Velvet Meadow, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I had used this layout (sort of) on a card I posted 3 days ago. You can see that card by clicking here.  I made a different version of the layout and I like it better. It's got one less layer and the triangles lay across the DSP. I like this version better because it lets the triangles stand out more. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Velvet Meadow" 12" x 12" package.  I didn't tape it to the card front yet, I worded on top of it first.

The left two triangles were made first. I cut a piece of DSP from the same package at 4" x 2-5/8" and I cut a piece of Berry Burst using the same measurements.  I cut the DSP diagonally from the upper left to the bottom right. I actually had to cut two because the orientation of the DSP didn't match up nicely so I cut the next piece from the upper right corner to the bottom left. I figured that it would end up producing two cards to I cut another Berry Burst layer and I cut them they same way. Left corner first on one and right corner first on the second.  Now the pieces line up.  For the DSP, I cut 5/8" off the left sides. This allowed the DSP to lay in the Berry Burst piece evenly/equally.  I taped the DSP to the Berry Burst piece and then I taped those to the left side of the large DSP layer. 

For the right triangle, I cut the two pieces at 3-1/2" x 3-1/2". I marked the center on the the 3-1/4" piece in the center at 1-5/8".  I cut from the corners to the center mark. I did the same for both pieces. On the right edge of the DSP I cut 5/8" off and taped it to the Berry Burst piece. Then that was taped to the front of the card. I just eyed it to get it centered as much as I could without measuring. If it looks good to your eye, then it's good!

I took out the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape and I cut off one panel and laid it on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I cut the pieces out using the matching die. I added Dimensionals to the largest flower and the rest of the pieces were tucked and clued in place.  

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Basic Black ink. I used the "Three Banner" punch to punch them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was so happy to see that the "Extraordinary Flora" Washi tape went well with this DSP.

Choose Happy, Flowering Zinnias, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog and Happy Halloween. Today I have a quick Halloween card to share with you. I didn't purchase any Halloween sets this year but there is a pumpkin in the "Choose Happy" set so I worked with it on this card. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock. I cut two 4' x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One was taped to the inside and one was taped to the outside.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 4" piece of Peach Pie card stock for the back layer. 

The strips are from the "Flowering Zinnias" 12" x 12" package. I cut them at 1" x 3-3/4".  You will need three of them. I taped them to the Peach Pie piece. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. I just eyed it so it looked like it was equally spaced all around. 

The pumpkins are from the "Choose Happy" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock. The face image was also included in that set so you can make jack-o-lanterns or just fall pumpkins. You know how much I love versatility. Since it's a Halloween card I used the face on the pumpkins. I fussy cut them out and added a Dimensional behind each one.

Next I stamped they words. They are from the same "Choose Happy" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the second smallest die in the "Deckled Circles" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. 

Once the word piece is in place then the pumpkins were affixed to the front and the card was done.

I'm not a bit fan of fussy cutting but this was pretty easy. It was a fun card to make and it turned out to be a cute Halloween card.

Let's Go Fishing, Father's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I found a corner fold card with an orientation different than I have done in the past.  These cards are usually fun to make but for some odd reason I struggled with this one. Fortunately there was a video at the site to help me get it right. My problem is always that corner fold. Some papers don't like to fold as nice as others and this one caused me to struggle. But I did get it done! I found the card on Pinterest and the link from there will take you to the video.  Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. Once cut in half on the short side, the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11".  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock to the inside. Which I found brave because after taping I thought, what if I ruin the front. But I continued.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Let's Go Fishing" 12" x 12" package. 

Now when I mentioned that I had trouble folding mine, well that's because I didn't follow the directions and I just scored my piece and folded it over so it's not actually a corner flip card, it's just a corner fold. Had I followed the directions I would have had an easier time.  Though this way works and there was no cutting it was a bit more difficult to fold. 

I marked the top of my card at 1-7/8" and I marked the right side at 5/8" from the bottom. I scored it from mark to mark and I folded it over.

