The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Old Olive card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.
I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock. One I taped to the inside and the other I taped to the outside.
Using a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute as a Bug" 12" x 12" package. I trimmed the piece at the top. I cut from the upper left point to 1-3/4" down from the top.
I took a piece of Old Olive card stock and cut it 4-1/4" x 2" and cut it diagonally.
The Basic White triangle was cut next. I cut the piece at 3-7/8" on the long side and 1-5/8" on the short side. If you cut your card stock at 3-7/8" x 1-5/8" you will get two pieces. One of them will be facing the way you want it. With the white piece it's not that important but with the DSP it is.
For the DSP piece it measures 1-5/8" on the short side and 3-5/8" on the long side. Again, if you cut a rectangle 1-5/8" x 3-1/8" and cut it in half on an angle you will have two pieces and one of them will face the direction you want. I messed my pieces up by trying to just cut it as it looks on the card instead of making a rectangle. SO much easier cutting the rectangle.
Once those were cut I taped them together and then taped that to the Old Olive piece that was cut. I taped this piece to the front of the card. The narrow tip touched the upper left corner and the right tip touched the right edge. I lay my taped piece on top of my card but I never press down on it until I've got things adjusted to where I like it or where they belong. Once I got my tips matched up and then pressed down.
The circles is cut from a piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock. I had originally cut it from Basic White but didn't like the look of the bug on it. So using the 4th largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut my circle.
The bug is from the same package of DSP. I cut it from the matching die in the "Sweet Bugs" bundle. I laid it on the circle, holding it firmly I turned it over and traced the back of the circle so I would know where not to put the Dimensionals. The Dimensionals were added and I set the circle on top. I added tape to the back of the circle and set it in place on the front of the card.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on one of the shapes from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. When you cut one word on there you cut a bunch of other shapes. It's just one larger die and you get a variety of pieces. It was kind of nice to have something precut when it came to all the fussy figuring I had done with that triangle. I stamped the words using Mossy Meadow ink and set it in place using Dimenisonals.
I added a little ladybug from the "Ladybug" embellishments package. And the card was done.
Now that I have the measurements I'm going to use this layout again sometime. But first I have to make my copier paper sample so I have it for future reference.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
