Unbounded Love, Unbounded Beauty, Birthday Card, Birthday Card, Pocket Technique, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun "Pocket" card to share with you. It's a fun and easy technique. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" of Basic White card stock. I cut 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Unbounded Beauty" 12" x 12" package and I taped it to the card base.

I cut a 3" x 8" piece of DSP and folded it in half. This is the part that once opened you can write on. I taped this to a 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" piece of card stock, mine is Basic White. This is the piece that goes into the pocket. In the pic I forgot to add the 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" for the inside of the card.

The corner pocket piece is made with two squares. I ended up making two cards because of the pocket corners. Those pieces are cut at 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" for the layer and 3-1/4" x 3-1/4" for the top layer. The pieces are cut on the diagonal. Those pieces were taped together and then I glued the left and bottom edges to the front of the card.  Now the pocket is formed.

The words are from the "Unbound Love" bundle and were stamped using Berry Burst ink and then cut using the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside until the leaves were cut. I cut a Berry Burst one and a Petunia Pop one. I stuck them to the Dimensionals and then I set the word piece in place. And that was it. These are very simple cards to make and they don't take much time either.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Sentimental Park, Countryside Inn, Birthday Card, Fun Fold, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm going to share with you how to make this double point fun fold. I'm not a big fan of fancy folds because some of them need to have instructions for the one who receives them. For example, like the ones that stand up. Not everyone knows it's a stand-up card.  Today's card doesn't need any instructions, it's pretty straight forward. It's different and it was fun to make. You may want to check out a YouTube video on how to make this card. I will do my best to explain.

The base of the card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Boho Blue card stock.

The Basic White inside piece on my card measures 8" x 5-1/4", this piece needs to be folded in half. On the front of it, in the center I stamped "You". The inside is blank for you to write whatever you'd like.

The points were made by taking two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package and cut them at 3" x 4" each.  Then score at 2" on the short side, you will be making a 4" score line. With the side of the DSP you like facing down, fold that scored piece up. Then take the upper left corner of the piece to the center of the whole piece and repeat for the other side. It's kind of like when you start making a paper sail boat (remember those? does anyone make them anymore? I'm old!! LOL).  You will repeat this for the other piece. I glued the points of my pieces down so they wouldn't come open.

Next you are going to take those folded points and glue that 2" part to the backside of the Basic White folded piece. Do this on the top and the bottom. There, your points are now made. This piece is then taped or glued to the Boho Blue piece.

Now you can decorate the front as you will. The Basic White piece in the center of the layer was textured using the "Timber" embossing folder. The piece was then glued to the Boho Blue piece behind it.

The cute flowers are from the "Sentimental Park" bundle and were die cut using Basic White, Boho Blue, and Night of Navy card stock. I randomly put them together and then added them to the layered panel. Once they were where I thought they looked the best, I added pearls to the centers.

The words are from the "Sentimental Park" bundle and were stamped using Night of Navy ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I trimmed it to measure 2-1/8" x 7/16".  And the Night of Navy layer behind it measures 2-1/4" x 9/16". I taped the two pieces together and set it in place on top of the panel.

Then the panel was set in place on the front of the card, centering it as best as I could. I used three Dimensionals at the top to hold the panel in place.

On the bottom I had die cut a Basic White flower and a Night of Navy detailed piece that was glued on top. I added a small Dimensional to the bottom part of the flower and before sticking it to the bottom part of the point, I put the panel down flat to see where this flower would catch it to hold it shut.  I added a pearl to that bottom flower and the card was done.

This was a fun card but like I said, I'm not big on fancy folds so I doubt I'd be making another one any time soon.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's fun fold birthday card,

Lovely & Lasting, Rustic Harvest, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

I saw this fun card on Kards by Kadie blog and my eyes lit up! I have been looking for a card to make using this DSP from the "Rustic Harvest"  Designer Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" package. I had seen a few but was waiting for something else to come along and look what "came along!"  I was thrilled. You can see the original card here.  While you are there, check out some of Kadies other cards and projects, she has some nice items.

