Snowflake Kisses, Calendar Page, Stampin' Up!

WOW! Can you believe this year has come to and end? It seems like it was a long year but yet it seemed like it went fast. Maybe it's just that since Halloween it seemed like the time went fast!  Anyway, it's the last day of the year and I'm one day ahead of myself! Nice way to end the year, huh? I have my January 2026 calendar page ready. I'm a bit disappointed in it but this one was a learning experience. Please read on to see how it was made.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock for the base.

My calendar page came from a little tablet of calendars I had gotten at the Dollar Tree. It's so odd but there's 3 copies of each month. The calendars come with a little note pad too. I trim the calendar backing down and I punch 2 holes in it so I can hang it from my little command hook by my worktable.

I wanted to make calendar pages like I did last year (lost interest in July) so I thought I'd use one of the duplicate pieces to do it.

I'm saying this was a learning experience because I know for next month what I need to do to make it better.

I will put the calendar on top of an 1/8" layer of card stock. Here Balmy Blue or Highland Heather would be pretty.  And for the upper part I think I would also have a layer but it would probably still be white. It just looks too empty up there.  Though it will depend on the images I use whether it will need a layer or not. But the calendar itself definitely needs a layer. And this is how we learn.

My snowflakes are die cut from the "Snowflake Kisses" bundle. I took a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and using my blending brush I lightly scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink and then some Pretty in Pink on top of that and then a little Highland Heather for a tiny bit more purple.  I cut them out and then just glued them in place.  Not one of my finer pieces of work but it's January and here in Minnesota, we have snow and we have cold and the cold allows us to keep the snow, even if we are SO done with it.  We just got 5" in our backyard two days ago and there was a dusting today.  And now it's going to get cold again.  But on the bright side, in a couple of months the snow will be melting and spring will be here! LOL I do love the snow but have been disappointed the last few years because it's not snowman snow and I love making a snowman. Maybe next year!

I hope you all have some great memories of 2025 and I wish the best for you in the New Year,
Wanda

Simply Said, Extraordinary Floral Washi Tape, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. One can never have enough birthday cards on hand, can they? I saw this card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. I have a lot of the "Extraordinary Floral" Washi tape left so why not? You can see the original card by clicking here. There was no link attached to it and no name of who made it so I guessed at how it was put together. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I took a whole section of the Washi tape and burnished it onto the right side of the piece. I had pulled it up and removed it several times. It made wrinkles in the Washi tape doing that but I was amazed at how easy it was to smooth them out just using my bone folder. Go slowly and go over it several times and all of a sudden every wrinkle was gone!  It's not like I pressed the whole thing in place, I worked on the outside edge and after a few attempts I got it to go straight along the edge of the card stock.  I trimmed off the right side a bit and then the left side so it measured 4" there. And from top to bottom it was trimmed to 5-1/4".

The embossed flowers are from the "Glass Garden" folders set. I trimmed it to 2" x 5-1/4" after I embossed it.  I glued it to the left side of the card stock with the Washi tape on it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had some flowers and leaves already cut from the Washi tape roll.  They were left over from other times when I'd cut a full strip.  The die covers the full strip so you get a lot of pieces in one cut.  I didn't have the rose but pieces because I needed several of them on a prior card and I was left with a lot of other pieces. I just pop them in a little zip bag and hang onto them till I need them.  So on my card I added two smaller flowers and a long leaf image under them in place of the rose buds.  It's still pretty this way. I had taken the large flower and added Dimensionals to the back. I used my silicone mat and slipped the pieces under the large flower. Some pieces were pretty loose but once I got them together I added glue to the back and then set the piece in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a 1/2" 3-1/8" piece of Basic Beige card stock. I wasn't sure if the piece was Basic Beige or Soft Sea Foam, either one will work. I had a scrap piece of Basic Beige so I thought I'd use it.  I set the word piece in place using some small glue dots on the right and glue on the left. I didn't think the glue would stick well on top of the Washi tape.  I also added a few small glue dots to the green leaves that crossed over from the flower cluster to the Washi sheet.

For a final touch I added a little flower using a small Dimensional and the card was done.

It's SO pretty. How could you not want to make one?

Thank you SO very much for stopping in and seeing today's birthday card,
Wanda

Friendly Foliage, Everyday Arches, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I just loved the layout and I had the set so I thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package. I taped that to the front of the card.

Using a piece of Basic White card stock and the 4th largest die from the "Everyday Arches" set I cut the piece and taped it on top of the DSP.

The framed flower image is from the "Friendly Foliage" bundle. I stamped the image using Lost Lagoon ink. I also stamped the small leaf image from the set on a separate piece of Basic White card stock. On the larger piece, I affixed it to a piece from the "Foam Adhesive Sheets" package. I trimmed off any excess sticky parts showing so it doesn't mess up my embossing machine.  The bundle has two dies that go on top of this image. One to cut the outside part and the other to cut the inside. I used post it tape to hold down the piece to cut it out.  Terri has a video on how to cut the piece nicely.  You can see that video by clicking  here. And by the way, her card is stunning.  It's so popular that when you look for "Friendly Foliage" on Pinterest, her card pops up! She gives some great tips on how to cut this out.

