Delicate Dreams, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found this on Pinterest. It's supposed to be a fun fold card but I don't do too many of them because some of the recipients don't know what to do with them. Like self-standing ones or flipping ones. So if I like the looks of the layout then I'll run with that and omit the fancy/fun part. You can see the original card by clicking here.  While there I saw a few more cards that caught my eye. They may be showing up in a few days! Maybe!  Please read on to see how I put today's card togehter.

For the base of my card I used a half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Secret Sea card stock. Before taping it to the front, I cut the large layer from it's center. I used the 4th largest die in the "Branching Out" bundle. 

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Crumb Cake card stock was cut for the second largest layer. On top of that layer I taped the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Delicate Dreams" 12" x 12" package. I had cut the piece at 3-3/4" x 5-1/8"". I trimmed each strip to 1-7/8" x 5-1/8". I flipped one strip over and taped them to the front of the card. 

The focal piece was next. Using the 5th largest die in the "Branching Out" dies, I cut a one of Basic White card stock. I stamped the flowery looking greenery image from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle using Crumb Cake ink.

I cut several "greenery" pieces using the dies in the "Delicate Whispers" bundle. I cut one of Basic White and using the same die, I cut one of Crumb Cake card stock. There are two smaller thin ones on the upper left area and those were cut using Basic Beige card stock. Those pieces were glued in place. I just added a little bit of glue on some of the middle wider areas and set them in place on the focal piece. 

The flowers were cut using another piece of the DSP. I cut five large and five small and glued them together. Then they were glued in place on the front of the card. I added little pearls to the center of each flower. The piece was then taped to the Secret Sea layer. Dimensionals were added to the back of that and it was set in place on the center of the card. I just eyed it. I always figure that if it looks centered to me then it's centered enough!

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Crumb Cake card stock using Pecan Pie ink. I punched them out using the "Three Banner" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card. I doubled stacked the Dimensional on the right end so it didn't droop.  It was a bit too long to hang over the focal piece without drooping. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I really did enjoy making it. I could see myself making more in the future.

Brushed With Beauty, Layers of Beauty, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have an anniversary card to share with you. I found this card on Pinterest and I changed it a little bit. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Petal Pink card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Very Vanilla card stock. I taped one on the inside of the card. The other I textured using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder.

I glued the textured piece to a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. That was then taped to the front of the card base.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I used various dies from the "Spotlight on Nature" dies. 

I laid the circles out the way they are on the original card. I glued the smallest one down first. Then the top left one next. The largest circle was added third and the small bottom left circle was added last. I glued all of them in place instead of tape because tape doesn't always stick well on textured paper.

The words are from the "Layers of Beauty" bundle and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on Very Vanilla card stock. I cut them out using the second smallest die from the "Nested Essentials" die set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The cluster of flowers was fussy cut and set in place using tape on the two leaves that touch the rectangle and Dimensionals on the rest of the piece. It was set in place so that some of it lays on the rectangle. Plus I made it so it hid some of the gap between the two green circles.

I added a few retired Petal Pink "Foiled Gems" to the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. There was some fussy cutting but it went pretty fast. I did all of the die cut pieces at one time so that went quick too.

Layers of Beauty, Banner Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Melon Mambo for the largest layer. 

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the top layer. I textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I taped it in place on top of the Melon Mambo piece.

The floral image is from the "Layers of Beauty" bundle. I had run across this on my worktable and it was already colored. What was I waiting for?  I fussy cut it out but should have pulled out the bundle because there's a die in it to cut all of this out.  Oh well, it is what it is!  

The flowers were colored in using Blends pens. I had used Petal Pink light for the flowers. Then I used both light and dark Melon Mambo for the details. The leaves were colored in with light and dark Old Olive. 

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle.  I taped it on top of a 7/8" x 2-5/8" piece of Melon Mambo and trimmed the ends to match the word piece.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the floral piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. 

The words were taped in place next and the card was done.