Now you know I'm not one for fancy folds but this one was fun and easy to make, plus it still leaves you room on the inside to write. Some of those fancy folds have such limited space and for layouts like this, they add a piece of Basic White on the back to write on. That I do not care for at all. You write on the inside of cards!  It's been a card law for years!!! LOL

The base of the card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock. The instructions read that you needed to cut a 3-1/4" x 8-1/2" piece of Basic Black and score it at 4-1/4".  Two pieces of Basic White were cut at 3" x 4".  One is for the inside and one is for the front. I taped those in place but I did glue the folded piece on the front and it was glued about 1/2" from the left edge of the card base. I chose glue for the stability.

Next the DSP was cut at 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" and taped to the front of the card. Now I didn't follow the way the original card was made or I would have added my ribbon around the Basic White piece with the DSP taped on and then affixed it to the front of the flap. SO my ribbon goes around that flap and is tied in a knot and that's why my not looks different too. But it's okay, it still looks nice. I also added a 1" strip of the DSP to the inside of the card too, at the bottom of the 3" x 4" Basic White piece.

The words are from the "Lovely & Lasting" set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the 1-7/8" circle from the "Layering Circles" die set. And the Basic Black scalloped circle was cut one size larger. I taped the circles together and then glued them to the front of the card. What I do here to make sure I don't get glue or tape on the inside part is I set the circle where I want it to go. Then I open the flap, holding firmly onto the circle and I take my fingernail and "draw" along the edge of the flap on the backside of the circle. This makes a light mark and I know to glue on the other side and almost up to that mark. Once the glue was added I had the flap open and I set the circle in place, looking from the backside and then I opened the card up and laid it sprawled out so I could move the circle a bit if I needed to straighten it out. Then I pressed down firmly to get the glue to adhere.  A couple of rust enamel dots were added to the circle and the card was done.

This was a fun card. I found it very easy to make and maybe next time I'll get the ribbon part done so it's not so bulky inside. It's not all that bulky but I really don't care to see the ribbon on the inside when I open up the card.

I think I'd like to try this layout for a Christmas card. It's quick and easy enough to make several. I am still searching for our annual card. I think I may have found the layout!

Thank you Kadie, for such a great card to CASE.

And thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Thinking of You card,

Happiness Abounds, Hues of Happiness, Stampin' Up!

Here is another one of the cards I made from the "World Cardmaking Day" kit that Terri had sent me. I didn't get a chance to make them all. There were three in the kit. I will make the last one in the next few days. It was fun and different for me. I'm not one to do a lot of "fun folds" type cards. Mostly because those purchasing my cards don't care much for them.

This card has a flat base. It's a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic Black card stock. The front flap part is cut at 2-1/4" x 5-1/2".  It's folded in half and a 2" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock is added to the inside. You can stamp on it before adding it. I just left it blank, there's not a lot of room to write on a layout like this.

The front has a 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perfect Penciled" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the flap. Then I taped that flap piece to the the Basic Black base. It's about 1" from the left edge.

The flower is from the "Hues of Happiness" DSP and was die cut with the matching die. I also die cut a Basic Black piece to go behind it for stability. I set the flower on the front and I gently ran my fingernail over the back of it along the edge of the flap so I could see where not to add Dimensionals. I added the Dimensionals and set the piece in place on the front.

Leaves were die cut and set in place under the flower and the card was done.

It's a very quick and easy card to make. And I'm thinking that it's a great way to use up some of those strips of DSP I have.  Though I think I would use the layout but not make the flap part. I'd just cut that front piece at 2-1/4" x 4-1/4" and use a folded half-sheet of Basic Black for the card.

This was a fun card to make!  I can't wait to find some time to finish the last one.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's fun fold card,

Hues of Happiness, World Cardmaking Day, Stampin' Up! 2022-2021 Catalog

Sad to say I did not get to play along with Terri Gaines yesterday on "World Cardmaking Day" I had chores to do and you know if you don't get your chores done you don't get to play. But I got my chores done early enough today that I had time to watch the video and play along. Terri had set her customers packets of card stock and Designer Series Paper (DSP) to play along. I didn't have the stamp set she used so I used a flower image I had on my shelf. Here is a link to Terri's video on how to make this card and two others.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. The front was cut off at 2-1/2" leaving 3" on the left side.

The DSP is new to me, it was in the kit that was mailed to me. It's called "Perfectly Penciled" DSP. There's penciled flowers on the backsides of what you see here.  Terri had us cut the dotted piece at 1" and it was already cut at 2" x 4". That strip was taped to the left of the card and then the lined piece that was also cut at 2" x 4" was taped on next.

