and cut them to use them! I cut them using the ribbon die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I added tape to the left and Dimensionals to the right and set it in place on the front of the card over the area where the bottom DSP edge shows. 

A little tape was added to the Berry Burst greenery piece and it was tucked in under the word piece and the card was done.

I am happy with the way this card turned out. I had no idea what I was doing when I started making it but it all came together and I ended up with a card I liked.

Velvet Meadow, Banner Sayings, All Aflutter, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I cut another piece of DSP from the same package. It measures 3" x 4-1/4".  And the Cloud Cover layer behind it measures 3-1/4" x 4-1/2".  I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card. I just eyed it when I centered it.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  They were punched out using the "Three Banner" punch. The "Banner Sayings" had a die cut with it in the previous catalog and it has a lot of different shapes. I die cut the oval piece for the layer behind the word piece. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place on the Cloud Cover elongated oval piece. I taped the word piece in place on the front of the card about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the card. 

I fussy cut some flowers and leaves from another sheet of DSP and taped and tucked them under the word piece. 

I stamped a butterfly from the "All Aflutter" bundle. I stamped it using Berry Burst ink and punched it out using the matching punch. I added Dimensionals to the left and center and set it in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, even with the fussy cutting!

Easter Time Mix & Match Ephemera, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and made a few minor changes. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-3/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer of the Designer Series Paper (DSP). The DSP is from the "Paper Medley" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the Gorgeous Grape layer and that was taped to the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The watering can and the greenery on the sides, plus the purple flower is from the "Easter Time" mix & match ephemera package.  I ran across this package that was hardly used and thought I should make a card using it. 

I also had the package of "Softest Spring Mix & Match" puffy stickers and when I ran across this card on Pinterest I was thrilled to see that I could use both on one card. I added the two butterflies. I only had one small one so I used a large one. It's still pretty.  There's a puffy heart on the watering can and one pink flower to the right. 

This was a very quick and easy card to make and I was glad I was able to use more from those packages.

The words were done on my computer a while ago. I ran across those too. There's a little baggie that has quite a few of them in it. I cut a 2" x 5/8" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock for the layer. The corners were rounded and the words were added. I taped the words to the layer and it was glued in place on the front of the card. I had added the glue to the watering can so I knew exactly where it was so I could put the words on nicely.  

This was a super quick and easy card to make. As I look at it I think it would have looked better if I would have textured the front of the Highland Heather card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Waterside Resort" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

I cut a 1-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. It's taped to a 2" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place 1-1/8" from the top edge and 1/2" from both sides.

Next I cut the circle. I used the second largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set on Very Vanilla card stock.

I fussy cut the oars, life jacket and fish from another sheet of DSP. I taped the oars and life jacket in place. 

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" set using Basic Black ink. I had punched the word piece from a piece of DSP that has the life jackets on the other side. I just lined up the stripes and punched it out using the "Three Banner" punch.  I added Dimensionals to the left side and tape to the right side. I set the words piece in place and then the fish was added using Dimensionals.

I took my Wink of Stella pen and went over the fish to give it a bit of a shimmer.

This was a fun card to make and I had no complaints fussy cutting because it's pretty easy angles on the images.

Waterside Resort, Scalloped Blooms, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock. It open son the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

I used the boats image from another sheet of DSP in the same package. It's trimmed to 3" x 2-1/4" and it was taped to a 3-1/4" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic Gray card stock for the layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper left side of the card about 1/2" from the left edge and 1/2" from the top edge. 

A 2-1/4" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the word piece. The words are from the "Scalloped Blooms" bundle and was stamped using Basic Gray ink. I taped it to a 2-1/2" x 2" piece of Basic Gray card stock for the back layer.  I added some tape to the upper left corner and Dimensionals to the rest of it and it was set in place about 1/2" from the bottom edge and 1/2" from the right edge. 

I fussy cut a fish and a bobber from some of the other sheets of DSP in the same package.  Dimensionals were added to the backs of both and they were set in place on the front of the card.

I ran across some really old embellishments that I believe were called "rain drops". I glued them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a pretty quick card to make. I thought it was a fun card to make and I was happy to have used that little boats image from one of the sheets on DSP.  Fussy cutting the two pieces wasn't tough to do mostly because there wasn't a lot of jagged edges to move around.

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine card to share with you using a simple layout. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

The Mossy Meadow is the largest layer and was cut at 4" x 5-1/4" and taped to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package. It measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". I taped this to the front of the card on top of the Mossy Meadow card stock.

The image is from another sheet in the same package of DSP. I used the second largest stitched square in the "Stylish Shapes" die set to cut it out. The layer behind it was cut using the largest square in the same die shape set on a piece of Old Olive card stock.  I taped the two squares together and then taped them to the front of the card. I debated whether or not to add Dimensionals behind it and opted not to. 

