Petal Park, Toffee Coffee, Weekend Project, Stampin' Up!

Hello, I'm so happy you found your way here today. I have a fun and easy project for you to make. It's a "Toffee Coffee" label. And the recipe too!!! I made this for a friend of mine and I hope she loves the beverage as much as my hubby and I do. I did use my computer for the printing and I used the "Petal Park" set for the flowers.

The jar is what the instant coffee came in. After using all the coffee, I removed the label and washed out the jar and lid. I got this coffee at the Dollar Tree. I know it's cheaper to buy a larger container at the grocery store but I was at the Dollar Tree and I had just ran across the recipe so I thought I'd give it a try with the smaller amount in case it's not good since we don't usually drink instant coffee in our home.

I measured the space the label would be taped to so I could adjust the size of the words so it would look nice.  I did have to print it out several times (on draft mode) to get the size right. Plus on the back the ingredients and instructions are listed.

Once I got the label part to size, I stamped the flowers from the "Petal Park" set using black Memento ink and then coloring them in using my light Balmy Blue and light Daffodil Delight Blends pens.

The width of my label was a bit smaller than my packing tape so I was able to get the label on a piece of tape and affixed it to the jar. If it wouldn't have been wide enough I was prepared to use clear contact paper.

After I got the label on I added the Toffee Coffee mixture and put the cover on. And that was it.

Now you probably want the recipe, right?  Well, it's pretty simple. It's equal parts. I make mine by the cup. I used a cup of instant coffee, a cup of coffee creamer and a packed cup of brown sugar. I put it in the blender to make it even smoother and less grainy. I put mine in a large bowl with some food safe silicone packets because the brown sugar is moist and I don't want any mold to grow. I don't know if it would but I'm not going to take any chances.

I think these would be great for gifts and I'm playing around with the idea of selling them at the fall craft fair.  Now go make some and give them to your friends or for yourself!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's fun project!

Matchbook Candy Holder, Flower Shop, Petal Palette, Weekend Project

I have not made a matchbook candy holder in a while.  These are very fun and super quick to make.  Well, depending on how much you embellish the front!!  But the holder itself is super quick to make.

For mine I took a piece of Powder Pink card stock cut 5-1/4" x 2-1/8".  You will need to score it at 2", 4-1/4" and 4-3/4".  Fold the 1/4" scored piece and fold the next score.  You are folding these two scored lines over each other. See the photo below.  You will be slipping your Lifesaver under the folded scored parts and stapling it in place. I like to use the tiny stampers because you have to really work that candy to the other end to get the regular sized ones to not crush your candy.  Once the candy is stapled in place you are ready to decorate the front any way you'd like.

For mine I used the soon to be retiring "Flower Shop" set. I stamped my flower using Rose Red ink on Rose Red card stock.  I punched the flower out.  I also punched out a leaf using Garden Green card stock.  I took my stylus and curled the leaves of the flower.  Then I took the 3/4" circle punch and punched out a Crushed Curry circle for the center of the flower. I set the flower center in place using a glue dot.  I set the flower in place using a Dimensional. I stuck the leaf to the Dimensionals before I stuck the piece in place.

I stamped the "thank you" from the "Petal Palette" set using black Memento ink.  I punched it out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I set it in place using glue dots.  Dimensionals just didn't seem to work well there.  And that was it.  Ready for gift giving.  I am thinking of making some of these with a Christmas theme this year for the mail carrier, cashiers I encounter, bank tellers, etc.  It's always fun to brighten up someone's day with something so simple as this.

These make a great customer and hostess appreciation gift, teacher's gifts, rewards in excellence gifts, Easter, Get Well, Halloween, almost any occasion you can think of! I made a Christmas holiday one, you can see it by clicking here.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Blossom Builder and Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Bath Salts Gift Bag Weekend Project

While looking though my notebooks, I ran across a recipe for bath salts.  I have not made any in a long time.  They are super easy to make and the link to my easy recipe can be found below.

For my bag I used the "Birthday Bouquet" decorative paper. I took a 5/8" x 10-1/2" strip of Mint Macaron card stock to make a band for the bag.  I didn't like the idea of stapling the bag closed.  It's too pretty of a paper to do that plus the paper will probably rip when someone opens it.  I embellished the band with a flower and leaf from the "Blossom Builder" Thinlit set. I also cut the heart out from the "Mini Treat Bag" Thinlits. I cut the Mint Macaron and Whisper White at the same time.  I trimmed the edges of the white so it would have a nice border around the heart.  Next I took the "My Friend" from the "Six Sided Sampler" set and stamped the white heart. I taped the two hearts together and added a flower.

