Playing in the Rain, Rain or Shine, Matchbook Easter Candy Holder, Stampin' Up! Weekend Project

Hello!  I'm glad you are here to see today's matchbook candy holder. I have made a lot of these in my time. They make great little gifts so read on to see how this one was made.

The base of the matchbook is a 2" x 6-1/2" Basic White piece. I scored it on the long side at 1/2", 3-1/4" and 3-1/2".  All scored fold inward.

Next I cut some Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Rain or Shine" 12" x 12" package. The long front piece measures 3" x 2" and is scored 1/4" at the top. I glued it to the front of the holder. Make sure you get the sky at the top!! Yup, you're right, I didn't pay attention (as usual!). And the bottom piece was cut at 1/2" x 2".  Don't glue it down yet.  It is recommended you use glue here because tape could cause the DSP to lift off at the top.

The bunny candy is made by the Ghiradelli company and the bottom of it is placed inside the holder, all the way down to the fold. Then I stapled the matchbook flap at the bottom with the candy in between. When stapling, make sure you staple backwards. Meaning, make the bumps of the staples in the front and the smooth part on the back. This makes it so it has a nicer look plus you don't have to concern yourself if the staple should come loose and the end could possible poke someone or get caught on clothing. Now with the bumps in the front you will take that 1/2" x 2" piece and glue it over those bumps.

Tuck the top part of the matchbook cover into the bottom where the staple is.

I typed the "Happy Easter" on my computer using the BlacklightD font at size 16. I trimmed it on my paper trimmer and glued it in place on the bottom of the holder.

The bunny is from the same "Rain or Shine" DSP package and was fussy cut out. I set him in place using Dimensionals and the holder is done. You can embellish it with more items such as ribbons or pearls, buttons or whatever you think looks fun.  These are great to give out at any season or occasion. As long as you can find a candy in a wrapper like this you can make it into a matchbook candy holder.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Easter candy holder,
Wanda

Welcome Easter, Easter Card, Wobble Card Technique, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

The "Wobble Card" technique was fun to do. I thought you'd like to make a card with a bit of flair!  Something different than just a regular card.  I found a video on how to make it here.  It's in German but you can follow along just fine. I do not understand a single word of German and I managed to make the card!  So if I can do it, you can too.  I will help you along with the card but you do need to watch the video for the spring part.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mint Macaron card stock.  Before I taped it in place I punched out three circles. I used a 1" circle punch. You really want to use something smaller. I had to attach the wobble mechanism at the head instead of in the center of the image. And I can see it from an angle.  But it's still cute and I still like how it turned out.]

I stamped the bunny from the "Welcome Easter" set on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink. I colored him in with my Blends pens. I used Ivory, Bronze, Crumb Cake, and Petal Pink.  I die cut him out.  You can fussy cut if you don't have the dies.

I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Whisper White card stock.  The original card has a heart on the card and Mint Macaron ink was sponged inside the heart.  I don't own the heart die that was used so I improvised.  I took the largest stitched oval and I die cut a piece of scrap card stock that measured 3-3/4" x 5".  You could use copier paper too.  I just grabbed what was near me.

I set the oval on my Whisper White piece and I taped it down with some retired Washi tape so it wouldn't move on me while I was sponging.

Next I took that oval piece that I had cut from scrap and I set the oval aside and used the other part. I set it over my die. Oh, I did tape my die on upside down.  Once I had the scrap over the oval, I sponged on the color. I had to do this because the first one I did, I didn't realize that I had gotten sponged ink beyond the inside. So I thought if I sponged some more on the outer area it would look like a frame.  It looked dumb. SO I cut a new piece of card stock and that is when I thought of making the mask for the outer part. I'm not a neat sponger. You may be and you can try it without the mask.  I set the bunny on top to see where to add the grass. I stamped the grass in place using Mint Macaron ink.

Once I was done with the sponging, I stamped the words from the same "Welcome Easter" set using black Memento ink.

