I cut a 3-1/2" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock for the base.
My calendar page came from a little tablet of calendars I had gotten at the Dollar Tree. It's so odd but there's 3 copies of each month. The calendars come with a little note pad too. I trim the calendar backing down and I punch 2 holes in it so I can hang it from my little command hook by my worktable.
I wanted to make calendar pages like I did last year (lost interest in July) so I thought I'd use one of the duplicate pieces to do it.
I'm saying this was a learning experience because I know for next month what I need to do to make it better.
I will put the calendar on top of an 1/8" layer of card stock. Here Balmy Blue or Highland Heather would be pretty. And for the upper part I think I would also have a layer but it would probably still be white. It just looks too empty up there. Though it will depend on the images I use whether it will need a layer or not. But the calendar itself definitely needs a layer. And this is how we learn.
My snowflakes are die cut from the "Snowflake Kisses" bundle. I took a scrap piece of Basic White card stock and using my blending brush I lightly scrubbed on some Balmy Blue ink and then some Pretty in Pink on top of that and then a little Highland Heather for a tiny bit more purple. I cut them out and then just glued them in place. Not one of my finer pieces of work but it's January and here in Minnesota, we have snow and we have cold and the cold allows us to keep the snow, even if we are SO done with it. We just got 5" in our backyard two days ago and there was a dusting today. And now it's going to get cold again. But on the bright side, in a couple of months the snow will be melting and spring will be here! LOL I do love the snow but have been disappointed the last few years because it's not snowman snow and I love making a snowman. Maybe next year!
I hope you all have some great memories of 2025 and I wish the best for you in the New Year,
Wanda