I thought about adding some embellishments but I am going to be mailing this so I didn't want to have to spend any extra in postage. 

It's always fun to run across something that is done being colored (though I am still wondering why I abandoned it), it makes putting a card together quick and easy!

Brushed With Beauty, Petals of Beauty, The Right Words, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share with you. It's a pretty quick and easy card to put together. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I cut a 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the large layer.

Two strips of DSP were added to the Very Vanilla piece. They measure 3-1/2" x 1-1/2" and the other measures 3-1/2" x 1". I taped them in place about 1/2" from the top and two sides of the piece. 

I cut a 3/8" x 3-7/8" strip of DSP that matched the large background piece and taped it over the strips about 2" up from the bottom.

Next I stamped the words. They are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

The piece was then taped to the front of the card.

I stamped the flowers next from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle. I used Petal Pink for the base of the flowers and Calypso Coral for the outline. Daffodil Delight was colored in the center using a Blends pen. I cut them out using the matching dies.

I also cut the leaves from the same dies using Mossy Meadow card stock. 

Dimensionals were added to the back of the large flower. I pressed the smaller flower to the larger flower so a Dimensional would hold it in place. I did the same for the leaves. Tape was added to the back of the leaves and the smaller flower and it was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I didn't add any bling because it is going in the mail and I didn't want to spend any extra on postage. Postage is getting SO expensive so I have to cut corners where I can.

Lovely Blossoms, Everyday Arches, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Lovely Blossoms" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the card base.

The floral image is also from the same package of DSP. I cut it from a sheet that has various images on it. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set on the front of the card, centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The "hello" is from the "Everyday Arches" bundle. The stamp set is retired but the dies are, at the moment, still current. I stamped them using Secret Sea ink on Basic White card stock. I fussy cut them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and I set them in place on the front of the card. That was the part of the card that took the longest. It's nice when everything else is pretty much done for you.

For a final touch I added a couple of retired black sequins I had left in my stash. I finally used them up! Yay and shocker at the same time! LOL

I didn't have a lot of time today to make a card but I'm glad I ran across this package of DSP and saw this flower image. It made a quick and easy card and allowed me to have more time today to get a few things done that I needed to do.

Edited: I didn't notice it until now but the red line on the card is from when I was adding my name to the bottom right. I must have touched the red pencil on the editing program. But it's really not on the card. I need to pay better attention to the pics before I post. Sorry.

Brushed With Beauty, Everyday Arches, All in a Row, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the card base.

Next I worked on the triangles. I cut them from a piece of DSP from the same package. It measured 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" and I cut it along the diagonal. I taped them to a 2-7/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and then that was taped to a 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" piece of Calypso Coral. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

I cut a 5/8" x 5" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "All in a Row" embossing folder. I glued it in the center of the card.

The square piece was centered on the card next.

I ran across the "hello" on my worktable and I thought I'd use it. It's from the "Everyday Arches" bundle and it had been stamped using black Memento ink. I do not remember the die that was used to cut it out. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the square and the card was done. Though I think the large DSP background could use something. I may add some sequins or I may just leave it as it is.

Brushed With Beauty, Peaceful Pier, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. It was all of those different sized strips that caught my eye and I just had to give that a try. You can see the original card by clicking here. There were no instructions so I had to wing it and that's why mine looks a little different than the original. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I started out cutting my strips. I had watched the video and the placement of her card stock. She was measuring in centimeters (UGH) so I flipped my ruler over and began! The whole piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package measures 7-1/2cm x 10 cm.  The pieces are cut at 1cm, 1-1/2cm, 2cm, 2-1/2cm, and 3cm.  That's the worst part of the card because I did the rest in inches!  I'm sure you've survived the metric episode! I did!!! LOL

A 4-3/4" x 3-1/3" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the layer the strips will be taped to. The video showed the strips being taped from largest at the top to smallest at the bottom. I didn't pay attention so mine is the opposite but it really doesn't matter, either one looks good. 

