Happiest of Birthdays, Expressions in Ink, Belated Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Now I know I made a birthday card for a friend of mine but where it is, I am not sure. Though I have a clue and if it is there then I'm really bad about paying attention to the notes on the calendar! And if it's not, I am really bad about paying attention to the notes on the calendar! LOL

Today's card is a very quick and easy card to make. I took a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock for the base of my card. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

Then I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package and set it in my Stamparatus.  The words are from the "Happiest of Birthdays" set and were stamped on the DSP using black Memento ink. I had to stamp twice because my ink pad is not inked properly. It's got dryer spots and very wet spots.  I'm not sure how to fix that.  With the foam pads you just take a plastic spoon and smooth out the ink. But with the fabric ones I'm not sure what to do. I have used my black Memento cube and sort of sopped up the excess ink but it didn't do a good job sopping.  So I try to stamp and change the orientation of the ink pad to try to get an even inking. Oh and DO NOT press too hard or you get darker (way too much ink) on one side and light to normal on the other. And then when you try to darken the light you get it too dark. It's a nightmare!!! LOL So I just try to tap lightly and stamp and then I will add more ink and stamp again. This is why I LOVE the Stamparatus. So, after getting the words dark enough, I added Dimensionals to the back. I set the piece in place on top of the Basic White card base.

I took three of the small gold "Metallic Pearls" and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I can see myself making more of them. I love the large words too and I was glad that the DSP had an open area that was perfect for the words.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this quick and easy card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned Petals, Pansy Patch, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

This card caught my eye on Pinterest. It was the panels that caught my eye. I found this card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Succulent card stock. I think the original card used Garden Green but I didn't pay close enough attention and ended up grabbing the Soft Succulent.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece from the Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I taped it to the front of the card.

I found the colors of the DSP that were in the photo of the original card and die cut them using the second smallest Stitched Rectangle die. I cut three different flower images from the DSP package. I cut three 2-7/8" x 1-7/16" piece of the Soft Succulent card stock for the layers. The DSP was taped to the card stock and then taped to the front of the card.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and black Memento ink was used. They were then cut from the "Double Oval Punch".  I also cut the scalloped piece from the Soft Succulent card stock and the "Double Oval Punch".  I taped the ovals together. I stamped the flowers from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set using black Memento ink that was stamped off once. It gave the words a bit of texture.

I took a piece of vellum and die cut two leaf sets from the "Forever Fern" set and taped the top pieces of it to the back of the scalloped oval. I put Dimensionals on the back and set the oval in place on the front of the card.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside of the card.

The little silver pears from the "Metallic Pearls" pack were set in place and the card was done.

This was a quick and easy card to make. I LOVED it that three different DSP printed images were used to make this card. Usually it's only one image from the same sheet.

I really like the looks of this card and it can be used for a variety of occasions like Mother's Day, Get Well, Thinking of You and Thank You.

I thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this fun and versatile card,
Wanda

Pansy Patch, Happiest of Birthdays, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up Catalog

I found this card on Pinterest and just had to make it mostly because of the wording. You can see the original card here

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Blackberry Bliss. This is a color I don't use much because it's very dark and I don't find a lot of things to go with it. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Fresh Freesia card stock and textured it using the "Tasteful Texture" embossing folder. My piece of card stock was from a sample pack of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" pieces my demonstrator gave me.  I was glad I had them because my variety pack is on backorder. Hope it doesn't take 2 months like my strawberry punch did. The textured piece was taped to the front of the card base.

The words were stamped on a quarter piece of Basic White card stock using Blackberry Bliss ink and were die cut using the largest die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies. I set them in place using Dimensionals.

The flowers were die cut from a sheet of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" package. I also cut the leaves from another sheet of DSP from the same package.  How fun is that?  I taped the flowers in place and tucked the leaves in. Then I had to add some Dimensionals under the parts that hung over the word piece.

I had some retired Blackberry Bliss ribbon and I tied a bow and used a glue dot to hold it in place.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. I LOVE word stamps that take up a lot of real estate on a card. All you need is a little accent and the card is done.  I'm going to use these words again on another card in a few days. I have some ideas rattling around in my head!!!  I do like how this card turned out and I can see myself making more in the future.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty birthday card,

Hand-Penned Petals, All Squared Away, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I still had my "Hand-Penned" set and the "Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper" (DSP) sitting out so, since I loved the colors I used on yesterday's card, I thought I'd try them again on today's card.

This was a very fun card. I had no idea where I was going with it until I was done stamping and cutting the flowers. The flowers are from the "Hand-Penned" set and were stamped on Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I colored them in using Both dark and light Blends pens Mint Macaron, Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo.  Then I die cut them out with the matching die. I also colored the flowers using the Wink of Stella pen. I thought they could use a little sparkle.

The base of the card stock is a folded half-sheet of Basic White. I cut it in half on the shorter 8-1/2" side. It measured 4-1/4" x 11" before I folded it in half on the long side. The card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Hand-Penned DSP" 12" x 12" package. I taped it in place on top of the front of the card.

The words are from the "All Squared Away" set and I was going to stamp them on a circle and taped them in place but I decided to take that circle die and cut a hole in the front of the card. The die is from the "Stitched Shapes" pack and I used the second largest one. You can save the circle for another project down the road. It will be fun to run across it and have an idea pop in your head!  Or you can put it in a pile with the rest of the stuff waiting for ideas. Like I do! LOL

The flower was set over the opening so I could see where the words were to go. I wanted to make sure the words showed through the opening but I also wanted to make sure the flowers would fit over it and also not over the side of the card.  I stamped the words using black Memento ink.

The flowers were set in place using Dimensionals.  I set the flowers over the opening and then I turned it over and traced around the circle area so I would be sure not to add Dimensionals over those lines or they'd stick to the inside of the card and make me unhappy!  Yup, done that before.

