Wooly Friends, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here. I changed a couple of things due to supplies oh hand. I was so excited to play with this set. I had gotten it for my birthday from my sister and I received it today. I couldn't wait to play with it. I need to find my wiggly "things" that make the head bobble.  I think that would look so cute on this card. If you click on the "visit site" you will be taken to the original posters page. There she has a PDF file you can download with the instructions on how to make the card. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Bubble Bath. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4' piece of Peach Pie card stock. I taped that to the front of the card. On top of that is a piece of DSP from the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" card stock. My piece was not 4" x 5-1/4" but I was able to cut it off at the right spot so I could use the two pieces and make it look like one!

I textured a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Bubble Bath using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I figured I'd probably use the rest on another card in the near future.  I didn't have the die used on the original card but I thought this texture looked nice too. You need to cut it at 1-3/4" x 3-7/8". The instructions tell you to cut it at 1-3/4" x 4".  I'm sure that would look nice too but looking at the piece on her finished card,  it needs to be cut at 3-7/8".

The arch was cut next. The instructions said to use the fourth from the largest. If you look at the largest die and count it as one, then you will be using the 5th die.

Next I stamped the flowers from the "Wooly Friends" stamp set and colored them using Blends pens. I used the recommended colors, light Soft Sea Foam and light Fresh Freesia. I didn't have the Peach Pie Blends, I tend to not purchase the in colors because they stick around long enough to justify buying them.  So I used my light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen.

The grassy area was colored in using the light Soft Sea Foam Blends pen and then grass was stamped using the image from the same stamp set.

Then I stamped the sheep's body, head and bow. I punched them out using the matching punch. I didn't punch out a blank piece so to use as a template to set the stamps in so I could just slip it into the punch and punch them all out at once.

I colored the body of the sheep and the top of the sheep's head using my light Bubble Bath Blends pen.

The bow was colored in using my light Fresh Freesia Blends pen.

I put the sheep together and then just laid it on the arch piece to see where the butterfly would go. I didn't do a good job getting a lot of the trail of the butterfly to show. But it is what it is. I colored the butterfly using the dark Fresh Freesia Blends pen.

The words were stamped next. They are from the same set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The sheep was then taped in place and the arch was glued in place on the front of the card.

I used some retired "Candy Dots" that I colored with my dark Fresh Freesia Blends pen to get a nice complimentary color to go with the card. I set them in place on the left of the arched piece and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I can't wait to play with some more. I'd love to make some baby cards using the lamb. Too cute, huh?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Simply Said, Brushed With Beauty, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest. I did go to the site and I tried to find the post but no luck. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Timid Tiger card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside. Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Beige card stock for the front. I textured that with the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I taped it to the front of the card.

Next I used the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package.  I cut the strip at 5-1/4" x 1-3/4" and I taped that to the center of the card.

The square piece of DSP was cut at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the Timid Tiger layer was cut at 3' x 3".  I taped the layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card.

The "hello" is from the "Simply Said" set and was stamped using Timid Tiger ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. It was cut from a die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. The die is large and it cuts out 18 different shapes at one time. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

For my embellishments, I used some retired "Candy Dots".  I'm still working on getting those used up! Once the dots were added the card was done.

I like how quick and simple this card was to make. Sometimes quick cards don't always turn out the nicest but this one has a very pleasant look to it. I'm happy with how it turned out.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Greenery Lane, Simply Said, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine card to share with you. I found a card on the internet and I liked the look of it but didn't have all the items to make it, so I made it with what I have. You can see the original card by clicking here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two pieces of card stock measuring 4" x 5-1/4". I taped one to the inside and the other I textured using the "Lovely Stripes" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card base.

Next I die cut the leaves from the "Greenery Lane" dies. I cut two of them. I didn't have the dies used on the original card but I used what I had and I think it worked.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the third die in the "Spotlight on Nature" dies.  Dimensionals were added to the back.

I laid the word piece on the front of the card and then I set the leaf branches under it. I moved them around until it was where I thought it looked best.  I removed the word piece and marked the end of the stems with a pencil on the textured piece so I knew where to put them when I was ready to glue them down.

Once the leaf branches were glued down I removed the backing of the Dimensionals were removed and the circle was set in place on the front of the card.

I glued on some (retired) "Itty Bitty Bokeh" mix.  I didn't want to use pearls because I wanted this to be more masculine. The background needed something but pearls wouldn't cut it. I thought these dots did the trick. And that was it, the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Fragrant Layers, Irresistible Designs, Easter Time Ephemera, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is o the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

The Flirty Flamingo piece was leftover from the card I made a couple of days ago. I used the "Irresistible Designs" 12" x 12" package. I had colored it using a blending brush and Flirty Flamingo ink. My piece measures 4" x 2-1/4". I glued it to the left side of the card about 1/2" on the three sides.

The "Hello" is from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I stamped the "Hello" using black Memento ink. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The watering can is from the "Easter Time" mix & match ephemera pack.  There's a lot of fun Easter and springtime images in this package. I have plans for several other images too. I'm going to be needing a few Easter cards (before Easter - hopefully! LOL) so I will be sharing them with you in the near future. Anyway, I added Dimensionals to the back of the watering can and I set it in place on the front of the card about 1" from the bottom and at the handle, it's 1/2" from the right edge.  I added the watering can first so I could see where the word piece would go.

