Blog Candy Winner!

Today is the day for the Blog Candy drawing.  I thought it would have been funny (and kind of eerie) had the Random Number Generator picked the #13! (the link for the generator is on the right sidebar, way down on the list). My grandma was a very superstitious person.  Her birthday was on September 13th and if it landed on a Friday she would stay indoors all day. Poor thing!  Fortunately for her that didn't happen too many times! But we made sure she had a nice birthday anyway!

WOW, I didn't think I was going to be able to post the Blog Candy winner today.  I was unable to access my blog yesterday due to some server issues.  I'm not sure what that means but I was glad to see that it was restored in it's entirety today!  I'm assuming it is.  I didn't check every post and I won't be but it looks like it's all here! How odd was that?  So the post I have for yesterday will be added on tomorrow.  I got a day off from posting!! LOL

What great and touching things you all got for Christmas. My favorite gift was a HUGE gift certificate at Amazon!!!  I LOVED it.  I also got a WONDERFUL Stampin' Up! gift certificate and I will be shopping later this week.  The new Occasions mini catalog has some REALLY fun stuff in it.  

Anyway, enough of that. I'm sure you want to see who the winner is so you can get back to playing with your Christmas gifts. Ok, one more note here on that.  Don't you just love to get things to play with?  It's like being a kid all over again at Christmas! I LOVE getting fun software, Sizzix dies, watercolors, etc.  Things like that bring back memories of getting toys for Christmas and all you want to do is go play with them!! LOL

Blog Candy Winner!

WOW, there were SO many great organizing ideas.  The one I saw come across a number of times is one that really hit one. It amounted to "put your stuff away when you are done."  I'm SO guilty of pushing the stuff to the side and starting a new project. And I am talking about pushing it so far to the side that it's on the edge of the table and one more little nudge and it greets the floor!! Oh and my next favorite thing to do is to move to the other worktable and fill that one!  I have lots of stuff that needs to be put way on the ledges.  I have things stuffed here and there and it's SO cluttered and messy looking in here.  I have new and probably some retired stamp sets on my ledge that were not cataloged because I didn't take the time to do it.  And perhaps it's because there is no room for them on the BIG 5 shelf book case.  I need to get some of the retired sets out of there to make room.  I know I can get rid of some of them but it just all takes time.  I need to make the time, even if it's just a little a day.  When our son moved out I started putting "stuff" in his room and especially on the bed.  It was just easier to set it there than to put it away.  After a while the piles of stuff seemd SO overwhelming that I didn't want to go in there anymore. But I had to go in there.  One of the cats is sort of confined to the room.  Mostly just at night though some mornings she doesn't get to get out right away because I need to vacuum and she's scared of it.  Plus the other cats like to go in there for sleep overs or girls night out!!! LOL  Anyway, back to that room and the point I was going to make.  I would go in that room and before I left I had to do one thing (just one) to improve the room and me leaving the room didn't count!! LOL  Even if it was just to pick up one slip of paper and deal with it.  After a while there was just this little box of a few things left and I just took it and dealt with it and now the room is neat and tidy.  Well, not today.  I've got some beading stuff on the bed but it's not going to be out away until all of the Christmas stuff is back in that closet.  I don't want to move things twice!!  SO now I need to give that a serious try in my workroom.  I have cubes and shelves and i do promise that once I get it organized and tidied up I will take pictures for you.  Maybe not any "before" ones because I'm too embarrassed at the condition of the room.  I don't know who made the mess in here (but let's just say it was Katie - testing to see if she reads this!!! LOL  My sister is coming over on Friday to help me with a little corner of the room.  Something to get me motivated, I hope.

I just commented to another blogger, that I was thinking about taking every thing out of my hubby's monster of a gun safe that is in my hobby room. When I remove all of his non essential items, I will have lots of room for my important "stuff" I could always spray paint it white. And in case of a fire, I don't have to worry about my things getting damaged. *wink*

Blog Candy!

For the handful of you who read the entire post on Monday the time has come to draw a name for this wonderful "Vintage Vogue" set. As you can see if you go back and look at the Blog Candy post I did on Monday, the only ones who entered were those who actually did read through the whole post to know the Blog Candy was there!!!