And the card was done. This was a very quick and easy card to make and it's a fun and different layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this fun layout,

Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Here's a perfect case of making due with what you have. I found this adorable card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here

While gathering all the materials, I noticed that I didn't have the circle piece. So I thought that it did look a bit familiar, it looked kind of like the die used in the retired "Swirly Bird" set.  Now I'm getting ready for a "garage sale" of my retired Stampin' Up! sets and I went out to the garage to look through the stacks of stamps to find the set.  See why I hate to give up my stamp sets?  I really need an addition to the house to keep them all. And we know that's not going to happen.  SO I will make a few cards using the "Swirly Bird" die and put it back in the garage!

I die cut the swirly image using Basic White card stock. but noticed that it didn't have a solid center. SO, I die cut the third "Stitched Circle" using Basic White card stock too.

The flower was stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  I colored the image in using both light and dark Blends pens. I used Mint Macaron for the leaves, Flirty Flamingo for the big flower and Daffodil Delight for the small flower. The highlight on the little flower was colored in using the light Pumpkin Pie Blends pen. And the center of that flower was colored in using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen. I die cut the image, added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

The words are from the same "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using Crushed Curry ink. I didn't have the die cut used on the original card so I found something that I thought would work. It's from the "Ornate Frames" dies. I die cut the words closer to the right side because the left was going to be tucked under the flowers.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. It measured 4-1/4" x 11" before it was folded in half.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut for the layer, and a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hand-Penned DSP".  I taped the DSP to the piece of Basic White.

The swirly circle was glued in place and then the stitched circle was taped to the top of that.

I set the flower over the circle to see where the words should go. I taped the words in place and then I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and set the flower on top of the circle and words.

Dimenisonals were added to the back of the layers and set in place on the card base and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, plus it's bright and cheery. I would like to make another one as a get well card. And it would be pretty as a birthday card too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this cheery card,

All Squared Away, Blossoms in Bloom, Thinking of You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I am starting to ask myself why I bought this "All Squared Away" set. I don't know what I had in mind for it when I ordered it.  So now I'm struggling to find ways to use it. There are not a lot of samples on the internet so there's very little inspiration. Here's what I did with it today.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5-1/4" x 2" piece of Old Olive. I used a 5-1/8" x 1-7/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "You're a Peach" 12" x 12" package. I didn't buy the stamp set (or bundle) that the DSP goes with. I just liked the designs in the paper and thought I could have some fun with it. I taped the DSP to the Old Olive strip and then I taped the strip to the left side of the card.

I die cut one of the squares from the "All Squared Away" set using Basic White and I die cut another using Old Olive. I cut away the leaves off the Basic White piece and then I glued it to the Old Olive piece.

The little flowers were die cut from the larger peaches on one of the sheets of the "You're a Peach" DSP. I thought it would match the DSP strip better than any card stock would.  Plus it gives the little flowers a bit of dimension. I glued the 6 flowers in place.

The blue DSP is from the same package and I cut that piece 2-1/8" x 2-1/8". I also cut a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut just a hair smaller and I taped the two pieces together.  Then I glued the flower square piece to the front of the blue DSP. I added Dimensionals to the back but didn't set it in place on the card. The words needed to be stamped.

They are from the "Blooms in Bloom" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

Now the flower piece was set in place and the card was done.  Though looking at it now, I think the center of the flowers could use some rhinestones or tiny pearls, it needs something.

This was a fun card to make and I hope I get inspired to make more using this set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this square flowered card,

Hand-Penned Petals, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had run across a piece of Petal Pink card stock that was textured using the "Tasteful Textures" embossing folder.  And I found on Pinterest a card with a fun layout. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I cut 1" off the front. I cut that textured piece of Petal Pink card stock at 3" x 5-1/4".  I cut mine at 2-7/8" which was 1/8" too short. I don't know what I was thinking but I used it anyway!

I also cut a 1-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Subtles 6" x 6" stack.  I LOVE having these stacks. You get a lot of DSP for your cards in several fun designs.  Though I do with that Stampin' Up! would always keep polka dots in their stacks.  But I do have to say that these designs are SO much better than the ones from last year. I found them very hard to work with and the one I used the most was the circles one, which was as close to polka dots as I could get. I taped the strip to the inside right of the card. Now when the card is closed you see both the card stock and the DSP.

I die cut the largest "Stitched" circle using Basic White card stock.

The flower was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I colored the flowers using my Blends pens. I used both light and dark Petal Pink for the flowers and both light and dark Mint Macaron for the leaves and stems. I also used a little light Pumpkin Pie for some highlights on the flowers.  I had used the dark Mango Melody for the center of the right flower but the color just blended in and got lost.  I die cut the flowers and then set them on top of the circle to see where the words should go.

I set the circle up in my Stamparatus and covered the word "friend" that is under the "feel better" and I inked up the words, removed the tape I covered "friend" with and stamped the words.

I set the circle in place using Dimensionals over 2/3's of the circle. Be careful not to get any over that cut off edge or it will stick to the inside of your card and your card won't open.  And no, I didn't make that mistake (this time! LOL).

The flower was set in place on the circle using Dimensionals.  Again, make sure they don't hang over the top petals or it could cause some unwanted problems. I did do that. But I caught it before it stuck to the textured paper and made the flower bend funny.

I added some crystal rhinestones. One particularly in the center of the flower to hide that Mango Melody mess. And I scattered a few around the front of the card. The original card has a ribbon bow on the stem of the flower. It's pretty but I didn't have that ribbon and I thought the rhinestones would carry the embellishments.   But I did add some Wink of Stalla on the flowers were the highlights are. It was a nice soft subtle touch. And of course it doesn't show up in the photo but it's there. And the card was done.

I do like how it turned out but if I were to make another one, I think I would use two different designs of the DSP instead of texturing the card stock. I am not a big fan of that texture, I liked the Subtle one that just retired. Some embossing folders should never retire. Like the Subtle one and the polka dot one and there was a fun striped one too. I still have mine and sometimes use them on other cards.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet get well card,

Expressions in Ink, Artistically Inked, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

There are times when I find some Designer Series Paper (DSP) that I think is SO fabulous that I just have to have it.  The "Expressions in Ink" is one of them. The colors in this package are amazing. They are fun and easy to work with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I don't have any of the new colors yet, I ordered a variety pack and it should be here on Wednesday.  So in the meantime I used a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock. The new Evening Evergreen would be a good choice but I made the Shaded Spruce work!

