Stylin' Snowfolk Candy Bar Wrapper

Ever time a new snowman set comes out I have to try to figure out how to use it on a candy bar wrapper. Cold Play was one of my favorites for doing this and now the Stylin' Snowfolk works too.  It's a lot like the Cold Play set except you get the snowman body.  And this one has a lot more parts for the snowman. You can even make a snowlady!

I like this set for the smaller candy bars.  I used the .45 oz bars for this one.  And since it's so close to Halloween, I was able to get them on sale!!  Ya gotta LOVE that!

I bet you'd like the measurements to the card stock, huh?  Well, I'm more than happy to share them with you so you can make these for your friends, for parties or you can even have the kiddies help you with them for their school friends!

You will need a snowman stamp set and a small chocolate bar, of course.  Then you will need a piece of white card stock cut 3-1/8" wide x 2-7/8" long.

Next you will need to score the card stock.  On the 3-1/8" side you will need to score it at it at 5/8", 1", 2-1/8" and 2-1/2".

Now before you fold the scores, stamp your images.  Then fold the score lines.  Wrap the card stock around the candy.  I glued mine in place.  I also wrapped the card stock around the candy bar tightly which distorted the shape of the rectangle the sleeve creates. But it did help keep the candy bar in there better.  If you don't wrap it tighter it could slip out easy.  The distortion is not that much and you will probably be the only one to notice it.  Now I also wanted to tell you why I used glue instead of tape.  I felt the glue would hold better.  Once you glue it, remove the candy bar and use your bone folder inside to help the glue adhere better and quicker.  Put the candy bar back in and move on to the next one.  I know you'll make more than one!!!

These are fun to make and very simple too!

Have fun with the instructions!

Razzle Box! Weekend Project

This was a very fun box to make. A friend of mine is such a coffee lover and when I was shopping at the dollar store I found this box of Nescafe Taster's Choice coffee packets. They are like the ones you add to your bottled water but a bit longer. And because they were a bit longer I had to fold down the tops of them to get them to fit in the box. 7 packets came in the box but I was only able to fit 4 in the box I made. I used some decorative paper from the Stampin' Up! Razzleberry Lemonade package. I am REALLY loving that paper and it's on my list to re-purchase when it's available!!!

I ran the paper through the Big Shot using the "Bag with Scallops" die cut. I've used that die cut SO much I'm shocked at how sharp it still is!!! After I glued it together I set it aside to dry. I went to my computer to type up the wording. I use to use these words when I was into crafting and was making wall plaques. The plaque was in the shape of an old coffee pot and I would stitch the words on and add real coffee beans and measuring spoon full of coffee beans to the front. It was SO cute and I use to sell a LOT of them!! Anyway, I'd always liked the wording and when I saw that coffee in the store those words came to mind and then I HAD to buy that coffee because I knew what I wanted to do with it!!! Shocking part here is that I remembered what I wanted to do with it!!! LOL

I printed the words out on white card stock and then cut it. I layered a scrap piece of Rich Razzleberry card stock to the back of it. I was going to tape it shut when I realized the scallop looked too plain. What to do, what to do?? I remembered seeing a flower from the Pretties Kit being used under the scallop but sad to say I don't remember where I saw that. I did like the effect it gave. It did look much better against the colors I saw than it does here. But it's still cute here! It's SO girly like!!! I added a rhinestone brad to the scallop and was about to tape it shut when I realized that rhinestone was not quite enough either. SO I picked up a piece of the Rich Razzleberry card stock and poked a hole in it. Then I centered that hole in the 3/4" circle punch and punched it out. I pushed the brad through the hole and then into the scallop flap. I liked the effect and I taped the flap shut. I was going to use velcro but the flower made the flap stick up a bit as it was and velcro would have made it worse. I did use a glue dot and many times with those if you open things slowly it will not rip the paper. But it is better than gluing it!!!

Don't you just LOVE this paper???

This was such a fun and VERY quick project to make too and I know my friend is going to LOVE it!!! This item can be used for so many things, Stamp camp, make & takes, hostess gifts, customer appreciation gifts, open house gifts, friendship gifts, the list goes on and on!!!

Cup of Candy Weekend Project

Here's a fun project I'm going to have to remember to use around Christmas time!!