She had stamped a flower but I didn't have the set she used so I used a flower from the "Hues of Happiness" DSP. I die cut it and die cut the leaves to go with it. Terri did give a nice tip, she had colored her stamped image in using Blends pens and they bleed through the back of the card stock. So she die cut a Basic Black piece and taped the stamped piece on top. So that is what I did here, I die cut the flower and then I die cut a Basic Black piece. I did mine that way more for the stability because the DSP is a lot thinner than card stock. I taped the flower to the Basic Black flower shape and the piece was set in place using Dimensionals. Make sure you don't get the Dimensional on the inside of the card. What I do is I set my image where I want it and I hold it in place while I run my fingernail lightly along the edge of the card behind the image. It leaves a light line that I can see and know not to cross over with Dimensionals or tape. Nothing like taping your card shut! And yes, I've done that before, once or twice. LOL

So once the flower was set in place, I added the leaves. Then a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

It was fun and quick but I'm still sad I wasn't able to play along yesterday. But better late than never. I'm not sure how I'm going to decorate the other two cards in the kit but I'll figure out something as the week goes on.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see my World Cardmaking Day card,

Happiness Abounds, Hues of Happiness, Fancy Fun Fold, Wedding Card, Stampin' Up!

I ran across this card today while looking for something else. Isn't that how it goes?  And I totally forgot what I was originally looking for. That's how it goes in my life!!! LOL What caught my eye was the use of that lacy looking die that comes in the "Happiness Abounds" bundle.  There is a video but I got a bit frustrated with it because it had been recorded live so the gal was asking the viewers what they wanted in color and layouts, etc. I found it a bit irritating because it was taking a lot of time to make a card that really would only take under 15 minutes to make. I'm not saying don't watch the video, I'm just giving you a heads up on how this video is. But I will share with you all the measurements (that I found hard to get off the video too).

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

This card was scored on the long side at 4-1/4" and 7-1/4". The first score is the center fold of the card. The smaller area is folded upward.

I cut a 5-1/2" x 1" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hues of Happiness" 12" x 12" package. This piece was taped on the small folded piece. Make sure you tape it so it's on the front of the card.

Next a 1" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the bottom piece. I textured mine using the "Pretty Flowers" embossing folder. I glued that piece in place on the bottom part of the card. I folded the card shut for placement. It's actually glued to the inside part of the card.

The upper piece measures 2-1/4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I used the lattice type die from the "Blooming Happiness" die set. I had to position it so I could die cut it twice to fit on the whole piece of card stock. I set this piece in place using glue. Then I glued that small flap piece down. In the video she used Dimensionals to hold it down. I wanted my piece flat so I just glued it.

A 2-1/2" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the background for the flowers. There's a border edge die in the set and it was used on the left side of this piece of card stock.

The flowers were die cut from the "Hues of Happiness" package and set in place on that 2-1/2" x 3" piece of Basic White card stock. The leaves were die cut and set in place with tape. The smaller leaves on the left side were fussy cut.

Dimensionals were added in the area where the 2-1/2" x 3" piece of card stock will sit and it was set in place.

I had a purple candy dot so I added that to the upper right corner and the card was done.

There was no room for words. Well, no place that they would look nice and not ruin the beauty of this card. I thought it looked like a wedding card so I'm putting it in my wedding card stash.

This was a fun card to make and I can see myself making another now that I have the measurements.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's wedding card,

Lovely & Lasting, Awash in Beauty, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

I have to admit it, I don't follow directions very well. I am not fond of fancy fold cards and this one had me a bit confused. I was trying to figure out how this card opens with something hanging down from the top left.  I used some removable tape and added a tag to the top piece. I tried to open the card and it would get stuck. SO I took this card in a different direction. You can see the original card here

So here's how I made this card.

I took a half sheet of Granny Apple Green card stock and I scored it at 2-1/8" and 6-3/8".  These scored panels close inward.

I cut two strips of Designer Series Paper from the "Awash in Beauty" 12" x 12" package. I used the pink striped one for the two panels. They were cut at 5-1/2" x 2".  I taped them in place on the side panels.