I took the DSP and also marked it but I went a little bit shorter, which I should not have done. If anything I should have just cut it on the inside of the marks to make it a hair shorter. Cutting it the way I did you can see the cut line on the DSP. But you might not have noticed that had I not pointed it out to you. After cutting the DSP I taped it in place. Then I glued down the corner.

For the focal piece I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Night of Navy card stock. On top of that is a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and on top of that is a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of DSP from the same package. I taped all three of those pieces together and taped them to the front of the card.

The words were done on my computer because I didn't have any Father's Day stamps (that I could find) and I didn't purchase the fishing set, just the DSP. I die cut the words using the 4th largest stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set and the Night of Navy circle was cut using the 3rd largest circle. I taped the two circles together and set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. 

A 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock was cut for the inside cover to hide the fold line and back of the Night of Navy square.

I colored a few pearls using the dark Night of Navy Blends pen and set them in place on the front of the card. And the card was done.

This wasn't all that bad to make but next time I will probably do it the right way. Though this was was a lot quicker!! LOL

Bee My Valentine, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Valentine's Day card to share with you. Please read on to see how I made it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock for the layer. I taped that to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Daffodil Delight card stock for the large top layer. I did not tape that down yet, I needed to add the words but I didn't want to add them until I made the squared layers.

For the squared layers I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bee Mine" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to a 3-1/3" x 3-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock. I laid that on top of the Daffodil Delight piece to see where the words would go. Then the words from the "Bee My Valentine" bundle were stamped using black Memento ink. Once stamped the Daffodil Delight piece was taped in place.

The square layers were added using Dimensionals and the card was done.

Fun, huh? Super quick and easy too!

Life is Beautiful, Thinking of You Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I had ordered the "Life is Beautiful" stamp set. I wasn't going to buy another tree stamp. It seems that every few years a new one comes out and then it's retired and repeat! This one won't be in the new catalog. It's a Million Dollars in Sales set. The demonstrator reached one million in sales and you then design a stamp set that will go in the catalog.  I bought this because I figured it would be versatile.  It's great for a masculine sympathy card. You can use greens like I found and you can use fall colors. Plus there's snowflakes and what looks like bubbles but I think it might be snow.  I like the bird house, that gives the tree the summer look. I think this tree may be fun for some Halloween images too.   I found this card here. I changed the layers but other than that it's pretty darn close. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green card stock.  The focal piece is a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Whisper White.

First I stamped the tree using Soft Suede ink. I like the details in the trunk. If your stamp pad isn't too wet the details show nicely. If it is then all you need to do is take a sponge dauber and ink it up first, yes, add more ink. Then go over the tree and it will pick up any extra ink. You need to ink it first so you are not just taking ink in one area, you want to keep the ink even throughout.  After I stamped the tree I also stamped the Soft Suede ground.

Then the leaves were added. First I used Granny Apple Green. It was stamped twice on the tree. Then Garden Green ink was used and it was also stamped twice.  Oh, it was inked each time too, no stamping off here. Then I stamped the ground using Garden Green ink.

For the bird house, I used markers. I colored the house in first using the Real Red marker. Then I colored in the roof and hanger. I also ran the marker in the center of the opening to give the hole a dark edge. And the birds were colored in using the Pacific Point marker.  I stamped it on a scrap piece of paper. I didn't want to mess it us and when you stamp with a brand new set it doesn't always stamp so nicely. I recolored it, huffed on it and then stamped it on the front of the card.  

The words are also from the set. I chose "thinking of you" instead of the "hello" that was used in the original card.  I will be looking for some nice sympathy wording and omit the bird house. 

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make.  I am looking forward to making a fall card with this set.

Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card

I found this beautiful card on Pinterest and I just had to make it. You can see the original card here.  

I love the colors on this card.  That is probably part of the reason I really liked this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  

I cut a quarter sheet of Whisper White card stock to stamp the images on.

First I stamped the flower from the "Beautiful Friendship, the large double flower using Pumpkin Pie ink.  Then I stamped the smaller flower using Calypso Coral. And the very mall rose is from the small double roses. I stamped the larger one using Mango Melody.  

I stamped the blue leaves using Bermuda Bay.  I also stamped the dotted stems using Bermuda Bay too.

