Stampin' Up! Thank You Card

Today's card comes from you via my friend Peggy.  She was stamping at my home on Tuesday and I recall her having a hard time lining up the word stamp, of which I'm not sure what set that came from.  It's a retired set and I do remember having a lot of fun playing with it and making lots of great cards.  Anyway, I did ask her if she wanted the Stamp-a-ma-jig and she said no.  She's so funny, but she did manage to get them lined up!!  As for me, I cave in early and get out any tool that will help me get my job done faster and easier.  Though to some the Stamp-a-ma-jig is not all that easy.  First you have to dig it out from wherever you buried it!!!

This card is a perfect way to use up those smaller pieces of decorative paper.  I still have larger sheets to use up.  I wish I could get to the point to where all I had left was smaller pieces!  But alas, I am also a paper hoarder.

Thank you Peggy for the pretty card and for letting me share it with everyone here!

And I thank you for stopping by today,

Papillon Butterfly Sympathy Card

Last night I had some very fun stamping gals over. It was such a fun time.  It's great to see them all and also to see what they create!  This is Tracy's creation!  It's such a pretty card.

Tracy used the Papillon Butterfly stamp and the punch that goes with it.  I LOVE that punch.  It sure saves a LOT of time!!! You just punch instead of cut!  Though if you don't have the punch you can always cut it out by hand.

The words came from the "Petite Pairs" set.  A set I have used often.

This is a very easy card to make.  Your base is a half sheet of card stock that is folded in half.  The black layer is 5-1/4" x 4" and the embossed layer is 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".

I'm not sure what size the circle and scallop punches are but just find one that the butterfly fits in and go from there.

Thank you Tracy for letting me share your beautiful card with everyone!

And I thank you all for visiting today,

Valentine's Day Frog!

Now who doesn't love that "Valentine's Day Splash" card I cased the other day?  Last night at Stamp Till You Cramp, Leah really liked it and was going to make it.  I had the papers all ready in a pile if she wanted to give it a try.  She took out this adorable frog sticker set she had gotten at Michael's or Joann's and said that her son's girlfriend likes frogs.  I suggested she put the frog on the splash image and she thought she'd give it a try!

This is her card (and envelope)!  We learned to ALWAYS stamp on the envelope from our friend and fabulous fellow stamper Ann!  Ann noticed right away that the envelope was stamped!!!  We all loved the card and I'm sure that Leah's son's girlfriend is going to like it too!

Isn't it amazing how you can incorporate stickers into your cards and they just seem to work so well together.  And talk about making a card in no time!  This card went together quickly!!

Thank you Leah for letting me share you fun card with everyone, you're the best!

And thank you for visiting my blog today,

Golden Anniversary Card

Today I have a very pretty Golden Anniversary card to share with you.  My friend Sandi made this card.  The paper she used was some type of gold vellum.  It was absolutely stunning!  You did a great job on this card Sandi and thank you for letting me share it with everyone.

I think you could use the brushed gold card stock to repeat this card.  I am going to have to give it a try since I haven't a clue as to where to get the gold vellum!

The images were heat embossed so it also gives the card some texture too!

Stop back tomorrow.  I will have a fun and inexpensive Valentine's Day gift project!  Oh and it's also easy to make too!  You know you love that!!! LOL

Stamping on Velvet

Today I am going to share with you a card that Jan V. made at the last technique class Terri  had.

The theme of the card swap was to make a card using the technique from the prior month. One of Novembers techniques was stamping on velvet. If you click on the photo you can see the image a little better. It's really cute it's got two trees in the middle are two children on a bicycle. This adorable stamp is from the "take it to heart" stamp set from the new occasions Mini catalog.

This is such a pretty Valentine's Day card and it was so sweet of Jan to give me one!

You can find the velvet stamping technique here.

This is also one of those standup cards. They are very easy to make. You cut your card stock in half on the short side.  Fold the carton half and then fold the top part of the card in half putting the edge toward the inside. Withhold the card up or open is the little heart set in place using a Dimensional. I love red white and black cards exclamation point this is such a pretty card, thank you Jan for letting me share it with everyone on my blog!

