Playing in the Rain, Rain or Shine, Matchbook Easter Candy Holder, Stampin' Up! Weekend Project

Hello!  I'm glad you are here to see today's matchbook candy holder. I have made a lot of these in my time. They make great little gifts so read on to see how this one was made.

The base of the matchbook is a 2" x 6-1/2" Basic White piece. I scored it on the long side at 1/2", 3-1/4" and 3-1/2".  All scored fold inward.

Next I cut some Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Rain or Shine" 12" x 12" package. The long front piece measures 3" x 2" and is scored 1/4" at the top. I glued it to the front of the holder. Make sure you get the sky at the top!! Yup, you're right, I didn't pay attention (as usual!). And the bottom piece was cut at 1/2" x 2".  Don't glue it down yet.  It is recommended you use glue here because tape could cause the DSP to lift off at the top.

The bunny candy is made by the Ghiradelli company and the bottom of it is placed inside the holder, all the way down to the fold. Then I stapled the matchbook flap at the bottom with the candy in between. When stapling, make sure you staple backwards. Meaning, make the bumps of the staples in the front and the smooth part on the back. This makes it so it has a nicer look plus you don't have to concern yourself if the staple should come loose and the end could possible poke someone or get caught on clothing. Now with the bumps in the front you will take that 1/2" x 2" piece and glue it over those bumps.

Tuck the top part of the matchbook cover into the bottom where the staple is.

I typed the "Happy Easter" on my computer using the BlacklightD font at size 16. I trimmed it on my paper trimmer and glued it in place on the bottom of the holder.

The bunny is from the same "Rain or Shine" DSP package and was fussy cut out. I set him in place using Dimensionals and the holder is done. You can embellish it with more items such as ribbons or pearls, buttons or whatever you think looks fun.  These are great to give out at any season or occasion. As long as you can find a candy in a wrapper like this you can make it into a matchbook candy holder.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Easter candy holder,

Adorable Owls. Candy Bar Holder, Weekend Project, Stampin' Up!

Hello. I'm so happy you could make it here today to see the candy bar holder. I found it on Pinterest (while looking for something else) and I thought I'd give it a try. The problem was it wasn't in English, it was done in metric and they had a larger candy bar! So I had to do math and I figured it out so you can make one (or a bunch) too! You can see the original video here.

This is made for a standard Hershey candy bar. So to start out, I took a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock that measured 5-3/4" x 6-3/4".  With the 5-3/4" side on the top part of your scoring board, score at 3/8". Then turn the card stock so the 6-3/4" side is on the top part of your scoring board and score at 2-3/8", 2-3/4", 5-1/8" and 5-1/2". Fold all of the score lines in, including the 3/8" one on the sort end. Glue the piece together on the side. Then snip the ends to make flaps that will be folded in. Before folding them in, trim the ends at an angle so the long flaps are easier to close. Glue the end shut.

For the top piece I used Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Dandy Designs" 12" x 12" package. I cut that piece 5-3/4" x 6". You will be scoring this at the same marks as the Gorgeous Grape.

See the photo for cutting the angle on the DSP. You will be measuring 1" and making a slice between the 3/8" score lines that are to be the side of the holder. Then you will be cutting the angle from the top corner to the slice (I marked them with a pencil so you can see where you need to cut. Then the right side in the photo was cut from that center slice to the next score. You will also be scoring the bottom edge at 3/8".  Glue the side shut. There will be a piece that is sticking up that you need to trim. You'll see it once you glue the piece. Then snip and glue the bottom as you did for the Gorgeous Grape piece. There you have it a fun box.

The owl is from the "Adorable Owls" set and was stamped using black Memento ink and then colored in with Blends pens. I used light Crumb Cake, light Soft Suede, light Balmy Blue and light Pumpkin Pie. Once the owl was colored I die cut a 2-1/8" Basic White circle and a Gorgeous Grape scalloped circle that was a bit larger from the "Layering Circles" die set. The circles were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back.

I took some ribbon (retired) that I had and folded the 6" piece in half. I taped it down and then set the circle piece on top. I didn't press down firmly because I wanted to make sure the word piece could go under it or if it would be stopped by a Dimensional. The words are from the same "Adorable Owls" set and were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink. Then I die cut them using the smallest stitched rectangle die from the "Rectangle Stitched" framelits set. I added a bit of glue to 3/4 of the back and slipped it under the circle. I was right about the Dimensional being in the way, so I lifted the circle up a bit, slipped the word piece under and then pressed down on the circle.