I cut a 3-5/8" x 4-7/8" piece of the "Expressions in Ink" DSP. I taped the DSP to the Shaded Spruce card stock and then I taped both of them to the front of the card.

The "Artistically Inked" bundle has some fun dies. I loved this leaf die. I cut it using a piece of Basic White card stock that I had added a sticky sheet to it so it would be a sticker because I couldn't imaging trying to get this piece taped or glued to the front of the card.   And once again I found that my sticky sheet wasn't as stick as I thought it was, so I used my heat tool and warmed it up a bit and then it stuck SO much better.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using Versa Mark. I sprinkled it with gold embossing powder and heat it up. Then I die cut it with the rectangle die from the "Rectangle Stitched "die set.

The words were set over the area I thought they would look the best.  Then I set a glue dot in that area do I could put down some loops of gold cord. I added three on the top and one on the bottom. The top ones were about 4" long pieces before they were "looped". And the bottom one was about 3" before it was "looped".

Once the loops were in place, I added Dimensionals to the word piece and set it in place over the glue dot area and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love it when the DSP carries the card and leaves little stamping or die cutting.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and have a look at today's card,

Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

A week or so ago I made a card using the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and I said I wanted to give it a try using Blends pens instead of the flowers and leaves stamping images. So, here it is.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) was cut from a 12" x 12" sheet from the "Hand-Penned" DSP.  I taped it in place.

Then I die cut the largest scalloped edge die from the "Stitched So Sweetly" package using Basic White card stock. It will later be centered on the front of the card and taped it in place.

The flower image was stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. It was then die cut using the matching dies. Though if you didn't own the dies this wouldn't be bad to fussy cut.

I used my Blends pens to color it in. For the leaves I used both the light and dark Mint Macaron. The tiny flowers were colored using both light and dark Highland Heather. and the larger flowers were colored in using both light and dark Daffodil Delight. The centers of the flowers were colored in using the light Pumpkin Pie pen. I just scribbled with the Blends. I didn't want to follow the lines and color because some of the flowers didn't have solid lines all around them.  I found using the Blends to color in the flowers and leaves a whole lot quicker than using the stamp images. And I didn't have any cleaning up to do after!

I set the scalloped piece in my Stamparatus and used the "Thanks" from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and Gorgeous Grape ink.  I did set the flower image on top to see where the words should go.  After stamping the words I taped the piece in place. I am not a big fan of the word "thanks". It is okay but it's not as nice sounding as a good "thank you" is.  It just doesn't seem quite as grateful to me.

Then the flower image was set in place. A few rhinestones were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

I REALLY like how this card turned out and I like how quick it was to cut and color too. I can see myself making more like this.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty card today,

Artistically Inked, Wedding Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Grabbing another new set from my pile of stamps, I thought I would play with the "Artistically Inked" set.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I took a piece of Highland Heather and the lacy rectangle die from the "Ornate Layers" dies. I glued the piece in place on the front of the card base.

Then I die cut the beautiful flower image from the "Artistically Inked" bundle. I used double sided sticky paper to affix the card stock to before I die cut it. I didn't want to mess with trying to glue that piece on. In spots id didn't want to stick so I used my heat tool and heated up the die cut piece and pressed down on it and it stuck much better.

The words are from the "Artistically Inked" set and were stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on a piece of the sticky paper that was left over. It was a corner piece that was just large enough to use. I used the "Double Oval" punch to punch it out. I also punched out the Gorgeous Grape layer to put behind the words. The Double Oval punch has a smooth smaller oval and a scallopy oval label.  I added Dimensionals to the back of it and set it aside.

I took piece of gold cord/thread and made a loop. I added a glue dot to both sides where the threads crossed. I removed the backing and stuck the loop onto the front of the card. Then the word piece was set in place.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very easy and fun card to make. It's a perfect wedding or anniversary card. Lacy and flowery!  I had found this layout on Pinterest but I had shut down my computer before saving the link. The original card used a open scalloped rectangle. I don't know where that die came from and I knew I didn't have it so I used what I had and it worked out just fine.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this pretty wedding card today,
Wanda

Pansy Patch, Forever Fern, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

There were a couple of things I wanted to do on a card today. I wanted to make a card that didn't require any layering and I wanted to use some Designer Series Paper (DSP) instead of stamping. Here is what I ended up with.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding in half. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I die cut three flowers from the "Pansy Petals" 12" x 12" DSP package. I taped them together on the back with scotch tape and then used some snail tape to hold them together on the front.

The leaves were die cut using some Pear Pizzazz card stock. I was going to use Granny Apple Green but I didn't have any in my scrap bin so I grabbed the closest green. I didn't want to cut a new piece of card stock just for a couple of leaves. The dies in the "Pansy Patch" bundle have textured dies, they texture and cut at the same time.  How fun is that?  This bundle has a lot of fun dies, stamps and words.  And I didn't stop there, I bought the matching "Pansy Petals" DSP.  One of the designs in the package has pansies that fit the dies. So I had cut two large flowers and one small.  Anyway, back to the leaves, I die cut two of them.  No stamping involved there at all!  After the leaves were set in place, I added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece aside.

I die cut some Basic White leaves from the "Forever Fern" dies.  I had set my pieces on the front of the card and thought it looked so blah. So I took a blending brush and colored in the front of the card using Mango Melody. I made sure I left the upper part open for the wording.

The words are from the "Pansy Patch" set and were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink.

I added tiny dots of liquid glue to the leaves and I set them in place on the front of the card.

Then I set the flower piece in place. I thought the flowers could use something so I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored in the center areas of each flower, not the direct center but the next "layer" out.

The card still needed something, so I found some retired purple "Candy Dots" and added them to the card and I liked what I saw and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. It was easy enough, there wasn't a lot of coloring because the DSP flowers were already colored.  I had trouble deciding if the brushed background should be a yellowish color or a light blue. I think either would be pretty.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this pretty birthday card,
Wanda

Pansy Patch, Hand-Penned Petals, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I'm sure you won't be surprised to read that I did not put away my "Pansy Patch" stamp set!  It was still sitting out so I thought I'd play with it again because yesterday it was fun and quick.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.  It's the same cut as yesterday. It's the other half of yesterday's card stock that I cut for that card. Yup, I left that sitting out too!  This card was cut at 4-1/4" on the 8-1/2" side and it measures 11" long and is folded at 5-1/2".