I was going to buy hubby some wild rice soup at the grocery store. I had taken the cup and a lid and I looked and they did not have wild rice soup that day. SO I could hardly put the cup back in with the other ones. And I REALLY hope that people don't do that after touching them. I had brought it up to the register with me and told the gal why it was empty and I asked her if I could keep it. She looked at me funny and said "sure" with a question in her voice!!! LOL My intentions were to bring it home and put left overs in it for a future lunch for hubby. But then I thought how fun it would be to decorate it.

SO I got out some decorative paper but first I had to make a pattern so I could trace it onto the decorative paper without wasting any of it. The pattern was a bit difficult to make but I managed. And without taking the bowl apart!!! I got the paper cut and taped it in place. It was very simple once I had a pattern. Then I took a stamp from the Stampin' Up! "Oval All" set and used the "Just for You" image. I then punched it out using the scalloped oval punch. I LOVE that punch!!! Then I punched out a very large oval using a Marvy punch I had and same with the larger scallop oval. I sponged the edges of the scallops using Almost Amethyst. The works I stamped using the Almost Amethyst ink pad and then colored the inside of the words and the oval lines using a the black marker. I stamped it on Whisper White card stock and punched it out. I taped the layers together and taped them to the top of the lid of the bowl.

I tied a ribbon around the bowl and filled it with candies. I think these would be a LOT of fun at Christmas time. I'm going to go to The Dollar Tree to see what type of bowls they have with lids. I'm sure I can find something there and they would probably be plastic so they would last a bit longer.

These would also make great center pieces for your Open House when the new catalog comes out!!! Or use paper to match the theme of your even (ie: graduation paper) and place them on the tables as a center piece!! There's LOTS you can do with these!!

Just have fun!!

Decorating the Tree! (Instructions too!)

Here is a tree ornament I made using the (about to retire) "Holiday Tag Team" set. I just LOVE that set. Personally I think Stampin' Up! should talk to me first before they retire something!!! LOL I got the tins from Oriental Trading Company. The item number is 65/90057. You can also get them in the beading section of Joann's. They come in a package of 6. I don't remember how much they were but with the coupon they aren't all that expensive. Under $5 with the coupon!!

I stamped the snowman on Whisper White card stock using black Staz On. I colored it in and then cut it out using the Coluzzle System cutter. I used Crystal Effects to affix it to the inside of the tin. I chose Chrystal Effects because I knew it would give a tight bond. Tape could cause the paper to curl in time and it would also leave gaps where I didn't get enough tape on it. And tape never dries so if any was exactly on the edges it would cause the micro beads to stick there. Once the crystal effects dried I added a heaping teaspoonful of clear micro beads. Then again with the Crystal Effects I ran a little around the bottom outer lip and put the cover on to seal it all up.

I used the Sticky Strip tape around the outside seam. I measured it to go only half way around and then I cut that piece up the middle because it was to wide for the ribbon I was using. I added the red grosgrain ribbon to the sticky tape. I started at the bottom with both raw ends. Match the raw ends together to give the illusion of it being just one piece of ribbon. If you don't like the looks of a seam at the bottom you can cover it with a button or a half pearl from the Pretties Kit. Lay the ribbon all the way up to the top of the ornament. Make sure you get it on fairly straight. You want to accomplish this in one or two tries, more than that and the tape loses it's stickiness and you'll have to reapply it. I had cut my piece of ribbon 12 inches long so that left me a 3 inch loop at the top of my ornament. I tied white grosgrain ribbon near the tin to hid how the loop was made.

There is another way you can tie the ribbon onto your tin without the seam at the bottom. It does require more ribbon. I don't know exactly how much because I don't use this technique very often just because it requires more ribbon and I usually don't make just one of an item. For this technique you will fold the ribbon in half to find center. This center will be at the bottom of your tin. You will still want to add some tape to around the tin to help hold the ribbon on. Tie a knot at the top of the tin. Take something round like your Crystal Effects bottle or a Tacky Glue bottle and tie the ribbon around that too, making a knot and then a bow. Don't tie it too tight, you don't what to have to explain why there is a glue bottle hanging on your tree with the tin!!! LOL And NO, I'm not speaking from experience there!!! REALLY!!!!! After you get the bow ties and the ends trimmed, remove the bottle and your ornament is ready to hang.

These are fun and they make very inexpensive gifts. They do sell well at craft fairs. And they make excellent Stamp Camp items.
