Witty-Cisms, Graduation Card, Stampin' Up! 2020 Spring Catalog

I took yesterday's layout and turned it sideways to make this card work.  I was originally going to have it the same orientation but once I got everything cut I could see that it wasn't going to work.  So I turned the card and viola, I could still make this card with the ribbon strip piece.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mint Macaron card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pacific Point card stock. And on top of that is the Whisper White piece cut 5" x 3-3/4".

I cut a 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Best Dressed" 6" x 6" paper pack.  This design is on the backside of a piece that has different purses on it.  I didn't care much for that side but I figured I could use the striped side.  There's also another striped one in the pack in different colors and the other side is perfumes.  I didn't buy the set that coordinates with this DSP but I LOVED the floral images in it and that's why I purchased it.  Anyway, back to the strip. I cut it 4-1/2" long and then I punched the ends using the "Triple Banner" punch.  I taped the DSP to the card, centering it as best as I could.

Then I die cut a piece of Pacific Point card stock using the new "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.  They are stitched dies and the pack also included 3 other shaped dies and 6 scalloped rectangle dies.  I taped that on top of the DSP strip.

I stamped the graduation image from the new "Witty-Cisms" set using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock.

I die cut the image using the second smallest stitched circle die.

I colored the cap in using a blender pen and my Pacific Point marker.

I added an enamel dot I had because the card stock had a manufacture's defect in it.  There was a spot on it and I didn't catch it before I stamped the image.  So all I could do was cover it.  There was no point in stamping another one and coloring again, I knew I could hide it easy enough to yet look like a graduation card for a guy!

I set the circle in place using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy graduation card to make.

A Sliding Star Paper Airplane Greeting Spinner Card

Here is another card I had made for Terri's fabulous Stamping Extravaganza.  I had the privilege of demoing for her there.  These spinner cards are super easy and fun to make.

I used the curved bar for the spinner on this card. Though I do prefer the full circle one, it gets a better spin and seems to be more fun.

I used the paper airplane stamp and die to make this card.  The "Sliding Star" framelets is a very fun die pack to play with.  Pare it up with the "Swirly Bird" set and you can stamp the images and cut them out too!  I like the wording that goes with each image too.  This one reads "The sky's the limit!".  How fun is that?

You can find some tips here.  It's from the full circle one but most of the steps can be used for this curved bar slider too.

Teeny Tiny Wishes Wedding Graduation Shower Party Favor

Tomorrow night I will  be helping Terri at her downline Technique Night.  The instructions for this project can be found here.

I will be participating in the card swap tomorrow night.  I don't often find time to play in the swaps but this time I did have time to make the project.  Last month this technique and the Northern Lights one was taught to the group and this month we swap the one of those techniques.  So here's my card for tomorrow.  It actually opens up, the Bermuda Blue card stock is a folded half sheet.

I'm cutting this post short because I have only finished this one and I need to finish up the other 9 before I go to bed soon!  So I'm off to assemble!

Graduation, Wedding, Shower Party Favors

Last night at Terri's very fun Technique Tuesday for her downline, they got to make this fun party favor.

This one was actually made into a card.  I should have taken the photo at an angle so you can see that the part where the ribbon is tied is actually a "box" where you slide in 3 Hershey Nuggets.  I did not come up with this idea, I found it online.  I had made one before and I actually taught the group how to do this.  It was fun teaching there.  I had not done that in a VERY long time.

I do not know the name of the stamp set that was used here.  That usually means that I don't own it.  I would like to own it but I saw the new catalog and there's too many things in it that I want, so I will not be getting this set.

Anyway, if you'd like to learn how to make theses fun party favors you can find at link to it on my first posting of this project.

These would make very fun and adorable thank you's for a graduation party, wedding, a baby shower, and a wedding shower.  Plus they make a nice card that an be used as a birthday (as shown), a get well gesture or even just a thinking of you card.  And surprisingly so, they don't take long to make at all!!!  Give one a try and you'll be making more!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today and have fun with these!

Teeny Tiny Wishes Party Favor

Today I wanted to see if I could work the Party Favor candy holder into more of a card form.  And I did!!!

For this card, I used the "Lullaby" decorative paper and the soon to be retiring Crisp Cantaloupe card stock.  There was very little stamping done here.  I used the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" and the set, and the "Bitty Banners" Framelits to cut the words out.