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.  I glued it to the front of the card, leaving a border equally all around.

Then I stamped the pansy from the "Pansy Patch" set using Balmy Blue ink. The beard of the flower was stamped using Night of Navy ink and the center was stamped using Mango Melody ink. I used a mask and then the leaves were stamped with Granny Apple Green for the solid part and Old Olive for the detailed image.

On yesterday's card I colored some highlights on the flower using a watercolor pencil. Today I didn't do that. my ink was a bit too dark so I left it as it was.

I die cut the flower image using the label looking one from the "Stitched So Sweetly" die set. I made sure I left room for the words.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. I masked off the word "Friend" under the "Feel Better" because I didn't want the word "friend" on it and there wasn't any room for it anyway.

Then I die cut a scalloped rectangle piece from the same die set and taped the floral piece to it.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the rectangle piece. Before removing the backing on the Dimensionals I set it on top of the card to see where the Baker's Twine should go.

The Baker's Twine was colored using my dark Balmy Blue Blends pen. I should have used the light one because the twine looks a bit too dark. To color it I just set the pen on top of the twine and pulled the twine. I repeated this twice to get full coverage.  Then a glue dot was place under the area where the rectangle piece is going to go and the twine was looped in place, sticking it to the glue dot as I looped it.

The rectangle piece was set in place and the card was done.

This was another very quick and pretty card to make. I am SO loving that font.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet get well card,
Wanda

Pansy Patch, Hand-Penned Petals, Get Well Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I think I found a new favorite stamp set. While looking on the net, I found how to use some of the other dies in the bundle. There are some fun texture ones. So sometime in the next few days I'm going to see what I can come up with (that looks good)!!! LOL I had to add that part because I've made some pretty ugly stuff that I just couldn't tape to the cards!  SO here's what I came up with today.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White. I cut my paper in half on the 8-1/2" side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before I folded it in half. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued that piece to the front of the card.

I took a piece of Basic White card stock and I stamped one flower using Balmy Blue ink. Then for the beard of the flower I stamped Night of Navy and the center was stamped using Mango Melody ink. I had watched a video (that I can't find now) and in it was how the demonstrator had taken her Balmy Blue watercolor pencil and colored in some highlighted areas on the flower. I didn't have that set of watercolor pencils but I did have a blue one, I think it was Pacific Point, not sure because it's not written on the pencil.

I had made a mat and covered the first flower so I could stamp the second one. I stamped it the same way as the first, including the watercolor pencil.

I made sure the mask was on the flowers before I stamped the leaves. The leaves were stamped using Granny Apple Green ink and the veins of the leaf were stamped using Old Olive ink.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. I did mask off the word friend. I just wanted it to say "feel better".  The "Pansy Patch" set has some fun words with nice fonts but no get well, so that is why I went with "Hand-Penned Petals".  Plus I like the font!

I die cut the image using the largest rectangle die in the "Stitched so Sweetly" die cut set. I cut a 3-1/8" x 4-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue card stock for the layer behind the flower piece. I added Dimensionals to the back of the layers and set it in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make, plus it's pretty too!  I need to do a little research on the colors of pansies.  I don't know my flowers well!  I am excited to use this set again.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this sweet get well card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned Petals, Peaceful Moments, Thinking of You Card

I LOVE the Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Hand-Penned Designs" that goes with the "Hand-Penned Petals" stamp set.  I often wish that Stampin' Up! would make new papers to go with the stamp sets they carry over from the previous year or from their mini catalogs.  Here's something you've heard from me before (and probably say yourself too), I'm going to use all the papers in this pack! There's not a single image in the package that I don't like so I don't see any reason why I won't use them all.  But yet by the end of the catalog I still have a half a package left.  I'm really going to challenge myself to use this package up.  Now it's not going to be used up very quickly if I only use 2" at a time!! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  I glued it to the front of the card. I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

I cut a 2" x 4-3/4" piece of the "Hand-Penned Designs" DSP and taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.  I glued the strip to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top, left side and bottom of the textured card stock.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Misty Moonlight ink.  I die cut it using the second smallest stitched oval die.  I used the blending brush and colored the edges of the oval. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I took a glue dot and put it in the center of the area where the words are going to be set. I took some Baker's Twine and made some loops, sticking it to the glue dot as I made each loop.  Then I removed the backing on the oval and set it in place on the front of the card.

I took three of the new "Genial Gems" and placed them on the front of the card. These little gems are so pretty, they have glitter inside each one.

This was a fun and easy card to make.  I need to do a little shopping and find some more word sets. I only have a few and I could use more.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet thinking of you card,
Wanda

Hand-Penned Petals, Thank You Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found this pretty card on Pinterest.  It was fun to make but the next time I use it, I may just try coloring it in with Blends or markers instead. You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card and I set it aside to set up/dry.

I took a 1/4 sheet of Basic White card stock and I die cut the scalloped rectangle from the "Stitched So Sweetly" die pack.

The flower was stamped next using the larger image from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set on Basic White card stock and black Memento ink.

The flower in the center was stamped with the new Pale Papaya ink. The medium flowers were stamped using the new Polished Pink ink and the smaller flowers were stamped using the new Fresh Freesia ink. And the leaves were stamped using the new Soft Succulent ink.  I couldn't afford to buy all the new ink pads so I bought a pack of empty cubes and the ink refills and inked those cubes and I was good to go.

I die cut the three different leaves from the bundle using Soft Succulent card stock.

The words are from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flower piece and before I pressed it in place, I slipped the leaves under, making sure they got under a Dimensional enough to stick.

Dimensionals were also added to the back of the rectangle piece and it was centered on the front of the card.

A "Genial Gems" was added to the front of the card next to the "T" and the card was finished.