Then I stamped the leaves using Pear Pizzazz ink.  

The center of the two flowers are stamped using Cajun Craze ink.

The words are from the same "Beautiful Friendship" set using black Memento ink. 

I cut the stamped piece to measure 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and I set it in place using Dimensionals. And that was it.  Pretty, isn't it?

Varied Vases, Thank You or Friendship Card

I saw this pretty card on Pinterest and I just had to make it. I have not used the "Varied Vases" set in a long time.  Other than to use the "Birthday Wishes" words. You can see the original card here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock.  The original card uses Flirty Flamingo.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I set up the Whisper White piece in my Stamparatus so I could stamp the scalloped image.  I wanted to get it as straight as possible.  I stamped it using black Memento ink.

Then I stamped the words from the "Varied Vases" set using black Memento ink

I punched out the vases using the matching punch for the "Varied Vases" set.

I set them on the scalloped line so I could lightly mark with a pencil where the flowers would go. 

Stamping the flowers was easy enough. I just let the stems hang over the edge of my stamping block so I didn't have to mask anything off.  I should have stamped my flowers higher than the lines I had lightly drawn.

I colored the scalloped piece and the flowers using my Blender Pen and my Real Red ink pad.  I don't use my Blender pen much because I just LOVE my Blends Pens.

When I went to put the vases on they were too tall. I had to trim the top and bottoms of the right and left vase.  The center one was fine.  And the vases are not evenly spaced apart. This was a bit more difficult than I thought it would be.  Not that it doesn't look okay this way, I was just hoping to have them spaced nicer.  I do like the  card and how it looks.

Positive Thoughts, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog, Death of a Child Card

While looking though some files on my computer I found this poem. I had saved it to make a card using it some day.  I had just gotten the "Positive Thoughts" set an I thought I could try to make this poem work with it.

I typed the words on my computer and printed them out.  Then I die cut them with the pretty rectangle die that came in the "Nature's Thoughts" dies that are a part of the "Positive Thoughts" bundle.  

I took a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the leaves from the "Positive Thoughts" set using Granny Apple Green that I stamped off once and then onto the card front and then once more on the card front.  So I have some light and lighter leaves.

I cut a 2-1/3" x 4-5/8" piece of Petal Pink card stock for the back layer.  I taped the word piece to this piece. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on top of the card base.

I stamped the butterfly from the "Positive Thoughts" set and I die cut it out using the matching die. I also cut out the small butterfly that was also in the pack.  Both were done on Whisper White card stock.

I colored the butterfly using the light and dark Petal Pink Blends pens and the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen.  I also colored the tiny butterfly using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen.  I could have and probably should have cut it from the center of the Petal Pink layer, but I was in the designing process and not thinking frugal at the time.  I plan on making more of these. I'm going to be putting them in my web store.  If it's sold out, check back. I will be making more.

I liked making the butterfly, it's so pretty and easy to color.

This was a very simple card to make.

Perennial Birthday, Sesame Street via USPS, Children's Birthday Card

Today you get a bonus post.  My regular daily post will follow this one.  

This was a fun card to make because it is mostly recycled garbage!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  

The polka dot paper on the left is actually the flap from an envelope.  From the envelope of a birthday card I received in January.  I try to keep up on not hanging on to garbage, but the envelop flap was SO darn cute that I just couldn't put it in recycling yet.  I trimmed the envelop flap to 5-1/4" x and it measured 2-1/2" wide and I just left that.  I wasn't sure how big I needed it to be after trimming the next part, so I just left it.

Don't you just love the Sesame Street gang?  It's from the United States Post Office.  I bought a sheet of Sesame Street postage stamps.  The regular first class ones and this is the part on the sheet that you just toss out when you use up all the stamps. Or in my case, you cut the stamps from the entire sheet so they fit in the little photo case that I keep my stamps and return address labels in.  I trimmed the left side a little because I didn't cut it from the stamps, I ripped it.  But I didn't rip it too much, there was plenty of room left by Big Bird's foot.  I taped the Sesame Street image in place on the card, lining up the right side with the edge of the card.  I did trim that piece to measure 5-1/4" long and it ended up being 2-3/4" wide.  