Next I added the word piece. And for a final touch I added hearts from the "Loose Valentine's" assortment. I glued them in place and the card was done. I thought they were a nice touch. I will probably be using these a bit more because you get a LOT of them in a container and I'd like to use up as much as I can. I need to find a way to make a cute shaker card, that would use up quite a bit of the container!

This was a very quick, easy and fun card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Impressions Abloom, Banner Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a much simpler card than yesterdays.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder.  I glued this to the front of the card base.

Next I cut a 1-3/8" x 4-3/4" strip of Basic White card stock. At first I textured it using the "Stone & Vine" folder but it looked too busy on top of the brick and it really didn't go well together. So I just left it plain.

Then I worked on the flowers, stem and leaves. I used the "Impressions Abloom" bundle for this. The leaves and stems were cut using the dies in the bundle on a piece of Old Olive card stock.

The flowers were cut using Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. Using my blending brush I scrubbed on some Petal Pink ink on the edges first and then I lightly added some to the petals.

For the center I cut two using Lemon Lolly card stock. I used the same blending brush with Petal Pink ink (what was left on the brush) and I went around the edges to soften and tone them down a bit. I glued the centers to the flowers.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the matching dies in the bundle.

I glued the flower stem down first.  Now here's where I made my mistake. My eye wants to see the flower straight but with that angled strip and having the stem lined up on the bottom center, it looks crooked. I would recommend gluing the strip to the front of the card and going from there.  But I glued the stem to the strip (not on the card base) and then added the smaller flower. The large flower was added using Dimensionals. Then I glued the piece to the front of the card about 3/4" from the fold and even spacing on the textured top and bottom edges.

Dimensionals were added to the word piece and it was set in place on the lower part of the card about 1/2" from the bottom and 3/8" from the right side.

I added three hearts from the "Loose Valentine's" assortment container using glue and the card was done.

I think the flowers would have been prettier and would have gone better with the hearts had I made them in pink and not the color of the DSP.  But it is what it is and I learned a lot from this card! That's what it's all about, right? Learning and having fun!  And I did both!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Extraordinary Flora, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I decided quick and easy was out of the question. I needed to make a card that allowed me to spend some time on it plus some time in my workroom. I LOVE being in my workroom and I try to stay in it as much as I can. It's a mess. It's full. It's fun!  I found this card on Pinterest and you can see the original card by clicking here. I changed a few things but for the most part it's the same.  Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Melon Mambo.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card. You can tape it but it's too textured to allow tape to stick well. I prefer to glue textured pieces.

Next I cut a 1-1/2" x 3-5/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Irrestible Designs" 12" x 12" specialty paper. It's white with white glossy embossed images. This one has a checked line image. I used my blending brush and Flirty Flamingo ink to add color to it. I did use a paper towel to wipe it off once I was done coloring to remove any excess ink from the glossy parts. I glued this piece to the bottom of the textured piece about 1/8" on the bottom and two sides.

I cut a 3/8" x 3-5/8" piece of gold foil card stock and taped it to the top edge of the piece of DSP.

Next I die cut the arched pieces using the "Everyday Arches" set. I used the 5th largest one for the gold foil piece and the 6th largest one for the Basic White piece.

I stamped the "birthday wishes" from the "Simply Said" set on the Basic White piece using Crumb Cake ink.  I taped the piece to the gold piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 7/8" from the bottom and equal spacing on the sides.

The flowers are from the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape roll. I put the tape on a piece of Basic White card stock and then cut them out using the matching die set. Dimensionals were added behind the two large rose pieces and the other pieces were slipped under using glue to hold them in place.

I had some gold ribbon, tied a bow and glued it in place on the front between the two larger roses.

I added a couple of pink hearts from the "Loose Valentines" assortment container and the card was done.

This was fun and it did take a little time to make. It was easy but just time consuming and I'm glad I made it. I think it turned out nice and I really like the hearts on the upper part.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Extraordinary Flora, Greenery Lane, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a get well card to share with you. I found a card on Pinterest that used this layout so I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the card here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Strawberry Slush card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to the inside of the card.

The flowers are from the "Extraordinary Flora" roll of Washi tape.  I rolled it out on a piece of Basic White card stock and cut it to 5-1/4" x 3-1/4". I taped it to the front of the card base.

I took a 1" x 5-1/2" piece of Strawberry Slush card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder.  I glued that to the front of the card about 1/4" from the fold.

The words are from the "Greenery Lane" bundle.  I stamped them using black Memento ink. I cut them to 1" x 3-3/4" and the Strawberry Slush layer was cut at 1-1/4" x 4". I taped the two layers together. Dimensionals are added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 3/8" up from the bottom and 3/8" from the right side.

I added a "Candy Dot" (retired) to the front of the card and the card was done. I'll never use up those "Candy Dots" if I only use one at a time!! LOL

I love using the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape. The "Greenery Lane" also has a roll of Washi tape and I need to play with it a bit more. Maybe using it as a background like this card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,

Fragrant Layers, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 5"x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the top layer.

The best way to make the scored lines is turn the card stock over and start at the 1" mark make your first score line.  Then at 1/8" intervals make more score lines until you have 13 of them.