I used the "Bow Builder" punch for the adorable bow on the right side.  And ribbon was tied on the left to hold in the candies.

The instructions for this fun party favor can be found here.  These are so fun and easy to make.  I'm pretty sure I will be making a bunch of these for a baby shower in the near future!!!  I think these would also make a great stocking stuffer or even a teacher gift!!  Oh and don't forget the Hostess gift or Customer Appreciation gift.  What a fun little thing to give away along with the instructions to make them!!!

Something Borrowed and Teeny Tiny Wishes Wedding Favor

Today I was playing with some of this fun "Something Borrowed" decorative paper.  I always think wedding when I see this paper.  I found a fun party favor to make and this wedding paper came to mind.  Well, both items kind of found themselves together!  I can't find the link to where I got the pattern, so I will have to give you the measurements and how to make it.

Take a piece of 3" x 7-1/2" card stock.  I used Sahara Sand.  Score the piece on the long side at 1-3/8", 1-7/8" 3-1/4", and 3-3/4".  Fold the score lines to form a rectangle box.  Use Sticky Strip to tape the bottom part of the box.  Now you can decorate the box as you wish.

I used the Something Borrowed paper to decorate mine.  I cut the pieces as follows:  the top piece measures 1-1/8" x 2-3/4" and the larger piece on the side measures 2-1/8" x 2-3/4".  I added the "thank you" using the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  Then I set it in place using Dimensionals.  I added some pearls to the front and then I filled that box space in with 3 Hershey's  Nuggets and tied a ribbon around it.  SO quick and simple.  I could see doing this for a baby shower or even a graduation!

A Fitting Occasion Graduation Gift Card Holder

I have one final graduation party coming up this summer.  It’s not until the end of the month but I thought I’d make the card now so I’m ready.  I ran across a card using this fun fold layout and I thought I’d create a new one using the new in colors and the fun  A Fitting Occasion set.  As I was looking at the set I thought I might change the front of the card so inside the circle is an owl instead of the horseshoe.  I’m not liking the horseshoe as much as I did when the idea first popped into my head.  An owl is more appropriate for a graduation. Something I will be doing once I’m done with this post!!!  So then it will be more of "A Fitting Occasion!"  I know, BOOOO!

This was a very fun card to make and I’ll tell you how the folds were made and the measurements too because I’m SO sure you want to make one!!

You will need a ¼ piece of card stock.  I used the new Gumball Green here.

The white piece was cut on the short side of an 8-1/2” x 11” piece of card stock at 4-1/8”.  I actually cut my piece at 4-1/4” and then trimmed of 1/8” because I didn’t want the other half to be too wide when I take it out of my paper stash for another project.  Just thinking ahead there!   Fold the piece in half.  Then fold the left side in half but fold it towards the outside to make a “Z” looking piece.  On the longer piece you will need to trim off 1/8”  Tape that piece in place on top of the Gumball Green piece.

Cut a piece of decorative paper to fit the front.  Mine was cut 2-1/2” x 4-7/8”.  Tape it in place on top of the folded piece.  Then I tied a ribbon around it.  On the inside I taped a piece of decorative paper measuring  2-3/4” x 4-7/8”.  Only tape the outer edges.  You need to create a pocket for a gift card or money.

The front was decorated using a round scallop punch, the 1-1/4” circle punch and the 1-3/8” circle punch.  Decorate or embellish it as you wish!

That was it.  Very simple and easy!

Smarties Graduation Cap Party Favor Weekend Project

I cut a strip of black card stock 3/8” wide by 3-1/4” long.  I wrapped it around the Smarties package and poked a hole in the top one that went through the other end of the strip behind it but not all the way through.  I didn’t want it to poke a hole in the candy wrapper.  Then I punched out a 1-1/4” square and poked a hole in the center of it.  I took a brad and poked it through the square and then the two strip ends.  I folded over the brad ends and then slipped the band over the candy.   And the final touch is to tie a piece of Baker’s Twine around the brad to make it look like a tassel.  And that’s it.  These are SO simple to make and fun for that graduation party.  And it’s not chocolate so you can set them outside and not have to worry about them melting.

This was not a bit project I had brewing but it was sitting on paper for a few weeks now waiting for me to find the time to put it all together.  Lucky you, today was that day!!

It's Graduation Time

My sweet friend Leah is among the talented stampers I get to be with monthly.  This month she was working on graduation cards.  At first I thought she was making them to sell but as it turned out she needed a bunch.  I believe she had over 10 going when I looked over.  WOW!!