The words are from the "Perennial Birthday" set.  I had stamped them some other time.  They were laying around on my worktable.  I was too lazy to get out the oval dies, so I punched the words with an oval punch and a scalloped oval punch for the Daffodil Delight layer.  But if you are going to try this, you can use what you have.  And the same with the envelope flap.  You can find some fun papers in your stash that will work.  The gang is full of fun colors so almost anything will compliment it.  I taped the ovals together and then I set them in place using Dimensionals.

This was a simple card to make because there was very little work involved.  Had I not found the words on my worktable I would have just had to stamp them and then do the layers the same.  Now I want to go to the post office and get another sheet of stamps!!!  I have some other polka dot paper that I'm sure will be just as cute.  But the whole point of this card was to use the recycled items to make a card.  And come to think of it, I don't believe you can recycle the Sesame Street image, it's shiny.  There's some restrictions to paper products that can and can't be recycled.  Anyway, I upcycled these materials and produced an adorable children's card!!!

Vintage Kids on a Sled Christmas Card

A while back I had purchased the PDF vintage image of the kids on a sled.  My plan was to make Christmas cards with it.  I did print some out for a friend for her birthday and she brought them with yesterday when she came to my home to stamp. I helped her with the card and this is what she ended up with.  I think I got the image on Etsy.  

The base of the card is Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Cajun Craze card stock that was textured with the "Falling Snow" embossing folder.

The "Merry Christmas" frame is "Simon Says Stamp" (SSS111393).  I bought this last year because it has the most cutest little snowflake in a small frame.  But as it turns out, it got used today on this card.  The die cut was used on a piece of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter paper.  That stuff is very tough to cut with this die.

Behind the word "Christmas" is a strip of Night of Navy. The panel was taped to the image and then the image was trimmed.  The piece was then set in place using Dimensionals.

A little spring die cut from some Dazzling Diamonds paper, was set in place below the image panel.

And that was it.  A pretty simple card to make.  Though a reasonable amount of time was spent cleaning out the word "Christmas" because of it not cutting very well.  

I love this image and I think I'm going to have to try some things with it to see if I should use it for our annual Christmas card.

Boo to You, Monster Spray, Weekend

Today I was looking at my "Boo to You" set and thought I should use it because of it being mostly a Halloween set. And then I remembered, I didn't need to use it just at Halloween, it could be used to make "Monster Spray" labels.  Many years ago I had made "Monster Spray" using the Halloween set available at the time.  That was back in 2006.  WOW, that was a long time ago.  I still like the look of that label and now I have a new label and a new look that I also like. You can see my first "Monster Spray" cans here. I posted several in a row because I was making them for a craft fair.  Oh and they did sell well! 

I have a tip here before you assemble. Make sure you leave some extra card stock on the sides so you have a little bit of an overlap for the glue to stick or you may end up having to use Scotch tape and your can won't have as nice a look as you would have hoped it would.

To make my label, I printed out the words on my computer. I had found the font "Dripping Blood" and thought it would look fun.  After printing, I set the card stock over the air freshener to get my measurements. I first trimmed off on the bottom.  Then I measured around my can and cut each side pretty close to evenly.  And then I stamped my images. I used the cute critters from the "Boo to You" set.  It's TOO darn cute.  I colored them in using Blends Pens.  After coloring I took the card stock and ran it over the corner of my worktable, with my left hand on top and my right hand pulling it so it would have some curl.  Then I rolled it up to give it a bit more curl.  It's really difficult to get a straight piece of card stock to stay on a round spray can.  I affixed the label to the can by first running some snail tape down the center of the card stock. Then I lined up the top edge of the spray can and slowly worked the piece around the can to make sure it was straight.  I then glued one end on top of the other end.  I added some rubber bands around the can to help hold the ends down until the glue set up a bit.  You can use your bone folder to burnish that edge and help the glue adhere better.  Once the glue was set I removed the rubber bands and it was done.