Next I mixed up a batch of bath salts.  You can pour as much
as you want in the baggie.  I get my baggies at Wal-Mart in their craft section.  My bag was a little large so only one fit in the gift bag.  I usually make smaller ones. That way you can say something like "empty the entire contents of one bag into your bath water, relax and enjoy".  Now I will have to change mine to "add one Tablespoonful to your bath water, relax and enjoy."

When you make these, it's best to include an ingredients list and directions.  Especially if you make them to sell.  A tip on making the bath salts.  Use a glass bowl to mix it in.  Plastic bowls will hold the smell of the fragrance oils and some of them will start to "melt" the plastic.  They are fine in the plastic bags after they've been thoroughly mixed. I don't know how long they will keep in the plastic bag.  Most people use them soon after they receive them, so I have no feedback on that part.

You can find my recipe here.  Sometimes you can find a good price on Epsom Salts at Walgreen's, but I usually get mine at Wal-Mart.

Have fun making these!  They make great gifts for friends, teachers, customer appreciation, hostess appreciation, co-workers, and stocking stuffers.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Santa-Tizer Hand Sanitizer Holder Stocking Stuffer

Today I'm working on some Santa-tizers.  I need to make 14 of them!  I have two done so far!!!

They are easy to make, it just took me a little longer because I was writing down some measurements for you as I was working on them.

These directions are for the 2.5 oz. Germ-X bottles (I got mine at Walmart). Cut the red card stock 2” x 11”. Score at 5”, 6-1/4”, 9-1/2” and 10-7/8”. Punch the end with a decorative tag punch. Fold all score lines inward. Punch a 1” hole at the end near the 10-7/8” score. Center the circle in that area. You will want to decorate it before you glue that tiny scored end to the back of the holder.

I added the white textured piece to the front. That piece measures 7/8” x 3-1/4”. I glued it in place. Then I added the square center to the glitter buckle piece. That center is cut ½” x ½”. The belt is cut ½” x 7-½” I cut my ½” x ½” piece off the end of the belt piece before I cut it to 7- ½”.

Before you glue the 10-7/8” part to the back of the holder, you will need to insert the bottle. Now you can glue the belt on. Add the buckle. If you trim up the belt a little shorter, you can glue it in the front of the holder and hide the seam with the buckle. Then you have a smooth belt all around the holder.

Add some bling and you are done! My bling are pearls.  I used a black permanent marker and colored on them.  I was going to use silver rhinestones but I really wanted the buttons to be black.

I printed the words "Santa-tizer" on the computer and punched them out with the Word Window punch.  I used the retired Modern Label punch.  It's red on red so it's kind of hard to see.  But you can see it clearly in person!!  Some people add a string and punch the word piece and tie it around the neck of the bottle.  I have 14 to make, I don't want to do that for 14 bottles!!!

These are fun and easy to make!  If you use a 12" long piece of card stock you can make that little last scored piece a bit longer and easier to work with.  I didn't have any trouble with the 1/8" piece.  It's up to you!  They make great stocking stuffers!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Garden in Bloom Mini Notebooks

Aren't these cute?  I used the "Garden in Bloom" stamp set to make them.  Plus I used the newest "In Colors".

These little notebooks measure 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I have a Rubi Coil machine that punches the  holes 4:1, which means there's 4 holes per inch.  I have lots of coils at home so when I was shopping for a machine, I had to make sure I got the one with the right pitch or all of those coils would be worthless. I often save my copier paper that was only printed on part of it.  As long as there's 2-1/2" left, I cut it up and set it aside for notebooks.  It's fun to make these little notebooks. I often sell them at the craft fairs.  People LOVE buying stocking stuffers.

The colors I used here are Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and Delightful Dijon.  On the Watermelon Wonder I also used Calypso Coral behind the butterfly.  On the Mint Macaron one I used Smoky Slate.  And on the Delightful Dijon I used Hello Honey.