Once cut out I removed the backing and set the piece in place about 1/4" from the bottom of the arched piece.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the smallest arched die in the set. I used glue on the left side and a Dimensional on the right side and set the piece in place.

I added glue to the bottom area of the little leaf piece and set it in place on the small arched piece.

I had some retired "Faceted Dots" and added them to the front of the card and the card was done.

I'm pleased with the way this card turned out and I really like this layout.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,
Wanda

The Right Words, Brushed With Beauty, Sympathy Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm trying to get back into the swing of my everyday life. I find it a bit difficult to do after the holidays. I often pre-post my cards so I have the holidays off. Then when it's over I head to my workroom and I feel a bit lost.  I don't feel so much lost this time as I do overwhelmed at the mess I left my worktable in!  I guess some major cleaning up is in store for the week. It will take me that long to clean it up because, well there's another holiday in there with entertaining friends and when I clean in my workroom I tend to watch/play a movie on either Pluto tv or Tubi and when there's a commercial I get up and clean up something.  It's amazing how much stuff you can get done during a commercial! They're not just for getting snacks and bathroom breaks anymore!  LOL. I will let you know how my workroom looks at the end of the week! Wish me luck!  So onto today's card, I have a sympathy card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Very Vanilla card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-3/4" x 3-3/8" piece of Mossy Meadow for the back layer.

On top of that layer on the left I taped a 1" x 4" strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed With Beauty" 12" x 12" package. On the upper right I cut a 1-3/4" x 2" piece from the same package of DSP.  And on the bottom right I cut a 1-1/2" x 2" piece of the same DSP.

I taped this piece to the card base.

The word piece measures 1-3/8" x 2-3/4" and was cut from a scrap piece of Very Vanilla card stock. I stamped the words from "The Right Words" set using Mossy Meadow ink. This set is probably going to be retiring because it's made with the red rubber and Stampin' Up! is going to be going to all clear vinyl in the new year.  Anyway, once the words were stamped I cut a 1-5/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock and taped the two pieces together.  Please note that the right edge of the word piece lines up with the right edge of the layer. It's not centered on the Mossy Meadow layer.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the opening that is created between the upper and lower pieces of DSP. You don't have to be perfect in setting this piece on. You just need to make sure it covered both side layers of the DSP.

I added a brass butterfly to give it a little bling. I didn't want a lot of bling but just enough to keep the card looking simple.  And that was it.

This layout is a perfect way to use up those scraps in your packages of DSP! What I like best about this card is that it has a large back piece that creates the illusion of having lots of layers.  How fun is that?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's sympathy card,
Wanda

Birthday Treats Mix & Match Ephemera, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm working on getting all of the Christmas stamps, papers and embellishments off my worktable. It's such a mess. I have a very small space to create but it seems to be comfortable to me! LOL But this coming week the table is getting all cleaned off and cleaned up. There's so many little bits of tape on it that have collected paper dust that they are no longer sticky. Which is a good thing but not a clean and tidy thing. In cleaning up some of the larger stuff I ran across the "Birthday Treats" Mix & Match ephemera package so I thought I'd make a birthday card using one of my favorite layouts for smaller images. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Peach Pie. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside.

I cut a 3-1/2" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic White for the layer.

A 3" x 4-1/8" piece of Timid Tiger was cut for the solid layer and a 2-7/8" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Subtles" 6" x 6" stack was cut for the top layer.

I took a little bit of tape and lined up the DSP on top of the Timid Tiger piece. The tape is to hold the piece in place so I can cut the holes. I used a 1-1/4" circle punch to punch through both lined up pieces. Then I took the punched piece of DSP and placed a piece of scrap copier paper behind it and used my 1-3/8" circle punch to punch out a ring. I lined the punch up so I could get the ring evenly spaced. Once punched I taped the two pieces together.

I set the two layers on top of the Basic White piece so I could see where the opening would go. Then I took my blending brush and inked it up with some Balmy Blue ink and scrubbed it on that area.

I needed some ribbon but didn't have any of the in colors so I took a retired piece of Pumpkin Pie grosgrain ribbon and wrapped the ends around the piece. I centered it between the bottom of the circle and the bottom edge of the layers. I taped the ends to the back using scotch tape.  Dimensionals were added all over the back piece and small ones around the opening. I set the piece in place on top of the Basic White piece and then that was taped on top of the card base.

The words are also from the "Birthday Treats" pack and were set in place using Dimensionals.

The cute little cupcake is from the same pack and it too was set in place using Dimensionals.  And that was it.

I love how just a layered circle opening can make a small image the focal point of the card.  This is a fun and easy card to make too.  Depending on the DSP used on the front determines whether or not I will use ribbon alone, ribbon with words or just words.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Impressions Abloom, Simply Said, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  I was looking for a quick card to make so I could get back to some more celebrating. Not Christmas but a birthday. Today is my hubby's birthday and I like to keep the celebration to his day and not merged with Christmas. So I found a quick card that I wanted to make. There was no link to any instructions so I had to wing it. So, please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold was on the left.

I cut a 5" x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock and I colored it using Pretty Pink ink and my blending brush. Once I got the color on the piece, I textured it using the "Exposed Brick" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Next I cut out three flowers and three flower centers using Basic White card stock from the "Impressions Abloom" bundle.