The owl was set in place with Dimensionals and the piece was finished. The original piece has some butterflies added to the right side. I didn't have any so I just left it as it was. If I were to make another one, I might texture that piece, though I think it could make it weak.  Or maybe stamp some background image on it. Or better yet, find some embellishment that would work!!  Bottom line is that i wouldn't leave plain.

The photo of the candy bar sticking out is for reference. The candy bar actually fits entirely inside the holder.

This was a very fun candy bar holder to make and I'm going to bookmark it for future reference.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's candy bar holder,

Penguin Place, Candy Holder, Weekend Project

Today's "Weekend Project" is a fun candy holder I found on the internet. I thought it was so cute and would be perfect for a little teacher gift, stocking stuffer or something for the mail and delivery carriers. I found how to make them here. A little friendly tip here. If you are one who likes to play along, I recommend you either watch first or follow along with my tip.  The video for these cute holders starts at 11:06 in the video.  Before these, Christmas cards were made.

You will be instructed to cut the DSP from the "Penguin Place" at 2-5/8" x 6".  On the long side you will be scoring it at 3-3/4" and 4-1/8".  And the short side was scored at 3/8" on each side.  You also need to be aware of the orientation of your DSP. The first one I made, I had the DSP the wrong direction so when I started to fold my holder up, the characters inside were upside down.

At the top part of the piece you cut off 1-7/8" from the top down on each side. And you will be snipping the little scored areas between the 3-3/4" and 4-1/8".  You will snip to the 3/8" score line and then you will need to snip little "V's" off the sides of each of those little tabs.  After that was done (this is where I should have watched instead of followed along) you glue the piece.  You need to use a punch for the top piece to create the hole for hanging. I slid my piece in and the bump on the top of the piece is flat. You can really see it in the middle holder. Now you probably wouldn't have noticed had I not told you. But I did because I wanted you to know what yours could look like if you don't punch it before assembling. And when you punch it before, turn the punch over so you can see where it's going to punch. You don't want to cut off too much on the top.

I used Ghirardelli chocolates for mine. They fit perfectly. Lindt's were used in the original holders.

I did not tie off my ribbon on the tip like it was done in the video. I just tied the 7" piece of ribbon in a knot and called it a done deal!!

I wasn't fond of fussy cutting those little trees but I did it, I did three of them!! The two penguins were punched out and the fox was fussy cut. The characters were set in place with Dimensionals.  Set the tree and character in place with the candy in the holder. It will give you a somewhat firm surface to press down onto.

And that's it for the tips and how I made mine. These were very fun to make and I'd make more if it weren't so late in the season now. And they were pretty quick to make too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's cute candy holders,

Snowman Season, Candy Bar Holder Sleeve, Stocking Stuffer, Teacher Gift

Today I thought another "Weekend Project" was in order.  Who doesn't love these fun Candy Bar Wrappers/Sleeves? They make great stocking stuffers and gifts for teachers, mail carries, the UPS driver, etc.!  And they are very simple to make.  It's basically how much you want to embellish it that takes up the time.  I like to keep mine simple because I make so many of them to give away.

The sleeve itself is a piece of Whisper White card stock that measures 5-1/2" x 6-1/2".  You can get two from one sheet of card stock.  You will need to score the piece on the short side at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 4". I also find scoring these a little difficult because I am going against the grain of the card stock.  Yup, paper has a grain.  I like to burnish the score lines to make them nice and crisp so they fit around the candy bar nicely.  Oh the candy bar is a 1.55 oz Hershey bar.  The one I use for my samples is SO old it expired back in 2014. I wrote on the back with a Sharpie, "DO NOT EAT. IT'S OLD".  I don't even want to guess what it looks like on the inside!! LOL  But it' beats running to the store every time I wanted to make these.  And I don't want to toss it out. I never know when I am going to make one and I like to have it on hand. Remember when they used to be wrapped in foil and had their own sleeve?  I used a thin piece of wood and wrapped it in the foil and used that (until the wrapper change of 2003.  LOL  That date is accurate, I actually looked it up.

Okay, once the score lines are nice and crisp, place the candy bar inside and glue the seam. I like to glue the edges.  The edge on the inside I glue on top and the edge that is on the outside, I add glue to the inside of it. I prefer to use glue, because I know glue is going to stay stuck. Now set it aside to dry for a bit while you cut your pieces for the front.