The flower was cut from the "Fragrant Layers" bundle on Basic White card stock. I also cut some leaves and little flowers at the same time.

I colored the little flowers using my blending brush and Cajun Craze ink. I also colored the large flowers (lightly) using the same blending brush with what ink was left on it. I got them a bit too dark and I think if I make a card like this again I'd probably use Daffodil Delight ink or maybe Pumpkin Pie.

The leaves were colored using Granny Apple Green and a blending brush.

The words are fro the same bundle and were cut with a die from the "Textured Notes" die set.

I glued the tiny flowers behind the openings of the large flowers. Dimensionals were added to the back. I added Dimensionals behind the word piece and on the scored piece.

I set the flowers piece in place on the left and the word place in the open area of the flower cluster.  I put a little glue on the bottoms of the leaves and set them in place on the front of the card.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the scored piece and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. It's extremely versatile too. I can see it as a birthday, get well, thinking of you or Mother's Day card. It would make a pretty wedding card without any color!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Charming Day, Floral Charm, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. My daughter-in-law has a birthday coming up so I thought I'd get her card made now. Please read on to see how it was made.

The bae of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the inside.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Timid Tiger card stock. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Floral Charm" 12" x 12" package. I taped the DSP to the Timid Tiger piece and then that was taped to the front of the card base.

Using the "Everyday Arches" set, I cut one of Basic White using the 5th largest die and one of gold foil card stock using the 4th largest one.

I took the Basic White piece and stamped the leaves from the "Charming Day" bundle and stamped Timid Tiger ink on it, stamping off and then stamping on the card stock. I was trying to keep it all stamped off but I forgot and stamped right from the ink pad. I had gotten into a rhythm and then I didn't! LOL So I added a couple more with full ink and called it done. I taped this piece to the gold foiled piece.

Next I die cut some flowers and leaves from the "Charming Day" bundle using Mossy Meadow card stock and Basic White card stock.  I cut a long stemmed flower in both Mossy Meadow and Basic White. I cut the flower head off the Basic White piece and colored it using a blending brush and Timid Tiger ink. I glued the flower head to the Mossy Meadow flower head.

I glued down a branch that has lot of leaves on it first, then the long stemmed flower. I tucked in the white leaf pieces around the stem area.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the arched layers and set it in place at an angle on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Charming Day" bundle and stamped them using Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card stock. I trimmed the piece to 2-5/8" x 7/8". I layered it on a 2-3/4" x 1" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the layer. I added Dimensionals to the bottom and sides. I added a little bit of tape to the upper center and set the piece in place on the front of the card.

For a final touch I added a couple of brass butterflies and the card was done.

This was a fun and easy card to make. I like the colors and the flower bud was my favorite part to make.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Banner Sayings, Sweet as a Bug, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. It was down this morning due to some maintenance thing by my webmaster but it's all up and running now. And now onto today's card. I found it on Pinterest. You can see that original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how I made mine with the materials I have.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One I taped to the inside and the other I taped on the front.

Using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder, I textured a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I glued it to the front of the card about 1/2" from the fold.

I didn't have the "Party Banners" dies (I thought I bought them) so I ended up using the largest die from the "Stylish Shapes" set and a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package.  I taped the piece in place on the front of the card, centering it from side to side as much as I could by eyeing it.  It's about 1-1/8" from the fold and right edge and about 1" from the top edge.

The butterfly is from the same package of DSP.  I used the fourth largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set to cut it out. I used the third largest die to cut a piece of Mossy Meadow for the layer. I taped the butterfly to that layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the front of the card. It's about 5/8" from the fold and 1-1/4" from the top edge.

The "Happy Birthday" is from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I stamped the words using Mossy Meadow ink and used one of the shapes from the "Banner Sayings" to stamp them on. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. It's about 2" from the bottom edge and the upper tip of the piece is about 1/4" from the right edge.

I took some retired enamel dots and added them to the upper part of the DSP piece.

This was fun and easy to make. I can see myself using this layout again in the future.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Banner Sayings, Brushed With Beauty, Quilt Technique, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thank you card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White that I textured using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I glued it to the Calypso Coral piece and that was taped to the front of the card.

Next came all of the fun cuttings.  I used "Brushed With Beauty" Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 12" x 12" package.  I cut my pieces at 1" wide. You will need 4 squares at 1" x 1".  Two of the main color and two of a contrasting color.

For the floral strip on the right I cut it at 2-3/8" long and I glued it to the front about 1-3/4" up from the bottom edge of the embossed piece.  After that, placement of the other pieces was a lot easier.

I cut my 4 squares in half on the diagonal.  I glued them in place starting with the coral one, butting it up to the 2-3/8" piece. Then I alternated the pieces to form the large square. Just three more pieces to go.

The bottom piece measures 3/4".  Make sure you set it in place to be sure it is long enough or too long. You could be a little off on the placement of the square but it's okay, just trim or add before you glue.

The left piece measures 3/4" and the top piece measures 1".

Once the pieces were glued in place, I set them aside to set up.

Next I stamped the words from the "Banner Sayings" bundle using Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using one of the die shapes on the large set of dies (they are all attached so you end up with lots of extra die cut shapes).