Using Pretty in Pink card stock I cut the leaves from the same bundle.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Pecan Pie ink on a 2-3/4" x 1/2" piece of Basic White card stock.

I glued the centers to the flowers and added Dimenisonals to the back. I set the flowers in place.

Glue was added to the ends of the leaves and they were set in place under the flowers.

I tied a double bow using Baker's Twine. I added a little bit of glue and set the bow in place.

Dimensionals were added behind the word piece and it was set in place on the front of the card on top of the bow.

I added a small brass butterfly and the card was done.

This was such a pretty card and I don't feel I did it justice. I like the original card better. I may have to try this in Highland Heather or Cloud Cover and see if I can make it so I like it better.

Okay, off to celebrate the husband's birthday.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to you and yours. I hope you are having a wonderful day filled with fun, loved ones and memories.

I do not usually make a card for Christmas day, I post the card we sent out to our friends and family.

My card was made using AI. I had a lot of fun creating this card and when I got it to look like what was in my head I saved it and sized it for my cards.

I used some retired card stock to make my layers.

I printed the words on my computer using the RGB codes to get the color to match.

I used a retired snowflake embossing folder for the background.

I made it my way and I put them together and I actually got them out in the first week of this month! Yay me! It's usually later in the month that I get them out.  I was actually organized this year. Presents wrapped on time (not last minute). I ordered cookies because I didn't want to bake and we didn't need a lot of cookies sitting around here. I kept it simple and I kept on top of things so I get to really enjoy the season.

May this Christmas season be a good one for you.

Merry Christmas,
Wanda

Greetings for You, Christmas Tags & More, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today as I was trying to tidy up my work area and putting away the Christmas papers and stamp sets I ran across some Designer Series Paper (DSP) pieces from the "Christmas Tags & More" 6" x 6" stack. They already had Dimenisonals on the back. I must have been going to use them on a card and changed my mind or they got lost in the mess!  Anyway, I thought I would use them for one final Christmas creation before packing it all away.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Garden Green card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued the piece in place on the front of the card.

The three pieces of the DSP are from one sheet. There's 6 different designs on the sheet. I had put Dimensionals behind the tree and candy cane.  I just don't remember where I was going with those when I did that.  So what I did was I measured the pieces and they are 2" x 3" each.  I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to measure 5" x 2-1/4".  I found center of the Basic White piece (2-1/2") and center of the center rectangle (1") and I taped the piece down.

I removed the Dimensionals from the other two pieces and set them in place eyeing equal space from the top and outsides.  I glued this piece in place by centering it on the card as much as I could by eyeing it.

The words are from the "Greetings for You" mix & match ephemera package.  I removed the backing on the ends (one end I had to trim the backing off and I set the piece in place on top of the rectangles and the card was done.

This was super easy and quick and it's going in my Christmas card stash for next year.

Now to get ready for company. I'm pre-posting this a few hours in advance because I will be busy with family for some fun, food and gift exchanging.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas eve,
Wanda

Snowflake Kisses, Gift Holder Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a wintry gift card to share with you. I found the card on Pinterest but I changed it to be a gift card. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. It was cut on the short side so it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and 8-3/4".  I folded the flap inward so it forms the pocket for the gift card.

Using the corner snowflake die in the "Snowflake Kisses" bundle I cut the left side of the front of the card first and then I moved the die to the right corner of the front of the card. Make sure you open the card up all the way or you will cut through to the pocket.

Once the snowflakes were cut I cut a piece of Basic White card stock to put behind it. It 4-1/8" x 3-1/8".  This doesn't leave much room for gluing. And when you glue, be mindful of the edges. Use the glue sparingly or it could come out the sides or the snowflakes. I thought this was the most difficult part of the card.

Now that the Basic White piece was glued in place I took a 1-1/4" circle punch and punched the niche in the top part of the pocket to make getting the gift card easier to get out.  Then the sides of the pocket were glued.  I set this aside to set up. Oh, if you don't have a circle punch, a circle die will work or anything that will make the niche.

In the meantime I stamped the words from the "Snowflake Kisses" bundle using Night of Navy ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the smallest die in the "Branching Out" set. I used the next size larger to cut out a Balmy Blue piece. I taped the two together.  I set it on the front of the card to see where it looked the best. Centered seemed to be good. I held the word piece in place and made a little mark with my fingernail so I didn't go past it with my Dimensionals. I added the Dimensionals and set the piece in place.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside. I took the laage snowflake that was leftover from cutting out the ones on the front. It's not a whole snowflake so I had to glue it to the edge.

For a final touch I added some crystal rhinestones and the gift holder card was done.

I can't believe how quickly these gift holder cards are to make. Not only quick but simple too!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's gift card holder card,
Wanda

Snowflake Kisses, Wintry Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a wintry card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Cloud Cover card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock.

On the Basic White piece I stenciled the snowflake from the "Snowflake Kisses" bundle.  I used the #1 stencil and Cloud Cover ink.

The bundle also has snowflake dies, lots of them. I used the one that cut out these four. I cut them from Cloud Cover card stock. I glued them in place on the front of the card.

I stamped the words from the same set using Cloud Cover ink.

Pearls were added to the snowflakes and the card was done.

This was a simple and quick card to make. I love snow. Not that I'm wishing for any more of it here in Minnesota, though we did lose half of it over the last week due to rain and warmer days (with even warmer days ahead).