Then I cut a 3-1/2" x 5" piece of DSP from the same "Awash in Beauty" package. I cut it in half on the 5" side. It's cut like that because the flowers were supposed to line up when the card is closed, had I made it the way it was intended to be made. Once the DSP was cut I taped them to a 3-3/4"x 2-3/4" piece of Granny Apple Green card stock for the layers, I cut two. I taped the DSP to the pieces and then taped the pieces to the front of the card. I taped them so the top and left side were lined up on the top one and on the bottom I lined up the right and bottom sides.  I liked the look, I was able to see the pink DSP in the back.

I die cut a stitched circle from the "Stylish Shapes" die set using the 3rd largest circle on Basic White card stock. I set it in place on the center of the top panel using Dimensionals.

I die cut a flower from a different piece of DSP from the "Awash in Beauty" package, and I cut a leaf at the same time. I set the flower in place using Dimensionals and I slipped the leaf under it.

For the bottom panel, I added a word piece. I used the same "Stylish Shapes" die set. I stamped the words from the "Lovely & Lasting" set using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I die cut the piece. I set it in place on the front of the card, centering it on the panel.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

I probably could have been more creative with the card but when you are working on something you are not real fond of it makes it difficult to go above and beyond.

It was fun to step outside the box (once in a while) but tomorrow I'm back in the box!!! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's interesting fold birthday card,

Eden's Garden, Thinking of You Card, Fun Fold, 2022 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I found this fun fold technique on Pinterest so I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card here. There's a brief show of how it opens there and if you click through there's instructions but they are for a 5" x 7" card. Here's how I made mine.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. Two pieces of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flowering Fields" 12" x 12" package were cut. One measures 4" x 5-1/4" and the other was cut at 3-3/4" x 5".  The larger layer is the backside of the smaller flowered layer.  I taped those two layers together.

Next I lined up my 1-7/8" circle die and cut it out in the upper part of the card. I tried to line up the sides and top to get the circle equal on those sides. After cutting the circle out I taped the layer to the front of the card. I set the die back in the open circle area and die cut the Basic White circle out on the front.

Then I cut a 5-1/4" x 8" piece of Merry Merlot card stock. I scored it at 4" and 6".  I folded the piece in half, the raw edges are on the left and the fold line is on the right. I took the left raw edge and folded the scored piece towards the folded edge. The piece has a valley fold and a mountain fold. I taped the large unscored part of this piece to the inside of the Basic White card base.

I used the 1-1/4" scalloped die and cut another piece from the backside of the flowered DSP. The words were stamped from the "Eden's Garden" using Merry Merlot ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. Then I stamped the leaves from the "Eden's Garden" using Just Jade ink. The 2" scalloped circle die to cut them out. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on top of the scalloped DSP piece.

Now here's the tricky part. I shut the card by first folding in the right Merry Merlot piece and then the font of the card base was closed. I slipped the scalloped circle layers between the piece so it showed up in the circle on the front of the card. I lifted the edge up a bit and put some tape under it. You can use glue if you prefer. Then I opened up the card and added some more tape to that side of the circle to make sure it stayed in place. Glue probably would have been easier to put in that tape but I often do things the hard way! LOL  After the piece was set in place, I added three crystal rhinestones to the Basic White circle.  A 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make. A very interesting fold too!  I am not all that fond of it because the card doesn't stay closed. It does catch on the circle by the Basic White scallop but it's still partially open. Not a look I like. But all in all it's a pretty card and will brighten up someone's day.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's thinking of you card,

Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Beautiful Bouquet, Love What You Do, Birthday Card, Fold Technique

Today I found a very fun fold card technique.  You can see the original card and the instructions for it here, just in case I miss something while I try to explain it to you.

You begin with a 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of card stock for the base.  One video I saw said to cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock for the back of the card where you can write on. I don't like that idea, there is plenty of room to write on the inside.

On top of the card base I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pear Pizzazz card stock. Oh, the base of my card is Soft Sea Foam.
And on top of that is a 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Soft Sea Foam.  You can wait to add that piece if you want. I waited until I was done with the Whisper White folded piece. It was just easier for me to line it up.  But either way works.

Next I cut the Whisper White piece 4-1/4" x 11".  You will be able to make two cards from one sheet of Whisper White card stock. Once it's cut you will need to score it on the long side at 1-1/2", 3", 5-1/2" and 8". Then you will fold them beginning with the 1-1/2" score, mountain then valley, then mountain and the last fold is valley.