I added some linen thread to the center of the square. My points didn't look so great so it was nice that I was able to cover them up. I used a glue dot to hold half of the thread first and then I added another glue dot on top of those threads and pressed the others in after I gave them a twist to form a figure 8.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and it was set in place on top of the thread. Be sure not to put a Dimensional over the thread area or your word piece will stick up a bit higher on that end.

I added a brass butterfly for a little bling and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I rarely make "quilt cards".  I would like to try it again with different colors and maybe something different in the center of the squre.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thank you card,
Wanda

Simply Said, Brushed With Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock for the large layer.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I cut the four pieces at 1" x 1". Using the corner rounder, I rounded two opposite corners.

The Mossy Meadow layer behind the squares is cut at 1-1/8" x 1-1/8". And again I rounded two opposite corners.

I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow layer. Dimensionals were added to the back. Before removing the backing on the Dimensionals I set the pieces in place to see how much space I had for words.

I used the birthday wishes from the "Simply Said" set. They were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.

Once the stamping was done, I set the squares in place. Set the points to the center. I left about 1/8" space between the pieces.

I taped the large layer to the front of the card and the card was done.

This is such a quick and easy card to make and I like this layout. If (when) I make another one I think I would use an embossing folder on maybe another layer. I'll have to work with that.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Choose Happy, Cute as a Bug, Sweet Bugs, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 5-3/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock for the large layer. On top of that is a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package.  It was cut from one of the sheets with several other designs on it, like the one the ladybug is sitting on.  I taped the DSP to the large Mossy Meadow layer and then I taped that to the front of the card.

Speaking of that piece, I trimmed it a little so it measures 2-3/4" x 3-1/2" and the Mossy Meadow layer behind it measured 3-7/8" x 3-5/8".  I taped the two pieces together. Now this is where the "Hello" should have been stamped. It's from the "Choose Happy" set. I forgot and had to stamp it with the Dimensionals on the back. UGH! But it worked.  Anyway, once the words were stamped using black Memento ink, Dimensionals needed to be added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. I eyed it so there was equal spacing on the top, bottom and left side.

The ant, single flower, lily of the valley, mushrooms and ladybug were cut using the matching dies in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. Dimensionals were added to the back of all of them.  They were set in place on the front of the card. I made sure the lily of the valley one was behind the ant's body so it looked like it was part of the background. I had laid it on the DSP and it looked like it was floating in the air. But once the ant was in front of it, it looked like it was in the ground.  Nice save!

I was going to add one of those cute ladybug embellishments but I forgot. I'm not sure it needs it and I'll give it some more thought but for now this is what the card looks like.

This was a very fun card to make. It reminded me of those vinyl scenes I used to play with as a kid. I believe they were called "Color Forms".  I'm dating myself here! LOL. Except Color Forms weren't set up on Dimensionals but they were set on a background scene.  Anyway, it was a fun nostalgic little trip down memory lane.

Gears & Textures, Fabulous Sayings, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it's made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock and embossed the "happy birthday" from the "Fabulous Sayings" set using gold embossing powder (and Versa Mark).

I cut out several gears fro the "Gears & Textures" bundle using Basic Black card stock.

I glued the gears on the left side of the card front.

Then I taped the word piece in place.

I cut a 5-1/2" x 1/4" piece of gold foil card stock and glued it on top of the Basic Black word piece and overlapped it a bit to make the gears blend in better.  And that was it.

This was a very simple card to make with lots of pieces! It was fun gluing them on.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,

Cute as a Bug, Sweet Bugs, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One I taped to the inside and the other I taped to the outside.

Using a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I trimmed the piece at the top. I cut from the upper left point to 1-3/4" down from the top.

I took a piece of Old Olive card stock and cut it 4-1/4" x 2" and cut it diagonally.

The Basic White triangle was cut next. I cut the piece at 3-7/8" on the long side and 1-5/8" on the short side. If you cut your card stock at 3-7/8" x 1-5/8" you will get two pieces. One of them will be facing the way you want it. With the white piece it's not that important but with the DSP it is.

For the DSP piece it measures 1-5/8" on the short side and 3-5/8" on the long side. Again, if you cut a rectangle 1-5/8" x 3-1/8" and cut it in half on an angle you will have two pieces and one of them will face the direction you want. I messed my pieces up by trying to just cut it as it looks on the card instead of making a rectangle.  SO much easier cutting the rectangle.

Once those were cut I taped them together and then taped that to the Old Olive piece that was cut. I taped this piece to the front of the card. The narrow tip touched the upper left corner and the right tip touched the right edge. I lay my taped piece on top of my card but I never press down on it until I've got things adjusted to where I like it or where they belong. Once I got my tips matched up and then pressed down.

The circles is cut from a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock. I had originally cut it from Basic White but didn't like the look of the bug on it. So using the 4th largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut my circle.

The bug is from the same package of DSP. I cut it from the matching die in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. I laid it on the circle, holding it firmly I turned it over and traced the back of the circle so I would know where not to put the Dimensionals. The Dimensionals were added and I set the circle on top. I added tape to the back of the circle and set it in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on one of the shapes from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. When you cut one word on there you cut a bunch of other shapes. It's just one larger die and you get a variety of pieces. It was kind of nice to have something precut when it came to all the fussy figuring I had done with that triangle.  I stamped the words using Mossy Meadow ink and set it in place using Dimenisonals.