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's wintry card,

Birthday Treats Mix & Match, Simply Said, Everyday Arches, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Subtles" 6" x 6" stack.  I taped it to the front of the card.

Next I die cut the arch using a piece Basic White card stock and the 4th largest die in the "Everyday Arches" set.

Using a blending brush and Pretty in Pink ink I scrubbed on some color.

The cake and candles are from the "Birthday Treats" Mix & Match ephemera pack.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.  I did color the candles using Daffodil Delight for the flames and Balmy Blue for the candles. I set the piece in place on top of the arched piece.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the arched piece and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1" up from the bottom.  I needed to leave room for the words.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. The piece measured 2-3/8" x 3/8".  Dimenisonals were added to the back and it was set in place under the arched piece.

I added a few pearls and the card was done.

This was a very quick card to make. The "Birthday Treats" package has a lot of pieces to play with. I am planning another birthday card using one of my favorite layouts, so stay tuned!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,

Simply Said, Peaceful Gardens, Gift Card Holder, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a simple birthday card to share with you. It's actually a gift card or money holder.  I used the pattern I had in a post from back in 2022. You can see that post and card by clicking here. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of this card is a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Cloud Cover card stock.  It does not open, it's just the base.

A 7-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the holder. It's scored at 2-1/4" x 6".  Both scores are folded towards the center of the piece.

The bottom 2-1/4" fold is glued on the side edges. This is the pocket for the gift card or money.

Next came the Designer Series Paper. I was trying to find some current masculine papers because my card is for my hubby who happens to have a birthday the day after Christmas.  The DSP is from the "Peaceful Gardens" 12" x 12" package.  I thought it was the most masculine in colors and looks that I had on hand that was current.

The top piece was cut at 4-3/4" x 2" and the bottom is cut at 4-3/4" x 1-1/2". I taped the two pieces on the open spaces.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I cut them out using the 2nd and 3rd largest stitched rectangle dies from the "Nested Essentials" set.  I taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the upper part and I set it in place on the front of the card.

I was looking for the "Peaceful Days" sticker sheet I had purchased but have misplaced. I know it's got some leaves or hearts on it that I could use to dress up the piece a bit. But for now it's going to have to remain plain.

I love using this layout for gift cards. It's quick and easy and with the right papers it can be beautiful too!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Thoughtful Moments, Sunflower Embossing Folder, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy card to share with you and it's not a Christmas card! I found it on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Sunflower" embossing folder. I glued this to the front of the card. I found that glue worked better than tape because there isn't enough flat spots to hold this down with tape.

Next I stamped and cut the words using the "Thoughtful Moments" set. You ink up the embossing folder, add the die cutting plate to it and then run it through your Big Shot and it will stamp and cut at the same time. It does the whole folder of words so you have a lot on hand to use in a pinch.  I used Black Memento ink, inked up the folder. I added the die cut plate and then my piece of card stock. I ran it through my Big Shot and I had my word piece for this card.

I added Dimensionals behind the word piece and then set it in place on the front of the card.

A few pearls were added and the card was done.

This was such a super quick card to make. I think it took me longer to type up this post than it did to make the card!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,

Petals of Beauty, Simply Said, Note Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog.  Today I do NOT have a Christmas card to share with you!  Though there is one more that I REALLY want to make and then I'll be moving on. It's almost Christmas so it's about time to wrap up the Christmas cards. Though I like to send out a lot and can never seem to have enough Christmas cards.  Anyway, let's move on to today's card.  It's a very fun fold and I spent a LOT of time trying to figure out the template.  Fortunately for you I am adding that template so you can make it.  So, please read on to see how I made my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-13/8" piece of Very Vanilla card stock for the largest layer.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Brushed with Beauty" 12" x 12" package.  I taped it to the Very Vanilla piece and then taped that to the card base. Before I moved on I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Very Vanilla card stock and taped it to the inside.

For the fan or arrow (which is it?) type fold I worked for about an hour trying to get it the right size and get the scoring right. Several times I didn't mark the right spot and messed it up. Fortunately I was working with scrap copier paper and didn't feel bad about having to put it in recycling but I did get frustrated with the mistakes.  Anyway, after all is said and one I now have a template and I also made my copier paper 3D card so I can add it to my layouts.  I do plan to make another card using this layout (now that I have it simplified).

I cut my DSP for the fan/arrow piece at 4-3/4" x 2-1/2".  I marked the lower sides at 1/4". This is a cut line, not a fold line.  The next 4 lines are score lines. Measure from the upper corner to 1-1/4" on both corners.  Mark the bottom center edge of the piece. You will be scoring to this mark on all for lines.

Now to score from the corners to the center and then from the 1-1/4" mark to the center.  Cut away the bottom 1/4" to the center on each side.

To fold the pieces, do one side at a time. Fold the score line that was marked at 1-1/4", folding the rest of the card stock to the back.  Then score the corner to center line towards the front and repeat for the other side.  You will need to snip off those triangles (as seen in the pic - with a paper clip to hold it for the pic).  Don't worry about the tips not being sharp, they will be hidden. But you do want sharp edges on the folds.

The pieces needed to be glued together so it stays closed.  You are going to have to make two of these.

