Penguin Place, Penguin Playmates, So Many Snowflakes, Christmas Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I found the most adorable card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here as I did change a few things due to products on hand.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The Soft Sea Foam layer is 4" x 5-1/4".

Then the Designer Series Papers (DPS) from the "Penguin Playmates" 12" x 12" package measure 2-1/2" x 5" and 1" x 5".  The trees are the backside of the green dashes. The DSP was taped to the Soft Sea Foam piece on the card base.

I used the retired stitched square to make the Basic White focal piece. It measures 2-3/4" x 2-3/4" for those of you who don't have the dies and just need to cut the piece.   And the Soft Sea Foam square measures 3" x 3".

Using the "Penguin Place" set I took out the snow line image and I stamped it across the focal piece using Soft Sea Foam ink. I also stamped it again just behind the fox.

Next the trees from the same set were stamped using Just Jade ink. I stamped once and then without inking, I stamped two more times. On the left the are light, darker and darkest. On the right the are darker, darkest and then the light one. It shows up much better in person.

The clouds were stenciled in. I do not have the cloud stencil so I just took a piece of card stock and cut some fluffy looking bumps in it and stenciled away using a blending brush and Balmy Blue ink.  The Basic White square was taped to the Soft Sea Foam square and then the piece was taped to the front of the card. I tried to line up the sides of the square with the sides of the DSP.

The words are from the same "Penguin Place" set and were stamped using Just Jade ink.

Then the fox was fussy cut from a piece of the DSP in the package. He was set in place using a few Dimensionals.

I didn't have the same snowflakes that were used on the original card but I did have snowflakes from the "So Many Snowflakes" dies and I made them work. The were set in place using small Dimensionals.

The centers of the snowflakes have colored rhinestones, they were colored with the dark Mossy Meadow Blends pen because I didn't have the Just Jade Blends pen.  It goes well enough with the card to pass! And that was it!  Isn't it adorable?

This was a very fun card to make and the fox was not at all difficult to fussy cut out. I just love the look of this card. I don't know what it is about it but the moment I saw it I just had to make it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's Christmas card,

Here's a Card, Flower and Field, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up!

I always laugh when I use the "Here's a Card" set and I put it in the title of my post. It's like announcing "here's a card" when it's actually a set called "Here's a Card".  So here's MY card! LOL

I had a piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flower and Field" 12" x 12" 2021 Sale-a-Brations sitting on my worktable.  I'm slowing going through the piles of paper there and using them up.

I thought it would be fun to use the "Medium Daisy" punch with this card since the images are daisy looking flowers.  I punched out two pieces and glued them together. Then I punched out a 3/8" Daffodil Delight circle and glued it to the center of the flower. I set this aside to dry.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White to the inside.

The DSP measures 4" x 5-1/4" and it was taped to the front of the card.

Next I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and used the "Curvy" die to cut the top and the bottom.

I took the bottom part and stamped the words from the "Here's a Card" set using black Memento ink. Then I added Dimensionals to the top and bottom pieces and set them in place on top of the DSP.

The petals of the flower were curled using my bone folder. Hold the flower in the center and curl them like you would using curling ribbon except be a bit more gentle or you will rip the petals off. I sponged on a little Balmy Blue ink and set the flower in place using a Dimensional.

I used my dark Balmy Blue Blends pen and colored a few crystal rhinestones and set them in place on the front of the card.  And that was it.

This is a very quick way to make a pretty card. It looks like a lot of time went into it when in fact it took linger to get all the stuff together to make it, including cutting the card stock.

I can see myself making more cards like this with some retired DSP. I should have left the words in my Stamparatus so I could crank out a few. I may set it up tomorrow and just stamp some fronts for another time when I run across more DSP laying around that I just can't seem to let go of.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to see todays card,
Wanda

Sweet Strawberry, Berry Delight, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog and Sale-a-Bration

I found this beauty on Pinterest. I loved the strawberry Designer Series Paper (DSP) that was from the retired "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. So this piece measures 4-1/4" x 11" before folding in half at 5-1/2". The front of the card was textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder.

The DSP was cut at 3-3/4" x 4-1/4".  Before taping it to the front of the card you may want to wait until you have completed the black strip.

The Basic Black strip was cut from a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of card stock. I marked the right side 1" down from the top corner and I cut from the left corner to the mark on the right side. I marked each side at 1" and cut across to each mark. I laid the strip on top of the card.