I went to the Color Lab and entered in one of the new In Colors and had the site find a color that would compliment it.  I got lazy and didn't want to rifle through the card stock to see what would match.  This is a free site to use to coordinate your colors.  I had not used the site in a while, mostly because I can usually figure out the colors myself.  Plus they had included in the list all the retired colors.  Now there is a drop down menu for just the current colors or you can pick by color group, or all colors including retired.  I like that site SO much better now that they separated the colors like that.  I will probably use it more now.  If you are not familiar with it, go to the link at the beginning of this paragraph and check it out.  I think it will be come your new coordinating buddy!!!

You can also see some cute snowman ones I did a few years back.  I always sell out of them at the craft fairs.  Click here to see the snowman notebooks.

These make great Hostess Appreciation gifts, Customer Appreciation gifts and of course, stocking stuffers!!

I use to sell the notebooks but that was before I had a million other things do to, but if you REALLY must have some, you can contact me.  Look to the right sidebar and find the icon that reads "Got a Question". My email address is found there.

K-Cup Holder using Flower Shop and English Garden Weekend Project

Good day to you!  Today I have a fun project for you.  It's a K-Cup holder gift box/tote.  I used the new Watermelon Wonder card stock and ink to make this.  I wish I would have put a bit more thought into this and found a color closer to the tops of the K-Cups.  I thought about adding a flower to the top and a glue dot but you aren't suppose to remove the covers and I thought the glue dot may pull the cover off.  Or leave some residue behind, so I left them plain.

I found the instructions at the Scor-Pal web site.  You can see it by clicking here.   I did not print out the template.  I just measured by using the measurements along the sides of the template.  I did run into a couple of minor problems with mine.  First I forgot to punch the oval before I assembled the box.  DUH!!!  So what I ended up doing was I assembled the decorative paper on top of a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock, found center and punched the oval.  I then glued the piece in place and took my craft knife and cut out the oval by hand.  I used an emery board and sanded the edges to smooth them out a bit.  Problem solved.

Now for the other issue.  I wanted to wrap the Mossy Meadow card stock around the holder.  I didn't have any 12" x 12" card stock so I did have to add a panel to the back.  It barely shows.  The decorative paper hid most of it.  My decorative paper is from the "English Garden" pack.  I cut the strip just a 1/4" thinner than the card stock.  I wrapped it around the box.  It didn't fit either! UGH!  So what I ended up doing was turning the decorative paper so the seams ended up in the front.  I covered that 3/8" opening with a Watermelon Wonder punched flower.  Then I stamped a flower using the "Flower Shop" set and I set it in place on top of the other flower with a Dimensional.  I punched out a Mossy Meadow flower and cut a few petals off to use as leaves.  I added a big pearl to the center of the flower and I was happy with that part of the box.

The top still needed something so I added a ribbon.  You can always add a tag to make it as a gift for a birthday, get well, or thinking of you.

These are VERY fun to make and if you make it like the instructions show, you shouldn't encounter any of the issues I did.  :o)  I always have to step outside the box, don't I?  LOL  Have fun with these!  I think they would make great Hostess Gifts, Customer Appreciation Gifts, a Stamp Camp project, or a Craft Fair item!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Party Favor

Today I wanted to see if I could work the Party Favor candy holder into more of a card form.  And I did!!!

For this card, I used the "Lullaby" decorative paper and the soon to be retiring Crisp Cantaloupe card stock.  There was very little stamping done here.  I used the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and the set, and the "Bitty Banners" Framelits to cut the words out.

I used the "Bow Builder" punch for the adorable bow on the right side.  And ribbon was tied on the left to hold in the candies.

The instructions for this fun party favor can be found here.  These are so fun and easy to make.  I'm pretty sure I will be making a bunch of these for a baby shower in the near future!!!  I think these would also make a great stocking stuffer or even a teacher gift!!  Oh and don't forget the Hostess gift or Customer Appreciation gift.  What a fun little thing to give away along with the instructions to make them!!!

Air Freshener Gifts Weekend Project

Today I wasn't sure what I was going to do for my blog post.  But as I was looking through my emails I saw something that was not only fun but would make great last minute inexpensive gifts.  I found these fun and easy air fresheners.  I looked in the cupboard and found a canning jar and a ring.  Now with the temps in the 20's here it was impossible to go outside and spray paint the ring white like the instructions suggested.  Sometimes I think these types of projects should be offered in the summer or early fall months so those of us who in colder climates can make these things the way the instructions show.  But since I don't live where it is warmer and I'm NOT going to spray paint inside my home, my ring is just going to have to be the original silver color.  The ribbon I added around the outside of it does help to hide it though.  And personally, I like the silver look.  I'm not overly fond of the gold ones, they do have a cheaper look to them but the silver one I can live with.