I taped the top piece in place and to keep my spaces spaces even, I took a round toothpick and butted it up to the strip and I butted the next one up to the other side of the toothpick. I held the toothpick in place as I did this so it stayed straight and was firmly set on the edge of the prior strip.  I did not press down on the strips until I was done setting them all in place, just in case they were a little off on one end. I did have to adjust my last two strips on one side and I was able to do that easily.

Once the strips were in place I stamped the words from the "Peaceful Pier" using black Memento ink.

The piece was then taped to a 5" x 3-3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. Dimenisonals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

It's pretty simple once you have all the measurements. And now you do!

With You In Mind, Brushed With Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you using a layout at a friend's blog. You can see her creation by clicking here. Mine is a little different but I was inspired by Lynette's card. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the largest layer.

The panel pieces are made using Calypso Coral card stock for the base and "Brushed With Beauty" Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 12" x 12" package. I cut the top piece of card stock to measure 3-3/4" x 2-1/8" and I cut the bottom piece to measure 3-3/4" x 1-1/8". The DSP was cut at 3-12" x 1-7/8" for the top piece and 3-1/2" x 7/8" for the bottom piece.  I taped the layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back.

I set the DSP layered pieces on my Basic White layer to see where the wording would go.  The "Happy Birthday" is from the "With You In Mind" set with black Memento ink.

Once the words were stamped I set the panels in place.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the Basic White layer and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I added some enamel dots that I had in my stash. I don't know what package they came from, the were just in a little zip baggie.  But they were close enough to the right color so I used them.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I think it would be great for DSP that is a bit "busy".

Lovely & Beautiful, Simply Said, Birthday Cards, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy card to share with you. I have two sheets of this Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the "Lovely & Beautiful" 12" x 12" package that I have hardly used. Please read on to see how it was made. 

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock for the solid layer. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of the DSP from the "Lovely & Beautiful" package. I taped that to the Petal Pink piece and then that was taped to the card base.

I cut a 1" x 3-3/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued the piece to the front of the card about 1" from the bottom edge of the card base. I set it under my stamping mat to dry flat.

Using some gold foil card stock I had, I die cut the leafy image from the "Delicate Whispers" bundle. I set it aside. 

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Calypso Coral ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the "Labeled with Love" die. Dimensionals were added to the back.

I added the gold foiled leaves using glue dots that I rolled up so they'd fit on the widest leaves.

The word piece is set in place. I thought I'd add a little daisy embellishment, so I glued it in place and the card was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make. Plus I was able to use a bigger piece of DSP.

Peaceful Pier, Brushed With Beauty, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I used a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Petal Pink card stock for the back layer.

A 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the front.

Using the 3rd and 4th stitched square dies in the "Stylish Shapes" set I cut the larger one from the center of the Petal Pink large layer piece. And I used the smaller one to cut the floral image from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP). I taped these two pieces together. 

I laid the floral layered piece on top of the Basic White layer to see where I wanted the words would go.

The words are from the "Peaceful Pier" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. Then I textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I taped the embossed piece to the Petal Pink piece and then that was taped to the front of the card.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the square piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. I was able to follow the lines of the embossing because I actually embossed them perfectly straight. The square layered piece is about 1/2" from the fold and the top of the card.  And that was it. 

This card was super quick and easy to make. It's great for those small scrap pieces of DSP that I just can't seem to let go of. You never know when you need them! 

I think this layout would be great for a sympathy card or a note card. Depending what you put in the middle, be it DSP or a die cut image, you can use this for a number of other occasions!

Brushed with Beauty, Petals of Beauty, Simply Said, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

 Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another masculine birthday card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pecan Pie card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  

I cut two pieces of Very Vanilla card stock at 4" x 5-1/4".  I taped one on the inside and the other I textured using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card.  I placed it under my stamping mat to keep it flat while the glue set up.