For the front I used a piece of Shaded Spruce card stock and I cut it 5-3/8" x 2-1/8".  I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" pack at 5-1/4" x 2".  I taped the two pieces together.

I die cut the snowman from the "Let it Snow" DSP using the second largest Stitched Oval die.  Then I die cut a Shaded Spruce scalloped oval for the layer behind it.  I taped those two layers together.

Then I punched out a hat from the "Let it Snow" DSP and set it in place on the snowman using Dimensionals.

I took two arms from the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit and stuck them on the snowman. I also took a Shaded Spruce felt scarf from the kit and glued it onto the snowman.

I took the first panels I had made and stamped the "Thinking of you at Christmas" from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set using Shaded Spruce ink.  Then I taped that panel to the candy bar wrapper.

I put Dimensionals behind the oval piece and set it in place on top of the falling snow layer.  I slid the candy bar in the sleeve and that was it.

Super cute, fun and makes a great and inexpensive gift!

Let it Snow, Hershey Nugget Candy Holder, Weekend Project

I found a fun video in You Tube that shows how to make this candy holder. The original one shows how to make it for the small Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.  I didn't have any but I did have Hershey Nuggets.  SO I adjusted the size.  I will give you the measurements to this one.  You can see the video here

The box piece here measures 7-1/2" x 4-1/2".  I scored the piece on the long side at 2-1/2" 4" and 6-1/2".  And on the short side you will need to score at 3/4" on each end.  I cut the Designer Series Paper from the "Let it Snow" 12" x 12" paper pack.

I cut my DSP for the front, back and flap. The pieces were cut 2-3/4" x 2-1/4".  You need two of that size.  And for the flap you will need one cut 2-3/4" x 3/4".

Go to the video and see how to fold the box up.  You will need to make a score on the side that will help form the box.

Once the box is taped, tape the DSP to the box.

I stamped the words from the "To Every Season" set.  I stamped them on Whisper White card stock using Shaded Spruce ink.  The circle measured 1-7/8".  I die cut a Shaded Spruce scalloped circle for the back layer.

I glued the mittens from the "Let it Snow" embellishment kit.  I glued them in place on the circle. I tied a white piece of Baker's Twine into a bow.  I also glued that in place too.

I took a 1" strip of the DSP and cut it to fit around the candy.  I wrapped three pieces of candy for my little box. I glued the ends to hold the sleeve on.

I took the circle and added Dimensionals to the circle but only on the bottom 3/4. You need to leave the top open for the flap to slip behind.

And there you have it.  A very fun and cute candy holder.  This makes a fun little gift or stocking stuffer.

Thank you SO much for visiting,

Seasonal Chums, Beautiful Blizzard, Candy Bar Sleeve or Holder

Surprise!  Another post that does not involve the November 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit!!!  Though I was tempted. There's still some stuff left over to make a few more cards! But today I thought I would go 3-D. I have not made a 3-D item in quite a while.

This is a candy bar sleeve.  Though the photo is horrible, it just looks like a tall bookmark.  These are very easy to make and it's up to you how much time you want to put into them in decorations and embellishments.

The wrapper was cut 5-1/2" x 6-1/2".  I use Whisper White card stock and I stamped snowflakes from the "Beautiful Blizzard" set and Balmy Blue ink.  Then I scored my piece at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4" and 4".

I cut a 4-1/4" x 2" piece of Pacific Point for the back layer. I cut a 4" x 1-3/4" piece of Balmy Blue that I used the same snowflake stamps with Whisper White ink.  Stamp this piece first and set it aside to dry. Whisper White ink takes a little while to dry. You can also heat set it to get it to dry faster.

I cut a strip of Whisper White 1-3/4" wide and I tore each end so I had a flat end to line up on the Balmy Blue strip. I tore one a bit higher than the other. It gives the look of some depth.

I stamped the snowman from the "Seasonal Chums" set and I die cut it out. I trimmed the top of the hat so it was nice and round.  I colored in the snowman using markers. I used Daffodil Delight, Real Red, Soft Suede, Sahara Sand, Garden Green and Petal Pink.

Everything is taped on the wrapper flat except for the top piece of snow. I used Dimensionals on that piece.

The words are from the "Seasonal Chums" set and I punched them out with a 1" circle punch and the Pacific Point circle behind it is 1-1/2".  I taped those together and I taped them in place on the wrapper.