Now if you don't have the time to mix up a batch of anything smelly for the inside you can go to the Dollar Tree or your local dollar store and find some bath salts (that smell nice) and use them in the jar instead.  This way you don't have to spend much money on any of the ingredients.  The baking soda is pretty inexpensive but the essential oils can get a bit pricey depending on which fragrances you use.

Here I used some bath salts that I had mixed up a while back.  I kept them in a sealed jar so they are as fresh smelling as the day I made them.

After layering my decorative paper on a couple pieces of card stock for thickness, I punched some holes in them and set them inside the lid.  I added the bath salts and then the ribbon and the jar was done.  SO easy, SO simple, SO cute and SO inexpensive!!!  Oh, I forgot to mention that I got the idea and basic instructions for these here.

You can also make these for Hostess gifts, Customer Appreciation gifts and even as a Make N Take.  And of course they are great for Craft Fairs.

Now go make some yourself!

Fancy Favor Santa Theme Gift Box Weekend Project

Today I have another Weekend Project for you.  There's LOTS of Weekend Projects on my blog.  Over 200 of them!!  You can find them all by clicking here.  There's plenty to keep you busy all month!

I whipped up a Santa Theme box.  I also have a LOT of Santa Theme items on my blog too and this one makes 20.  Just click here to see all of those!

I used the Fancy Favor die for this box but I'm sure you can get the same look just cutting and scoring your own box shape.  If you scroll down on the sidebar of my blog you will see a link to boxes!  You can custom make a box there.  It's called the Super Deluxe Tuck Box Maker.  You don't need to keep the tuck part, you can just cut off the flap (if you wish) and have an open top box.  The only drawback of that box maker site is that you have to cut the box out by hand.  It's not bad if you're only making a few but to cut out a bunch, well... I think twice on that one!  I'm SO spoiled by the die cuts now!

Ok, onto the box here.  I used a half sheet of 12" x 12" Real Red card stock and cut the die out on my Big Shot.  Then I glued it together. I much prefer glue than the tape for things like this.  And yes, I even prefer the glue over the Red Line or Sticky Strip tape (Both the same exact thing).  Then I took a piece of scrap black and trimmed it on the edges to fit the front of the box.  I added a 1" punched piece of silver glitter paper and then a 3/4" punched piece of Basic Black card stock.  I punched out a couple of 3/4" circles for the buttons and I had also cut a piece of white scrap card stock to match the shape of the top of the box.  I did use the die to cut that white piece.  And the final step was to fill it with candies.  It makes a great party favor or even a cute box for some wrapped goodies.  I just poured some candies in it because I'm just setting it out on my counter.

This was quick and very fun to make.  This is even something the kiddies could help out with for their friends or teachers!!!  Have fun!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Snowman Candy Bar Wrapper

Today I have a very fun project and gift for you!  Yes, I said "gift".  I'll get to that part soon!

I have been working diligently on learning some graphic software. I can't say I'm an expert on it, I'm far from it but I can do some of the things with it that I've always wanted to do!  I even surprised myself!

I made this cute snowman candy bar wrapper.  I found that the 1.55 oz (43g) Hershey bar works very well here.

I printed out the image.  Because you get two per page I cut the card stock in half on the long side.  Then I cut the end to 6-1/2".  So now my piece is 5-1/2" x 6-1/2".

Next I made the score lines.  Starting from the left and going to the right I scored at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 4".  Fold the score lines.  Insert the candy bar and glue one of the edges on the backside.

Here I added a blue ribbon to look like a scarf.  You can be as creative as you like or not at all!  You can cut some ribbing fabric for a cap if you like or leave it as it is.  It's all up to you how you want to decorate the snowman.

Won't he make great Stocking Stuffers, Teacher's gifts, Hostess Gifts, Customer Appreciation gifts, something for the Mail Carrier or UPS Driver!

