Elf Kisses Kit Post

I get a lot of emails asking how to find the Elf Kits post, so I thought I would post it here.  It has been 4 years since I posted it and there's a lot of posts to go though to find it if you don't do searches or know how to find it, and here it is!!!

These make GREAT Teacher to Student gifts! They are also nice little items for stocking stuffers, something for the mail carrier, the cashier, bank teller, etc. These are available year round. 

Here's another gem I found on Pinterest.  One of a billion things I've found on there. But what is different about this pin is I actually made it!!!  Shocker.  I spend SO much time pinning things and so little time making the things I find. Well, I managed to find some time to make these.  They were very fun to make too.  I LOVE the punch art stuff.

The punches used here are as follows:  The bulb punch for the head, a petal punch was used for the hat.  Ovals were cut and trimmed for the brim, the bird wing was used for the ears and round circle punches for the eyes, nose and the tip of the hat.  

The elf was found here at the Paper Den.  The instructions were not included so I just winged it!  I think they turned out cute though I wish I would have had that top fold closer to the words.  But it's still cute and it does it's job!  

The original one had mixed Hershey Kisses in the bag but I was thinking green.  When I think of elves I think of them wearing green.  So then their kisses should be green too, right?  

The cute poem reads:

Elf Kisses Gift Box

 Sorry I didn't post yesterday.  I try to post every day but I had a busy day at work, plus I was working out the box for these Elf Kisses.  I wanted to make a new twist on the "Elf Kisses".  I had made some a couple of years back and they were a hit.  You can see that post by clicking here.  I wanted to make them as more of a gift looking item so I created a box for them and then added the elf. I added the poem to the back and filled the box with mint kisses.  

The third photo here shows how the box is cut out.  I cut my Wild Wasabi card stock 6" x 8".  I scored the card stock on the short side at 1", 2" and 5". I turned the card stock and scored on the long side at 2-1/2", 3-1/2", 6", and 7".  Look at your score lines and the third photo and cut away the spaces that need cutting.  You will soon see the flaps and you will need to snip them so they fold in.  

Once you have the box cut and folded, add a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of window sheet to it.  I glued my piece in.  Glue your box together and you are now ready to decorate it as you wish.  I just used two Framelit squares to outline the window of the box.  I didn't go fancy on it because I didn't have a lot of time to work on it. 

For the elf I used a 2" circle.  The ears are the wings from the Bird Builder punch.  The eyes and nose came from the Owl Builder punch.  The brim of the hat is from the Large Oval punch.  The pompom on the hat is from the Owl Builder punch.  The hands are made using two 3/4" circles.  The had is cut from a piece of card stock.  I cut a 2" square and marked on one edge at the 1" spot.  Then I cut from that spot to the right corner at the opposite end and then I repeated that for the left side.  I did have to trim the bottom of the triangle because it showed under the hat brim.  

The card stock colors are Whisper White, Real Red, and Pirouette Pink. 

I used a marker to color in the eyes. I used the Chalkboard marker to make the freckles and highlight the eyes and top of the nose.  Before I assembled the face, I did sponge around the face, ears, and nose.  I glued all of the pieces together.  I just found it more durable than tape. 

When I was done I printed out the adorable poem and glued it to the back of the box.

I'm sure you can decorate the box much nicer than I did.  I didn't have as much time to spend on it as I would have liked to.  

These are very fun to make and also to give as a little gift for someone special.  Mine is already spoken for!

Elf Kisses Fry Box Version Weekend Project

I had to laugh when I was making this elf fry box.  In my post yesterday I said that I didn't put Frankie's bolts on because they stick out and would bend or get caught on stuff.  Well, here I am today gluing on ears that are sticking out.  But they are folded so they will bend back and not get too ruined.  And I also laughed when I was working on the ears. I got out the bird punch and was going to use the wings for ears.  Talk about teeny tiny ears!!!  I ended up punching a 1-1/4" circle for each ear and then winging it (no pun intended).  I just kind of followed the bird wing a bit and then traced what I did onto the other circle so they were similar.  I scored the edge about 1/4" into the ear so I could bend it and glue it in place.

I used Pink Pirouette card stock for the fry box.  I used a 1" circle punch for the eyes and the pompom on the hat.  The nose is punched from a 1-1/4" circle of Pink Pirouette.  I sponged the nose, ears and around the "face" of the fry box using Pink Pirouette ink.  Oh and I sponged the 2" circle that contains the elf kisses words.

Since I didn't have any Christmas candy (yet) I didn't fill the fry box.  I would wrap up the candy in plastic and tie it together with the circle of elf kisses wording.  The only thing I wish I would have done was to center the words instead of having them all on the left side of the circle.  I think it would have looked much nicer.  I can always change it, after all, there's no Christmas candy in the stores around my home!  I have time!

I think he's silly looking and when I look at his face I just smile!!!  It's elfish!!! LOL  Have fun making these!

Mini Elf Kisses

I had made Elf Kisses last year and I spent a little time using punches to make the elves.  I didn't have that kind of time this year so I cheated.  I found a printable one and went with it!!  You can find that here.  

I was able to print out 6 per sheet.  And as far as those mini kisses go.  Well, they are just chocolate chips wrapped up in foil.  Don't use regular foil though, it's too thick to work with. Use the foil that you get in the candy section at Michael's or JoAnn's.  It even looks nicer too.

I just thought little kisses would be cute for a change.  I didn't have to make a lot of these and personally I don't think it would be fun making a lot of them.  I made enough for 6 bags and that was it.  By the time I was done with them I was sick of looking at them!!! LOL  But once I got them bagged and the topper on I was happy again and actually glad I did make them!  They make very fun gifts for the kiddies!

And you can see the elf kisses I made last year.  You could combine the two if you want.  Make your elves by hand and add the tiny kisses!!!  Be creative!! Click here to view the last years elf kisses.