She was kind enough to let me share her wonderful card with you.  They are basically simple yet some elements do require a bit of time.  The word piece not only required cutting the piece but also clipping the corners.  And also the layer behind it!

Then there's the scalloped piece which needed to be punched out along with the white circle.

The graduation cap is from some sticker set she had gotten at the local stamping store.  She just set them in place on the circle.

She added a piece of black decorative paper and a ribbon to cover the edge of the black paper.  I don't remember what school she said these colors were for but I'm sure for those of you not in our area school colors don't mean a thing to you since each school in any state has it's own colors!  I just love the concept of using stickers like that on cards!  Her cards were adorable and all ready to go for the upcoming open houses she will be attending.  I hope they are not all in one day!!

Thank you Leah for sharing your card with everyone!
And thank you everyone for stopping by today,

Go, Graduate Graduation Card

The graduation open houses are just starting to arrive. SO I thought I would make a card for each one as they come in. I'm not thrilled with this card though. I shouldn't have colored the gowns all the way up. Once I got it put together on the card I noticed how doing that made it look out of place. Oh well, a lesson learned for the next card I need to make.

I just LOVE this set. I had never purchased a graduation set from Stampin' Up! before. I am not sure why. But this one was just too cute to pass up. I absolutely LOVE that row of feet.

The cute owl came in the set too. I am going to take the card and color in the owl with Creamy Caramel or maybe Going Gray and a blender pen. It's got to be a soft color but the main things for me is it's got to be a color. It looks to blah just plain. And I need to finish coloring in the cap too. I guess I thought it was the top of the owls head. Oh my, I'm still laughing here. What an odd shaped head that would be!!! I must be too tired! So not only do I need to color the owl in but the cap too. I'll do the cap first so I will know it's NOT the owls head!! I don't believe the things I do (or see) anymore!! Silly me! And while I'm at it, I think I'll color in the diploma too. How could I forget to do all that coloring? Too much going on right now. Hopefully this weekend will bring with it some time to just kick back and relax! Sounds good to me.

This card was easy enough to make. The school colors are blue and white. Though I wasn't sure if it was a darker blue or the lighter one. When I went to that school (back in the dark ages!) the blue was light. I checked on the school's web site but it didn't show anything with their colors or logo, it just said the school colors are "blue and white. So blue and white it is. Do you think the person receiving it is going to care if the colors are wrong? I don't think so. He's going to get so many other graduation cards that aren't his school colors so I think this one will squeak by!!!

Ann & Leah Do it Again!

I have some fun cards to show you that were done by Ann and Leah Thursday evening at Stamp Till You Cramp. Though there wasn't much stampin' going on here! Most of the card is made using stickers and decorative papers. Both of which I love to use, it makes whipping up a card a snap!

Oh, don't get me wrong. I still love an all stamped card too. Especially one with LOTS of layers and one that requires coloring! But for a quick card, stickers and decorative paper is the way to go.

When looking at these cards I can see the fun the gals had in making them. Your happiness with a card actually does reflect on the card.

Leah was making graduation cards while Ann was making baby cards.

The middle card shown here was the one we used the Cricut on to make the "Class of 2010." I love my Cricut but have not used it much. I had gotten it for Christmas with the intent of scrapbooking with it. I've done two pages using it. I just have too many other projects going on that I can't seem to squeeze in any time for scrapbooking. Hopefully this fall when things slow down again I will be able to make time. I LOVE spring (but not as much as winter) and along with spring comes a LOT of work. Windows need to be cleaned along with cupboards and closets. Plus lots of outdoor work too. I'd rather shovel snow! There is actually less work to do in the winter than in the spring. SO I have to find time to squeeze all of that in too! But somehow I manage to do it and I'm hoping I can manage to get some scrapbooking time in too!

Now onto Ann's cards. Once again these cute little images are stickers and they are absolutely adorable! Ann did so some stamping on these with the words in the bottom corners.

She also stamped on the inside but I forgot to take a photo of it. Oh and she ALWAYS stamps on the envelopes. She is the one who encouraged me to stamp on my envelopes. "It's all a part of the presentation." Right Ann? It does dress up the envelope and make the card look even more inviting to open! Aren't these baby cards just adorable?

Thank you Ann and Leah for allowing me to share your wonderful cards on my blog for the world to see!