In the meantime I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package.  I cut the green one at 1-3/4" x 4-1/2".  And I cut the word one using 1-3/4" x 3-1/2". I glued the green one down first and it's about 1/2" from the fold, the top edge and the bottom edge.  I also glued the other piece in place. It's about 3/4" from the edge of the green piece and about 1/2" from the top and bottom edges of the green piece. I place it back under my mat to set up.

I cut the leaves from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle using Mossy Meadow and Very Vanilla card stock. I added tape to the bottom leaves and set them in place about 2" from the right edge of the card base and 1-5/8" from the right edge of the card base.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I cut them out using the third largest die in the "Nested Essentials" die set. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the card base and 3/8" from the right edge of the card base.  And the card was done.

This was another quick and easy masculine card to make. I figured out you can't go wrong with leaves on a masculine card!

Simply Said, Brushed with Beauty, Masculine Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a masculine birthday card to share with you. I find it difficult to make masculine cards because there's not a lot of stamps out there to foot the bill. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card base and I set it under my stamping mat to set up and to help it lay flat while it set up. 

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) I used here is from the 12" x 12" "Brushed with Beauty" package. I cut it at 2-1/8" x 4-1/4".  I taped that to a 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock and then that was taped to a 2-3/4" x 4-7/8" piece of Pecan Pie card stock. This was glued to the front of the card base about 5/16" from the fold, top, and bottom of the card edges. 

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Early Espresso ink on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I cut them out using the third largest rectangle die from the "Nested Essentials" die set.  I added Dimensionals to the back and I set the piece aside.

The leaves were cut from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle using Mossy Meadow card stock. I added tape the bottom two leaves. I set it in place measuring about 1-5/8" from the fold and 1-5/8" from the bottom edge of the card from the bottom stem of the leaf piece.

After setting the leaves in place I set the word piece in place about 1" from the bottom edge of the card and 1/2" from the right side and the card was done. 

This was a very quick and easy card to make. And I'm hoping that leaves are okay for a masculine card.

Greenery Lane, Lovely Arrangements, Banner Sayings, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thank you card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

I had some fun working with layers. The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Stone & Vine" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and I set it under my stamping mat to keep it flat while the glue set.

Next I made the strips. I took a quarter sheet of Basic White card stock and taped some "Greenery Lane" washi tape to it.  Then I cut my strips. They measure 1-3/16" x 3-5/8".  You will want to keep them in order so when they go on the front of the card they will just look separated but you will still see all the parts. That probably doesn't make sense the way I worded it but trust me, you want to keep the pieces in order. 

I cut a 3-7/8" x 4" piece of Garden Green card stock and I taped those strips to it. I started with the left strip and then added the right strip. I save the center strip for last because it will help keep the spacing looking even. Then I glued this piece to the front of the card allowing equal spacing between the top, bottom and left edges. 

The greenery piece is from the "Greenery Lane" bundle and were cut out using one of the leaf dies on Garden Green card stock.

I stamped the words next. They are from the "Lovely Arrangements" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out with the die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I cut a 1" strip of Garden Green card stock (the piece left over from cutting the layer for the strips) and I taped the word piece to it. Then I trimmed the edges with my scissors. 

I added a little tape to the stem area of the greenery piece and set the word piece in place over the top of it using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a quick and simple card to make. I'm still on the fence of whether or not I like it. I think it could use something more.

Impressions Abloom, Love Notes, The Right Words, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a thinking of you card to share. I found it on Pinterest and thought I'd give this layout a try.  You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut 1/2" off the front right side. I cut a 3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" package. It was fun to use more pieces from that package since it's main theme is Valentine's Day. I taped that strip to the inside of the card on the right edge. It shows when the card is closed. When the card is closed it looks like the strip was taped to the front but it's really on the inside.