Now you will want to stamp your images or words before adding the decorative papers.

The decorative papers are from the "Subtles" 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack. There's 40 sheets of fun in those packs.  I used three different designs of the DSP.  The large dotted DSP on the front was cut 4" x 1-1/4".  The stripped DSP was cut 4" x 2-1/4" and the larger piece with tiny dots all over is measured 4" x 2-3/4".

The words on the front of my card are from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set. The words "forever young" on the inside are from the same set.  The flowers on the inside panel are from the "Love What You Do'' set. And the flowers on the front were stamped and die cut from the "Beautiful Bouquet" set.

I colored the flowers using the Merry Merlot marker. I stamped the flowers on the front using the Merry Merlot ink pad.  I die cut them and set them on the front using tiny Dimensionals. I added a pearl to the center of each flower.

The Happy Birthday" from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set was stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut it with the 1-7/8" x 1-7/8" square die. And the layer was cut with the scalloped square die and Pear Pizzazz card stock.  Once this Whisper White piece is all folded, stamped and decorated then it was taped to the Soft Sea Foam piece of card stock.  The words on the front were added last.

I hope I explained this well enough for you. You can always refer to the video for more help.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,

A Fabulous Florets Birthday Card Stampin' Up!

Let's talk about versatility here.  The word stamp here is from the "Delightful Dozen" set and it can not only be used for a mom's birthday card but for a Mother's Day card as well!

I do like how the card turned out but after looking at it more I realized that I should not have made that focal piece the part that opens on the card.  I should have made the card the way it looks in the photo, all that you see being the front of the card.  In reality the dotted paper part is the inside of the card.  So yes, that means you have to write over the dots.  But on the brighter side of wrigint over the dots, that means that your words would be straight! LOL

The base of this card is a half a sheet of Rose Red cardstock cut in half on the short side.  Then it is folded in half on the long side.  Then you cut off half of the front panel (2-3/4").  That piece you cut off is turned sideways and used on the front of the card for the focal part.  It's a fun fold but it doesn't leave you much room to write.

The flower is from the "Fabulous Florets" set. A set I have used a LOT!  And still plan on using a lot more!

It was a fun and easy card to make and like I said, the next one I make using that layout will not open like this one does, it will open "normally!"  LOL

Fun Fold Friday Easy Events

I would like to add one more card using the very fun fold that I showed you on Wednesday.  And speaking of Wednesday, I didn't even get a chance to play with Split Coast Stamper's Sketch Challenge.  I did print it out and it's somewhere on my messy desk!

This card was made by a very fabulous and talented stamper (and wonderful friend) Ann.  She needed to make some thank you cards and this is one of them she came up with.  I am SO loving this fold.  Terri always comes up with some fun fold cards.

The measurements to this card can be found here.  It's a very easy card to put together.  Ann even simplified it more by not adding two layers to the side panel or the ribbon and I think it looks wonderful either way!

I want to wish you all a very fun and safe holiday weekend!  For those of you who are staying home.  Be safe, have fun stamping and watch out for paper cuts!!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Easy Events Baby Shower Card

I had gotten some requests for measurements on yesterdays card so I thought I would make another card and measure as I go.  I needed to make a baby shower card for my husband's great niece.  Yup, he's going to be a great-great uncle (again!).  And no, he's not really that old!!  His sisters are 17 years older than he is so there's bound to be some generation gaps there!

So to make this card you need to cut your card stock as follows:

Take a piece of card stock cut 5-1/2” x 4-1/4”.  Score it in half on the long side (your score line is 4-1/4” long).

Cut the front flap off at 1-3/4”.

The layer behind the decorative paper is cut 2-3/8” x 5-3/8”

The decorative paper is cut 2-1/4” x 5-1/4”

Put those two layers together and tie a piece of ribbon around the bottom.  Then tape that piece to the front of the card.

The flap is cut 3” x 6” and score it on the long side.  Fold the 3” score.

Decorate your card as you wish.  Today I used the duck from the Easy Events set.  So there you have it, now get to work on it!!!

Check out yesterdays card to see what the inside looks like.  On this card I used Petite Pairs and the words are "welcome baby."  I still need to stamp the duck on the front of the envelope and get a gift card!  But now I have my card done early!  I have one birthday and one anniversary next month and maybe I should get those cards done early too!!!  Wouldn't that be nice to be ahead of the game?