The most difficult part of this Hershey bar sleeve was trying to explain to a 5 year old what "prop candy" is.  This candy bar has been used for many 3-D items. It's very old and not fit for human consumption.  I even wrote on the wrapper "DO NOT EAT" and pointed to the expiration date!  I just don't sell these with the candy bars. It's easier to sell a package of wrappers than it is to sell a single one with the candy bar inside.  Well, it is more difficult in the area I live in.  So I use one candy bar over and over.

These are very fun to make and fun to give away!

I'm glad you stopped by today. Thank you,
Wanda

Painted Harvest, Hershey Bar Holder, Weekend Project

It's been a while since I've done a "Weekend Project".  I was going to make something fun for Halloween, but with it only a couple of days away I thought I would look towards November stamping instead.  SO while I was trying to decide on what kind of card I wanted to make, I thought it would be fun to do a project.  Yup, a fairly quick project.  SO I decided on a candy bar holder for fall.

These are easy to make and if you cut the card stock a certain way, you won't have to measure for the belly band unless you want a wider one.  When I cut my card stock 7-1/4" x 7-1/2", I cut my card stock on the long (11") side.  Then when I turned it to cut the 7-1/2", I had a 1" strip to use for the belly band.  I did not measure the score lines on the belly band.  I just wrapped it around the finished holder and then used those marks to make my fold lines.  It's an easier way to "mark" the fold lines.  Why not save yourself some time?  It still looks great because you do make the fold lines nice and sharp.  I also like to keep the seam of my belly band in the front.  Whatever you are putting on the front will hide it.  That allows the back of the band to look and feel smooth. It just gives it a more professional look.  Plus you don't have to worry about the back seam getting caught on anything and pulling open.  Oh, and I always glue my belly bands.  I do NOT trust tape.

For my holder I used Cajun Craze card stock.  I used the Painted Autumn" Decorative Series Paper (DSP).  I used the "Painted Harvest" stamp set for the words.  I stamped them using Soft Suede ink.  The leaves are from the same set and I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz ink.  I did find it easier to stamp the leaf vein image first and then the solid leaf image second.  I don't know if it is easier, I thought it was for me.  I thought it felt less stressful to get it right!!

To make this fun candy bar holder, just click here.  It will take you to my Halloween candy bar holder from a couple of years back and there's a link in there that will take you to a more female orientated holder.  There's a link on that one that will take you directly to the Score Pal instructions.  I just thought you might like to see a couple of other ones I've done so you get an idea of how much or how little you want to decorate them!

Have fun making them.  Wouldn't they make a great teacher gift?  And it's not very expensive to make either, depending on how much embellishing you do.

Hang Your Stocking, Hershey Bar Pull, Candy Bar Gift Holder

I should have taken the picture of this on a lighter background.  You can't see the Hershey bar sticking out the top.

This is a very fun candy bar pull.  I have some very easy instructions for you too so you can make your own.

Here I used the "Hang Your Stocking" set to make it.  I layered the decorative paper on the front. You don't need to decorate the back or sides.

I did take the paper fastener (brad) and heated it with the embossing heat tool.  I held it with a pliers.  I dipped it in the white embossing powder and I repeated this a couple more times. I wanted a nice thick coat of white on the fastener. Originally I was not going to do anything with it but when I set it on the paper, I thought it made the holder look cheap. So that is when I decided to color it with embossing powder.  I used a red enamel heart on the center of it.  I could have left it just white but I had the hearts and I thought it would look nice on there and it did!!

Here are the instructions to make them:

Cut card stock 5-1/2" x 6-1/2"
Score on the short side at:
   1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4", 4"
15" ribbon
Paper fastener embossed in
   white
DSP 6-3/8" x 2-1/8"
DSP 1-3/4" x 3-1/4"
Card stock layer 2" x 3-1/2"
Dimensionals
Enamel heart
Glue
Double sided tape

Cut and score card stock.  Add DSP. Add small DSP and card stock layer.

Die cut stocking, set in place with Dimensionals.

Stamp words and die cut out with ovals.

Mark inside 3/4" down from center and poke hole for paper fastener

Attach words, insert paper fastener, go though holder and go through the front of holder,  go through the ribbon. You nay need to cut a little slit in the ribbon to get the fastener to go through. Lay ribbon down the inside of holder. Set candy bar on top. Bring ribbon over the candy bar and let the end of
the ribbon hang out the top. Glue holder shut. Tie a knot in the ribbon. Pull on ribbon and candy bar slides out.

These make great stocking stuffers.  They are also a great little gift for someone like the mail carrier, or the UPS driver, your favorite bank teller, a neighbor, the kiddies teacher, etc!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today and have fun making them!!