Next I cut three strips of the same color of DSP that measure 5/8" x 2-1/4" each.  I taped them to the front of the card. Starting with the bottom strip, it's about 1-3/8" up from the bottom and 1-1/8" from the fold. There is a 1/8" space between the strips. The second strip is about 5/8" from the fold and the top is the same as the bottom, 1-1/8" from the fold. 

Once the strips were taped in place I stamped the words. They are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using Highland Heather ink.

The flowers, stem and leaves were cut next. Using Basic White card stock I used the dies from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle.  

I added glue to the double stem and set it in place on the front of the card. The smaller flower was taped in place and the larger flower was added using Dimensionals.  I taped the leaves on either side of the double stems. 

The tiny little flowers were taped in place and the card was done. I was going to add little pearls to the little flowers but I didn't want to pay extra postage to mail it. It looks fine without them but it would look prettier with them. I may add some Wink of Stella to the little flowers to give them the bling they are begging for.

This was such a fun, quick, and easy card to make. You can use up some of your scraps when making a card like this.

Brushed with Beauty, Simply Said, Petals of Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you using a simple layout. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of VeryVanilla card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. On top of that is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card base.

Next I cut the floral image. It's another piece from the same package of DSP. It measures 2" x 3" and the Mossy Meadow behind it measures 2-1/4" x 3-1/4". I taped the two layers together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place and set aside.

The Mossy Meadow leaves were cut from Mossy Meadow card stock using a die from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle. I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and stuck the leaf piece to it. I added some tape to the top four leaves and I set the piece in place on the front of the card about 1/2" from the top, bottom, and left side.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I fussy cut around them. Then I glued them to a scrap piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and then I fussy cut around that. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I just think the flowers on that DSP are SO pretty.

Petals of Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found this pretty card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here. There was no link to find any information on how the card was made so I had to wing it.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card i a folded half-sheet of Basic Beige card stock.  It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and one of Basic Beige. I taped the white one inside the card and I began work on the beige one.

I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Bushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the right side of the piece. I also cut a 1/4" x 5-1/4" strip of Calypso Coral card stock and glued it to the edge of the DSP. 

Then I ran the piece through my embossing machine using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card base.

I stamped the flowers from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle using Calypso Coral on the large one and Petal Pink on the smaller one. I stamped off once for the petals and then I used full ink on the outline of the petals.  I cut them out using the matching dies.

I cut the leaves from the same bundle. I used Old Olive on the tall open one and Mossy Meadow on the wider leafed piece.

A little bit of tape was added to the area where the flowers would go and I set the greenery in place. The flowers were added using Dimensionals.

The words were done on my computer. They were sitting on my worktable from a previous project and I didn't want them to get ruined so I thought I'd add it to this card and not have to think about it anymore. They were set in place with Dimensionals. But before I added them I tied a triple bow using linen thread. I added a dot of glue to hold it in place and then the words went on top.  And the card was done.

I just thought this was such a pretty card and I'm happy it turned out the way it did!

Greenery Lane, Lovely Arrangements, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

Using the 3rd and 4th dies in the "Arched Dies" set I cut the larger one out of Lost Lagoon and the other using Basic White card stock. I texture the Basic White piece using the "Stone and Vine" embossing folder. I glued it to the Lost Lagoon piece and then I taped that to the front of the card base about 1/2" up from the bottom and equally on each side. I set it under my beading mat to dry and to keep it flat as it dried.

Using the "Greenery Lane" washi tape, I rolled it out onto some Basic White card stock and then I cut out the pieces that I wanted to use. The tape has color sections and I chose some greens from each section.

I stamped the flowers next. They are from the "Greenery Lane" bundle and were stamped using Bubble Bath ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out with the matching dies.

The words are from the "Lovely Arrangements" bundle and were stamped using Lost Lagoon ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die in that same bundle. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I removed the card base from under my mat and began adding the greenery. I glued them in place on the right side of the arch. 

The flowers were glued in place and I added a little pearl to the center of each one.