Stamp, color and punch (or fussy cut) your strawberries from the "Sweet Strawberry" set using black memento ink for the outline, Poppy Parade for the strawberries and garden green for the stems. I glued the stems to the strawberries and I set them on top of the strip to see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Sweet Strawberry" set and were stamped using Versa Mark ink and embossed with white embossing powder.

The strip was then taped to the front of the card. Make sure the DSP is not showing on the left side of the card. If it is you can either trim some away or you can move the strip up a bit.

The strawberries were added and a few crystal rhinestones were set in place. I colored mine using the dark Real Red Blends pen. And the card was done.  This is a very quick and easy card to make. I may use this layout for some retired papers. It seems to use up a nice piece of the DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I worked on today,

Darling Donkeys, Birthday Card, 202 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I believe I have used all three of the donkeys in the "Darling Donkeys" stamp set. I found this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I got stuck in a loop when I clicked on the photo in the link. I was hoping to find some directions but I didn't, so here is how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I took the largest "Stitched Rectangle" die and die cut a quarter piece of Basic White card stock.

I took a 2" x 4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package.  I lined up the bottom of the DSP to the bottom of the die and I ran it through my Big Shot. I needed to have stitching on the two sides and the bottom.  I taped the DSP to the bottom of the Basic White piece.

Next a piece of linen thread. Mine was some thicker stuff that was left over from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit.  I added some double sided taped to the backside of the Basic White piece and stuck the thread to it. Then I secured the thread with scotch tape. The piece was then taped to the front of the card base.

The donkey from the "Darling Donkeys" set was stamped using black Memento ink and fussy cut out. Then he was colored in using both light and dark Smoky Slate Blends pens. And his muzzle and ears were colored in using the light Petal Pink Blends pen.

The words are from the same set and were stamped using Versa Mark on a scrap piece of Night of Navy card stock. They were embossed with white embossing powder and heat set. They were punched out using the "Classic Label" punch.  I snipped the center point about 1/4" in. Then I snipped the points on the sides where the snip ended.  That made it have that ribbon look and it was even on both sides.  The other end of the words was cut straight across.

The words and the donkey were set in place using Dimensionals. I had some retired dots that I added to the front of the card.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. I'm going to miss this set, it retires today but that's not to say I might use it a few more times before I put it in my web store.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to pop in and see what I found to make today,              Wanda

Darling Donkeys, Art Gallery, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration and Spring Catalog

Today I found a cute "Darling Donkey" card on Pinterest.  It used some of the "Ombre" Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the 2021 Sale-a-Bration catalog.  I jumped at the opportunity to make this card because my package of DSP is pretty full.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  On top of that is a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Rococo Rose card stock that was textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I love the little flowers on that folder. They are so dainty and can be used for several occasions, like a wedding, anniversary, birthday, thinking of you, get well, sympathy and Mother's Day cards. I usually glue my embossed pieces in place, especially when there is a lot of texture. Sometimes the tape just doesn't seem to stick enough with sporadic contact surfaces.

The Basic White layer piece was cut at 4-5/8" x 3-1/2" and the DSP was cut at 4-1/2" x 3-3/8". I added a piece of white ribbon around the DSP and taped it to the back. I first used double sided so I can get the piece in place and then I add scotch tape to hold the piece in place. After adding the ribbon those two pieces were taped together and then taped on top of the embossed Rococo Rose piece.

The donkey from the "Darling Donkey's" set was stamped using black Memento ink. Then it was colored in using the light and dark Gray Granite Blends pens. The flower was colored in using the light Flirty Flamingo Blends pen. The inside of the ears and muzzle were colored in using the light Petal Pink Blends pen and the stem and leaf were colored in using the Light Granny Apple Green Blends pen.  Once the coloring was done I used the largest "Stitched Oval" die to cut him out.  He was set in place using Dimensionals.

The words are from the "Art Gallery" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on a 5/8" x 2-1/8" piece of Rococo Rose card stock. They were set in place using Dimensionals on the right and double-sided tape on the left.

A bow was tied and attached to the lower left of the oval, across the ribbon and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. I love the look of the DSP and I was glad I got to use some. This would also be pretty in the other colors of DSP in the package.