I taped the sponged piece to the Mint Macaron piece.

I added some strong tape to the circles and I punched a hole in the center of two of them.

I took some 24 gauge wire and wound it around my Sharpie pen. Not the big old fashioned Sharpie but the finer point one.  You can use anything to wind it around as long as it is round.  I wound it around the pen four times.  I made sure the ends were sticking out about a half inch for both.  I removed the wire from the pen. I inserted one end of the wire through the hole in the circle. I bent the wire so it stuck to the tape. Then I added another piece of strong tape over that.

For the other end I did the same thing.  After adding the strong tape over the wire, I added the other circle. The one that didn't have the hole in it. Make sure you have the tape side on the outside to affix it to the bunny or the front of the card.  It doesn't matter which end goes where.

Remove the protective covering from the strong tape and tape one end to the back of the bunny.  Then remove the tape on the other end and eye where you'd like the bunny to be and press the circle in place.

And that's it.  Give the foot a little flick and watch it wobble!  Fun, huh? And it really didn't take that long to make either!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today. I hope you are all safe and healthy,
Wanda

Welcome Easter, Friendship Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I have wanted to use the "Country Floral" embossing folder but keep forgetting about it.  While surfing the net I found a pretty card and thought I would grab my Blends pens and color. My inspiration for the background was found here

I colored the raised images using my Blends pens. I used light Highland Heather, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral and Old Olive.  I used the dark Calypso Coral for the center of the light Calypso Coral flowers.  I did not enjoy coloring these in as much as I thought I would. I found it difficult to see the raised areas while coloring because my hand would create a shadow and make it difficult to see.  I'm getting old eyes too, so maybe that had something to do with it.  After coloring, I cut my piece to 5" x 3-3/4".

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens on the right and the score line is on the left.

on top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Calypso Coral card stock.  I set it in place using snail tape.  Then I taped the Whisper White piece to it.

I stamped the cute chick from the "Welcome Easter" set using black Memento ink. I colored it in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight Blends pens. I colored the feet, beak and comb using the light Calypso Coral Blends pen. I was going to use the dark one but I thought it would take away from the look of the chick being soft.

I die cut a stitched circle using Whisper White card stock and I die cut a Calypso Coral scalloped circle.  I taped the two circles together.  I taped them in place on top of the flower background piece.

I set the chick in place using Dimensionals.

I cut a Purple Posy "So Very Vellum" piece measuring 1-7/8" x 2-1/4".  I taped it in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Welcome Easter" set. I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using black Memento ink.  I punched them out using the Classic Label punch. I set it in place on top of the vellum piece using Dimensionals.  And that was it.

It's a very easy card to make, though the coloring did take some time. I doubt I would ever make another one like this. I would change the background, I was not fond of all that coloring and how it was difficult to see for me.  I have seen other cards using the same background but not coloring like this.  I will try one sometime in the future, I need to recover from this one!  LOL

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Welcome Easter, Easter Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

Today's card was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.  I liked the use of the punches and the Designer Series Paper(DSP).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that I used the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder on a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock. I taped that piece to the front of the card base.

I cut a 3" x 4" piece of DSP from the "Best Dressed" 6" x 6" paper stack.  I taped it to a 3-1/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Whisper White card stock. I set it in place on top of the embossed piece using Dimensionals.

I die cut the second largest stitched square framelit using Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the chick from the "Welcome Easter" stamp set using black Memento ink.

I colored the chick using both light and dark So Saffron Blends pens.  I colored the beak, comb and feet using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends pens.

I die cut a scalloped square that was just a big larger than the square the chick was done on.  Daffodil Delight card stock was used for that. I taped the chick to the scalloped square. I set the squares in place on top of the DSP layered piece using Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the words from the same "Welcome Easter" set using black Memento ink on a piece of Whisper White card stock that measured 7/8" x 2-7/8".  After stamping, I clipped the ends to give them that ribbon look.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I punched out a Whisper White flower using the "Small Bloom" punch from the Sale-a-Bration catalog.  And I punched out a Daffodil Delight leaf cluster using the "Leaf" punch.  I used a dot of glue to hold the flower on the leaf.  I also used a dot of glue on the back of the leaves where they touched other card stock and that was how I set that piece in place.