Just a quick note here regarding my blog. I'm getting close to the one million hits mark. I, of course, will be posting some wonderful blog candy. I can only guess that it will probably be by the end of the month that my blog will reach one million hits. It's SO exciting!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. Thanks a MILLION!

A Quick Graduation Card

I needed a quick graduation card and let me tell you this one was quick. In under 15 minutes I was done. Now keep in mind this is not counting the time I spent on the Print Artist program making the graduation caps. Actually the cap was in the program, I just re-sized it and duplicated it until the page was full. SO I did have the paper done ahead of time. Much like you would just grab a piece of decorative paper from your stash!!!

I have always loved this layout and for this little graduation cap it was perfect. The gal who is graduating is from Blaine and this is the school colors!! I will post this and head off to the party that starts in a few minutes.

The measurements for this card are as follows:

Cut your card stock or decorative paper (top layer) 2-7/8" x 4"
The white layer is cut at 3" x 4-1/8"
The bigger blue layer is 3-1/2" x 4-1/2"
and the base of the card is a piece of white card stock cut in half and then that half folded in half.

I used the 1-1/4" and 1-3/8" punch for the circles. The had was stamped on a piece of scrap white an taped behind the layered circles. Those two layers were set on the bigger blue layer using Dimensionals. I taped that to the base of the card (the white folded piece). I had forgotten to add the ribbon but that was ok because the Dimensionals raised that part of the card up enough that I was able to slip the ribbon under it and still tie the bow!

Now to grab an envelope and go!!

Cup of Candy Weekend Project

Here's a fun project I'm going to have to remember to use around Christmas time!!

I was going to buy hubby some wild rice soup at the grocery store. I had taken the cup and a lid and I looked and they did not have wild rice soup that day. SO I could hardly put the cup back in with the other ones. And I REALLY hope that people don't do that after touching them. I had brought it up to the register with me and told the gal why it was empty and I asked her if I could keep it. She looked at me funny and said "sure" with a question in her voice!!! LOL My intentions were to bring it home and put left overs in it for a future lunch for hubby. But then I thought how fun it would be to decorate it.

SO I got out some decorative paper but first I had to make a pattern so I could trace it onto the decorative paper without wasting any of it. The pattern was a bit difficult to make but I managed. And without taking the bowl apart!!! I got the paper cut and taped it in place. It was very simple once I had a pattern. Then I took a stamp from the Stampin' Up! "Oval All" set and used the "Just for You" image. I then punched it out using the scalloped oval punch. I LOVE that punch!!! Then I punched out a very large oval using a Marvy punch I had and same with the larger scallop oval. I sponged the edges of the scallops using Almost Amethyst. The works I stamped using the Almost Amethyst ink pad and then colored the inside of the words and the oval lines using a the black marker. I stamped it on Whisper White card stock and punched it out. I taped the layers together and taped them to the top of the lid of the bowl.

I tied a ribbon around the bowl and filled it with candies. I think these would be a LOT of fun at Christmas time. I'm going to go to The Dollar Tree to see what type of bowls they have with lids. I'm sure I can find something there and they would probably be plastic so they would last a bit longer.

These would also make great center pieces for your Open House when the new catalog comes out!!! Or use paper to match the theme of your even (ie: graduation paper) and place them on the tables as a center piece!! There's LOTS you can do with these!!

Just have fun!!

Glad He Won't Care!!!

This card looked SO much better in my mind than it did on paper!!! But the good news of it is, it's for my nephew and all he really cares about will be the money inside!!! Guys are such "guys!" And this time it plays in my favor!!! LOL

The whole problem with this card is that the card stock does not match the decorative paper. I would like to see Stampin' Up! come out with a "theme" pack of paper. One that covers Easter, Mother's Day, Graduation, Father's Day and maybe something for New Years Eve/Day. Just a little bit of papers for those non-holiday events, those one day events that you don't decorate a month in advance for. You know what I mean!!!! That way I would have graduation paper that matches the inks and card stock!!! I may have to play a bit more on my computer and make my own digi paper. Only problem there is time. I'm SO busy with SO many other things that finding the time to play around with that is not in the near future for me.

Anyway like I said, he really won't care about the card. And on the other hand I do have time to make another card before the open house!! I also need one for a college graduate too. I'm not sure how many graduations we will be invited to this year. Some years we are bombarded with invitations and other years one or sometimes even none!! This year so far it's 2 and counting!!