Ok, now for the gift part.  This wrapper can be downloaded for free!  Just click here and follow the instructions.  You may have to register if you are new to my web store.  I'm not sure if you do for a free download but if you do, it's no big deal.  I don't ever go into the address stuff for any reason. Personally, I don't know how to get into it.  I never had a need so I've never ventured there and still have no plans (or the time) to do that.  So what I'm saying is, it's safe to register.  Now head on over and get your free download of this cute snowman wrapper!!  There is no limit to how many you can print out.  There's no limit to how many you can make.  There's no limit to how many you can sell if you opt to make them for a craft fair and sell them.  I do ask that you give me credit though and if you post it on your blog a link back to mine would be much appreciated. Please add the following to your creations:

Dahlia Adornments Earrings Weekend Project

Today I thought I would play with the new in-color Dahlia Adornments.  When I started out I was thinking of something in the line of an embellished card but I ran across a pair of earring backs and thought the adornments would fit on them nicely and they sure did!  SO I headed for the drawer I keep my glues in and hoped that my E-6000 was not dried up!  It wasn't so off I went to my worktable.

Then the next issue was what color of earrings should I make?  All the colors in the container were so pretty but I only had one pair of earring backs!  So I opted for the Raspberry Ripple.  I know my sister is going to LOVE these!  I may even make some for the fall craft fair.  I have lots of flowers left from last catalog.  It's a great way to use them up!!  And it's not very expensive at all to do either!

You can click on the photo for a closer view.  I didn't have my big camera battery charged so I had to use the one on my phone so I wasn't able to get as close as I wanted to.  But you know what earring backs look like and you can see the flowers so I guess it worked out well enough!

You can get those earring backs at Bead Basics. Just give Jill a call at 763-717-4200 and she can get them sent out to you so you can get your earrings made for gifts and to sell.  They would also make a great Stamp Camp project, Customer Appreciation Gifts, Hostess Gifts and of course Craft Fairs.

These are fun and very easy to make too!

Thank you SO much for visiting,
Wanda

Serene Silhouettes Notebooks Weekend Project

As I was looking at the Serene Silhouettes set and thinking about my challenge of using every image in the set I figured this circle one might be the one that will cause me trouble.  I was going to use one of the other images to make a card, because that was the easiest thing to do.  I looked again at the circle image and decided to take on the challenge now and make something with it.  But what?  I thought it would look cute in the center of my little 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" notebooks.  I had just cut some inside filler pieces, punched them and set them aside.  Why not use them now too?  So the plan was set in motion.  Picking the colors was the next challenge but not too difficult.  I SO love the Cherry Cobbler color.  It reminds me of the Bravo Burgundy but not quite as deep.  And what to go with it. Well, why not the Midnight Muse card stock.  I have a couple variety packs and more and it's best to use them.  I look at the retired colors I have that I hardly used.  I'm sure they will be used for some notebooks coming up (that probably won't get posted on here) but they will get used.  I am going to try harder to use my papers, including the decorative papers more.  Why do you buy them if you don't use them???  Silly me!  But I do know I need to get some current ribbons.

I got some new watercolor crayons too.  It's always nice to have a new box of crayons, isn't it? Mine had an accident.  There was this open container of watercolor crayons, a cup of coffee and a cat.  Watercolor crayons and coffee do not mix well.  This happened when I had left for a few hours and when I got home it was too late for the crayons.  Those things can absorb a lot of liquid!  Maybe had it been water I might have been able to leave them sit and hope they dry out.  But coffee, nope.  There was no hope!! So now these things are guarded and coffee in my workroom now has covers!!  Helpful rules to live by!

Anyway, these notebooks will be put in a container with the rest of the finished ones for the fall craft fair.  If you make things like this to see you do need to put the Stampin' Up! copyright stamp on the back.  It's their rules and ya gotta follow them!!

2012-2013 Color Keeper

I have created the new 2012 - 2013 Color Keeper folder.

You can purchase the PDF file for the inside of the folder here.

The outside was made using Island Indigo card stock and ink.  The white dots were put on by using a toothpick and the Frost White shimmer paint.  I tried using my gel pen but it didn't like writing over the ink.  The gel pen would be quicker but not quite as pretty.  You can decorate the outside of your folder as you wish.

The finished folded size measures 3-3/4" x 7-3/4".  There are squares by each color for you to check your inventory of card stock, ink, ink pad and markers.  The center of the folder is where both years of in colors are located.

his also makes a great Make N Take, Hostess Gifts, Customer Appreciation Gifts and of course just to have one for yourself.  You can print out as my as you wish to use for gifts or classes.

A must have for any stamper to keep track of your colors.