A Home for Christmas and Petite Pairs Christmas Money Holder

This could be used as a money holder, a gift card holder or even a candy holder.  Finished size it's 3-1/4" x 4-3/4" and 3/8" thick.

I even wrote down the instructions for you too!!! You will need a piece of decorative paper or cardstock  cut to 5-1/2" wide x 9-1/8" long.

Score on the long side at 3-1/4", 3-5/8", 6-7/8" and 7-1/4".  Turn and score the short end at 3/8" and 5-1/8".  Or you can just score the first side and turn the paper and score the other side at 3/8" too.  Either way it works out fine.

Looking at the last photo you will see where you need to cut away some of the 3/8" pieces.  This will form the front flap.  On the 3/8" side, clip the score lines where they meet the long score lines.  You will only be making a 3/8" clip.  That little tab also needs a little trim too.  I cut little tiny triangles off them so when the box closes it won't be too bulky inside.  Click on the bottom photo to see a closer view of what I'm talking about.

Now fold all of your score lines.  Glue those little flaps to the inside of the holder.  Then you will be gluing the outside (longer pieces) to the other longer pieces.  You can understand what I mean if you fold the holder together first without gluing.  You can see how it goes together and where you need to glue.  I glued the front side pieces to the back side pieces.  If you glue the back side pieces to the front you will have raw edges in the front of the holder.  Like I said, fold it all together so you can see how it looks before you glue!

In the last photo, the bottom part of the image is the flap part of the card.  I cut away the sides on that section.  Then I snipped and trimmed.

Once the sides are glued, I used my bone folder to press the glue into the paper for a better bond.

Now you are ready to decorate the front.  I used a 2-3/4" circle of Mossy Meadow with a 2-3/8" piece of decorative paper on top.  It's the reverse side of this green decorative paper.  Next I fussy cut the deer out and set it in place using Dimensional pieces.
I stamped the words using the "Petite Pairs" set and Real Red ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I punched out a 1-3/4" Mossy Meadow scallop and layered the two.  I glued the reindeer piece onto the top half of the top flap and I glued the scalloped piece to the bottom half.  I only glued the bottom half of the scalloped piece.  The top half is where the rest of the flap goes to keep the holder closed.  And that's all there is to it.

Have fun with these!

Home for Christmas Candy or Gift Card Holder

Today I thought I would give those candy/gift card holders another try.  These are so simple and quick to make. But yet I am struggling with color!!  The Santa in the second photo is cute but I don't like the holder colors. I'm usually good at putting colors together but I'm REALLY struggling here.

The top photo is done using decorative paper from the 6" x 6" Merry Moments paper stack.  It's got lots of color.  I like it better than the bottom one but it seems like there's something missing.
I do like how simple these are to make.  When I was really bummed about the one in the bottom photo, I didn't think twice about grabbing some more papers and making another one.  They go together so quickly.   Maybe I'm just trying too hard. I'll probably keep trying until I find one that I REALLY like!  They will make great gifts!!!

You can find the instructions for these here.

Into the Woods Ghirardelli Candy Holder Gift Card Holder Tutorial Weekend Project

I had gotten some scrap pieces of the "Into the Woods" designer paper from Terri.  I punched out some circles from the flower designs.  I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them so I just had them stacked on my worktable.  I was going to do this project using the "Flower Shop" stamp set but I couldn't get the flower to look nice on the front.  I needed something a little bigger.  I was looking around at all the stuff on my worktable and I saw those punched circles.  So I picked one up and set it on the holder that was already put together.  I liked it but it still needed something.  It needed a border. I used my Framelits and cut out a 2-3/8" circle.  I taped the two pieces together and I liked what I saw.

I then made a bow with the "Bow Builder" punch.  I used Rich Razzleberry card stock for that.  When you make these bows it's always a good idea to use your bone folder and curl the card stock a bit first so it rolls instead of folds.  I use the bone folder on all of my pieces.  Once I got the bow glued together I set it in place with a small glue dot.  I do like to glue my bows.  I know they will stay stuck together.  Sometimes glue dots give way.

Now for the instructions on the holder.  You will need to cut your card stock 5-1/2" x 4-1/4".  Sounds like a familiar size!!!  You can make 4 holders out of one sheet of card stock!  So if you are making these for a craft fair it won't dig into your cost of goods much at all.  You will be scoring this piece of card stock on the long side at 2" and 2-1/4".  Fold the scored lines.