The snipped end will be lined up at the bottom and the top of the card front and taped or glued in place.

I cut two open leaves from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle, one is Very Vanilla and the other is Mossy Meadow. It's a long die and I needed to clip off the last two leaves. I did use a Very Vanilla one on the top and I added the other piece (Mossy Meadow) to the bottom area.  I had trimmed the edges of the leaf where the longer piece was cut from. I taped the ends of these pieces in place.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink on a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  I cut it out using the 4th square die in the "Stylish Shapes" set.  If you don't have the set you can cut the card stock at 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" and then cut the Mossy Meadow layer at 1-5/8" x 1-5/8".  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card.

I added a few crystal rhinestones to the front and the card was done.

I hope you have fun playing with this layout!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's note card,

Layers of Beauty, Note Card, Stampin' Up! The Good, The Bad and the Ugly!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a mess to share with you. I call cards like this "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" because I share them all with you.  (lucky you!  LOL). Please read on to see what happened.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Designs" embossing folder.  I glued it to the front of the card.

I needed a note card so I stamped the words from the "Simply Said" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 4th circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set and I set it aside.

Next I stamped the floral image from the "Layers of Beauty" bundle using black Memento ink in Basic White card stock.  What's fun about this bundle is it has stencils.  The stencils are numbered so you can use them in order and get the perfect shading and blending. I used my blending brushes for this. The colors I used are Bubble Bath, Petunia Pop and Berry Burst for stencils 1-3. And for the greenery I used Old Olive on both stencils 4 and 5.  I cut the piece out using the matching die. But before I cut the piece I put it back in my Stamparatus/MISTI to stamp it again to darken the lines.  I often use that to stamp images and words. Sometimes my ink pads aren't always moist enough and I have to stamp the image several times to get a nice dark and crisp image.  Anyway, I put the card stock back on the Stamparatus/MISTI and stamped over the flowers again. I really was hoping for some nice dark sharp lines.  I had put the piece in with the top being the bottom and I stamped. I ruined all of that stenciling.  UGH.  SO I though, maybe if I texture it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder it won't look so bad.  It didn't help.  I cut the piece out anyway and went ahead with the card to show you that I often make mistakes but most of the time you never see them.  So today's ugly card is here for the world to see!  I'll probably send it to my sister, she might not even notice all the lines on it!  LOL

Thank you SO very much for sticking with me on this one!

Christmas Tags & More, Greetings for You Ephemera, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. It's hard to believe it's only 8 days away. I do promise I will not be showing you 8 more Christmas cards in the upcoming days. Maybe one or two but not 8!  Anyway, please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder.

A 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Christmas Tags & More" 6" x 6" package was taped to the left side of the card.  I think the "& More" is all the fun DSP that's in this package.

The wreath is from the same "Christmas Tags & More" package.  And the "Joy" in the center is from the "Greetings for You Mix & Match Ephemera" package.  It's a sticker and I actually removed the backing this tie and stuck it to the center of the wreath.

I took some thin gold thread and wrapped it around my fingers 6 times. Using a large glue dot I stuck the thread to it and set it aside while I added Dimensionals to the back of the round wreath piece. Once the backing was removed on the Dimensionals I set the thread in place on the back and then I set it in place on the front of the card.

A bow was added from the same "Christmas Tags & More" package. I cut tiny pieces of Dimensionals and added it to the back and then set the bow in place.

There are some holly leaves in the "Christmas Tags & More" package and I took one and glued it to the bottom right corner of the card.

I thought the card could use some bling but I wasn't sure what to add. I ended up adding a bit of glue to the center of the hollies and sprinkled ultra fine red glitter on them.  And that was it, the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I have lots of pieces left in both of those package and I will probably be making more Christmas cards until it's used up.  I need to make 2026 a year that I actually use up stuff! Wouldn't that be a great accomplishment?  It would be for me. Wish me luck!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Traditions of Christmas, Jolly Holly, Season's of Elegance, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. When I was looking at my stuff to see what to make, I came across the images I had already fussy cut. Well, you can't let them. just sit there after the time invested in cutting them. So, I just had to make a Christmas card. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I textured 2" of the right side using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder.  Once that was textured I taped a 1-1/2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Seasons of Elegance" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the left side leaving about 1/4" on the top, bottom and the fold side.

Next the large floral image had been fussy cut from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package of DSP.  I set it in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals. I sort of centered it.  It's at an angel so it's difficult to tell if it's centered but it looked okay to my eyes so I pressed down on the image to make it stick. I said that because when placing items on my card I just lay them lightly in case I have to move them a bit. Once you press down on it you're kind of stuck with where it lands.

Once the large piece was in place, the leaves were glued on. They were cut from a piece of DSP from the "Seasons of Elegance" package using the die from the "Christmas Greenery" bundle.  I do not have the dies in this bundle but I was given a few leaves to play with.

I had fussy cut one of the flowers that were on the piece of DSP that the large piece was on. I didn't want to waste the images! It's not like it was partially on the sheet. It was a whole flower with leaves after all! What would you do? I glued this piece to the lower right corner.

The words are from an older Paper Pumpkin kit and were stamped using black Memento ink on a piece of Basic White card stock and were cut out using the die from the "Stylish Shapes" set.