For the final touch, I added a rhinestone to the center of the punched flower and the card was done.

This little chick is SO darn cute.  I don't usually make many Easter cards and I'm hoping to use this set for some children's cards because I don't like getting sets that aren't very versatile.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,

Birthday Memories, You're Inspiring, 2018 Occasions Catalog, Easter Card, Polaroid Technique

I don't make Easter cards very often, mostly because I don't have Easter themed stamp sets.  And this year I still don't have any Easter themed stamp sets but one set, "You're Inspiring" did have the "Happy Easter" words and the "Birthday Memories" had a bunny that I thought I would relieve of his cake and work him into this card.

Please don't judge.  This card was SO much better in my head than on paper.  I wanted to use the Polaroid technique.  You can find my instructions for it here.  As I was stamping the "Happy Easter" on the Polaroid part I was thinking of what I was going to do with that bunny. I didn't have any egg images.  How perfect that would have been.  SO I took the grassy part from a sheet of the Decorative Series Paper  (DSP) "Birthday Memories" 12" x 12" pack. I used the dotted paper from that pack of DSP for the background.  The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive.

As you can see, I ended up tucking one tip of the grassy DSP behind the Polaroid frame thing and then I had the bunny peek out from the bottom corner.  I really think some eggs or something, just something on that green field would finish off the card.  Any suggestions?  It needs to be something that Stampin' Up! sells and is currently in their catalogs.

March 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card, Easter Card

Today I thought I would play with the March 2017 Paper Pumpkin.  I am one who likes full-size cards so I took the note card and cut it in half to use the more solid colored piece.  Using this layout allowed me to make the full-size card I was looking for.

For this card I used a folded half-sheet of Sweet Sugarplum cardstock. I cut off 1" from the right front.

I cut a piece of decorative paper from the "Blooms & Bliss" pack to 3" x 5-1/4".

For that inside piece, I cut a piece of Raspberry Ripple 6-1/2" x 3-1/4".  The dotted piece on top is from the Paper Pumpkin Kit.  I set that on top (this little card opens from left to right). I also added a piece of Whisper White to the inside. It measured 3" x 3" (the same as that dotted piece on the front).

Next I stamped the bunny face. I punched it out with the 1-3/8" circle punch.  I stamped the ears and fussy cut them out. I colored the inside of the ears with the Blush Blossom marker.  I made sure I left a little bit of extra paper at the ends of the ears to tape them behind the head piece.  If you forget, you can just tape the head on first and then try to get the ears on the edge of the head circle.  When I got done with the face, I did take a Q-tip and Blush Blossom ink and added a little blush on both sides of the nose.  I also colored the eye dots in with Pool Party ink.  I didn't like how blah the face edge looked, so I took a sponge and sponged the edges with Blush Blossom ink.  I still didn't like it so I took my Basic Black marker and ran it around the edge of the face.  It looked more like it was a stamped circle and it fit better with the black edges on the ears.  I set it in place on the smaller card.  I tied a piece of white Baker's Twine to the fold of the little card.

I taped the back of the little card and set it in place on the inside of the larger card.  See the photo for the placement.

It's an easy and fun layout, plus I got to make a full-size card using the Paper Pumpkin kit!!!

A Cheerful Critters Free Standing Pop-Up Card Technique Card

Last night at Terri's Technique night, the gals made a Free Standing Pop-Up card.  You can find the instructions for it here at Split Coast Stampers.

This is a very fun card to make.  Oh and it's easy too!!!

The set used here is Cheerful Critters.  It's in the Spring Catalog.