I thought it was a very pretty card and like I said at the beginning, I think I will give coloring in the flowers with Blends or markers a try and see what I get. I do love these colors.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this pretty thank you card,

All Squared Away, Blossoms in Bloom, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up Catalog

I had purchased the "All Squared Away" bundle and when I went to look on Pinterest for some ideas, I didn't see any.  I thought about the images and I was going to look in the catalog to see if there were some samples in there that might inspire me but I didn't. There had to me some reason why I wanted this set. There must have been a card (could even be one single card that will prompt me to buy the entire bundle!!!).  As I was looking at the dies I thought the flower one would be fun to play with, so here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the layer on top.

I took a crap piece of Basic White card stock and I brushed on some Pool Party and then some Balmy Blue.  I made sure the brushed area was larger than the die cut piece.  So I measured it and it was 1-7/8" x 1-7/8". After coloring I cut the piece just a hair less than 1-7/8" x 1-7/8".  I didn't want any color to hang over the edges. Not like you can't trim them but I didn't want to do any trimming because I'm lazy!! LOL

I die cut the flower image using a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I glued it to the colored area.  Then I added Dimensionals to the back.  I set the image on top of the 4" x 5-1/4" piece to see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped using Pool Party ink.  Once the words were stamped I added the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock to the card base using Dimensionals.  Then the flower image was added using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. Not to mention fun too!  There's three other images plus the stamp set has background images. I'll have to play with them next!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see this super quick card,

Butterfly Brilliance, Peaceful Moments, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog

I am not crazy or forgetful.  I swore up and down that I wrote up that post and set it up in my blog but it was gone.  They mystery was solved. I got an email this morning stating that my blog post that I had to redo yesterday was removed because it violated blogger guidelines.  How odd is that? I post a card every day and one card. It's just card, nothing fancy. I got another email that read my post was reviewed and reinstated and I can access it now.  It's too late now, I rewrote the whole thing and posted it yesterday.  That's so odd.  Anyway, I will end up deleting the one they reinstated because I don't need to post it twice. UGH!!!  So let's see what happens with today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

Today's card is much like yesterday's card. I stamped the butterflies from the Butterfly Brilliance" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  These butterflies come on one large rubber stamp. It also comes a matching die that die cuts them all out at the same time too!  You can have a bunch of butterflies in no time.  So because it filled a whole big area, I was able to cut it in half and make two card!  The fun thing here is, if you color the butterflies in different colors you can use different colored card stock for the layers so they are the same but yet different.  My second card I used Mint Macaron for my layer. I liked this card better so this is the one I am posting.

So, after stamping the butterflies, I colored them in using both light and dark Blends pens. I used Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue, and Flirty Flaming. I used Flirty Flamingo twice, once on an upper butterfly and once on a lower one.

Once cut my stamped image piece measured 2-1/4" x 4-3/4" and I taped the two layers together.

I textured a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Then I glued the butterfly panel on top of the embossed piece.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set using black Memento ink. I die cut them using the 1-5/8" circle die. And I also die cut a Daffodil Delight scalloped circle die just a bit larger than the word piece. I taped the two circles together and then set them in place on the card.

I had found some retired Daffodil Delight ribbon and set it in place on the circle using a glue dot.

This was a very fun and quick card to make and I love it that I can stamp once and end up with two cards.  How great is that?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this fun butterfly card,
Wanda

Blossoms in Bloom, Peaceful Moments, Birthday Card

Did you ever create a post with links and all and then it didn't show up on your blog?  I don't know what happened to my post but it's gone. I know there wasn't any surprise update by Windows because there was just one 2 days ago.  I have no idea what happened. Had I forgotten to post it, it would have been saved in draft and would be ready for me to go, oh no, I forgot to set it to post.  UGH.  SO I now have to redo my post and quickly too!

I wanted to use the "Blooms in Bloom" set because it's one I have not used much and I REALLY wanted to make this card.  I changed it a bit because I didn't like the special fold on the original. You can see the original here from Pinterest. If you click through you will find a video on how to make the fun fold card. The original card has the flowered piece centered on a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Night of Navy card stock with a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White on top.  Then you cut a 11" x 2-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock that is folded in half at 5-1/2".  This is the piece that you open up to write on. I don't care for those types of folds so I just made it into a regular card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the front.

Then I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock, one for the inside and one to stamp on.

I set the larger five flowered image in my Stamparatus and inked it up with Balmy Blue ink. The original card used Seaside Spray but it's now retired. Leave your stamp in the Stamparatus and with a sponge dauber, add ink to the center areas of each flower and stamp over the the first images.

The video showed how you add two flowers to the top and bottom on the right and two leaves on the top and bottom on the left. It's set up that way so you can ink up the flowers and the leaves without getting flower ink on the leaves or leaf ink on the flowers.  For the flowers I used Mango Melody and Granny Apple Green for the leaves. Once you get them stamped then you clean them up and move them to the opposite sides of the piece, ink up and stamp again.

There's two different flower centers. The dotted one was used on the larger flowers using Night of Navy ink and the small Mango Melody ones were stamped using the smaller roundish image.

Once the stamping was done, cut the piece in half on the 4" edge. This will give you two cards!! How fun is that?

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Night of Navy card stock and I taped the stamped image to it and then I taped that strip to the front of the card. I moved it over to the left a little because I didn't like the look of it centered.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock.  I die cut them with the 1-7/8" circle die and I die cut a scalloped circle a little larger using Night of Navy card stock. I taped the two circles together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

I had some retired ribbon so I made a knot and used a glue dot to hold it in place.

Then I colored some enamel dots using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and set them in place on the card.

The other Basic White piece was taped inside the card and the card was done.  And I just repeated it all (except for the flower stamping) for the second card.  How fun is that?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this fun and pretty card,

Art Gallery, Fine Art Floral, Ornate Thanks, Thank You Card

I really love word sets that have the larger words. They seem to take up a lot of real estate on a card.  Like yesterday's card, the words on there took up a big part of the card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock and I taped it to the card base.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package was taped to the Coastal Cabana.