Fun Fold Friday Christmas Tree

For today's "Fun Fold Friday" I thought I would share with you a wonderful way to make a Christmas tree out of a half circle.  These are SO easy to make that I was even surprised and impressed at the same time!

I was not real happy with the ribbon, I wished I had some that would have matched the decorative paper a bit more.  But I do like how the tree came out.

At the top of my tree I had added a star brad.  You can use any brad but I did find out that you do need to have something up there to help hold all the folds down.  Before I had put the star on and discovered it held the folds I was going to just add a touch of tape at the tip of each fold on the inside.  But after the star went on everything seemed to lay nicely.  And I'm sure it will lay even flatter once the post office gets it's hands on it!!! LOL

This card was a lot of fun and you can get the instructions for this plus a PDF file to download, save and/or just print out to make the circle. I printed out one circle (it has the fold lines on it) and I went from there.  I did not cut out the whole circle either.  I was only planning on making one tree from the decorative paper that I had and I didn't want to cut up a huge piece for just one tree.  Anyway the information you want is found here at Connie's Inkspired Treasures blog.

Have fun with these. You can decorate them up as you please!!

Thank you for stopping by today,

Christmas Shopping Lists Notebook/Folder

Today for the "Fun Fold Friday" item I have a very fun and useful Christmas shopping list keeper/holder/folder, whatever you'd like to call it.  I designed it to put in my purse and be an aid in my Christmas shopping.  Step one would be to know who you are buying for and then to know what they want.  After that it's the shopping and crossing things off the list!!! I LOVE all of that part, it's the wrapping of these "things" on the list that slow me up at Christmas time!!!

Anyway, I bet you would like to know how to make one or several of these?  Well, I'm going to tell you!!!

First you take a piece of card stock. Here I used Riding Hood Red.  I cut it3-7/8" x 9-1/4".  I scored on the long side at 3/4" and 5-1/4".  Fold the scored lines inward and set aside.

Next I cut a piece of Always Artichoke card stock 3-3/8" x 3-5/8" and on top of that I layered a piece of decorative paper that measured 3-1/4" x 3-1/2".

If you want to decorate the bottom flap the card stock was cut at 3/4" x 3-1/3" and the decorative paper was cut at 5/8" x 3-1/2".

Download the pages for the inside and print them out.  You can decorate them as much or as little as you want.  Cut them at 3-15/32" x 4-1/4".  The long side needs to be cut into 3rds that is why the 15/32 inch part is there.

To assemble the pages you just jog them together so the edges are even or as even as can be, insert them into the bottom of the holder in the fold of the short flap and staple them about 1/4" above the edge of the fold.  Your shopping list folder is now ready to use!

You can also access the download by clicking on my web store link which is on the top right side of my blog "Shopping is just a click away"If  you don't see the download in the store you may have to go to the top of the page (in the store) and click on the number of items per page to view.  The download is free!!!
Have fun with this!

Fun Fold Friday Double Z Fold

This fold was on the opening page at Split Coast Stampers today on their Wednesday Tutorial!  What luck for me!!  The link above has  step by step instructions on how to do this and there is also a video.  Personally I like the step by step instructions. Most of them you don't even have to read, you just follow the pictures and you can make the item.  Plus I don't have to deal with the sound.  Some videos have music (these don't) and I find it a bit annoying, distracting and pointless.  They also make the post/video longer to load.  Anyway, I did watch the video after I finished my card and it was just as helpful as the step by step photos (and words).

I was pleasingly surprised at how quickly this card went together too.  It doesn't take long to make these and I could see doing these for a future Christmas card.

I also like how the inside of the card is decorated too.  That is something I rarely do but I am thinking about doing it more.  It makes the inside of the card so much more attractive too!

I did tape my ribbon on the back side of the card. I didn't want it slipping and falling off when someone opens the card.  So it's still on the card but yet the card can be opened and tied back up again without any problems.

Isn't this a cool fold?  Now go try it for yourself!

Gently Falling Fun Fold Friday

This post is going to take forever to do.  My keyboard is acting up.  The shift key is sticking and I type too many words with caps in them and I have to keep backspacing. Now you would think the backspace key would go bad too!!!  I have a new keyboard on the way and I think it will be here tomorrow but not soon enough for me!!!  Typing like this is frustrating!