On this card we also did the masking technique.  We covered the top 2/3 of the white card stock and than stamped the bottom (with the post it covering the white).  Then the bottom was sponged (with the post it still on the white).  Then the post it was removed and the bunny was stamped on.

A ribbon and flowers were added for some extra embellishments.  The gals had a great time making this card.  It's fun to have something unique now and then, isn't it?

Easter Blessings

I thought I would play with the "Easter Blessings" stamp today.  This is one of those stamps that won't get much use after Easter.  Though if you mask over the words you can get some use out of the flower for other occasions.

I stamped my flower using black StazOn.  I colored in the flowers using a blender pen and "Daffodil Delight" ink pad.  The leaves were colored in using a blender pen and the Pear Pizzazz ink pad.  And that was it for the coloring.  SO simple and quick.

I layered the flowers using Daffodil Delight card stock.  And the two panels were from the Watercolor Wonder pack and layered in the Daffodil Delight card stock as well.

The three panels were set in place on the card and that was it.  Another quick and simple card!!!

Blessed Easter and Watercolor Wonder

I must say that this "Blessed Easter" stamp is very easy to work with.  Deciding what colors I wanted to make the tulips was the hard part.  I LOVE red tulips but today I wanted to try something different.  So I started with my background paper and I let that decide the color of the flowers.  I used the blue and green flowers from the "Watercolor Wonder" decorative paper pack.  Once I got that paper cut I set it in place on top of a folded half-sheet of Island Indigo card stock.  I used the Island Indigo ink pad and a blender pen to color in the tulips.  Yes, blue tulips.  Aren't the pretty?  And I used Bubble Gum green to color in the  leaves.  And that was it.  I layer of Island Indigo under the tulip panel and I was done.  And extremely quick card to make!!!  Are you impressed?  I was!!

A Blessed Easter Birthday

Yes, I still had the "Blessed Easter" stamp set sitting on my worktable.  So because it was at hand I thought I would play with it.  But I will tell you this, I did have to get out the oval framelits!!!  And those I actually did put back when I was done!

For my card I used the Real Red marker on the tulips and I used Old Olive ink and a blender pen for the greens.  It's extremely simple to color and actually, it was an extremely simple card to make too. It went together fast and you know I love that!

The words were done on the computer and the "Decorative Dots" embossing folder was used for the background.

See, I told you it was simple.  This would be a perfect card for a Stamp-a-Stack.  It would also make a nice thinking of you or sympathy card as well as the birthday card and Easter card.  Such a versatile stamp!

Happy Easter to my Favorite Peeps! Baby Chicks Cupcakes

I wish you all a very Happy Easter.  Yesterday I baked and decorated cupcakes.  I found these on Pinterest and I pinned them thinking I would make them some time. Well, that some time came around sooner than I thought.  I had a list a mile long of things I needed to do yesterday but I didn't get to half of it because these little guys took a lot of time.  I suppose if I would have made them regular size instead of mini they wouldn't have taken as long.  But it's ok, they're just too darn cute and I'm glad I made them. They were easy to make too.

I didn't have any pipping bags so I just put my frosting (for the wings, feet and beak) in a zipper bag and clipped the tip.  Easy peasy!  And no clean up,  just toss the bag when I'm done!   I LOVE that.

You can find the step by step for these here.  Have fun with them!  They're such cute peeps!!  LOL

4-2-13 Update:  There was an error to the link on how to make these.  It's fixed now.

Happy Easter,
Wanda

Everybunny Easter Card

Ok, last "Everybunny" card before I put the stamp set away!  I was just having some fun with the Sunshine & Sprinkles paper and this set.  They just seem to go together so well.