I removed the backing on the Dimensionals and set the word piece in place on the lower part of the card about 7/8" up from the bottom edge of the card and the card was done.

I think this would make a great get well, Mother's Day, thinking of you, and even a sympathy card. It has a versatile look to it.  It was fun to make and I really enjoy playing with that washi tape.

Friendly Foliage, Beautiful Patterns, Banner Sayings, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I needed to make a sympathy card to bring with us tomorrow.  I found one on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There was no link to the card so I was unable to get any measurements. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White that I textured using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and set it under my stamping mat to keep the piece flat while the glue set up.

The top layer is a 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the focal piece. I stamped the image from the "Friendly Foliage" bundle using black Memento ink. Then I cut the center out using a matching die from the bundle. I added a scrap piece of Basic Black to the back and then Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on a 2-5/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Basic White card stock. 

A 4-1/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic White was cut for the next layer. I taped those two layers together. Then I removed the backing from the Dimensionals on the focal piece and set it on top of the those two Basic White pieces. 

Then all of that was glued in place on the center of the card. 

The words are from the "Peace on Earth" set using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the die from the "Banner Sayings" bundle. I set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals on the right and bottom and glue on the left and middle and the card was done.

This card has lots of layers but yet it went together pretty fast.

Lovely Blossoms, The Right Words, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a sympathy card to share with you. This is such a versatile layout that you could use it for a number of other occasions or events. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic White for the top solid layer. On top of that layer I cut strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Lovely Blossoms" 12" x 12" package. Going from left to right the pieces measure 1" x 3-3/4", 3/4" x 3-3/4" and 1/2" x 3-3/4". These were cut from a 3-3/4" x 2-1/4" piece of the DSP. The peach color is the backside of the floral side. I taped the strips in place. I always tape the end pieces on first and then fit in the center piece. 

The piece was set in place on the center of the card.

The words are from "The Right Words" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut the out using the die from the "Countryside Corners" set. Dimensionals were added to the back but not on about 1/2" from the left side. You don't want Dimensionals were the piece hangs over the striped panel.

I had some green "Candy Dots" (retired) and I added them to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. The most difficult part was trying to figure out what colors of DSP to use for the piece. There's so many fun possibilities in all the packages I have. I may take some retired card stock and whip up a few cards using this layout. And I may try adding a textured layer to the top of the card base to it won't look so plain. But for a sympathy card, plain is what it needed.

Fragrant Layers, With You In Mind, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. What peaked my interest was the wording. I have that stamp and have hardly used it so I thought I'd pull it off the shelf and play with it. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made. 

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock, it opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. 

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock for the largest layer. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "True Blue Florals" 12" x 12" package.  It measures 5-1/8" x 3-7/8" and was taped to the Night of Navy piece. Then I taped that to the front of the card base.

The Basic White focal piece was cut at 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" and was stamped using an image from the "Fragrant Layers". I stamped it using black Memento ink and then I colored it using my Blends pens. I used both light and dark Balmy Blue, light and dark Old Olive and light Lemon Lolly. 

I cut a piece of vellum at 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" and using Versa Mark ink with the "Happy Birthday" image from the "With You In Mind" set. I sprinkled black embossing powder on top and heat set it. 

A piece of Night of Navy card stock was cut for the top layer, it measures 3-5/8" x 2-5/8".  

I had to think about how I was going to attach the vellum piece because tape usually shows so I ended up taking a chance and using a piece of a double sided adhesive sheet.  I set the cut sheet on the backside of the vellum piece and then set the piece on top of the stamped and colored image. Tape was added to the back of the focal piece and it was set in place on the Night of Navy layer. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and was set in place on the front of the card. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it. And that was it, the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I was glad I took a chance on using the adhesive sheet on the vellum. I think it turned out well. And I was happy that I got to use the "With You In Mind" set. I think I've used it before but not very much!  I have a few more cards I'd like to make using this layout with the vellum.
