A Flower Patch, Flourishing Phrases and Playful Pallet Washi Tape Congratulations Card

Okay, before you say anything, I will confess to you how much I do NOT pay attention to things.  I stamped the flower using Peekaboo Peach ink and then I fussy cut it out. I didn't need to, I also have the Thinlit dies that go with the set.  Duh! And it's not that I couldn't find it.  I have it rubber banded to the set and I took the rubber band off and had it around my wrist.  Not one of those clues eluded me to look at the dies to see if I didn't have to fussy cut!!! LOL  Okay, now with that confession aside, I would have had to fussy cut the center 5 petal piece.  I had stamped the image twice and cut the center flower out.  It wasn't my original thought but when I saw there was a piece of lint or something that was on the stamp and transferred to the paper, I had to either re-stamp the image or cover it up somehow.  I thought about taking some ink and tapping it on so it would blend but sometimes that shows, so I decided to stamp the image again, making sure I got the center on my scrap piece of card stock, and I cut it out by hand.  It wasn't bad, after all, I had just cut the big flower!!! LOL

I cut my card stock as follows.  I used a folded half sheet of Whisper White card stock.  Then i took a piece of the Flirty Flamingo and cut it 4" x 5-1/4".  Then I took a piece of Blushing Bride and cut it 3-3/4" x 5".  And the focal Whisper White piece was cut 3-5/8" x 4-7/8".

Next I took the "Playful Petals" Washi tape and set it across the panel at an angle.  I set the flower on where I wanted it but didn't set it in place yet.  I wanted to see where to stamp the Emerald Envy leaf. Then I set the flower in place using a Dimensional.  The center flower piece was added with a Dimensional as well. I added a pearl to the center of that.

The words are from the "Flourishing Phrases" set.  I do have to admit, that is a great set to have.  Lots of fun words to use on a large variety of cards.  And that was it!  If I had used the die to cut the flower it would have gone much faster but all in all it really didn't take long to make. I do like how it turned out!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,

Morning Meadow and Secret Garden Washi Tape

Fun, fun, fun!!!  Today's card comes to by Jenny at "Stamping Moments".  I had done a search for Washi Tape to see what I could come up with to use it on.  I was having second thought on my purchase of it until I found Jenny's blog.

This is a very simple card to make.  The base is Strawberry Slush and so are the two flowers on the left.  One is stamped from the "Morning Meadow" set and the other is just punched form Strawberry Slush cardstock.  The yellow is Daffodil Delight.  The flower is also  from the "Morning Meadow" set.  I got that set because of the longer Asian looking flower not for the punchable flower!!  But I do like this new flower.  I also like how Jenny punched out a solid cardstock flower to go behind the stamped ones.  It gives it a bit of depth.

Oh and don't forget the rhinestones. That bling on the card is such a nice touch!  And the words are also from the same "Morning Meadow" set.

The Washi Tape was fun to use.  I clipped the ends into the ribbon edge looking points.  I didn't care much for doing that because the tape is just that, tape and it's sticky and hard to cut in that way.  It's not hard to cut, just hard to do the "V" thing.  Oh and if you get the tape down on your paper and it's crooked you can slowly remove it but then it curls up and then it's a bit more difficult to work with.  But after the second time of setting that far left strip in place I was able to add the other two with ease.

Isn't this just a cute and festive card?  I'm SO glad I ran across it!!  I just HAD to make it!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