A few embellishments were added and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I am very happy with the way it turned out. You never know what you're going to get when you have pieces in front of you and no plan.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Simply Said, More Messages, Petals of Beauty, Beautiful Gallery, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Once again I opted not to make a Christmas card, though I saw one that I think I need to make and I'll save that for tomorrow (maybe!).  I found this one on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  I changed it a little so I could use the products I had on hand.  There was no link to the card so I had to guess at how it was made. Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Beige card stock. A color I don't often use at all. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and taped it to the inside.

The floral piece was cut next. It's from the "Beautiful Gallery" 6" x 6" stack.  I cut it out using the third rectangle die in the "Textured Notes" set.  I taped it to the front of the card about 1/2" from the fold and 1/2" from the top edge.

Next I cut the circle using the largest die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. It was cut from Crumb Cake card stock and taped to the front of the card about 1/8" from the right edge and 1/2" from the bottom.

The leaves are from the "Petals of Beauty" bundle and were cut from a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock. I added tape to the leaves and set it in place on the circle.

Then I tied a linen bow and set it in place on the center of the circle using a glued dot.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink. I used the die from the "More Messages" bundle. I just cut the entire shapes (it's all on one die) using Basic Beige card stock.  I took the one that would fit best with my words and then stamped the words on top of it.  Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I had one tan-ish "Candy Dot" left so I thought I'd add it to the bottom right area of the circle. And the card was done.

This was such a quick and easy card to make. It's a fun layout and it's got a warm feel to it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thinking of you card,
Wanda

Peaceful Garden, Friendly Foliage, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd take a break from using my Christmas sets and Designer Series Paper (DPS) and make a get well card. My stash is pretty low. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original by clicking here.  I clicked through from the original but there were no instructions, so I winged it. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Basic White card stock for the large layer. I textured it using the "Beautiful Pattern" embossing folder. Strong tape was used to set it in place on top of the card base.

Next, using Lost Lagoon ink on a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Basic White card stock, I stamped the image from the "Friendly Foliage" bundle. Then using the die in that bundle I cut the center of the image out.

A 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of DSP from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package was used for the background image. I guess I did use some Christmas paper here but it doesn't look like it or have the feel of Christmas.  Anyway, I taped that to a 2-3/4" x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it. It's not important though because the stamped greens image will be covering it.

Dimensionals were added to the stamped greens image and it was set on top of the layer with the DSP on it.  I centered it on the layer as much as I could by eyeing it. I often turn my pieces over to get a better view of where they are going to end up and then I set them in place.

A 3-1/8" x 4-5/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the next layer. I taped the greens layers on top of that. Dimensionals were added to the back of it and it was set in place on the front of the card. Again, I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it. Plus I had the dots from the embossed piece as a guide.

I added two "Brushed Brass Butterflies to the front and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I LOVE all of the layers.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's get well card,
Wanda

Traditions of Christmas, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super easy Christmas card to share with you. I found it on the internet and you can see the original card by clicking here.  It will open to a new window so you can easily make it back here.  Please read on to see how I put this card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Secret Sea. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and taped to the inside.

On the front a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and then textured using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) used here is from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I cut the strip that measures 4" x 1-1/4".  I glued that to the center of the card. It's about 2-1/8" from the top edge and 2-1/8" from the bottom edge.

The poinsettia design piece was cut at 2-3/4" x 4" and taped to a 3" x 4-1/4" piece of Secret Sea card stock. Dimenisonals were added to the back and the piece was centered on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle and were stamped using black Memento ink. I punched them out using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch.  Dimensionals were added to the back and it was centered on the front of the card.

I tied a red bow, using some ribbon I had on hand and using a glue dot I set the bow in place.

I added a crystal rhinestone, that I colored using my dark Cherry Cobbler Blends pen, to the word piece and the card was done.

My card is a little different than the original one but it's close enough!  I used what I had on hand to create mine.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Christmas Tags & More, Greetings for You Ephemera, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder.   I glued the piece on top of the card base.

Next I cut the rectangle images from a single sheet in the "Christmas Tags & More" 6" x 6" stack.  There's 6 of them on one sheet. They measure 2" x 3".  I cut a piece of Garden Green card stock for each layer. It measures 1-1/4" x 3-1/4". I taped the layers together.  Then I glued them to the front of the card. The first one is about 1/2" from the fold and the top edge and the candy cane one is about 1-1/8" from the fold and the top edge.

The words are from the "Greetings for You" ephemera package and I actually removed the backing of them this time and affixed it to a scrap piece of Garden Green card stock. I trimmed around the edges (not so well). Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the lower part of the card. It's about 1/2" from the bottom edge and the upper right tip is about 3/8" from the right edge.

I added a few goldish tone rhinestones and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make.  And there's several more sheets in that package so when I get done here I'm going to put them together to make a few more cards.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Christmas Tags & More, Greetings for You Ephemera, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy Christmas card to share with you. I'm trying to use up some of the products I purchased but when I open some of the Designer Series Papers (DSP) there's sheets with sections on them. UGH!  That means more cards! LOL. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White care stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White cared stock for the textured layer. I had textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder. I glued it to the front of the card.

Next I took a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP from the "Christmas Tags & More" and glued it to the left side on top of the embossed piece.