I added a little ladybug from the "Ladybug" embellishments package.  And the card was done.

Now that I have the measurements I'm going to use this layout again sometime. But first I have to make my copier paper sample so I have it for future reference.

Cute as a Bug, Friendly Foliage, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a get well card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute As A Bug" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card.

The dandelions image is from the same package of DSP. It came from a sheet filled with many images. I thought this one looked like a get well feel to it.  It was trimmed to measure 3" x 4".  I cut a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and taped the piece of DSP to it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Friendly Foliage" bundle and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on Basic White card stock. I fussy cut them out. I added pieces of Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place. I had originally cut the words in a rectangle shape but it took away from the grass and end of the dandelion stems. So fussy cutting was the only way to go and I'm glad I did. Placing the pieces of Dimensionals was a bit tricky but I managed to get them thin enough yet wide enough to work.

For a final touch I added the ladybug and clear dots from the "Ladybug Garden" epoxy shapes.  And that was it.

This was a quick and easy card to make. I just love the look of the dandelions.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,

Petals of Beauty, Brushed With Beauty, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another card with LOTS of layers! I had found this layout earlier this month but can't find the link to it. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on left.

Cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder on Basic White card stock. I glue it to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Basic White that was textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder.  I glued it to the '3" x 4-1/4" piece of card stock.

Next I cut the strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I cut the long strip at 3/4" wide x 4" and the smaller one (which is the backside of the first image) was cut at 3/4" x 2-3/4".

I stamped the "hello" from the "Simply Said" set using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut it out using the 4th largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set.

The flower was stamped from an image from "Petals of Beauty" bundle using Calypso Coral ink. I though it matched the flowers in the upper part of the DSP strip.  I cut the flower out using a matching die in the bundle.

I taped the long strip down first, centering it as much as possible by eyeing it. Then I glued the circle in place. The green strip was glued on next.

Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The flower was set in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

I love this layout and I do plan to use it again in the future.  I made my copier paper sample of this card (and I pencil in the date so I can refer to it if needed). I have a huge stack of copier paper card samples. I like to have them in 3D so I can visualize it better.

This was a very fun card to make and I can't wait to play with it again. Maybe tomorrow!  There's SO may things you can do with this layout.

Update on the beanie!  Here it is, flaws and all. I'll be selling it as "slightly irregular".  Every time I hear those two words I think of the store "Hurrah" from years ago that had a fun jingle, "It's slightly irregular, you hardly see or car...."  I just dated myself, didn't I?  LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Lovely & Beautiful, Fabulous Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and simple card to share with you. I got this idea from Lynette's "My Stamping Addiction" blog. She has a lot of fun cards on your blog, so if you have time, take a look.  You can see her card by clicking here. I like the lettering she used, it looks like a fun stamp.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Once cut in half it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used is from the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" package. I first cut it at 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" but I thought it was too long so I trimmed it to 2". I taped that to the top part of the card.

I cut a 1/8" strip of Old Olive card stock and glued it to the edge of the DSP.

The words are from the "Fabulous Sayings" set and were stamped using Old Olive ink. I had stamped over them a couple of times (using my stamp aligner) and the ink got a bit dark but it's okay it still looks fine.

This was actually by second attempt at this card. I had set up the words in my stamp aligner and I forget to get the ink pad. So I got the ink pad and then set my card back in the aligner. I didn't pay attention that I had the words aligned for them to be at the center area of the piece so when I stamped they were too low. I was going to just leave it but decided to make another one since the stamp was still in the aligner. As for the one I did wrong, I took that scrap of DSP that I trimmed off and taped it under the Old Olive strip and the words were back to being snug up against the DSP and now I have two cards!  Fun how you can fix a mistake so simply and have it work out!

Update on the beanie. I did end up finishing the ends and when I'm done here I'm going to make the removable pom pom for the top and then it's ready for it's debut! So stop back tomorrow to see it. I do plan on making another one since I learned SO much on what not to do! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Love Notes, Endless Love, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Valentine's Day card to share with you. I was going to work on one this weekend but with the weather being a bit more doable tomorrow I thought I'd make a Valentine's Day card tonight so I can bring it to my mom tomorrow when we go visit her. She's in a nursing home and I heard it takes 2 weeks for the residents to get their mail. I don't know if it's true but I thought I'd just bring her card tomorrow when I see her. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" stack. On the back of those hearts is the purple piece that you see on top of the hearts. That piece measures 2-7/8" x 5-1/4".

The strips were cut next. I thought the heart flowers were so cute so I cut 4 of them that measure 1" x 2-1/2" each. The Garden Green layer behind them measures 1-1/4" x 2-3/4".  I taped the pieces together and then taped them to the purple piece. Then that was taped to the hearts piece.

The Cherry Cobbler hearts were cut from the "Endless Love" die set.  Not thinking, I should have used a double sided sticky sheet before cutting them out. It would have made it much easier to set them in place. I had to use glue but it still got the job done, just a bit messier!

The "BE MY VALENTINE" sentiment piece is from the same "Love Notes" pack. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the bottom area of the card.

I used some of those cute hearts from the "Loose Valentine's" assortment container. They were glued in place to add a little more "bling" to the card. I liked the white ones because they just popped out on the green background.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside of the card and the card was done.