Flower Garden Embossing Folder Thank You Card

This is one of the cards I got in a swap with our DIVA group, it was made by Autumn!

I don't use the "Flower Garden" embossing folder as much as I would like to and I don't know why.  Perhaps it's because I have too many other things to play with!!!  That sounds SO familiar!!! LOL

This is a very quick and simple card to make too.  The only thing you stamp on it is the "thank you".  Ya gotta LOVE that!!  I know I do!

Oh my goodness, it took me 15 minutes to type this much.  Every type with a curious cat on your lap?  It's VERY challenging!!! LOL

I think this is a very pretty card.  I LOVE the decorative paper strip too.  It's from the "Beyond the Garden" pack.  Another item that is on my wish list that I have not gotten to yet!!  And that wish list keeps growing and growing too!  Ever have that happen to you?

Thank you Autumn for letting me share your wonderful creation with everyone.

And I thank you SO much for stopping by today,

Easy Events Birthday Card

This is card from the last DIVA swap I was in.  I wasn't able to attend the event but I did decide to join in the swap.  Something I hadn't done in a long time.

This card was made by Nancy. The decorative paper is from the "Just add Cake" pack.  I bought the download for the paper but have not played with it much.  I think I just have too much stuff to play with and not enough time to play with it all!!!  Sound familiar?

The base of the card is So Saffron.  There is a layer of white card stock and then the decorative paper was set on top of that.

One of my favorite things is the corner rounder on only two corners.  When that is done on a card it always catches my eye.

This is a car that will surely brighten any one's birthday.

Thank you Nancy for allowing me to share your wonderful card with everyone.

Just Believe Sympath Card

My friend Ann sent me this card shortly after she heard or read about the death of my wonderful kitty KC.

It's such a pretty card.  I especially love the butterflies.

I SO love using the "Just  Believe" set.  There is SO much you can do with it and you all know how much I love sets that are versatile!

This is one of those cards that the white part is folded and taped in place on top of a 1/4 piece of colored card stock.  I have not made a card like that in a long time.  This card has inspired me to give this a try again!!

Thank you Ann for the pretty card, for thinking of me and for being such a good friend.

And thank you for stopping by today,

Sharing What They Make

Last week I had the gals here for our monthly stamping.  What a great group of gals and I consider myself SO fortunate to have gotten to know them all.

This is a card that Lynn made.  I LOVE the texture at the bottom  with the stamping at the top.  It's such a sweet and elegant looking card.

I also like how she rounded the corners on the white card stock.  It just softened the card even more.

Thank you Lynn for letting me share your card with everyone!

Fifth Avenue Floral Card

I have been changing the size of my images to a smaller one so I hope they are loading faster for you.  I HATE waiting for websites to load and anything to help out and make it quicker is always a good thing!

This card was from the last DIVA swap.  It was made by Amy. There is SO many things I just LOVE about this card.  First of all it is made on 1/4 sheet of card stock.  The Blushing Bride card stock on the top is 4-3/4" x 3-1/4" (4-3/4" x 6-1/2" before folding).  And that piece is how you open the card.  I love that layout, it's fun and different.

I do have to commend Amy on all the cutting.  Each one of those flowers was stamped on a different background and each one was cut out by hand.  Oh and they were cut out SO perfectly too!!!  I am not even sure if I ever used that flower in my set.  I do know that I have not used that set much at all.  I think it's time to dig it out and play with it some more!

I LOVE your swap card Amy and thank you for letting me share it with everyone!

The project I've been trying to finish up should be done tomorrow.  I need to do laundry tonight and my workroom is next to the laundry room so I will be able to hang out and get some stuff finished up!!! I LOVE laundry day!  The sad thing about this project is, it's very simple, easy and quick (if you have the time for it).  I haven't had a moment to sneak away and work on it.  But thanks to dirty clothes I will be finished them up tonight and I will share them with you tomorrow!  PROMISE!!