Today's Fun Fold Friday card is a "Folded Paper Frame" technique.  You can just click on the link above for the fun instructions.  This was a LOT easier than I thought it would be.  This fold took all of 10 minutes to do, if even that long.  The image on the inside is done and set in place before you tape the folds down. You will understand that more when you see the pictures in the instructions.

The card at SplitCoastStampers was a square card but I wanted to make this a regular size so I just added the square to a card front.  After doing that I wasn't sure what I was going to do with the bottom because I had already added words to my card.  Those words came from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.

The leaves are my favorite part of this card.  They are from the Gently Falling set.  I just took it off the shelf for the first time today.  I stamped the leaf using VersaMark and embossed it using Gold embossing powder.  Then I cut the leaves out and sponged them with More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze.  It was very simple and quick to do.

The ribbon took a little time.  Well, not at first.  It was after I decided to weave those pieces in.  That took a little bit of time but it was fun.  I did end up gluing the strips of ribbon in place. It was just too difficult to tape them. Click on the photo for a closer view.

I do like how this card turned out and I like this Fun Fold.  For previous weeks "Fun Fold" cards just click here.  Have fun with this very Fun Fold!

Fun Fold Friday Frostwood Lodge Weekend Project

I’m trying to get things back to “normal” here. We took a few days off earlier in the week to head on up to Duluth for some R&R.  It was nice to get away but it’s the coming back and catching up on things and trying to get back into the everyday routine stuff that is tough.  I did pre-post on my blog so you would have some fun things to look at.  And I was pre-posted up til today.  SO today being it’s the “Fun Fold Friday” post I have something not only fun but great for stocking stuffer’s or little gifts for your friends or coworkers.  I am making these to sell at the upcoming craft fair.  I LOVE making these and they are SO easy to do too.

For the one you are seeing here I took a piece of card stock and cut it 8" x 3".  Now this measurement is set for the tea bag I am using.  My tea bag measures 2-½" x 2-1/4".  The best way to determine the size of the card stock you will need is to take a piece of scrap copier paper and on the short side cut it a half inch longer than the tea bag.  Now take that strip and fold it around the tea bag and make sure you leave a 1/4" space more on the left flap (your first fold).  On the centerfold you will need to add 1/4" more and for the final flap you need to cut it to it will meet on the outside of the first fold you made.  This piece is generally the same size as the middle piece.

On the flap I cut the angle 7/8" up from the bottom and all the way to the fold.  I just line the fold and the 7/8" mark I made on the flap and cut.

I often make these using white card stock and a decorative wheel too.  I LOVE the snowflake wheel for these.  Today I opted to use decorative paper.  Mine is from the “Frostwood Lodge” download I purchased.  This one is #10 in the pack.  I printed it out on 30# copier paper.  You want to use at least a 28# paper but the higher the number the better quality print you will get.

After I cut my cardstock I then cut the pieces of decorative paper 1/8" smaller (on two sides) and taped them in place.

I glued the first panel on the bottom and the open edge.  I folded that panel in place and let the glue set up.  Then I glued the small 7/8" piece and the bottom of that panel and pressed it in place.  I let the glue set up a bit before I added the tea.  If the glue is not dry and you add the tea, the pressure of the tea bulging will cause the bottom to split open.  I don’t usually have that problem since I do about a dozen at a time and by the time I get to the first one it’s set up or even completely dry.

Ok, once you’ve added the tea you can add the bellyband.  I just take a strip of card stock and I wrap it around the tea holder.  I never measure these because it’s easier to wrap, fold and glue.  Don’t glue the bellyband to the holder.  It needs to be slipped off, it’s mostly for decoration.  I am not sure how easy it would be to remove the tea if the band were glued or taped in place.  You can give it a try but to me it’s just another step I don’t want to do.  If you do not glue that angled flap down then you need to make sure the edge of the bellyband is caught under it so it will stay down.

You are now ready to decorate the front as you wish!  My words were done on the computer.  I also have 10 sheets of different wordings for cards that, when printed out, fit in the 1-1/4" circle punch.  You can purchase the download here.  You can print out as many as you like too!

You can add a personal greeting behind that front flap either on the inside of that angled flap or on the cardstock.  I add it to the lower part of the cardstock.  But for the craft fairs I just leave it blank.