I will try to come up with a better card for the next one I need and I will share it with you. Yup, regardless if I like it or not!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting. I hope you are enjoying your day!

Wednesday Sketch Challenge at SplitCoastStampers

And once again the Wednesday Sketch Challenge at SplitCoastStampers snuck up on me. Here is my submission for this layout. I found this layout to be a bit more of a challenge than the ones were the last few weeks. It was fun though. Maybe because I was in the mood for the challenge!!!! LOL I needed a graduation card and this was the perfect challenge to try it out on!!

My stamps are retired, sorry to my fellow demonstrators but there were not long "congratulations" words or a smaller cap that are current. So I figured since I was using retired stamps I might as well continue to walk outside the "current" box and add some non Stampin' Up! paper as well. I had gotten this paper a while back at Michael's. I have a TON of papers from Michael's and JoAnns that I really should use up!

I stamped the hat image on the #3 panel and I used gold embossing powder and stamped with Versa Mark on the Night of Navy and after heating I cut it out. I also used Dimensionals to pop it up a bit off the #4 panel.

The guidelines here in regards to the #4 panel are that they want you to stay as close as possible to the 1-1/2" wide piece.

I did write down the measurements to all of my layers and they are as follows starting from the base of the card to the top final layer:

The Night of Navy is a half sheet folded in half.
Decorative paper: 5-3/8" x 4-1/8"
Night of Navy: 3-1/2" x 2-7/8"
Real Red: 3-3/8" x 2-3/4"
Night of Navy: 1-3/8" x 3-1/8"
Very Vanilla: 1-1/4" x 3"
Night of Navy: 4-3/8" x 1-5/8"
Very Vanilla 4-1/4" x 1-1/2"

On the red piece (panel #2) I used the "Lots of Dots" wheel and my Real Red ink pad. I went from the left corner to the right and filled in the piece that way. Then I turned the card and went from corner to corner on that way.

I sponged all the edges in Night of Navy (except for the red and navy card stock).

After cutting the cap out I added a gold brad to the center and I assembled the card.

It's ok, it would have been a lot better if the background decorative paper would have had smaller caps. But it will due. I'm sure it will be tossed after the money is removed from it!!! LOL

So now it's your turn to give this layout a try! You can view my other Wednesday Sketch Challenges by clicking here.

Don't forget the Blog Candy.

Graduation Time is Nearing! Party Favors Weekend Project

Graduation time is quickly approaching and that for many means an open house "party" with food and treats. Here's a fun treat my friend Leah came up with. Yup, this is the same Leah that came up with the other mint candy ideas in May of 2007! She's SO talented!

The school colors here are blue and silver. Leah used a blue pearl card stock, it's VERY pretty. Cut a strip for the band that measures 3" x 1/2". Punch out a 1-3/8" square and center it on the blue band. I would recommend using the piercing tool and Mat Pack kit here. Punching through two layers is hard on your hand and it's much easier and quicker to punch through both pieces at one time. You can also add the ribbon here too if you wish. I would add it after I punched the first two holes. I guess it really depends on your card stock and how hard it is to punch through that. If it's pretty easy then add the ribbon at the same time. The ribbon measured 2-1/4". You may want to add just a touch more so you can trim it once it's in place. After punching and the ribbon is ready, add the brad and secure it on the back. Wrap the band around the candy and secure it on the back. You can tape it but I would recommend using glue. The tape may not hold. Any white glue that dries clear will work.

If you want to get REALLY creative here you can open up your word processor and type in "Class of 2008" and space them apart up and down on the card stock. Line up the words in your punch and punch away. Or you can type the graduate's name or "Congratulations" or whatever else you would like.

Thank you Leah for sharing your idea with me and for allowing me to put it on my blog. Isn't it the cutest???
Edited: The candy used here is either Treasures or Nuggets made by Hershey and Nestles.

It's Graduation Party Time!

I thought we were getting by this year with only one graduation party to attend to. WOW, was I wrong. It's 4! SO I need to make 4 cards. This is one of the cards I made. It's for my nephew. The school colors are navy blue and silver. The silver paper went into a Cuddlebug folder nicely. It gave the paper a bit more dimension and I used the same patten on the white card stock. When doing the backgrounds like that it makes card making a very quick process!!! It gives me more time to work on projects! I love working between the two, cards and projects using card making supplies!

Don't forget to try to work on that difficult puzzle in the previous post for your chance to be entered in the Blog Candy drawing!