My eye is really not liking this card as I'm seeing it here on the computer.  In person I didn't see it like I do on here.  I used Lucky Limeade ribbon across the bottom part of the card.  I should have used Lucky Limeade card stock and it may have blended better. My eyes keep going directly to that green ribbon! Now why didn't it do that when I was working on it?  It's still an ok card, just not as good as it could have been had I used the Lucky Limeade for the base of the card and for the scallop and layer.  But it is what it is and it will be just fine.  I know some of you say I'm too critical of myself but sometimes things just don't look exactly right and this card is one of those.  Now tell me your eyes don't go directly to that green ribbon?

Anyway, the card is done and ready to be sent out!

I have been reworking a beading pattern and I finally got it done.  It takes me a while to do them because I never took any classes on graphic design so I muddle through at a slow pace but I manage to get the job done!  I will post my project tomorrow and there will finally be a pattern available in my web store!

Everybunny Easter Card

I really do like this "Everybunny" stamp set and I've been having  a lot of fun with it.  From the candy header I posted yesterday to the cute Easter card I have to show you today.

The base of my card is Marina Mist.  There were SO many colors to pick from when using that cute paper from the Sunshine & Sprinkles set.  I was leaning towards the Melon Mambo but thought I would lean towards a boy color card.  Though Gumball Green or the Daffodil Delight would have worked for a boy card too.  But I'm partial to the Marina Mist color so that is what I picked.

I used the "Fancy Fan" folder on a piece of Whisper White for the background.  The next layer is the "Sunshine & Sprinkles" paper and then the image from the "Everybunny" set.

The words were done on the computer, printed out and punched with a 1-1/4" circle punch.  They were layered on an Old Olive circle and the scalloped piece was punched from a piece of Marina Mist.  A great way to use up some scraps!!!  I set the scalloped layer on the card using Dimensionals.  The card needed a bit of a punch and that was the ticket.  But yet it's not too much that it can't be mailed without adding extra postage!!! You gotta think of that when making cards you're going to mail!!!

Everybunny Candy Header Easter Candy Project

Here's a fun project for you that the kids will like to help with.  If they don't eat all the Peeps that is!!!  I'm not a big Peeps fan so I don't have a problem with these cute little guys! And when did Peeps get so expensive?  I thought they  use to be a cheaper Easter candy!  Anyway, I bought a pack of them to play with!!!

I bagged up the Peeps and then checked my stamps to see what I had for Easter.  I found the "Everybunny" set and ran with it!!!  I know there's a bunny in the bag and there were bunny stamps but I REALLY liked this little chick.  I suppose I could have bought chick Peeps but I didn't.  I thought the bunnies were a lot cuter and they are flatter too, which makes them so much easier to put in bags and to actually see them in the bag.

My bags measured 3" x 4".  I got my food acceptable bags at our local cake decorating shop.  I cut my card stock just a hair over the 3" mark wide and 5" long.  I folded it in half on the long side.  I found some fun decorative paper that I thought would be nice for Easter.  My decorative paper came from the "Sunshine & Sprinkles" pack.  Another pack of paper I won't be using up any time soon.  I am learning to scale back on my paper purchasing because I'm just not using it all before it retires.  I'm sure that is so true of many of you to.  Anyway, I cut the decorative paper to fit the front of the header and yet leave an 1/8" border around it.  Before I taped the decorative paper in place I did staple the white header piece on.  I made sure the bump parts of the staple were in the front and the smooth part was on the back.  It makes the header look so much more clean and neat.  I did take a hammer and flattened down the bumps so the decorative paper would lay nicely.

Next I stamped the chick image, colored it and then punched them out.  I punched out some Old Olive scalloped circles to layer the chick on.  I taped the layers together and then taped them to the front of the header.

I have a stash of punched out "things" and I found a bunch of Modern Label punched pieces so I pulled them out and found I had exactly enough for my little project here!  Then I went on my computer and typed out "To one of my favorite Peeps".  I had to have it print at font size 10.  Any bigger and I wouldn't have been able to get it all in the Word Window punch.  I punched them out, affixed them to the Modern Label piece and then I used the Sticky Strip tape to affix it to the front of the bag.  And that was it.  They are now ready to give out to my favorite Peeps!!