Then I cut the tree from the sheet of 6 designs.  It measures 2" x 3". I layered it to a 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" piece of Garden Green card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the lower part of the card about1/2" up from the bottom and 1" from the sides.

The words are from the "Greetings for You" ephemera pack and were set in place using Dimensionals and that was it. Super quick. Super easy.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Traditions of Christmas, Peace on Earth, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a super quick Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Peaceful Greens" embossing folder. I glued that to the front of the card base.

Next I cut the two shapes that match the shape from the embossing folder. It's covered up here but the dies are in the "Piece on Earth" die set. I cut the large one using Basic White card stock and the small one was using Real Red card stock. I taped these two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place over the embossed shape.

I had to fussy cut my flowers from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DPS).  Dimensionals were added to the back of this piece and it was set in place on top of the two layers.

I didn't add any ribbon or threads. I just kept it plain because I liked that clean look.

This was a super easy and quick card to make and I like how simple it looks.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Traditions of Christmas, Greetings for You Ephemera, Arrow Fold Technique, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun card to share with you. It's called an "Arrow Fold" or "Fan Fold". Not quite sure why the word fold is in it, there's nothing folded except for the usual center of the card.  Anyway, that's what it's called. It's pretty easy to do but there's a lot of pieces to it.  For all the exact measurements and some tips, please check out the video where I found this layout at.  You can see it by clicking here.  I'm having you go there because it's a bit difficult to describe the pieces. Please read on because I do have some tips for you.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. I accented with Pool Party card stock. I did put a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock on the inside and I added a piece of Basic White that was trimmed at an angle for the inside.

On the front I used the "Traditions of Christmas" Designer Series Paper (DPS).

When I cut the pieces for the large triangle's layers, I made sure I cut from the left upper corner to the bottom lower corner. I kept that orientation for all of the pieces that needed to be cut from corner to corner. If you switch orientation, the pieces won't lay right and you'll have to start over.

The pieces for the small arrow are done the same.

When taping or gluing the arrows in place, I lined it up where I wanted it to be. I started by holding the pointed end in the bottom left corner and pivoting the piece till the upper tip touched the top edge of the front of the card base.  I held it firmly and used my fingernail to make a mark so I knew where not to add tape.  I did that for both the large and small arrows.

The words are from the "Greetings for You" mix & match ephemera package. I used the second to the last stitched circle in the "Stylish Shapes" set to cut the Real Red layer. I actually removed the backing from the word piece this time and stuck it to the Real Red circle. Oh my, you really need to be exact with setting that in place because you only have one shot at it. The sticky backing is SUPER sticky! Mine is a little off but it's close enough. I did add Dimensionals to the back of the layers and set it in place on the bottom of the card.  This is going to go to someone very special because a card like this is very time consuming and should go to someone who appreciates the effort that goes into making it!

Before I started my card I cut two sheets of copier paper (I have a stack of scrap- used copier paper). I cut them both in half and then I cut three of those in half again.  I the half sheet was folded in half to form a card base. As I was watching the video I cut the pieces from copier paper so I got a feel of what I was doing and how it was going to go together.  I was glad I did that because when I went to make the actual card it went together so quick and easy.  The issue I had was how to decorate the front. I wanted the DSP to speak for most of the card but I needed some wording. That's when I thought the "Joy" would be perfect for that little space and it was.

This was a fun card to make and since I made one of copier paper I have it for my stack of 3D samples for future reference.  I also mark the date I posted the card using that layout so I can look back to refresh my memory and maybe get some more inspiration. I find those 3D copier paper "cards" handy.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,

Traditions of Christmas, Greetings for You Ephemera, Gift Card Holder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another gift card holder Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

I made a gift card holder a couple of days ago and since I needed another one I thought I would change the orientation. You can see the one from the other day by clicking here.

The base of my card is a half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. It was cut in half on the short side so once cut it measures 4-1/4" x 11".  I scored it at 5-1/2" and 8-3/4".  I folded the piece in half and then the shorter scored line was folded inward to form the pocket. You will need to burnish the edges to make those folds very sharp.

I took a circle punch and punched out about 1/4" sliver on the edge of the pocket to make it easy to get the card or money in and out.

Once the piece was punched I glued the sides. I set it aside for the sides to set up.

Meanwhile I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the inside.  I also cut a 4" x 3" piece of Basic White for the top layer of the front of the card.

On top of the Basic White layer I cut a 3-3/4" x  2-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Traditions of Christmas 12" x 12" package for the top layer. I taped these two layers together and then taped to the front of the card.

The circles were cut from the "Stylish Shapes" set using the 3rd largest for the Cherry Cobbler layer and the 4th largest for the gold foil layer. I taped these two pieces together.

The words are from the "Greetings for You" mix & match ephemera pack.  It's a sticker but I left the backing on and added Dimensionals. I affixed it to the Cherry Cobbler circle.

The circles were lined up on the front of the card for placement. I took my fingernail and ran it across the back of the circle where it would be covering the folded edge of the pocket.  This way I knew not to go below that mark with my tape or I'd end up taping the card shut.

I taped the Basic White piece to the inside and the card was done.  You can see what the pocket looks like by viewing the other card I made. You can click here to see that.