The words are from the "Ornate Thanks" set and were stamped using Coastal Cabana ink on Basic White card stock. I cut the words so they fit at an angle. I'm not good with angles so I found this part a little difficult.  I ended up setting the piece on the front of the card and marking the angle with a pencil and then cutting it.  My strip measured 1" wide. You can angle it as much or as little as you want. I just let it do it's own thing and when it looked like it was angled I marked it and cut it.  I also cut a layer 1/8" larger around it using Coastal Cabana card stock.

The flower image is from the "Art Gallery" set and was stamped using Coastal Cabana ink and the detail image was stamped using Bermuda Bay ink. I die cut the flower. I also stamped the center detailed image using Bermuda Bay ink and then added some Tombow Multi glue and allowed the glue to dry.  While it was drying, I stamped the leaves using Old Olive ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut the leaves and then fussy cut the bottoms from the stems.

Gold foil was stuck to the glue and I  used my stipple brush to remove any excess.  You can use a tooth brush or a stamping sponge too (I read that about the sponge but I've never tried it). You can also use Versa Mark to stamp the image and the Heat & Stick powder for the gold foil. I would think that the Versa Mark and Heat & Stick powder would give you more details than the glue would. I think I have some Heat & Stick powder and I'll have to try it sometime to see what I end up with.

Dimensionals were added to the word piece and the flower.  I set the words in place but didn't press down. I made sure I didn't add any Dimensionals to the one petal of the flower so it could hang over the word piece.  I didn't press the flower in place yet either.  The leaves were taped in place and then the other two pieces were pressed in place.  And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I do need to practice on angled words! Maybe cutting the piece first and then stamping the words!!!  Food for thought!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to have a look at today's pretty and easy to make card,
Wanda

Art Gallery, Congratulations, Anniversary, Wedding Card

I found this card on Pinterest and I thought this card was SO pretty that I had to make one.  OMG, what a lot of work this card was.  Surprised work that is.  You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was textured using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. The piece was glued to the front of the card.

Then a 1" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fine Art Floral" 12' x 12" pack was cut and glued to the left side of the card on top of the textured piece.

The Basic White word panel was cut at 3-1/8" x 4" and the words were die cut. Now when you die cut the words, save all the pieces. I didn't so I had to cut another one from some scrap just to get those little pieces.  I cut a 3" x 3" piece of Poppy Parade card stock and glued it to the back of the word piece. Don't worry if all the pieces don't lay down nice, you can glue them when you are done adding the little pieces.  If you can, leave the words in the card stock if they were stuck in there after cutting. If not, then put the words back in their places. This will make it easier to glue those little pieces in the exact place they need to be. Once the little pieces are all glued in, remove the words. Pretty isn't it?  Add Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Next I stamped the leaves, well, I stamped the whole flower piece using Mossy Meadow ink and I die cut it out.  Then I cleaned it off and stamped another one using Petal Pink ink and sponged on some Poppy Parade and then it was die cut.  I fussy cut each flower and glued it on top of the Mossy Meadow flowers.  Cutting the little buds was not fun but it was necessary because they are so darn cute and add a lot to the bunch.  When you cut the flowers out, make sure you cut away the stem area or the stems will be Mossy Meadow and then turn pink.  You'll see when you cut them out and set them on top of the Mossy Meadow ones (before you glue them down).  I added Dimensionals to the flowers where I could see they were touching the word panel.  I also added Dimensionals where I could see they would be touching the DSP.  And the part of the leaf that is touching the word panel was glued in place because a Dimensional looked funny there for some reason.

I had some Mossy Meadow Baker's Twine left over from a Paper Pumpkin kit, though you can color your own with ink refill, a marker or a Blends Pen, I tied a bow and used a dot of glue to set it in place.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Poppy Parade using Versa Mark and then sprinkled with white embossing powder and heated. There's a cute die in the bundle that the words fit into.  I cut it and then I added Dimensionals to the lower part of the word piece, I also added a little glue to the top piece when I set it in place.

So, to assemble I set the word panel in place 1/2" from the bottom of the card and 1/4" in on the right. The embossed piece shows just a little bit.  The flowers were added next and then the word piece.

I colored three crystal rhinestones using my dark Poppy Parade Blends pen and set those in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

Now reading how to make the card didn't sound as bad as what I went through to make it but you are aware of the little pieces and how important they are to keep an eye on!  And how to assemble the piece. I had step by step instructions on how to make it so that was what I did and it turned out. I hope yours turns out too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see this pretty card,
Wanda

Hey Chick, Birthday Card

Did you ever buy something and then regret it?  I bought the dies to the "Hey Chick" set and I do regret it. I find it difficult to work with.  I found a card on Pinterest that I thought I could work with.  I made a few changes. You can see the original card here

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Cajun Craze card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I found some Designer Series Paper (DSP) on my worktable. I do not know what package it came from but I thought I'd work it in.

I cut two pieces of 4" x 5-1/4"  piece of Basic White card stock and taped one on the outside and one on the inside.

I die cut the circle from the DSP using the 2-7/8" circle die. I made sure I moved it close to the edge of my piece of DSP. That piece of DSP had been cut 4" x 5-1/4".  I cut the strip on the left from what was left over from cutting the circle. That strip measures 5-1/4" x 7/8".  I taped the DSP strip to the left side of the Basic White piece.  I added tape behind the circle and slipped it under the strip a bit before I pressed both in place.

The fence was die cut from one of the dies in the "Chick Dies" set. I used a double sided stick sheet so I could make it into a sticker because I didn't want to have to mess with gluing it in place.

I stamped the chick from the "Hey Chick" set using black Memento ink and die cut it out.  Then I colored the chick using my Blends Pens. Light Daffodil Delight for the body and a bit of dark over it for highlights. The rest of the open areas were colored with the light Pumpkin Pie pen. Then I colored over the feathers with some light Cajun Craze and a little dark Cajun Craze in the darker areas.

I die cut the sign using Early Espresso card stock.

The words are from the "Hey Chick" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White using black Memento ink.  I trimmed it to fit the sign. It measured 1-1/8" x almost a half inch by the time I was done trimming.  I taped the words to the front of the sign. I added Dimensionals to the sign and the chicken.

I set the fence in place and then the chicken and then the sign.

Three crystal rhinestones were colored with the dark Cajun Craze Blends pen and they didn't get very dark but I used them anyway.