Monster Spray

Every night

when I’m asleep

Into my room

the monsters creep

I call to Mom,

“Please come and stay!

And don’t forget

the monster spray!”

She comes right in

and sprays right here.

Then all the monsters

disappear!

Have fun making these!!  Hopefully there will be a fun set next year so I don't end up waiting another 13 years to make a new label.  Actually, the set last year was cute but the thought of using it for Monster Spray didn't even enter my head.

Boo to You, Monster Bash, Halloween Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

Late yesterday my order arrived and today I get to play with it.  Usually UPS delivers in the afternoon, around 3 or so.  Yesterday I was out shopping and I got a message on my phone that there was motion detected at my door. I looked and a package was delivered. I was excited because I thought my Stampin' Up! order had arrived.  But I was out shopping and I kept getting messages on my phone that there was movement at the door. I'd check but all it turned out to be was cars going by on the wet street.  The sensitivity is a bit high on the motion/sound part.  But that's okay and my package was safe. Though you'd think that these delivery people would try to put the package where it wasn't so noticeable, like the opposite side of our door.  It's more difficult to see anything there.  And I love the delivery drivers that set the package right in front of the door. One time the package was SO heavy that I could hardly get the door open to get at it.  What if there had been a fire?  I often wonder how these people are trained.  Anyway, my order came later that afternoon and I opened it last night and sorted out everything.  Today I looked for something fun on the net to make with the "Boo to You" set and this is what I found.  You can see the original card here.  

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Granny Apple Green card stock.  This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

On top of the card base is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock.  And on top of that is two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Monster Bash" 12" x 12" paper pack.  I cut the spider web piece 3-7/8" x 3" and the bottom books piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 2".  I turned the DSP over and using my grid paper I placed them so they measured 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I used scotch tape to hold the two pieces together on the backside.  The bottom piece was just long enough to allow for the overlap.  I took a piece of black ribbon that I had and wrapped it around the front on the seam and taped the ends on the backside.  Then I taped that piece to the Basic Black piece.  And then that piece was added to the card base using Dimensionals.

I stamped the cute monster from the "Boo to You" set using black Memento ink. I die cut him using the largest Stitched Circle die. I colored him using the light Highland Heather Blends pen.  Then I used the dark pen to color the darker areas and inside the mouth.  I came back with the light pen and blended the edges of the dark so they didn't look so hard and sharp.  I colored the toenails and the dots in the horns using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen.  And the rest of the horn and eyes were colored in using the dark Granny Apple Green Blends pen.  I colored in the eyes because I could see white on the original card and I thought if I colored in the eyes it would blend in better.  It does and I like the look.  I set the circle in place on the card using Dimensionals.

The words are from the same set. I stamped them using black Memento ink and I used a 3/4" circle punch and punched them out.  I added a dimensional to the right side and snail tape on the left and then I set the words in place on the front of the card.

The original card had some spiders she said she die cut from the "Wicked" set. I didn't have that set but I did have some spiders that I had laying around in my stash so I used them.  I was going to use the new cute bat punch but bats and spiderwebs don't really go together as well as spiderwebs and spiders.  I had added the spiders using a small Dimensional under each one and that was it, the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make.  I LOVE the monster and I can see myself playing with him a lot (but not too much) from now until Halloween.  The sad thing about all these new items is that my other new stuff will now be just sitting there being ignored.  LOL  I will try to play with them too but it's always more fun to play with the new stuff!!!  And once again I learned a lesson and that's to not go so overboard on the new stuff from the big catalog when it comes out.  Will I ever learn???

Anyway, I can see myself making more fun cards with this guy and the other two images in the set, a wolfman and a zombie.  SO fun!!

A Little Lace, Beautiful Boutique, Corner Tuck Technique, Thank You Card

 Today I wanted to play with the "A Little Lace" set and I ran across this fun technique.  Bonus!!! You can see a video of the technique here.  I'll provide you with the scaled down version.

The base of the card is an 8" x 4-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock.  It was scored at 2-1/2".  That scored piece is folded inward.  A 2-1/4" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Magnolia Lane" 12" x 12" paper pack was taped on the small flap.