Upsy Daisy Bleaching Technique

One of my fellow DIVA's, Julianne made this card.  The theme for this swap was to either make a gift card holder card or a flower card.  I LOVE how the bleaching turned out on here.  With the bleaching technique you never really know what you are going to get. Some papers you use will bleach differently than others.  I had black card stock bleach and leave an orange color behind.  It was great if you were making a moon!

You do have to be careful when doing this so you only get bleach on the things you want it on though!  I do love the look of this technique but I do find it dries out the rubber on my stamps.  It makes the rubber seem a lot more firm.  So what I do is when I am done stamping with it, I was the bleach off with soap and water.  Then I ink up the stamp with VersaMark.  The glycerin in the VersaMark helps to rehydrate that rubber.  I like to leave it on there overnight and then I wash it off with soap and water and the stamp is as good as new!  One more thing to remember with the bleaching technique, always clean the stamp off immediately after you are done with it. Never leave it set overnight.

There, now you got a fun technique to play with and some tips on what to do to take care of your stamps after!

Thank you Juliann for letting me share your beautiful card with everyone!

Just Believe Friendship Card

I was going to start this out by saying that this "Just Believe" set is one of my favorite sets.  Well, I think I say that every time I post a card on here.  SO lets just say that all the sets I purchase are my favorite!  Why else would I buy them?

I am pretty sure this card is from one of our swaps but I forgot who made it.  I usually type in their name under the card when I download them but that time I forgot.  Seems like I've been forgetting a LOT of things lately.  I must be getting old!! LOL  Who are we kidding, I AM old!!

Ok, lets talk about this pretty card.  I do SO love using the Concord Crush colors. Here the ink pad, ribbon and card stock were used.  And don't forget the marker. It was used to color in the flowers.  That technique is called "Direct to Rubber".  One of the fun and easy techniques.

The background paper was dry embossed and the front piece was cut using the "Top Note" die.  I do like it but I don't find myself using it much.  I guess I really need the right card to make that die work for me.  It sure did work on this card.

So DIVA gals, who's card is this??  I want to give you credit for your fabulous creation!

Thank you SO much for visiting my site today,

Create a Cupcake Birthday Card

This card was made by a fellow demonstrator Amy.  I ran across it the other day and realized I hadn't shared it with you.  I LOVE how she punched out all those cute cherries to put in the "basket".

That set and the punch are on the top of my favorite things to play with when I stamp.  I LOVE stamps and punches that go together.  The less cutting out I have to do the more I will use the images and punches.  Though I have been known to cut out a lot of flowers.  I guess if you really like what you are doing, all the cutting doesn't matter, much!! I whine about cutting out flowers and stuff but the end results do make it all worthwhile.

Thank you very much Amy for letting me share your wonderful card with everyone!

Word Play Card

It took me a while to figure out how flip this card.  I had taken the picture with my cell phone. Then I emailed the photo to myself.  I open up email and the photo is laying on it's side.  UGH.  What do I do?  The flip option was not available on the program it opened up into.  I hate computer issues.  I get frustrated very quickly when things go wrong with the computer and I don't know what to do.  Our son usually helps me out with my computer issues.  He has my computer set up to remote connect and get on here and look around to see what is wrong.  I have no idea how things go wrong on here.  "I didn't do it!"  I think I told you this before but it is worth repeating.  He once told me I broke the Internet!!  And the funny part of that was that I believed him!  I had been web site hopping that day big time and got some kind of virus from one of the web sites.  So after he took care of the bug I was careful where I go on here.

Ok, lets talk about this card.  First of all I want to say how cool the font is on these words.  It is from the "Word Play" set.  I don't have that one and I don't think it was on my wish list but it will be now!  Anyway, I was at Sue's on Monday and Autumn was there.  She had found this card on the net somewhere (like me forgot to make note of where she found it to give credit) and she wanted to make the card.  She asked me if I would help her.  Not that I was all that much help but I said I would.  She punched out all the parts for the key and lock and sponged them.  I put them together.  I also cut out the decorative paper that was cut out in the "Top Note" Sizzix die.  And Autumn did the rest.