The card still needed something so I cut a 1/4" piece of Early Espresso card stock that was 5-1/4" long and I glued it along the edge of the DSP strip.   And I stopped!!!  LOL

I need to search for a cute card using the "Hey Chick" set, I want to try to make a few more cards before the end of the month when it retires.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this interesting creation,
Wanda

All Things Fabulous, Birthday Card, Friendship Card, Thinking of You Card

I'm not sure what genre this card falls into.  Is it a birthday card? A friendship card? A thinking of you card?  I guess it could be any or all of them.  I found this card on Pinterest and it was made using Misty Moonlight (I'm assuming there). I did try it in Misty Moonlight but all I had was the cube from a Paper Pumpkin kit and it didn't cover the flower very well. It left marks, so I switched colors and here's what I came up with.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. When the card stock was cut in half, it was cut on the shorter 8-1/2" side and then it was scored at 5-1/2" and folded.

So the first thing I did was I needed to stamp the flower on the left. I inked up the stamp and I stamped off onto a piece of copier paper because I needed to make a mask. Then I stamped on the front of my card. There is a center image for the flower and I stamped it using full ink. Oh, the color ink I used was Melon Mango.

Next I set the mask flower over the original flower. When I cut my masks I usually cut them 1/8"-1/16" smaller than the original flower. It seems to stamp closer to the image without leaving a gap.

Then I stamped the second flower the same way I did the first one, by stamping off for the larger part and full ink for the center image. I used the matching die and cut it out.

The words are from the same "All Things Fabulous" set and they were stamped using black Memento ink. And the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make. And versatile too!!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this quick and easy card,

Peaceful Moments, Fine Art Floral, Sympathy Card, Corner Fold Card Technique

While in the middle of making this card, the husband pops in my workroom and tells me he needs a sympathy card. I was more than in the middle of the card. I was ready to add the words (it was going to be a thank you card).  So I went to my stamp sets to find some sympathy words. You can see how to do this technique by clicking here and a previous card I made. This link also shows you how to cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the solid front of the card. Mine is just solid.  You can also see other samples using this fold by clicking here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Poppy Parade card stock. I did score it on the long side at 4-1/4".

To make the special fold you will need your cutting board. With the long side lines up at the 3" mark, move the cutter to 2-1/2" and cut down to the 4-7/8" mark.  Then turn the card stock clockwise so the short end is on top. Again, line the edge at 3". Move your blade to the 3" mark. It should like up with your previous cut. Then cut upward to the 5/8" mark.  I actually used a sharpie to mark my cutter a while back and the marks are still there. I must have been making several for a swap at the time.

To form the corner, move the bottom left corner inward and push it through flipping it over. Then take your bone folder and burnish the folds.  A glue dot will hold the bottom left corner down. Don't do it yet if you're going to add DSP over that area.  Use the link above for directions on how to cut that DSP to fit.

The corner cut area measures 3" x 3".  So I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" and the DSP from the "Fine Art Floral" 12" x 12" package at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2".  I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow piece and then I taped that to the corner flip.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

I forgot how fun this card was to make and even more, I forgot how quick it was.  Before I left my worktable I added two more glue dots to the fold. The one in the corner just wasn't cutting it for me. There was a gap on the left side and one on the bottom, so I added them to the center areas of those edges.  I liked the look much better.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see this quick and easy technique,
Wanda

All Things Fabulous, Art Gallery, Thinking of You Card

I found today's card on Pinterest. What really caught my eye was the color of the rose.  It happens to be the new Magenta Madness ink.  I don't have that color yet so I had to make do with what I had. I could have waited to make the card but I probably would have forgotten it by then.  You can see the original card here and see why it caught my eye. Magenta Madness is a very pretty pink!

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The first thing I did was I die cut that pretty lacy looking piece. I want to use it on some other cards, it's SO pretty. And I made sure I used a sticky sheet behind it so it would become a sticker because there was no way I was gluing that piece!!!  My sticky sheet must have been a bit old because it didn't want to stick very well.  So, I set in place and then I used my embossing heat tool and heated up the piece. I turned it over and pressed down on it and now it's really stuck!!

Then I stamped the flower from the same "All Things Fabulous" set on Basic White card stock using Flirty Flamingo ink. I stamped off once and then stamped the image. There's an inner image that I lined up and stamped with Flirty Flamingo ink.  I colored over the flower using Wink of Stella.  It was kind of plain looking without it.

The leaves were stamped and die cut next. I needed two for this card.

I wasn't fond of the words in the "All Things Fabulous" set so I found something I liked in the "Art Gallery" set and stamped them on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock with black Memento ink. The dies that go with that set have the cute postage stamp edge rectangle die. I die cut the words and I was ready to assemble.

The lacy piece was set in place first and then the leaves. But you need to put the flower over the center area to know where the leaves should go.  I glued the leaves in place.  Then I set the flower in place using Dimensionals.  The words were set in place with Dimenisonals on the right and a glue dot on the left.

The black area around the pretty colored area needed something so I added some retired "Perfect Accents".  You can use pearls or any other shiny thing!

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I don't make black cards very often but I found this one to be stunning.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and see this pretty card,

Handsomely Suited, Masculine Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I was looking for an easy card to make using the "Handsomely Suited" set. I wanted to find something that didn't require the Designer Series Paper (DSP) that was in the Spring Catalog because I was pretty sure it wouldn't be in the new 2021-2022 Catalog.  And I was thinking of making a Father's Day card. But I saw this card and had to make it. You can see the original card here.   I could easily turn this into a Father's Day card but when I started working on it, I wasn't thinking and ended up with a birthday card.  But I know if I need to, I can make another one and use Father's Day wording.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Gray card stock.  I die cut a circle from the center of it 2-11/16". I cut the DSP from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package at 3-7/8" x 2-3/4" on the striped piece and the same on the dotted piece.  Though the striped piece overlapped the dotted piece. I wanted to make sure there was no gap.

I wrapped a piece of black twine around the piece two times and taped the ends on the back.  Then I taped the piece to the front of the card.