Now to write in it and get it set by my purse do I don't forget to bring it tomorrow.

Update on the beanie. You guessed it. Another failure. Though I did keep knitting to the end and I've been debating whether to finish it and sell it as an irregular or rip it apart for the 9th time and try again!  Persistent or stubborn?  I'm not sure which it is. Maybe crazy?? LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Valentine's Day card,

Sweet Bugs, Cute as a Bug, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside.

On the front I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package.  I taped it to the front of the card.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" and textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder.

On top of the textured piece is a 4-1/4" x 3" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and glued it to the Basic White piece.

I cut three strips of DSP from the same package. The two outside pieces measure 3/4" x 4" and the center strip is 1"" x 4". I taped them to the Mossy Meadow piece.

Next I cut a circle from Basic White card stock using the third largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I scrubbed on some Poppy Parade ink and set it aside.

Then I die cut the flowers and lady bug from the same package of DSP.

The words are from the "Sweet Bug" bundle and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink.  Punched it out using the "Labeled With Love" punch. I also punched out a Mossy Meadow piece and I cut it in half. I taped each half to the back of the word piece. Dimensionals were added to the word piece, the ladybug and the flower piece. I set the lady bug and flower piece in place on the circle and I set the word piece in place under the circle using Dimensionals.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the exposed brick piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I added a little lady bug embellishment from the "Ladybug Garden" epoxy shapes packages and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I love cards with lots of layers and this one sure does!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Love Notes, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I think I only need two more Valentine's Day cards and I'm set. It's so nice not to have to rush to make a card before a deadline!  Hope the rest of the year continues on that great note! (crosses fingers).  Please read on to see how today's card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut one of the images in the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" stack at 4" x 5-1/4". I taped that to the front of the card.

Actually, all of the pieces on this card are from the "Love Notes" stack. The "Be Mine" piece was trimmed to 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and the purple layer behind it was cut at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4".

I trimmed the "Happy Valentine's Day" piece to measure 2-1/4" x 1".  I should have cut it at 2-3/8" instead because the "Y" is awfully close to the right edge. I taped that to another piece from the stack. It measured 2-1/2" x 1-1/4".

Dimensionals were added behind both of the layered pieces and they were set in place on the front of the card. The top piece is about 1/2" from the top and 3/4" from each side.  And the word piece was set in place about 1/2" from the bottom edge and about 7/8" from the fold and right side.

I added some hearts from the "Loose Valentine's" assortment container. It's got red, pink and white hearts, plus some little black bordered envelopes with a heart in the middle and some pieces that look like candy jimmies you'd see on cupcakes.  Lots of fun pieces in it for shaker cards. I may just have to make one, it's the only way to use up all of these pieces!

So that's it for this card. It was super quick and easy to make.

Now back to my beanie. Yup, you guessed it, it didn't turn out so I'm on attempt #8.  Persistent, huh?  LOL So, if I happen to get it right this time I will take a pic and share it with you tomorrow!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Valentine's Day card,

Fabulous Sayings, Days Like This Memories & More, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Have I got a super quick and easy card for you to make. Please read on to see how to do it!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock.

The butterfly and flowers image is from the "Days Like This" memories & more card pack. It's got a lot of fun images to play with. This one was on top when I opened the package so I decide to see what I could do with it.

I stamped the "happy birthday" from the "Fabulous Sayings" set using black Memento ink. Then I taped it to the Flirty Flamingo layer.

Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the card base.

I added a couple of brass butterflies and the card was done.

I told you it was super quick and easy.

It has such a fun spring feel to it. I'm here in Minnesota and right now it's -5 but tomorrow it's supposed to be 14 above and then dipping down again. The weather here is such a tease.  I know spring will come but I'm really tired of this frigid bitter cold.  Not that I like to go outside, I'm an indoor person but when I have to go out I don't want to go out when it's this cold.  Okay, enough of my whining. I hope you are all safe and warm where you live.

Now I'm off to work on a beanie that I started 4 times already.  Actually 3 and a half. I started the 4th one and wasn't paying attention and the yarn ran out and the piece fell off my machine. UGH.  My next try will be a success, right?  I hope so. I'm SO determined to get it right.  When I finish it I will post a pic of it here for you! Hope that's tomorrow! LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by to see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Greenery Lane, Fabulous Sayings, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Garden Green card stock. Using the 3rd largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set, I cut one from the center of the large layer before taping it to the front of the card.

Next I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and placed some of the new "Greenery Lane" washi tape on it.  I found it a bit difficult to get it off the roll and onto the paper so what I did was pulled out the length I needed plus a little more. Then I stuck the tape to my work surface. I lined up my card stock and slipped it under the washi tape, lining up the edge of the card stock with the edge of the tape. Then I cut the tape off the roll. I trimmed the card stock to measure 3-1/2" (which is the width of the washi tape) x 4-3/4". This was then taped to the Garden Green large layer.

Using the new "Lovely Stripes" embossing folder I textured a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I cut it to measure 3-1/2" x 1-3/8". The Garden Green layer behind it measures 3-3/4" x 1-5/8".  I taped the two layers together and then taped that to the front of the card about 5/8" from the top edge and 5/8" from the fold.