A Touch of Ink, Approaching Perfection, Birthday Card, Polaroid Technique, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I have used the "Polaroid" technique on several cards. It's a fun and easy technique and it makes for a very quick card. Well, depending your image and how much embellishing you want to do.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock.  The background piece is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White that was textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.

I taped a 1-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of "Flower and Field" Designer Series Pape (DSP) to the top of the embossed card stock.

The Polaroid piece was cut at 3" x 3-3/4".  The square on the inside was cut 2-1/8" x 2-1/8". You can save the square from the center for another project. You can use it to stamp your center image on but I prefer to have the inside piece larger.  I cut my inside piece at 2-3/4" x 2-3/4". On other Polaroid cards that I've done, I've used the center part that was cut out but I didn't like that I could see the background piece under it. So now when I do them I will make the piece to be stamped on larger than the hole that it will be shown through.

I stamped the butterfly from the "A Touch of Ink" stamp set using black Memento ink. I colored it in using the light Bermuda Bay Blends pen and then I added some of the dark Bermuda Bay on the upper part of the wings and the area closer to the body. I did color the body in with the light Bermuda Bay pen and then I went over it using the light Crumb Cake Blends pen. It kind of made a limy olive green color. I just wanted it different than the wings.

The words are from the "Approaching Perfection" set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.

I flipped the Polaroid piece over and added Dimensionals all around. You can also use the foam tape strips but I don't like to use them unless I'm making a shaker card, I use them sparingly.  Dimensionals all over works just fine but it does take a bit longer to remove the backing on all of them. I set the butterfly in place and then I added double-sided tape to the back of the piece and set it in place on top of the card front.  After adding a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock to the inside, the card was done.

I like the look of this card and it just seems like you can never go wrong with the Polaroid technique.

Berry Blessings, Birthday or Congratulations Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Catalog

I found this fun and quick card on Pinterest.  I love the simplicity of it. I'm not sure what drew me to this card but I just had to make one. You can see the original card here. I pretty much copied the same as the original one. The link does not lead to any measurements so here's how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The Pacific Point card stock for the layer was cut at 3-3/4" x 2-1/4". And the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Berry Delightful" 12" x 12" package was cut at 3-1/2" x 2" and taped to the Pacific Point piece. Then that was taped to the front of the card.

The outline of the berries were stamped using black Memento ink. Pacific Point ink was used for the solid part of the berries. There's a matching solid stamp so you don't have to color them in by hand. The berries were stamped on a scrap piece of  Basic White card stock.

The leaves were stamped using black Memento ink and then the leaves were filled in using the solid image stamp and Old Olive ink. Then the piece was die cut using the second largest "Stitched Circle" dies.

The words are from the same set and were stamped on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock using black Memento ink. The were die cut using the second smallest longest die in the "Rectangle Stitched" framelits dies. The word piece was taped in place.

The circle was added using Dimensionals and of course I forgot to add the dots before I took the photo. I used crystal rhinestones and the dark Night of Navy Blends pen and colored three of them and set them in place on the front of the card.

This was a very fun card to make and I especially like the layout. I am going to have to give this layout another try sometime in the near future using some other images and DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I made today,

A Touch of Ink, Berry Blessings, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Catalog

Today's card was a lot more time consuming that I had thought it would be.  But it was such a pretty card that I just had to make it. And I had some extra time to spend on making a card that would take longer than just 20 minutes or so.  So I went for it.  You can see the original card here.  There are not instructions on how to make it, so here is how I did it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock and the top layer is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock.

The first thing I did was I stamped the butterfly from the "A Touch of Ink" set using black Memento ink. Then I fussy cut it out. I colored the butterfly using the light Sea Side Spray Blends pen. I colored in the whole butterfly.  Then I added some dark Sea Side Spray going from the body up about 1/3rd and I did that at the top of the wings too, coloring down about 1/3rd of the way.   Next I used the light Night of navy and colored up from the body about half way in the dark Sea Side Spray area. I repeated that for the top of the wings.  The dark Night of Navy was used very sparingly along the body and at the top part of the wings.  I took the Sea Side Spray pen and colored over the butterfly again except in the center. I did that to make the colors blend together better. I didn't know what was used for the dots on the wings but it wasn't the original shape the stamped image made them, so I took the Dark Basic Black Blends pen and coloreed in the top of the wings. I took a toothpick and snipped the end a little. I dipped it in some acrylic white paint and dotted it on the wings. Then I set it aside while I worked on the other parts of the card.