I stamped the words from the "Handsomely Suited" set using Basic Gray ink. I die cut it using the second largest Stitched Circle die. I made sure the words were closer to the top so I had room for the bowtie.

The bowtie was stamped on a piece of Smoky Slate card stock using Basic Gray ink. The tie was then die cut.

I taped the two circles together and added Dimensionals to the back.

Then the tie was set on top of the circle using Dimensionals and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. This is also a fun set to play with. There's some fun suits to make using it too. A long tie and suspenders too.  I need to spend some more time playing with this set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this fun masculine card,

Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card is one of the three birthday cards I need soon.  This one needs to get out in the mail tomorrow! No stress here! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.  I glued the embossed piece to the front of the card.

Next I stamped the background leaves and flowers using Granny Apple Green ink on Basic White card stock. I die cut it using the largest "Stitched" circle die.  I colored the leaves using the light Granny Apple Green Blends pen and the center of the flowers were colored using the dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen.

Then I stamped four leaves. I stamped the leaf outline first using Granny Apple Green ink. The leaves were filled in using the solid stamp and Granny Apple Green ink that was stamped off once. I had re-inked my pad and it's stamping pretty dark right now. Could be too much ink!!! Maybe!!!  Probably!! LOL

I used the matching punch to punch out the leaves.   I did the same with the tops of the strawberries.

The outline of the strawberries were stamped using Poppy Parade ink. Then they were stamped using the solid image using Poppy Parade ink too.

The tops of the strawberries were glued in place and set aside.

The words are from the same "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Versa Mark ink. Then they were embossed using white embossing powder. I  used the "Double Oval" punch to punch out the words since the other oval dies are now retired. I'm trying to always use current products but sometimes I just have to improvise.

To assemble the card, the circle was set in place with Dimensionals. Then the leaves and strawberries were added. The middle strawberry was set in place using Dimensionals as well as the upper right strawberry.

The word piece was added last using Dimensionals. A few crystal rhinestones were placed on the front of the card and the card was done!

This was a fairly quick card to make and a super easy one!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this sweet birthday card,

Butterfly Brilliance, Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card

This month I'm in need of several birthday cards and a Mother's Day card too.  So today I made the birthday card even though the next card I need is the Mother's Day card!!! LOL I must like to work under pressure!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I cut a 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I cut a 2-3/8" x 2-3/8" piece of Coastal Cabana card stock for the layer and a 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" piece of Basic Black card stock for the back layer. I taped the layers together, added Dimensionals to the back.

I set the square on top of my card to see where the words should go. The words are from the "Sweet Ice Cream set and were stamped using Coastal Cabana ink.

The butterfly is from the "Butterfly Brilliance". This is an interesting set. There are six butterflies to stamp and they are all on one piece of rubber.  And the matching die allows you to cut them all at the same time.  How cool is that?  Unless you need a bunch of one size for a swap!! LOL But I'm sure I'd figure out a way to use them later.  What's more fun than to open a set up and there inside it are some stamped pieces ready to use?  I love it when I run across that.  I stamped the butterflies using black Memento ink and then die cut them out.  I used the second largest butterfly and colored it using my Coastal Cabana marker and a Blender pen.  I highlighted some areas using only the pen.  I colored the body of the butterfly using the light Soft Suede Blends pen.  I wanted the butterfly to have some shimmer so I colored over the wings with my Wink of Stella pen. I added Dimensionals to the back of the butterfly.

I took some gold thread and wrapped it around my fingers a few times and used glue dots to hold the threads together. I stuck the treads to the front of the embossed square.

The butterfly was set in place over the thread on the textured square piece. Then the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I added some crystal rhinestones to the butterfly and the card was done.

I think it's a bright and cheery birthday card. It was easy enough to make and gun too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to see this fun butterfly card,

Zany Zebras, Children's Birthday Card

I found a layout that I REALLY liked using the "Zany Zebra" set. This set was hardly used. One of the zebras was still attached to the red rubber backing it came on, that's how little I used the set. You can see the original card here.  Though I am not a big fan of these split type cards. I think they are a bit flimsy. They feel that way when you open them. But I liked the top part, so I went with it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package. I cut the DSP at 4" x 5-1/4".  Then I set the die from the "Curvy Dies" set on top of the DSP about 1-3/4" on the left and 1-1/2" on the right.  I ran it through my Big Shot and set it on top of the front of the card so I could cut that piece to match. I used some post it tape to hold the DSP on the front of the card and then I set the die back on the DSP, lining up all the holes. I added a little post it tape to hold it in place and ran it through the Big Shot.  Now I do recommend you open the card when you do this. I did not and ended up ruining the whole card. And of course I laughed when I took it out of the Big Shot.  Rolled my eyes back and grabbed another half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  So, once I got it cut right, I taped the DSP to the upper part of the card.

I took the remaining piece of DSP and cut the bottom off at 1-1/4", so the piece measured 1-1/4" x 5-1/4".  I also cut the Basic White piece that was die cut off and cut it at 1-1/2", so that piece measured 5-1/2" x 1-1/2".  I taped the DSP to the Basic White piece, making sure I lined the top edge of the DSP to the top edge of the Basic White piece.

I stamped the donkey from the "Zany Zebra" set using black Memento ink. I die cut it using the second largest stitched circle die and I die cut a Basic Black scalloped circle that was just a little bit larger than the stitched circle.

The zebra's ears were colored in using the light Flirty Flamingo Blends pen and the cheek and belly were colored in using the light Petal Pink Blends pen.  I taped the circles together.

The words are from the "Zany Zebra" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I lined them up with the edge of the bottom piece and set it up in my Stamparatus to stamp it.

To set the circle in place, I first taped the bottom piece using post it note tape. I didn't want it moving on me.  I added a little bit of glue to the bottom of the circle where it would be touching the bottom strip and I pressed it in place. Then I added glue to the top where it would be touching the DSP and I set one of my paper punches on it to weight it down to set up. I cleaned up my stamps and put them back and I figured the glue had long enough to do it's job and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make, it was easy enough and very quick too.  I did end up taping another Basic Black circle to the backside of the front one and it did give the card a lot more stability.  I'm sure Basic White would have been fine too, either way it improved the card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this fun children's card,