Next I added my decorative paper.  The paper I used came from the English Garden designer paper 12" x 12" pack.  The front part of the holder has the corners rounded and so does the decorative paper.  I cut my decorative paper 1-3/4" x 4" for the front piece and 3" x 4" for the inside piece.  I taped the pieces in place on the Mossy Meadow card stock.

I added a Dimensional to the front to corners and folded the piece up and pressed the Dimensionals in place.  Now you can use this as a candy holder or a fun gift card holder.

Beth, the gal who was showing how to make this holder said she used Ghirardelli Minis on the inside.  I found mine at Walmart in the regular candy section.  They only had the milk chocolate sea salt & almond flavor.  I was hoping for a mixed bag.  I didn't think about the color of the wrapper or I would have done something different with my decorative paper and card stock.  Perhaps Pacific Point???  Anyway, I added a Dimensional to the layered circles and then stuck it on the upper left part of the wrapper.  It's actually on the upper left of the candy, not the wrapper.  I mean it's on the wrapper but I feel the corner of the solid candy behind it. I wanted it over further to the left but it didn't lay right.  Once you get the Dimensional on, you just slip the candy inside the pocket and the circle or your design on the outside.  The Dimensional lets it sit there nicely.  I added the bow with a mini glue dot and it was done!!  Cute, huh?  And they're super EASY to make!!!

These would be great for craft fairs, as a Make n Take, a Customer Appreciation gift, a Hostess Appreciation gift, a Stamp Camp project, a Teacher's gift, a Stocking Stuffer and the list goes on and on!!

Snowman Hershey Bar Wrapper

Today I thought I would make some fun candy bar wrappers for my co-workers.  I found the fun Christmas Fudge poem on the Internet to put on the back too!!!

You can get the free download for the snowman here.  It prints out two to a page.  Cut the bottom off at 6-1/4" and then cut the 11" side in half so your piece is 6-1/4" x 11".  I scored my pieces at 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 3-3/4", and 4".  I used glue to stick the seam together with. I wanted to make sure I used something that would stay. I wasn't sure how long the tape would hold in place but I knew glue would hold, so I went with the glue.

After I glued the seam on the back, I used my bone folder to press it a little.  Then I inserted the candy bar.  I printed out the poem on a full sheet of label paper and cut it to fit.  I was able to get 6 poems on one sheet of paper.  After I got the poem on the back I tied a ribbon around the candy bar and made a knot in the front.  And that was it.  SO quick, SO fun, and I think they are SO cute!!!

The poem can be found below!  Have fun making these.  I had made them a couple of years ago and they were a hit.  I didn't make any last year.  I just ran out of time.  So today when I was at the store, the line at the register was long (what's new there this time of the year????) and I looked at the tabloids enough to make me wonder what is wrong with celebrities and I noticed the Hershey bars.  And the snowman candy wrapper came to mind, so when I got close enough I picked up a bunch and you know the rest!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Dashing from the malls
With groceries yet to buy,
Workshops, kids & housekeeping,
Life's so crazy! Why?

Bells on our telephone ring,
The machine will take the call,
We have no time for family or friends,
It drives us up the wall.

How are you? How's your life?
We really want to know.
Hope you're ready for Christmas,
Now maybe it will snow.

A day or two ago,
We thought we'd make a treat,
For all our special friends--
A Christmas Gift to eat!

Our intentions were top notch,
But our schedules would not budge,
Hence, here's this year's edition of
Homemade CHRISTMAS FUDGE!

Valentine's Day Candy Bar Holder

Get out your favorite Valentine's Day decorative papers and make one or more of these fun and easy candy bar holders.

I went a bit further on mine and used the "Edgelits Adorning Accents" dies to give the front of the candy bar holder a more elegant look.  It takes a bit more time to do it plus a bit of thinking and measuring to get it straight.  Hence the other two being straight on the front!!! LOL

I got my pattern for these cute holders at Scor Pal.  I need to head over there more often, they have lots of fun things going on!! Here is the link to where you can get the instructions.  Just scroll down and you can see the download icon and get your own copy of the instructions.  They are easy to follow too.  They refer to this as a candy bar card.  I didn't make the front into a card, I just dressed it up simply because a card was going to accompany these.  They are more like a gift than a card!

Have fun making these.  I'm off to work on another fun project for you.  I should have it ready in a couple of days.  And no, it doesn't take that long to make, I just work on things a little at a time.  I sneak a few minutes here and there to get these projects done.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