A 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Cajun Craze was cut for the back layer of the focal piece.  The focal piece was cut using a 3" x 4" piece of Whisper White card stock. The original piece was cut from the thick Whisper White card stock. I just used the regular thickness.  Another piece was cut for the inside.  The image was stamped on the outside piece using black Memento ink.  It was colored using the Cajun Craze, light and dark Blends pens and the Petal Pink light and dark Blends pen.  There's also a touch of light Granny Apple Green in there for the leaves.  Click on the photo for a closer view.

The words are from the "Beautiful Boutique" set.  I wanted to make a thank you card and the words that came with the set didn't have a thank you.  The words that come in the set are fun and I will probably play with them at another time. The words were stamped using black Memento ink.

On the inside piece I stamped the small flower that was in the set and I colored it as I did the larger flowers.  

The corner piece is a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock that was cut in half on the diagonal.  I stamped the outside of it using the border image that came with the "A Little Lace" set.  

I taped the front piece to the Cajun Craze piece.  I taped that to the DSP panel.  I first centered the layered panel so I knew where to add the tape.  You don't want to tape your card shut.  Then I added tape to the back of the inside panel.  With the card open I set the inside panel over the Cajun Craze piece (stamped side down). I lined it up and then I just shut the card.  The piece was centered and no edges show.  

And the final step was attaching the corner tuck piece.  You just add a glue dot to the three corners.  Line the two edges up on the inside of the card and set in place.  Close your card and tuck that top corner in and the card is done.  Well, almost.  I did add the faceted gems to the center of the flowers.  

This was a fun and easy technique to do.  If I were to change anything, I think I would have taken that other corner piece and worked it into the design on the bottom left of the card for balance.  I'll have to give that a try sometime and see what it looks like.

Beautiful Promenade, Mother's Day Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog

At first I was wondering why I bought this set but now that I've played with it a bit more I am liking it. Especially because it has matching die cuts!  You know me and fussy cutting!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock.  And on top of that is a 4-7/8" x 3-3/8" piece of Whisper White that I textured using the "Tufted" embossing folder.  I taped the embossed layer to the Highland Heather layer.

I stamped the flower on a piece of scrap Whisper White card stock using Gorgeous Grape ink.  This stamp is a two step one, so I had stamped the outer part first and then I stamped the inside lines. I think they are a bit too dark and maybe stamping off once might have done the trick, but it is what it is for this card!

I almost fussy cut the flower and then I remembered that I had bought the bundle, so I had the stamps and the matching dies.  Yay!!!  So when I die cut the flower I also die cut some leaves using a scrap piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.  

I took a strip I had cut off when cutting the Highland Heather piece and I cut it to 3-3/8" long and I left the width as it was.  I taped that strip about 1-1/8" up from the bottom of the embossed piece.  Then I added the flower using Dimensionals.  I glued the leaves in place.  

The words were from my computer.  I ran across a stash of stuff and those were in it so I thought I would us them.  No more hoarding! (ya, right!  LOL).  I had punched the out using the "Classic Label" punch but I ended up cutting the ends off to make it fit.  I don't like that part of the Highland Heather strip showing so I think I may add another leaf there to cover it some.

I set the Highland Heather and Whisper White layers on top of the card front using Dimensionals. 

And to complete the card I added some purple sequins that I had.  They are not from Stampin' Up! but they matched and made the card prettier.

This was a fun card to make and I look forward to playing with this set again.

Butterfly Gala, 2019 Occasions Catalog, Thank You Card, Botanical Butterfly

Well, isn't this a fun set to play with?  I can't wait to stamp some more cards with it.  I'm loving the butterflies in it!  The "Butterfly Gala" set has both butterflies and words to the set. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens at the bottom.

First I took a quarter sheet of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the butterfly using black Memento ink.  I chose the one that looked like a Monarch butterfly. I set up the stamp in the Stamparatus because I knew I needed to make at least three.  Since I used a quarter sheet of card stock, I planned on making four sets.  I say sets because the butterfly also has a small one attached to it so when you punch it out they are both lined up together.  Very cleaver! 