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  I punched it out using the "Three Banner" punch. I also punched out a Mossy Meadow one and I sliced it in half on the long side. I taped each half to the top and bottom of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. Simple layer cutting and die cutting.  I really like this cabin image. This card could easily be a masculine sympathy card or a masculine get well card.

Delicate Dreams, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found this on Pinterest. It's supposed to be a fun fold card but I don't do too many of them because some of the recipients don't know what to do with them. Like self-standing ones or flipping ones. So if I like the looks of the layout then I'll run with that and omit the fancy/fun part. You can see the original card by clicking here.  While there I saw a few more cards that caught my eye. They may be showing up in a few days! Maybe!  Please read on to see how I put today's card togehter.

For the base of my card I used a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Secret Sea card stock. Before taping it to the front, I cut the large layer from it's center. I used the 4th largest die in the "Branching Out" bundle. 

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock was cut for the second largest layer. On top of that layer I taped the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12" x 12" package. I had cut the piece at 3-3/4" x 5-1/8"". I trimmed each strip to 1-7/8" x 5-1/8". I flipped one strip over and taped them to the front of the card. 

The focal piece was next. Using the 5th largest die in the "Branching Out" dies, I cut a one of Basic White card stock. I stamped the flowery looking greenery image from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle using Crumb Cake ink.

I cut several "greenery" pieces using the dies in the "Delicate Whispers" bundle. I cut one of Basic White and using the same die, I cut one of Crumb Cake card stock. There are two smaller thin ones on the upper left area and those were cut using Basic Beige card stock. Those pieces were glued in place. I just added a little bit of glue on some of the middle wider areas and set them in place on the focal piece. 

The flowers were cut using another piece of the DSP. I cut five large and five small and glued them together. Then they were glued in place on the front of the card. I added little pearls to the center of each flower. The piece was then taped to the Secret Sea layer. Dimensionals were added to the back of that and it was set in place on the center of the card. I just eyed it. I always figure that if it looks centered to me then it's centered enough!

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock using Pecan Pie ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. I doubled stacked the Dimensional on the right end so it didn't droop.  It was a bit too long to hang over the focal piece without drooping. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I really did enjoy making it. I could see myself making more in the future.

Knitted Hooded Cowl, Craft Fair

 Here's the knitted Hooded Cowl I have been working on. It's fun to make and I just work on it a little bit at night in front of the tv. I could probably whip them out pretty fast if I wanted but I just work on them at my leisure.  I make them on a flatbed knitting machine. There's several steps to do after it comes off the machine that seem to take more time to do than actually knitting them. But I think it's worth it. 

I just finished a light yellow brushed yarn one last night. As soon as my web store is up and running they will be in there. But for now they are in a box waiting not only for the web store but for the craft fairs this fall (which is coming up fast!).

Waterside Resort, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I still had my "Waterside Resort" Designer Series Paper (DSP) sitting on my worktable (mostly because I don't put things back right away!).  I found this card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try since I really didn't need to get many supplies out. You can see the original card by clicking here. From the image that was cut from a sheet of the DSP, there were two boats in the water and you can make two cards fro that one cutting.  I did make two cards from that cutting but I'm only posting one of them. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock for the largest layer.

The DSP on the left was cut at 5" x 2-1/4". I taped it in place.

I die cut the image using the second largest rectangle die in the "Nested Essentials" set and the Old Olive layer was cut using the largest rectangle die in that set. Before taping the two rectangles together, I added a 1-1/8" strip of DSP around the Old Olive rectangle. Then the boat image was taped down. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card.

On my worktable I had found the "Happy Birthday" that looks like it was printed on my computer and punched out using a retired oblong punch.  I thought I'd use it before it got ruined. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the bottom and 1/4" from the right edge. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I was glad I was able to use up some things sitting on my worktable.  It was fun to get two cards done in a short time. I need to get my masculine card stash built up.

Waterside Retreat, Phrases & Frames, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy thinking of you card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold was on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue card stock for the large layer. 

Using one of the images on a sheet in the "Waterside Resort" 12" x 12" package, I trimmed it to 3-3/4" x 5" and I taped it to the Balmy Blue layer.  Then that was taped to the front of the card.

Now came some fussy cutting. I love the full sheet of bikes and it's too bad I didn't have a die for them but I don't really mind fussy cutting. SO I picked out a bike I liked on the sheet and cut it out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the lower left side of the card. Right in the sand!

Next I did a little searching my current sets for the words. I found these in the "Phrases & Frames" bundle and they were stamped using Basic Black ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I didn't like how bright it was so I toned it down a bit by taking the belly of the light Balmy Blue Blends pen and added a bit of color to the edge. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper right area of the card. And that was it, the card was done.

My plan for today's post was to make a quick and easy card because I'm in the middle of making a hooded cowl or is it called a cowl neck snood? Either way, I'm working on it and if I get it done tomorrow, I will post a pic of it on here.  I need to get a dozen of them done for the fall craft fairs.