Isn't that lock and key the cutest?  When she was done with the punches and went to put them away, her arms were full.  I was surprised at all the punches that were used to make that lock and key.  But it's SO worth it!

Here is the list of punches:
1. 119862 Designer Label Large Punch

2. 119868 1" Circle Medium Punch

3. 119881 Heart to Heart XL Punch

4. 117190 Jewelry Tag Medium punch

5. 119855 1 3/4" x 7/8" Oval large punch

6. 119863 1 3/8" x 5/8" oval large punch

7. 119857 Word Window Large Punch

8. 119849 Modern Label XL Punch  WOW, huh???

I do like the card but don't think I'll be making any for my personal use.  Not sure I have all those punches either!!!  Oh, I probably do but don't want to take them all out.  Then you have to put them all away and that is the part I REALLY hate!!!  My workroom is pretty much cleaned up right now but that is only because I have stampers in the morning!  You should have seen it an hour ago!  Both worktables were full of papers and stamp sets, punches and scissors.  Such a mess.  But now it's clean and I am going to keep it that way!!!  LOL  I don't believe that, not for a moment.  I am not a neat stamper.  I wait until I have no room left on either table and then I clean things up!  Or when I have stampers coming over.  How can I discipline myself to clean up after each project???  The million dollar question!  And no, you won't get a million dollars if you tell me how! LOL  If I had a million dollars I'd hire someone to clean up after me!  LOL  Wouldn't that be nice?

I thank you SO much for visiting today, later in the week I will have a fun project for you! It's been a while!

Have a happy Stamping Day,
Wanda

Nature Walk

This is another card from our DIVA Day punch swap.  Denise is the designer of this card.  I SO love the Marina Mist and Chocolate Chip card stock on this card.  It's got such a rich look to it.

And the stamp set is "Nature Walk" from the Occasions Mini catalog.  I did get this set but have not used it yet.  I'm sure you are wondering why!!!  Well, there were just TOO many sets in that mini that I liked and of course I did get most of them on my wish list!  And now it's a matter of using them before the end of the April when the mini expires.  I'm sure I can manage to work up a few cards and craft items before then.  Actually I have a few in progress. My problem is I start something and set it aside because something else came to mind.  When that happens (which is ALL the time) it takes me a while to complete the projects but when I do I have some fun things to share with you all!  SO be patient with me as I work through these projects that I have sitting around here! It gets a bit crazy at times!

Anyway, back to Denise's FABULOUS card!  When we stamped the background image she had the the four images mounted on a clear block so we just inked it up and stamped on our card stock.  I thought it was such a cool way to do that!  I am SO loving the butterfly in this set and want to make a card with it on it.  I'm really getting anxious for spring. Yup, me the winter lover is now ready for spring.  Actually, what I'm ready for is my workroom to warm up.  It's been SO cold this winter and my workroom is downstairs and it just never seemed to warm up this season.  There were times I could feel the cold radiate off the walls.  And we are not going to even talk about our gas bill.  My jaw is still not back to normal!! LOL

I thank you Denise for letting me share your wonderful creation with everyone!  I SO love this card and what is nice about it is it would make a great masculine card too!  It seems there is a shortage of nice masculine cards out there!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

Super Quick Cards

If you need a card quick the embossing folders is the way to go.  A piece of card stock, some scrap card stock and the embossing folder and you are good to go.  Ann (Anniebananie) made this card and gave me one.  She is SO sweet!  I have to take a moment and tell you about Ann. She is one of the most kindest people you will ever meet and when you do meet her you know you want her for your friend!  Sorry Ann, just had to!!!

Stampin' Up! has some fun embossing folders that will allow you to put a card together in no time.  I like to use the "Elegant Bouquet" and the "Elegant Lines" folders for cards like this.  Oh and there was the snowflake one from the Holiday mini.  Hope it shows up in the new catalog this summer!!!

You can decorate these as much or as little as you want and the card will always look elegant. It's got the clean and simple look to it.  So wen you are in a pinch and need a quick card think about your embossing folders!!!  It can't get much simpler than that!