I counted the number of comments and I had hubby go online to the Random Number Generator and hit the button to see who gets the blog candy. He took a screen shot of the # and emailed it to me. SO a BIG congratulations to winner #9!

I'm sure picking a favorite song for you was as difficult as me picking a favorite movie. I have a room full of movies. When I quit smoking over 9 years ago I started spending the money on movies. I have TONS of movies and I watch them over and over. By the time you get through one shelf of them I could actually start over and watch them all again. It takes me a while to get through them. I don't watch movies every day/night. And there are some I will actually watch a couple of times in a row because I just LOVE the movie or I just don't get it and I think watching it again will help me. I even have a couple I still don't understand and I will watch them again too with hopes of "getting" it!!! LOL

I loved all the answers. From a serious math one (I'll ask my son to figure out that one LOL) to the reminder that the moon is made of cheese! Reading the answers to my silly questions is more fun than giving out the blog candy!!

In the "A Goofy Movie" Max did answer his dad "3-1/2 cups." It was such a funny and silly question. And it was a fun blog candy post.

As creative as I can be packing a box I just couldn't get it to work. SO tomorrow I will be heading to the post office on my way to other fun errands and then pack it all in the new box and head back over to the post office on Tuesday or Wednesday. It depends on the weather. It's SO cold here today and the rest of the week doesn't look like it's going to warm up much. I LOVE winter but not this frigid cold. It's +3 out there right now. I'm in my workroom typing this with a space heater on. It gets VERY cold in my workroom when it's that cold outside. And this year the house is making a lot of noise. You think it would have been done settling by now. At times it sounds like someone throwing snowballs at the windows. I actually looked out to see if someone had. Hubby informed me it was the cold air. The sun heats that part of the house up and then when it cools it makes a LOT of noise. And late at night it's kind of scary. But as long as the security lights didn't come on then I ignore it.

Isn't it just amazing how a song can get stuck in your head? Quite a few of the songs that were posted here got stuck in my head after reading the comments!!! LOL But it was a nice diversion from the one that was playing at the time!!! SO far today there is no "song of the day" playing and lets try to keep it that way!!!

What Does This Card Say to You WINNER!!!

I did forget to draw a name for the winner of the card on the "What Does This Card Say to You" post! A drawing was held for those who posted a comment to that post telling me what that card said to them. To me it looked more like a sympathy card. Though it can be used for a lot of occasions.

Blog Candy Winner!

I bet you thought I forgot to announce the Blog Candy winner!!! Well, I did remember it once today but I didn't get on my computer. I'm SO frustrated with this computer. It's a Compaq laptop. I get no warning noise when the battery runs low, not even a flash of the screen. The screen goes black. Then you plug it in. Now you'd think the screen would come back and you could resume on AC. Nope. You have to reboot the whole system to get it back. Oh but that's not the worst of it. When it finally comes back on it's in Classic Mode. Classic Mode is the screen with the HUGE icons. And because it's so huge some of my other icons are now buried below the screen line so you can't see them. I have to go into Control Panel and click on the screen resolution so I can move it back to the highest resolution. Now here is where there should be something to click on to make this default. GRRRR. It's SO frustrating. I don't know if this is part of the ongoing list of VISTA issues or not. I don't like going on the computer when I have to use this one. And the design in it has a bit of a flaw too. The mouse (which is centered below the keyboard is almost flush with the part where your palms rest on so your the palm part of your thumb will brush against it and the next thing you know your cursor is somewhere else on your screen. Anyway, I'm online, I've got the computer running and charging and I used the random number generator and got a winner of the stamp set plus other "stuff" I've gathered along the way!!!

Blog Candy Winner!

I almost forgot to draw the name for the Blog Candy!!! That wouldn't be a good thing.

There were a lot of you who do prefer spring over summer. I'm SO with you. And one of you mentioned that it was snowing where you live in Canada. I would LOVE to be there. I'm such a snow freak, especially if it is snowman snow!!! I REALLY love the snow. I don't mind shoveling it. Driving in it is not fun but I do it. It's the ice on the roads that I don't like. But anyway, back to the spring, which is almost over!! I love it that there are very few bugs and I love the cool breezes and the smells in the air of blooming flowers and trees. This weekend we will be opening up the air conditioner and power spraying the inside of it to get it ready for summer. Not a fun job but a necessary one!!