Spring Sampler Candy Headers Weekend Project

These were fun to make (for the most part)!  I added that part because coloring each jelly bean with a marker and stamping, repeating, repeating, repeating wasn't all that fun.  After a few inches it became robotic and I did get the paper covered that I needed to.  Once I got my "One Sheet Wonder" done I cut off pieces from it to use for the headers and then the fun began.

The jelly beans and the bunny came from the "Spring Sampler" set.  It's a fun little set and I wish I had more time to play with it.  Once the bunnies were stamped I punched them out with the 1-3/8" circle punch.  Then I used the scallop punch and punched out the Pretty in Pink pieces.

The bags measure 2" x 3"  and the header was cut 2-1/4" x 4".  I did plan the header so I didn't have any jelly beans on the back.  I really did not enjoy coloring them.  Did I mention that before?  LOL  I folded the header piece in half on the long side and stapled it to the bag.  I stapled the header on "backwards".  Most people would staple on the front.  I staple from the back.  That way the back is smooth and the bumps of the staples are hidden by the images I add later.  I often hammer down the bumps to make them very flat.

The last thing I did was I layered the bunny image and scallop and affixed them to the header.  They are now ready for Easter!

A Spring Sampler Easter

I thought I would play with yesterday's layout again but this time using circles instead of squares.  I must say, I do like the square look much better than the circle look on this layout.  But nonetheless it's still a fun card.

The adorable Sunshine & Sprinkles decorative paper is a lot of fun to play with.  The dots on this paper made the punched circles fit well with the whole card.

I don't usually make many Easter cards but this set has some fun images to play with for Easter.  They would make GREAT kids cards!

For details on how to make this card just look at yesterday's post.  I have all the info posted there.  Once you have a template made these cards go together pretty fast.

Ok, I'll put the templates away for a while.  I have to anyway, I have a fun technique for you for tomorrow!  Be sure to stop back, you aren't going to want to miss it!

Easter Treat Box

WOW, did I ever struggle to get a photo on here today.  Every time I downloaded the photo it was sideways though it was the correct orientation in the folder I was taking it from.  That was so weird.  After the 4th time I finally got it right.  Or I should say it finally got downloaded the way I had it set.  It wasn't me!!  Believe it or not!!! LOL

This was my last little Easter project.  I ran across a clear pillow box and I filled it with 10 Butterfinger eggs.  They fit in it perfectly.   It was as though the box was made especially for them and I mean custom made.  The eggs don't wiggle in there at all.

I stamped and cut out the bunny from the Everybunny set.  I colored him and then glued him in place on the box.  I didn't think the tape would hold as well.  The words were also from the set and I glued them in place too.  I tied a ribbon around the box and it was done!

This was a very easy project to do.  I wish I would have found these pillow boxes sooner, I think I would have made a lot more of these for little gifts for the Easter dinner guests.

Happy Easter and thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Easter Gifts Weekend Project

These are quick fun little projects that the kiddies can get involved with too.  You can stamp the image(s) and the kids can color them.  Once they are all assembled the kids can give them out to their friends, teachers and Sunday school teachers!!

Aren't the tiny chocolate bunnies adorable?  They are made by the Russell Stover company.  I think the package said there was something like over 60 bunnies in it or it could have been more.  Just look at it, there's LOTS of bunnies in it and these two little baggies were from just one package!!

The bunny image is from one of the dollar stamps at Michaels.  I just thought he was a cute bunny!  I thought it was something fun that the kids could do.  Kids love to be in the workroom/craft room and they love to get their hands on your "stuff!"  What a perfect project for them to have some fun with and be creative too AND without a lot of mess!

The bunnies were colored in using watercolor crayons and a blender pen.  For smaller kids you could color in the images and then just hand them the blender pens to blend (and probably mix) the colors!!!  It's just nice when you can get the kids involved in some creativity and away from the tv!!!