On the back of mine I add this little poem.  I print it onto a large 8-1/2" x 11" label and cut them to fit. The poem reads:
On Christmas Day
At half-past three
Have yourself a cup of tea.

I’ll think of you,
You’ll think of me
Sitting around the Christmas tree.

Isn’t that a sweet little poem and SO perfect for this tea holder?

Personally I like making these without the decorative paper.  They go a lot quicker but then again they are not quite as pretty but they are pretty enough!

When I’m all done I seal them up in a 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" baggies and they are ready for the craft fair!

I hope you have fun with this and thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Aviary Fun Fold Friday Card

This card is called a "Center Step" fold.  I've seen these around the net for a while now but never tried one.  It looked like it was too much trouble to do.  It had a "complicated" look to it.  It was actually not that bad to make.

You can find the step by step instructions for this fun fold at Split Coast Stampers.

The instructions have you cut the lines in on each side 1" deep.  It says to flip the card and repeat for the other side.  The wording probably should have read "turn" the card over.  What you will be doing is cutting into the card stock one inch from the outer edge and you need to repeat that same cut on the other side of the card.  It took me a while to figure out what they were saying there.  The photos of it weren't very clear on exactly what to do.  So to save you from any confusion I wanted to tell you how to do the cut.  Oh and be sure NOT to score inside that cut area except for the one score that is in the middle of the card stock.  My first one (on practice paper) I had scored all the way across the bottom when I was only suppose to score one inch in and stop when I got to the cut line.  I was just in such a hurry to get the scoring done that I wasn't paying attention to the instructions.

Once the scoring is done then you fold the score lines.  And finally you can decorate as you wish.

I love using the ribbon punch but I don't like sticking it in place.  One of the best things I bought that helps with this is the Xyron machine.  It puts a sticky back on your card stock so you can punch things out and they become a sticker!!!  I just punched out the ribbons and took the protective backing off and stuck them in place.  SO easy and clean too! I LOVE my Xyron machine!

This was actually a fun card to make and I can see myself making more of these!

Spice Cake Birthday Card Fun Fold Friday

I have found another card to play with on my "Fun Fold Friday" cards!  This one is a bit more in depth than the cards I usually make.  I did have fun making this card.  I love layers on cards and this was full of layers and depth!  You can find the directions to make this fun card at Split Coast Stampers The link will take you directly to the instructions, you won't have to hunt for them!

On my card I used the Spice Cake Downloaded decorative paper.  The "Happy Birthday" was done on my computer.  You can purchase a pack of 10 different greetings that fit in the 1-1/4" punch.  Click here to be taken to the store to see what other greetings are available.

The "It's your day" image is from the "It's your Birthday" set.

The only thing I don't like about this card is it measures 5-1/2" x 5-1/2".  I was going scale it down to fit a regular card but I had already cut out all the pieces and taped the decorative papers before I realized it was a square card.  This will be another one of those hand delivered cards!!!

If you have time give this fun fold card a try!

Fun Fold Friday Swing or Flip Card Using Field Flowers

I am having a lot of fun with the "Fun Fold Friday" cards.  Today's card was found on You Tube by Michelle at Michelle's Rubber Room.  It is a "Swing" or "Flip" card.  Here is the link to the instructions for this card.

I did add a frame to mine before I folded it.

I scored my card and cut it as shown in the video.  Then I took a piece of decorative paper and cut it 1/8" less on two sides.  Then I set it on top marked it and cut and scored as needed.  I did have to line it up on the backing piece to make sure I didn't get the edges wrong.  Once I got the paper cut (oh and I did cut out the whole center of the decorative paper) then I affixed it to the front of my card base.

Once that was all done I added the center part of the card.  For the center part I used the "Field Flowers" stamp set.  And on the inside of that center I also added the "Sincere Salutations" birthday greeting.  The flowers inside the card were added after stamping off twice.  For those of you who do not know what stamping off is please read on.  Stamping off is when you stamp up your image, then you stamp on a piece of scrap paper and then stamp on your card stock. The more you stamp off the lighter your image will be.  You may want to practice with the stamping off to make sure you don't stamp off too many times and end up with an image that looks like you made a smudge on your card!

Now on the inside part of my card I left an open space so I can write something and sign the card.  I had a lot of fun with this card and I can see myself making more of them in the future!