Next I stamped the top part of the butterfly using Pumpkin Pie ink.  Then I stamped the bottom part of the butterfly, again using Pumpkin Pie ink.

I lined up the body pieces and stamped them using black Memento ink.  Then I stamped the antennas but once I was ready to punch the butterflies out I realized I shouldn't have stamped them.  But what is done is done and I proceeded forward!

I cut a 2" x 3-3/4" piece of the small buffalo check paper from the "Botanical Butterfly" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I taped the DSP in place on the left side of the card front.  

I set the butterflies on the card front for placement but I didn't stick them down.  The words are also from the "Butterfly Gala" set using black Memento ink. 

Then I set the butterflies in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  Super easy and quick card. I LOVE that punch!! I don't think I would like fussy cutting all of those butterflies.  Maybe one but not three.  I punched four because I stamped for. Now I have an extra one plus for tiny ones to play with later!!!

This was a fun card to make and these butterflies are making me wish for spring to be here.

Hearts Come Home, Seasonal Chums, Christmas Card

Today's card was a fun and quick one.  Though I'm not so fond of using markers on the rubber stamps anymore when I can just set it up on the Stamperatus and work on it from there.  I wanted my ink a bit darker on the house and if I had use the Stamperaus I would have gotten what I was looking for.  But what I ended up with is fine too.  I found this card on Pinterest.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade card stock. On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White that I textured using the "Softly Falling" embossing folder.

I die cut a medium size Poppy Parade scalloped circle and I die cut the second largest stitched circle.

I stamped the house first. It's from the "Hearts Come Home" set. I thought I would use that set a bit more because I'm pretty sure it's going to retire. I had used the Poppy Parade marker and a Smoky Slate marker to color in the house and roof.  I stamped the roof again and fussy cut it out.  I set the roof in place using Dimensionals and the more I look at it, I am thinking it's just sticking out too much and looks SO out of place.

The trees are from the same set and I stamped them using Old Olive on the larger ones and Pear Pizzazz on the smaller ones.  

The words are from the "Seasonal Chums" set (that will probably be retiring soon too).  I stamped them using Smoky Slate ink.

I taped the circles together and taped them to the Whisper White piece. The Whisper White piece was taped to the card base.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of  Whisper White to the inside of the card and it was done.

It's a very quick card to make and I'd like it much better if the roof wasn't set in place with Dimensionals!

Warm Hearted, Christmas Card, using Santa's Workshop Specialty Designer Series Paper

It's NOT a Paper Pumpkin card!!!  I wanted to continue using the pieces in my November Paper Pumpkin kit but I know I've made and posted a lot of cards from the kit so I thought I should try something else!!!

I had this strip of red and fuzzy white striped paper from the "Santa's Workshop" Specialty Designer Series Paper (SDSP).  That strip measures 1-3/8" x 4-3/4".  I don't like to throw out scraps and sometimes I actually use them! I liked this SDSP because the white is felted. It's so soft and fuzzy!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock. On top of that is the strip of SDSP. I layered it with a 1-1/2" x 4-7/8" piece of Poppy Parade card stock.

I die cut a Poppy Parade oval while I still had the card stock out.

I stamped the words from the "Warm Hearted" set using Poppy Parade ink on Whisper White card stock. I die cut them with an oval die. I cut the words so there was a larger space at the bottom.  I taped the two ovals together and set them in place using Dimensionals. 

At the bottom of the word oval I had punched out two Old Olive card stock sprigs using the "Sprig" punch. I used glue dots to hold the two springs together and I used another glue dot to affix the springs to the Whisper White piece.  

I colored three crystal rhinestones using the Real Red Blends pen. I set them in place on the sprigs and the card was done.

It's a quick, clean and simple card.

Beautiful Blizzard, Blizzard, Christmas Card

I am such a lover of snowflakes.  I don't like a ton of snow outside but a nice ground cover is perfect!!  I bought this "Beautiful Blizzard" bundle. The bundle includes the stamp set and the dies.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock.  