Thank you Ann for sharing your card with everyone and
Thank you (everyone) for visiting today,

Just Believe Sympathy Card

A while back I had made a card with this image on it from the "Just Believe" stamp set.  It had paper  "Sweet Buttons" on the bottom right side.  Click here to view the card.

Leah was inspired by the card and changed it up a bit.  It is SO much prettier.  I remember making the card and it was SO out of my element and I had struggled a long time with it.  But I did stick with it and finished the card.

Leah used a Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, the "Polka Dot" embossing folder, the "Large Label" punch and the "Word Window" punch to make this card.

The image was done using the Direct to Rubber Technique.  That is where you just color on the rubber stamp with a marker, huff on it and then stamp the image.

She did such a great job with this card.  It's got such a soft and serene look to it.

Thank you Leah for sharing your card with me!

Punch Potpourri Valentine's Day Card

This is such a pretty Valentine's Day card.  Connie had made it for the DIVA Day Shoebox Card Swap.

The heart image is from the "Punch Potpourri" set which is a Level 1 Hostess set.  Unfortunately I don't have that set. I just love the flower with the words on the background.  I may have to search around the catalog to see if I can find a couple of sets I can put together to create this image.   In the "Punch Potpourri" set there is several other images and all 4 of these images match 4 different punches.  How cool is that?

The heart was sponged and the flowers were colored in with chalks.  I have not worked with chalks in a LONG time.  I forgot how fun and easy they are to work with.

The wording came from one of my favorite sets, "Teeny Tiny Wishes."   They were punched out with the "Word Window" punch and the "Scalloped Heart of Hearts" Embosslet Die.

Connie had punched out the little hearts and had them glued in place for us.  She glued them on and then ran the whole thing through the Big Shot using the "Square Lattice" Embossing Folder.

I thought it was such a pretty Valentine's Day card.

Thank you Connie for letting me share your card with everyone!

I think this is the last of the Valentine's Day cards and I have one more little Valentine's Day project and then it's time to move on to the next "season" and other fun projects.  I know with summer coming up some of you would like to see some fun projects for the kids too.  I got that covered!!!  To be notified of the latest posts just sign up on the right side bar just above the hits counter.  Or you can "follow" me on the Google Reader.  Signing up will email you each time I have a new post and the Google Reader keeps them until you read them at your leisure!

Aviary Birthday Card

This has got to me one of my favorite stamp sets, though I have not used it in a while.  I think with spring coming I may be taking it out a lot more.

This card was made at one of our DIVA swaps.  I forgot who had made the card.  I forgot to write inside it too so if it's your card gals, please let me know so I can give you credit.

I remember making this card and how fun it was.  Using clear mount stamps helps you to line things up a bit better because you can see through the block.

A also remember that this card was very easy to make too.  Isn't it a cute birthday card?  I think it would also make a great get well card too!

I've been working on a little project (actually one for myself!!) and I will be sharing it with you in a couple of days.

Thank you mystery DIVA for the fabulous card!!  PLEASE let me know who you are!!

And I thank you for visiting today,
Wanda

Love You Much Valentine's Day Card

This is a card that my friends Ann and Leah were working on Thursday evening at Stamp Till You Cramp night.

This card is full of punched pieces.  The square layers are from the 1-1/4" punch and the 1-3/8" punch.  The hearts punch was used along with the circle punches and the circle scallop punch.

The words in the square are from the "Short & Sweet" stamp set.  I like how they punched it out at angle and set it in the center box. Adding the hearts to the top and bottom box gave that side a nice balance.

The circle image is from the "Love You Much" set.  The image is actually larger and has a scallop around it but they centered the words and punched just that part of the image.

I think they did a great job on this card.  I may have to copy it for our DIVA Day event next Sunday.  The theme for the card is to use punches.  This one uses a lot of punches and the event is before Valentine's Day SOOOO maybe it's one I could use!!! I've been working on some but am not all that thrilled with how it's going.  When and if I finish them I will share them with you.

Thank you Ann and Leah for allowing me to share your fun creation with everyone!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