Ok, great news here.   Tonight I have one more "thing" to do on the project I've been talking about for what seems like months!!!  And it will be ready to show you tomorrow!!  So be sure to check back tomorrow to see what all the hype was about!!  I am happy with the way it turned out.  For my first one I know there's a few things I would have done differently but like I said it was my first one and I'm sure I will be making more!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today!
See you tomorrow,
Wanda

Everybunny Easter Candy Wrapper Weekend Project

Once again this is NOT the project I've been telling you about.  This is one I started a couple of weeks back and finally got around to finishing it up.  I had a buy one get one free coupon for Hershey Air Delights candy bars.  Well, you just can't pass up deals like that now can you??  LOL  I thought it would be fun to make an Easter wrapper for them.  I LOVED this hot air balloon/egg bunny and hoped it was thin enough to fit within the space on the wrapper and sure enough it was.

I stamped the bunnies and then colored them.  Once I was done with that I did cut out the bunny in the basket and the balloon/egg.  I glued them in place because I knew tape wouldn't stay.  I glued them to some decorative paper I wrapped around the candy bar and also glued in place. Glue holds SO much better on these than tape.  And yes, the Red Line or Sticky Strip are very sticky and will work too but once you stick it down you are done.  Glue lets you move it around a little before it starts setting, that is why I prefer the glue.

The Happy Easter is from the Teeny Tiny Words set and I punched them out using the word window punch.  After punching them out I stuck them to a piece of copier paper and moved the punch down further and punched it again to make a smaller oval.

Now to make the cute little label punched out piece I just folded the card stock and slipped it under the punch and punched out a piece big enough for the ovals I made.  I was lucky it came out right the first time.  I did mark the inside of my punch with a pencil so I could make the second one the same size.  I didn't think I could get that luck twice!!!  LOL  Normally I would have taken a piece of copier paper to practice on to get the size right.  Maybe all this stamping experience has made it so I'm really good at eying it?   LOL  That would be SO cool if it were true!!! LOL  Now these labels do have a fold in them but the untrained eye will NOT pick it up and the fold lines that show are so small that it really is hard to detect.  Click on the photo for a close up and see if you can see the folds!!!

Well, that is it.  There isn't a whole lot to these.  The coloring took about the longest and it wasn't bad at all.

I will get to work on that project because I'm SO excited to show you and with all the hype about it I am hoping that you will be excited to see it too!

Easy Easter Candy Gift Jar

Wow!  I guess it paid to whine.  The photos are now downloading just fine on here!!!  I wonder if that works for stuff around the house??? LOL

Today I am going to share with you a fun Easter project I whipped up!

The thing that probably took the longest on here was cutting out the chick.  The rest of it all went so quickly that it was amazing!  And actually, cutting that chick out didn't take that long to do!  Not that I would want to do a hundred of them but to cut out a dozen wouldn't be bad.

Recycling is always fun to do.  I turned this jar into an Easter candy gift.  I did run it through the dishwasher. I somehow, in the recesses of my mind think it cleans things better than hand washing!  Probably just the fact that I didn't have to hand wash it justifies me using the dishwasher!!! LOL

The flower on the top of the jar lid is from the Blossom Builders designer printed kit.  What a fun kit this is.  I don't usually buy them but I got it with my Hostess bucks and was glad I did.  I set the flower in place with a glue dot.  You need something sticky there.  Red Line or Sticky Strip tape will work too. After coloring it, the chick was attached using a Dimensional.  And that was it for the top.

The front was also SUPER easy. I took a piece of decorative paper and wrapped it around the jar and taped it in place.  I tied a ribbon around the jar and that was it.  Now how much easier could you make this?

Fill it with some fun candies and set it out or give it as a gift!  Baby food jars will work for this too, it just won't hold as many candies.  They still make baby food jars, don't they??

Ok, I'm off to work a bit more on my project.  I am not getting very far on it because I have not had a lot of time to play lately.