The first thing I stamped on the Whisper White piece of card stock was the lower leaves. I used black Memento ink to stamp them.  I used the solid leaves stamp and I stamped over the leaves using Granny Apple Green ink.  After I stamped that I realized I should have colored the leaves with Blends pens. SO I colored over the leaves using the light Old Olive Blends pen. Then I took the dark Old Olive pen and drew over the veins in the leaves. I also used the light Mossy Meadow Blends pen to add some more color to the veins. I colored over the whole leaf with the light Old Olive Blends pen again.

Now for the berries. They are from the "Berry Blessings" set.  I actually held my berry cluster (of three) stamp up to my computer screen to see which way the berries went that could be stamped together in one stamping. The ones just above the top part of the leaf was the first set of three berries. I stamped those in  using black Memento ink. I also stamped the berries on a piece of copier paper so I could make a mask because some of the berries appear to be behind other berries and I would need to mask the stamped ones off to add the ones behind them.  I did find that I was able to block a lot of the unwanted berries using a post it note over the area I didn't want to get ink on, plus I tried to get ink only on the one berry I wanted, which ended up being the middle size berry.

Above the leaf on the right was another spot that I was able to stamp all three berries at one time. Then I added three medium berries before I stamped the next leaf.  After the next leaf was stamped, I was able to add one more set of berries. The medium one in that set is right next to the new leaf where the stem will be added later. And one more medium berry was added next to the one where the stem will be added.

The berries were colored in same fashion as the butterfly was, starting with the lightest and moving to the darker pens.  I took extra care to only color that center area once. You want the berries to look like the light is shining on them, plus it gives the illusion of the berries being round.

I colored in the second set of leaves the same way I did on the first set.

I drew the stems in using the Basic Black Blends pen and I colored them in using the dark Old Olive Blends pen.

The words are from the "Berry Blessings" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

Once all the stamping and coloring was done, I took the light Sea Side Spray Blends pen and colored around the berries and leaves. I did set the butterfly where it was going to go so I could see where to color in it's shadow.

I did see that Misty Moonlight Blends pens were used in the card but I don't have that color so I just used what I had. I'm not sure if the light Misty Moonlight would have been better and lighter for the outlining but Sea Side Spray did the job for me and I'm happy with how it turned out.

I colored some crystal Rhinestones using my dark Old Olive and Night of Navy Blends pens. I set them aside for a couple of minutes to dry.

I taped the stamped piece on top of the card base and then I set the butterfly in place using Dimensionals. The rhinestones were added and the card was done.

I'm not sure who I'm going to send this out to. I do love how it turned out though.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today and have a look at this pretty card,      Wanda

Touch of Ink, Thank you Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I found a pretty card using the humming bird from the "Touch of Ink" set. I thought I was going to have to put that set aside and not getting to use the humming bird.  But I ran across this card and knew I just had to make it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock. I wasn't paying attention because Pool Party is the color in the daisies. But Balmy Blue worked fine too.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was cut for the layer that will be placed on top of the card base.

I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Flower & Field" 12" x 12" Sale-a-Bration pack at 3" x 3-7/8". I like the daisies in this pack. It will be taped to the left side of the card.

Then a 2-3/8" x 3-7/8" piece of Balmy Blue card stock. I had textured it using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. My piece of card stock was a bit larger. I like to have it larger than the piece I need because I have had it shrink on me. Sometimes the texture will use up some of the paper and make it a bit smaller. So to be safe, I just make it larger, emboss it and then cut it. This piece will be taped on top of the Basic White piece, overlapping the DSP.

The bird was stamped right in the middle of the Basic White piece that will be going on top of the card base. Or you can use a separate piece of card stock.  The bird was stamped using black Memento ink. And the solid stamp for the bird was inked up with Balmy Blue and then stamped over the bird.

The words were stamped using black Memento ink and then the bird was cut using a 2-1/8" circle die and a Balmy Blue scalloped circle was cut just a bit larger than the Basic White one. The two circles were taped together and the card was assembled. The circles were set in place with Dimensionals and a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was taped to the inside and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I am SO loving that DSP.  After I added the photo to this post, I thought that the card could use a little sparkle so I put some Wink of Stella in the center of the flowers.  It's very pretty.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by,                                                                Wanda

Touch of Ink, Dandelion Wishes, Get Well Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

The "Touch of Ink" set was still setting on my worktable so I thought I'd try another butterfly card. I was thinking I should use the humming bird, I have not made a card using it yet. I just can't seem to find anything on the internet that catches my eye. Though I have not spent a lot of time looking, either.