Wanda

Life Saver Thank You Treat Weekend Project

Are you looking for something fun to give to your customers to say "thank you?"  I have a fun little project here for you to play with.  This doesn't have to be just for customers, it can be a very fun party favor too for showers, graduations and weddings.  Just find the papers you want for the occasion and you are set!

For this project you will need the 2 Tags die.  I cut one out and folded it up from the bottom 1-1/2".  I did not crease it at the bottom, I left it rounded.  My paper here is from the Spice Cake pack.

Next I used the Circle Circus set and stamped one of the images using Pool Party ink.  I punched out the image with the scallop circle punch and I taped it in place on the top part of the tag.

I took a foam mat and a pin and poked holes in the sides where I wanted the brads to go in.  Now there is a little trick to get the brads even.  You could measure but what I did was I cut out another tag out of scrap copier paper and poked a hole on one side.  I folded it in half the long way and poked the holes on the other side to match.  Now you can make them all perfect!

I punched out a More Mustard piece using the Round Tab punch.  I stamped the "thank you" from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  I actually got them on straight!  I had scored the center of the tab before I stamped on it and then I lined up the wood on the stamp with that scored line and viola, it was straight.  It could have been moved over to the left a smidgen but hey, it's straight!!!  I taped that tab (both sides - inside) and slipped the Life Saver inside.  I pinched the tab shut to make the tape stick to the wrapper better.  I slipped the candy in the little pouch.

I took a tiny flower punch and punched out 3 Pool Party flowers.  I set the flowers on a foam mat and then I took the end of an ink pen and  rolled it around the center of the flower so it curled up a bit.  I punched out some tiny white circles and glued them to the inside of the flowers.  I glued the flowers in place and the project was done.

My niece is getting married this December and I think these would be a fun thing to make for each table setting.  I'm going to wait to see what new papers Stampin' Up! is going to come out with and then decide what I'm going to do for the favors!  I think it's going to be a fun thing to make.  I'll probably stick with one flavor of Life Savers since I want them to match the theme.  Here the red Life Saver doesn't match the project.  I did have some white Wintergreen ones but I remembered that after it was all done.  That is SO me!!! LOL  The red one worked fine for this project but just before I posted this here I did remove the red Life Saver and added a white one.  The tape sticks to the plastic wrapper but it doesn't stick to it like it does to paper so it was easy to remove and replace without ruining anything.

When I make this for the wedding I'll be sure to share the project with you.  There will be a few of us working on them so it won't take long to make a bunch of them up!  Nothing does when you have help

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Notes Holder Weekend Project

Once again I had trouble downloading my photos.  I use to be able to just highlight the two photos and click the button and the two would download at the same time.  I tried it twice and I ended up having to download them individually.  I was just about to just use the one photo but I did manage to get both of them on here.  It never use to be that difficult to do.  The software must have been updates.  That's usually when things go wrong!

Anyway, on to my project here.  I saw this cute note holder on Angie's Chic'n Scratch blog.  I would love to have taken credit for this fun idea but alas, it was not me that discovered it!  Though it is SO me!! LOL

To make these you just use the tags die cut.  It was a lot easier to make than I thought it would be.  The die cuts the shape, makes that slit and scores the center at the same time. What more could you ask for?

You fold the tag in half.  Add your image to the front (rounding the corners of the background paper) and add your small post it notes to the inside along with a note.

I used the retired set "Teacher's Pet."  I cut out the elephant and after I colored it I then tied a piece of Bakers Twine around the trunk.  On the inside I stamped the "don't forget" words from elephant stamp.  It's such a great image and great words for these note holders!!  You can use any images you want on yours.

Once you are done you tuck the bottom of the tag into the slit on the top part. Add some ribbon and it's done!  How easy is that?  And how cute is that?  Can you see making these in a winter theme for stocking stuffers, or for make n takes, hostess appreciation gifts, customer appreciation gifts, craft fairs, teacher's gifts and don't forget about a Stamp Camp project!!!  You can even get the kiddies involved with this project!!!  These are VERY fun to make and I can assure you I will be making more of these.  I want to try to figure out some thing with them so I can use them at the bridal shower coming up this fall!  I have lots of time to figure out what to put on them.

Anyway, if you have time and the die for this go make some, they are SO fun!

Purse Notepad Weekend Project

This is a die cut purse that you decorate with whatever papers you want.  Here I used papers from the Everyday Enchantment pack and the in colors card stock.