The "hello" is from the "Fabulous Sayings" set and was stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the 4th largest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I taped the two circles together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped 6 flowers from the "Greenery Lane" bundle using Garden Green ink. I stamped 3 using full ink and what ink was left on the flowers I stamped on another section of the Basic White card stock. I cut them out with the matching dies and set them in place with cut Dimensionals.

I added little pearls to each flower and the card was done.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Beautiful Gallery, Reason to Celebrate, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another card using the layout I did yesterday. I just knew I could do better. This time I did not tape the folds down and I liked it much better.

This post is going to be short because I'm going to have you click the link to yesterday's card for the instructions and the video link in that post so you can follow along on how to do it.  I highly recommend NOT taping down the folded areas. Just burnish them well and they'll stay down nicely.  The link I'm referring to is here

I do recommend you make the tick marks like I did. If you look really close at my card you'll see they are still there because I forgot to erase them.  Another thing I highly recommend is a kneadable eraser. They are also referred to as an art gum eraser. I've used them in art class when I was in high school in the last century! LOL. You can actually shape it, that's where "kneadable" comes into play. I even pull pea size pieces off and replace the eraser on my mechanical pencils with it. The magic of these erasers is it will remove the pencil marks and not ruin the paper. Go in one direction (even with regular erasers). I will not be without one! You can get them in the art departments of Michaels or Hobby Lobby. Perhaps on Amazon, I've never looked there for one but they have almost everything you can imagine.

For today's card I used the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack. It's such a pretty image and it was the last sheet in the package (I have one more unopened pack!).

The words I used are from the "Reason to Celebrate" set and I stamped them using Secret Sea ink on Very Vanilla card stock. After cutting the words using the largest ribbon die in the "Stylish Shapes" set I sponged on a little bit of Secret Sea ink to tone down the brightness of the piece. It was set in place later with Dimenisonals.

The base of my card is also a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock.

My large layer is a piece of Secret Sea card stock.

I used white Baker's Twine for my string. I think I made the loops a bit too big but I can live with that. I was just thrilled that my paper folding was SO much better than yesterday, though this piece of DSP seemed a bit thicker and took a little longer to manipulate. And my centers are almost perfect (because I used tick marks).

For my "bling" I took some "Candy Dots" (retired) and colored them with a black Sharpie and I set them in place on the front of the card. I still have a lot more of those dots left. If they were real candy they would have been gone by now!  LOL They were/are fun to work with. I love that they are metal and they stick well to the card.

I think that about covers what I did for this card. This post wasn't as short as I thought it would be. I guess I rambled!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,
Wanda

Reason to Celebrate, Lovely & Beautiful, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a SO much better card to share with you than the horrible one I posted yesterday! I promise to never do that again! LOL That card haunted me all day and I felt I needed to find something fun to make to take my mind off it. So here's what I came up with. I got the layout from Cheryl at Paper Panacea. You can see her beautiful card by clicking here. She found a tutorial on how to make it at Frenchie Stamps

All you need is a 5-1/4" x 6" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP), a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of card stock for the large layer and a folded half-sheet of card stock. My DSP is from the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" package.

For my card I used a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

My large layer is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Fresh Freesia card stock. I taped it to the card base once I was done working the rest of the front.

I made this card front twice. I didn't like how it turned out the first time so the second time I made a few little tick marks to guide my folding.

I marked the center of my large layer at 2-1/16" at the top and I marked my larger piece of DSP at 1-1/4".  I taped the large piece to my Fresh Freesia piece.

After taping the smaller strips in place (taping only on the outer sides because you need to fold the insides), I marked the center at 2-5/8" and on the sides I marked them at 5/8" down (on all 4 sides). Now I was able to make my folds a little neater. My first one was so off that I would have had to have a 3" x 3" word piece to make it look fairly balanced. My piece is a hair off in the very center but the word piece covers it nicely. I like that the sides are looking equal all around at those tops.

I did tape my folds down but I do regret it. I think it would have looked nicer leaving them along.

After the folding was done, I stamped the words from the "Reason to Celebrate" set using Old Olive ink on Basic White card stock. I cut the words using the largest ribbon ends die in the "Stylish Shapes" set.

I took some linen thread and wrapped it around 3 slightly spread fingers 3 times. I took the ends and pinched them together with the other side of the circle that formed and set them in the center of the card. I stuck a large glue dot on top to hold the threads in place. I stretched out the glue dot a bit before I did that because it was a bit too high.

Dimensionals were added behind the word piece (not in the center where the glue dot is, it would end up being too high) and I set the piece in place on the front of the card.

I added 3 of the clear enamel dots from the "Ladybug Garden" package and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make (once I used measurements) and I can see myself making more with this layout. Perhaps for Valentine's Day or Easter and definitely Christmas!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,
Wanda

Love Notes, Endless Love, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I am calling the worst card I've ever made. It's SO blah and not what I had in my head at all. Sometimes what's in my head doesn't come out on paper. They all can't be winners, can they.  I'll share how I made it in hopes that you can improve on it!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I trimmed the checkered bordered piece from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" stack at 3-1/4" x 5" and I added a Poppy Parade layer that measures 3-1/2" x 5-1/4". I taped the two pieces together and taped it to the upper part of the card base about 1/4" from the sides and fold.