Pattern and Instructions for Ghiradelli Candy Holder

Yesterday my post included written instructions and a photo of a basket of Ghiradelli Candy Holders. I told you I would post a picture of a single holder and I've included a picture of the holder in the instruction sheet.

The next picture is of the instruction sheet. If you click on it you can view it a lot closer. The instructions are the same as the ones I posted yesterday. Just click on the link in the above paragraph and you'll be taken to that post. I wanted you to see what the candy holder looks like after you are done scoring and cutting. Just to clarify where you need to cut. You can always email me with any questions.

I would LOVE to see how you decorate these. PLEASE feel free to email me with your designs. I'd be more than happy to post them here too, giving you full credit of course!!! Let's see the talent that I know is out there!

Have fun with these!!

Weekend Project Ghiradelli Holders Pattern/Tutorial

Well, if this works out the way I planned it you should be seeing the basket of Ghiradelli Holders and reading this!! *crosses fingers*

I had to run out but I didn't want my post to be late so I did a rough draft and left.

I am still in the process of using up my retired decorative papers and ribbons. It's unreal how much ribbon is on a spool from Stampin' Up!

You can see one of the holders is open. This gives you a better view of what these are like. I need to get a pattern drawn up and posted for a better visual but I can give the written directions and measurements for this fun project. When I post the pattern I'll have a picture of just a single holder.
Cut your card stock or decroative paper 6 1/2" x 6 3/8". You are going to score your piece as follows. Score your piece with the 6 1/2" side at the top. Go from top to bottom and on the left side, score at 2" and then again at 2 1/4". Turn your paper around (upside down) and score the right side the same way. Now with the 6 3/8" side at the top score your paper at 3" and then again at 3 1/4". With the 6 1/2" side at the top you will be cutting away the bottom right and left side. Follow the score lines. You will be cutting away the score lines on the bottom right and left side so at the bottom you'll just have a 3" x 2" piece left. At this point you will have two small score lines in the middle of your paper plus the score lines on the upper part of the paper. Fold the score lines inward and make a firm crease. Fold the center piece in first and then the piece on the right. The piece on the left is the front of the holder. Don't tape it yet. You will want to take a circle punch and make a half a circle on the upper part of the right side. Fold the right side in over the top of the center piece and with a pencil trace the half circle onto the center piece. Open it up again, line up the pencil lines and punch out that half circle.

With some of the holders I made I used up some of the "in" colors of card stock and on the front I cut a 2" x 3" piece of decorative paper for decoration. I did make one holder with a 12" x 12" piece of decorative paper but you only get one per sheet. I taped the decorative paper to the front of the holder and then I taped the holder together. I just added tape to the upper right piece (on the inside). You may need to fold it all together again to see where the tape goes. Press the tape to the center piece, which at this point is folded to the center. Fold the left decorated piece over the top of that (no tape) and while holding it add your the Ghiradelli square. Now tie it shut with a ribbon. You can add words to the inside if you wish, depending on what the occasion is that you are making these for.

I will post a diagram and a single photo of the holder tomorrow after I draw one up!

Graduation Card No Ribbon

I was not happy with the card I posted yesterday so I had to try it again. It was the ribbon that was keeping me from liking the card so I took the ribbon off. But then without that strip of "something" going vertically in that spot it would no longer qualify to be the 126 Sketch card. SOOOOO!!! I took another piece of the embossed white and added the black layer to the back of it. Talk about BLAH! I dug out the brayer and we all know how much I hate to use the brayer. Not because it's difficult to use but because I hate to clean it!!! LOL I rolled it in Staz-0n and wheeled it over the embossed strip. I put the pieces in place and liked the card a lot better.

Venture on over to SplitCoastStampers sometime and participate in one of their sketches, it's a lot of fun and everyone over there is SO nice. I haven't participated in any of their challenges yet but I plan to sometime. For now I'm enjoying the sketches. I am loving new and different card layouts. And this card didn't have any buttons or brads so it qualifies as a "Machinable" card so it's only 41 cents to mail!!! With the postage increase I will be rethinking my Christmas cards. No brads, no eyelets or buttons. I sent out too many to have to pay that extra postage. SO I'll be racking my brain looking for just the right card to make for Christmas. I may have to post the components on here and get your creative minds working to help me out!! Sounds like a fun Blog Candy game, huh?

Have a safe and happy weekend!