The inside of it is about 30 sheets of copier paper that was cut to fit.  I didn't have one of those hinged rings so I used ribbon and tied it in a bow on the left side there to hold it all together.  I do have plans to go shopping and get some of those rings.  Probably 1/2" to 3/4".  I am thinking the smaller the better.

This was very fun to make and I think I'm going to make some for the fall craft fair!  It would be a great way to use up some of that decorative paper I have sitting around here too!!!  I guess I'd better get cracking on that project!!!

I believe I got the die at Oh My Crafts dot com.   Here's the great deal on this item, it's a long die and it was on sale for $9.  And their shipping isn't bad either.

I have stampers tonight so I'd better get going so I can be free to help them out or misdirect them in anyway I can!!

Thank you SO much for visiting tonight,

Labeled LifeSavers Valentine's Day Treats

These fun little treats are easy to make and would be a great thing for the kiddies to pass out to their friends.  Pop a few in the mail box for your mail carrier!  A great little tasty treat to set on the teacher's desk or the desk of your co-workers.  They could be fun for a Make N Take, Hostess Appreciations, Customer Appreciations and change the theme and they even make great Stocking Stuffers at Christmas time!  These are even something the kiddies can help make.  They don't require any tools other than punches.  You just print out the words and the card stock is ready to punch.

I punched out the labels and scored them in the middle on the long side.  I folded them in half.  On the word side I added the hearts.  It is hard to see in the photo but the hearts are white with pink center and pink with white centers.  I used Glue Dots on both sides of the label to attach the LifeSaver and that was it.  It's a quick thing to make and these can be used for SO many occasions.  I am thinking I may make some of these in all the colors for a bridal shower for the favor bags for the attendees.  If I make them I will be sure to show you!!

Well, I think I covered everything I can on these.  They are quick, simple and cute!!  They are going in the Valentine's Day basket for my friend.  And I think that just about fills it up!  Finally!!!

Valentine's Day Lip Balm Holder Weekend Project

I have not made a Lip Balm holder in a long time.  These are very easy to make and trust me here, they are lots of fun!  I made some one time for stocking stuffers, for gifts and for the DIVA's around Halloween.  I remember taping some tiny square mirror tiles on the insides of those!!!  You can see them here.

The pattern for the holder was from SplitCoastStampers.  Click here for the pattern.

The front of my holder was actually made by me.  I took the conversation hearts candy and put them all face up on a piece of paper and took a picture of them!  Personally I don't like them.  The taste of them not the looks of them.  I think they are cute to look at but gross to eat!!! I printed the photo out onto a piece of label sheet.  I cut it to fit the lip balm and wrapped it around the lip balm.  It really did dress up that little tube!!!  And since I had printed out two of them (I was testing the color on one of them) I thought I would use it on the front of the holder.  It worked too!!! I thought it turned out cute.  I usually have a ribbon going around the holder.  It is added between the front layer and inside layer.  I decided to use a heart shaped brad for my closure.  Most of the time the one who receives the holder takes the lip balm out and tosses the holder.  I know I have done that!!

On the outside of the holder I stamped the words Happy Valentine's Day from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" set.  I randomly stamped it all over the front.  It needed a little something but I didn't want to add too much color because I didn't want to take the focal point off from the printed candies.

Isn't the inside paper cute?  It's from the "Sweet Shop" designer paper package.

These little holders also sell well at craft fairs for me.  I often get my lip balms from Avon (when they have a great sale on them) and I have gotten them at Aldi, the ones they carry are REALLY nice and I didn't think they were very expensive either.  I try to find good deals on them so I have a better profit margin when I am selling them.

These also make a fun Stamp Camp project, a great Make n Take, customer appreciation gifts, hostess appreciation gifts and as I mentioned above they make great stocking stuffers.  Get busy on making them for your holiday gift giving. When I make a bunch of them I will make myself a template and use it on the inside of each piece so it's quicker to do. I only have to measure the one time.  After that I just trace the lines and use my x-acto knife and I'm done in no time.   I have great plans of making these for the fall craft fair.

I have a little tip for you on the instructions.  They have you cut the front and inside the same exact sizes.  I cut mine 1/8" smaller on two sides.  Once they were put together you could see the inside.  I didn't like trimming it off and it didn't look very nice on the inside once you do that.  Cutting the piece a bit smaller made a world of difference!  Other than that I just followed the simple instructions.