The "Happy Heart" is from the same stack and was trimmed at 1-3/4" x 3". I cut a Poppy Parade layer measuring 2" x 3-1/4". Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

Using the "XO" dies from the "Endless Love" die set I cut several sets out of Poppy Parade and Petal Pink card stock. I glued them to the checkered border piece.

Then the "Happy Heart Day" piece was set in place. I used the card stock hearts that came out of the centers of the "O's" in the "XO" and glued them to that piece. And that was it.

It's SO blah and not very colorful. I think it could use a Poppy Parade card base or some Basic Black card stock.  It needs something. Perhaps some sponging in that large white background area??? It needs some major help!

Well, I'm off to work on a knitted beanie. I'm going to give fair isle a try. Wish me luck. I'll show you when it's done. If it turns out. LOL I need to keep my hands busy, we are headed for the deep freeze here in MN. It snowed a bit today and now the temps are dropping.  If you live in the upper midwest, stay warm and be safe!

Endless Love, Reason to Celebrate, Cute as a Bug, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another Valentine's Day card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade card stock. I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. I taped one to the inside and the other I textured using the "Hearts of Love" embossing folder.  It was a bit tricky to get that into my embossing machine. I ended up putting the folder in first and then slipping the card stock on at an angle. There isn't much room to move the piece around but I got it in enough so it embossed a corner of the piece.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I didn't buy and Valentine's Day DSP but I forgot I have the 6" x 6" "Love Notes" stack. I didn't look in it because I forgot I had it.  Maybe on the next card! Anyway, I cut my strip at 4" x 1-3/8" and then I cut the Poppy Parade strip to measure 4" x 1-5/8".  I taped the two layers together and then taped them to the left side of the piece about 1/4" from the edge.

The words were stamped next. They are from the "Reason to Celebrate" set and I used Poppy Parade ink.

I the "Endless Love" die set there's a strip of 5 hearts so I die cut the piece at the bottom of the card. Then I die cut them from a scrap piece of Poppy Parade.

I taped the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the front of the card. Then I glued the little Basic White hearts in place and then the Poppy Parade hearts were glued on top of them

I added some "Loose Valentine's" embellishments. They are SO cut and lots of fun pieces in that container. Once the were glued in place the card was done.

This was a fun card and it's so full of cute hearts, it screams "Valentine!".

Love Notes, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Valentine's Day card to share with you.  I found it while surfing the net. You can see the original card by clicking here.   I need to make a few Valentine's Day cards. Two are for the granddaughters. I usually go to the dollar store and buy them but I am a card maker and I thought "why am I buying cards?" Well, I buy them because I wait too long and then I'm in a pinch for a card and not time to make it. So, with Valentine's Day a few weeks away I have plenty of time to make my cards.  I'm not sure what I'll put on the inside. At Christmas when I gave the girls their cards they were bragging to each other about what was pre-printed on the inside. One said that she's very special and the other was bragging that her card said she was loved a lot. Those two crack me up.  Those two are at the age where they fight and argue a lot, so to see them read their cards to each other like that warmed my heart.  I know they will grow out of that phase.  Kids!  Anyway, onto today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I grabbed my 6" x 6" "Love Notes" package. It's full of fun images to play with. Another package that I will probably not use up. I have not looked at all of the images but I'm hoping I can make some wedding and/or anniversary cards with it too.

The striped piece was cut first. It measures 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". It was taped to the front of the card.

The hearts on top with the arrows came from a sheet with several other images on it as well as the bottom heart of hearts.

The piece of Basic Black card stock was cut at 3-1/4" x 4-7/8". I changed the measurement from what the original post suggested.  I taped the two images to the Basic Black piece and then took some Baker's Twine I had and wrapped it three times around and tied a knot and then a bow.  Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was centered on the front of the card.  And the card was done.

This was such a super quick and easy card to make. Now to think of what to put inside. Maybe I'll write the same thing in both cards and tell them not to tell each other what I wrote!  LOL. I may use AI to see if it can come up with something fun and cleaver.  I have time to do that! One down a few more to go.

Impressions Abloom, Brushed With Beauty, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today I have a thank you card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

My Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package.  The strip on the left was cut at 1" x 4-3/4" and the floral strip was cut at 2" x 5".

The oval was cut using the die from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle.  I also cut a circle using the third largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

The words are also from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I cut them out using the longest ribbon end die in the "Stylish Shapes" set.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I was now ready to assemble the card.

I taped the 1" strip down first. It's about 1/4" from the fold and about 3/8" from the top and bottom of the card base.

The next strip was taped in place and is about 5/8" from the fold and about 1/4" from the top and bottom edges.

The oval was taped in place about 1" from the fold, about 3/4" from the bottom and 11/16" from the top edge.

The words were set in place about 1-1/8" from the bottom edge, 1/8" from the right edge and a hair shy of 3/4" from the fold.

I had some (retired) Candy Dots that I used to add a little bit of bling. They matched the colors in the card so I thought I'd use them. One of these day's I'll have used them all up!

This was a fun card to make. I find it a bit busy looking and hindsight I think I should have cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it before adding the DSP.  Maybe next time I use this layout.  It is a fun layout. I used it on a card I made earlier this month. You can see that card by clicking here