These gift card holders are so quick and easy to make and pretty too.  It's kind of like a hidden pocket.  A card with a surprise.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas gift card holder,
Wanda

Traditions of Christmas, Jolly Holly, Simply Said, Holiday Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I'm trying to get back into the swing of things after being out of town for a few days.  It was good to get away but it's better being at home. I'm such a homebody and I love to be indoors. You can tell by my lily white complexion! Almost transparent!  LOL. Anyway, I'm back home, inside and working on a new card to share with you. I have a friend who has a December birthday so I thought I'd use a holiday theme on it. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Jolly Holly" embossing folder.  I glued that to the front of the card base. I set it under my stamping mat to add a little pressure to it while I worked on other parts of the card.

Next I took my "Everyday Arches" dies and using the second largest one I cut a piece of gold foil paper. Then I took the 3rd largest and cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Traditions of Christmas" 12" x 12" package.  I used some strong tape and taped it to the gold foil piece.

I cut off the left side so the piece measures 2-3/4". I was going to see if I could just cut it in half and get two cards out of the piece but it looked just like I was trying to get two cards out of it.  So cutting it to  2-3/4" make it look like you meant to do that!  I glued that piece to the front of the card about 3/8" from the bottom.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped in what looks like Gorgeous Grape. It was left inside my stamp set with the Dimensionals already on it so I thought I'd use it. The colors go well with the DSP so I decided to just use it up.  I set in in place about 1-1/4" from the bottom edge of the card and the bottom edge of the word piece. And that was it.

This was a fun card to make and I like the arch cut like that. It makes for a different layout (one I'd never done before) and a totally different look.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's holiday birthday card,
Wanda

Peace On Earth, Greetings For You Mix & Match Ephemera, Gift Card Holder, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a gift card holder card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. Use Secret Sea if you have it. I went with the black because I have more of it than I do of the Secret Sea.  Once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".

I scored it at 5-1/2" and 8-3/4".  I folded the card in half and then I folded the next score inward. Before gluing the sides down I marked center on the edge and I took a 1-1/4" circle punch and punched out about a half circle but a little less. You can cut how deep you want. You just need it deep enough so you can pull the gift card out.  I set it aside so the glue could set up.

Meanwhile I cut the top piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package.  It was cut at 3" x 4".

Then I cut the label pieces using the dies from the "Peace on Earth" bundle. I cut the larger one using Basic Black card stock and the smaller one using Basic White card stock.  I also cut a dove from the bundle using Basic White card stock. I taped the two label pieces together.

The words are from the "Greetings For You" mix & match ephemera pack.  I set them in place using Dimensionals. They are a sticker but I wanted them popped up so I just left the backing on and added the Dimensionals.

I also added Dimensionals to the dove and set it in place on the layers. Tape was added to half of the back of the layers. I took the card and set the layers in place on the front, I centered them as much as I could.

I had some retired "Candy Dots" embellishments and I colored them black with my Sharpie and they were set in place on the front of the card.

Now to get to the store and pick up a gift card. I have a couple more gift card holders to make and I'll be posting them soon too.

Sun Rising Above the Fog on Lake Superior in Duluth Minnesota

Hello! Before I type up my post for today I thought I would share a photo with you that I took while I was up in Duluth MN earlier this week. We took a few days off to head up there and go through Bentleyville. It's such a fun and beautiful place to go. So many pretty lights. Lots of people in character. I believe every reindeer was represented there. From the Grinch to gingerbread people. There's a shop but we didn't go in. It was SO cold up there and the temps were dropping.  We woke up to a huge fog over the lake. The sun was just starting to rise above the fog. The sun had been up for a while but the fog was so thick it prevented it from shining through.  I took it from the balcony of our hotel room.  Brrr.  Pretty, huh?

Peaceful Garden, Greetings of the Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a beautiful Christmas card that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card by clicking here.  There were no instructions there to tell how to make this card, so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I put the card together.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was cut and then taped on the inside.

The next layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic Black card stock. I think Secret Sea card stock was used but my supply of it is limited. It's so dark that Basic Black is a perfect substitute. I taped this to the front of the card.

Next I cut the Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Peaceful Garden" 12" x 12" package. I cut the top part at 3-7/8" x 3-1/2" and the bottom piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 1-1/2".

On the smaller piece of DSP I stamped the "Merry Christmas" from the "Greetings of the Season" bundle.  I used Night of Navy ink. I had just added ink to my pad and it's amazing how nice and clean it stamps when the ink pad has just the right amount of ink on it. I tend to make them too juicy and I have a big mess. I managed to do it just right today. I hope I remember how I did that when I need to add ink to more pads. Wish me luck on that! I taped the two pieces of DSP on the front of the card.

The doves are from another sheet of DSP from the same package. I used a die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set. After looking at the original card closer that piece was cut using a glittered sheet. I don't have any of it so I ended up just adding some Wink of Stella to the edge. It gave it a little sparkle. Sometimes you just have to do what you can with what you have.  Dimensionals were added to the back of this piece and it was set in place on the front of the card.

I took some "Candy Dots" (retired) and using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and I colored three dots. I let them dry for a couple of minutes and I set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make and I REALLY like this layout. I'm going to have to make another one using copier paper for my stack of templates. I like to have my templates in 3d. I like to see the layers and I also write the date on the front when the template was used so I can go back and look at it and see the details for more ideas or for clarity.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