Have fun making these and thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Caramel Hearts Valentine's Day Gifts Weekend Project

It's always fun to dress up an item for gift giving.  I got these hearts at the grocery store and even though the wrapper was a perfect color for the occasion and the basket, I felt I needed to give it my own personal touch.  A belly band around candies is always nice.  It's easy and it's cute too!

For this belly band I started off with a piece of Real Red card stock and on top of that I added a piece of Pretty in Pink.  I crimped the two pieces and glued them together.  Tape just wouldn't stay with those ridges.  I did cut the Pretty in Pink piece about 1/8" narrower than the red.

When the glue was set up enough I wrapped it around the candy and glued the back seam together.  I used some clips to hold it in place while I worked on other parts of the band.  I don't like to sit and hold things while they dry.  I have to keep moving!!!  I removed the candy from the band and set it aside to set up and/or dry.

While that was drying I used the heart Sizzlet to make the scalloped heart.  I used Regal Rose for that.  It was nice too that I was able to find some scraps for it. I LOVE it when I can use up those scraps.

The words were done using the computer and I punched them out with the large heart punch. I sponged the edges and taped it on top of the scalloped heart.  I did glue the layered heart in place on top of the belly band.  Those ridges just wouldn't allow much tape to stick to them and the heart kept coming off.  Once the heart was set in place I added the little heart to it in the corner. And on that little heart I added a tiny pearl.  That just completed the belly band.  I set it all aside to dry completely.  One of them is going in the basket for my friend and the other is going to be for hubby on Valentine's Day.  We don't usually do anything for Valentine's Day.  We don't do gifts (or flowers), we don't do cards (anymore) or even go out to dinner.  I often fix a very nice dinner for us and that is about it.  It doesn't mean that we don't love each other anymore, it's just that we feel we don't need to express it like that on a single particular day when we feel the same for each other ever day of the year!  (well, most days - as long as he doesn't get on my nerves!!! LOL)

I have another project I am working on and I will share it with you when it's done.  I think it's big enough to finally fill that basket!!!  And then I want to make a special card for my friend too and of course I will share that with you as well.

I do need to make a birthday card for my brother-in-law.  It's his birthday tomorrow and of course my card is going to be late.  And here I was doing so well getting the cards out on time and even early for some!  My how quickly things revert back!!!

Be sure to stop back to see what else I'm up to!

Thank you for stopping by today,
Wanda

Strawberry Milk Anyone? Weekend Project

I have a bunch of these little cruet jars/containers.  I had gotten them for a project that went by the wayside.  So I am trying to find different ways to use them.  Any suggestions? I'm open for them.  I think I have 4 dozen of these. I need to fill them with something (I was thinking of bath salts) so I can sell them at the fall craft fair and get them out of here!!!

This one contains strawberry powder to be added to milk.  Like the Nestle Quick stuff but it's Strawberry.

This little container held exactly 2 tablespoons full, which is what the directions say to add to your glass of milk.

I decorated the jar with some fun hearts I cut out using the new Sizzlet die from Stampin' Up!.  What a fun die that is.  I LOVE all the different size and textured hearts.  I picked out a few and used Glue Dots to affix them to the jar and lid.
The large heart is also done using a Sizzlet.  When I cut out this one I didn't run it all the way through the machine.  I stopped when I saw the words appear on the opposite end.  I wanted the heart to be like a card so I folded it in half before I cut it.  I didn't quite get it right the first time and since the heart was stuck in the die I was able to put it back in and crank the handle a little bit further to get it where I wanted it to be.  And you can see how well it turned out.

The words inside the heart were done on the computer.  And get this, I got them all liked up the first time so I didn't have to play around with it and realign it.  I added a little heart on the inside from the ones I had cut out earlier for the jar.  I punched a hole in it and tied it to the bow with some baker's twine.

I thought it turned out cute and it is going in the basket of fun Valentine's Day stuff for a very special friend.  The basket is getting pretty full.  I have a couple more things to make and I think the basket will be ready to add the paper crimps to it and seal it up!  I'm getting anxious to show it all finished (but I have to finish it first!!!).

These cute cruets can be found in the bridal section at Michael's.  Joann's would probably have them too but I had gotten mine at Michael's.  Now what do I do with the other TON of them I have left???

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