Next I die cut the snowflakes using the "Blizzard" thinlits die.  I cut the large one and the smaller one from Whisper White card stock.  I took a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and sprayed it with Balmy Blue ink mixed with rubbing alcohol.  When the card stock dried, I die cut the second largest one.

I set the largest one on top of the card stock to see where to sponge on the Balmy Blue ink.  In person you can see it better, it's very soft and subtle.  Setting the snowflake back on the card stock also allowed me to stamp Balmy Blue snowflakes on the left side of the card.  I stamped the words from the "Beautiful Blizzard".  I also stamped them using Balmy Blue ink.

Next I glued the large snowflake on the Whisper White card stock.  Then I glued the center of the second snowflake to the center of the large snowflake. And I glued the smaller snowflake on.  I added a crystal rhinestone to the center of the top snowflake.  I taped the Whisper White piece to the card base and I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.  I think it took longer to explain how to make it than it did to actually make it!! LOL

Dandelion Wishes, Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

Today I thought I would finally get that birthday card that I needed last month.  Nothing like dragging my feet.  Though I have been busy with craft fairs and orders from my web store, plus having a nasty cold.  And then there's always the "I didn't need it right away" thing too!! LOL  I would love to just make the cards I need for each month and have them ready.  But I would probably lose them!  I know me WAY too well!!!! LOL

This was a very fun card to make and I love mixing the Highland Heather with the Basic Gray.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock.  This card opens at the bottom.  I textured the front using the "Tufted" embossing folder.  This is such a fun folder to play with and it's got such nice deep lines.  I love using it for wedding cards!

I stamped the dandelion image from the "Dandelion Wishes" stamp set on Whisper White card stock.  The person that is getting this card loves the images in that set.  I used Basic Gray ink to stamp it.  I added some Wink of Stella to the ends of the seeds but it doesn't show in the photo.  What would also look nice would be a clear Faceted Gem to the center. I may just add that once I'm done posting.  It would give the dandelion a little more depth than just the Wink of Stella.  I trimmed the Whisper  White card stock to 4" x 2-3/4". 

I cut a piece of Highland Heather 4-1/8" x 2-7/8". Before I taped it to the Whisper White piece, I  die cut the scalloped oval.  I actually remembered to do that this time. I usually do remember it but only after I taped the layers together!!!

The words are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using Basic Gray ink on Whisper White card stock.  I die cut it with an oval die and taped it to the scalloped oval. 

I set the dandelion panel in place using Dimensionals and I taped the top part of the oval layers to the bottom corner of the focal image. I added a couple of Dimensionals, one to the bottom and one to the right, just for balance.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside and the card was done.

I want to make some wedding and anniversary cards using the "Tufted" embossing folder.

Toil & Trouble, Cauldron Boil, Cauldron Framelits, Halloween Candy Bar Sleeve

It's a little difficult to see here but there's a big 4 oz. Ghirardelli candy bar in there.  It's for my hubby.  It's 100% cacao.  I shiver just thinking about it.  I'm not very fond of semi-sweet chocolate but 100%.  A Robitussin shiver comes over me just thinking about even a taste of it!! NO thanks!!!  LOL  

I took the frogs sheet from the "Toil & Trouble" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I just set the candy bar on top of the DSP and folded the paper around it. I ran my fingers across the edges to form the fold lines.  Then I removed the candy bar and actually folded those lines nice and crisp! 

Then the decorating.  I die cut the spider web, the witch, cat and cauldron.  I had die cut the web using double sided sticky sheet so it could be a sticker.  I set that in place behind the witch.  

The words are from the "Cauldron Boil" and were stamped using black Memento ink on Whisper White card stock. I punched them out using a 1" circle punch.  I taped it directly to the Crushed Curry layer.  Oh, behind that Crushed Curry piece is a layer of Basic Black card stock.

I set the witch, cat and cauldron in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.  Now I'm off to deliver it to the hubby so he leaves the candy alone that's meant for the Trick or Treaters!  He's the worst!

This is a fun way to dress up a candy bar.  I plan on doing something like this for Christmas too.  Now if it were me, I wouldn't need another candy bar.  There would be plenty of this one left over for years to come!!! LOL