This butterfly has got to be the easiest image to color using the sponge brushes. I stamped it using black Memento ink. I fussy cut it out.  A tip for cutting small thin images like the legs and antenna is to cut one side and then cut the other and lastly cut around the ends. Don't try to turn corners, you can bend or rip your card stock. Before I colored the butterfly, I did mask off the body part using a small post it note.  Then I used a sponge brush and colored the whole thing using Flirty Flamingo ink. I brushed on some  Melon Mambo ink on the middle of the butterfly and a bit up towards the tip of the wings.

I took my Soft Suede marker and colored in the body of the butterfly. I set it aside while I worked up the rest of the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  I stamped the leaves using Sahara Sand ink. That's a color I don't often use. I stamped the leaves in several places around the upper right and lower left of the card base.

The words are from the "Dandelion Wishes" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock that was cut 2" x 2-1/4".  I cut a piece of Flirty Flamingo card stock that measured 2-1/4" x 2-1/2". I taped the two pieces together. I added Dimensionals to the back.

Before setting the word piece and butterfly in place I took the dotted image from the set and using Melon Mambo ink I stamped them where they would be behind the butterfly and two coming out from behind the bottom right corner of the word piece.

I set the word piece in place. Then the butterfly was added using Dimensionals on the upper part and double-sided tape on the lower part.

I added a few glass raindrops that I had an I added some crystal rhinestones and the card was done.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and take a look at what I did today,                        Wanda

Darling Donkeys, Thank You Card, Friendship Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I still had my "Darling Donkeys" set out when I ran across this card on Pinterest. Once again it involved some fussy cutting but I was up for the task! There is very little info at the link for this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

A 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock was cut and then sponged with Granny Apple Green for the grass and Bermuda Bay for the sky. You want to do this part of the card first because you need to mist it a little to give it those fun dots in the background. And you need to give it time to dry.

While the card was drying I stamped the donkey from the "Darling Donkeys" set and then I fussy cut it out. Normally I would color first and then cut out, just in case I mess up the coloring then I wouldn't have wasted all that time cutting.  But with the Blends pens I like to cut first because I don't want to pick up ink on my fingers and transfer it to other parts of the image. Not sure it could happen but I don't want to take any chances. I know it can happen with markers. I read a comment on the original card and found that the donkey was colored in using Seaside Spray and Petal Pink Blends pens. I used both light and dark Seaside Spray and light Petal Pink. Once I was done coloring him, I added Dimensionals to the back.

I set the donkey on top of my sponged card stock to see where the words would go. The words are also in the set. I stamped them with black Memento ink.

The donkey was set in place and the card was done.  Even with the fussy cutting, this card was quick to make.  The misted piece didn't take long to dry either.  I did turn it upside down and put a book on top of it to keep it flat.  This was a fun card to make. I did learn something. I learned that Seaside Spray is a perfect  color for the donkey!!

Darling Donkeys, Oh SO Ombre, Here's a Card, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

While looking for a quick and simple card to make using the "Darling Donkeys" set.  Now fussy cutting is not a quick thing so I settled for simple!  LOL I found this card here. It does not lead to a link to find any instructions or measurements, so here is how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Smoky Slate card stock.

I struggled with the measurements for the layers but I think I managed to get it close enough. The Bermuda Bay piece was cut at 3-5/8" x 4-7/8".

The Basic White piece was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-3/4".  I used the 4th largest rectangle die in the "Rectangle Stitched" Framelets pack.  The background is from the Designer Series Paper (DSP) 6" x 6" "Oh So Ombre" pack. I cut the DSP 3-3/8" x 4-5/8".  I taped the DSP to the Basic White piece and then I taped those two to the Bermuda piece.  I set all those layers in place on the card base using double sided tape.

I stamped the donkey from the "Darling Donkeys" set using black Memento ink.  I used the piece of card stock that was from the center of the Basic White framed die. I fussy cut him out and then I colored him in using my light Smoky Slate, Dark Gray Granite, Light Poppy Parade, Dark Granny Apple Green and Dark Petal Pink Blends pens. Then I set the donkey on a piece of scrap copier paper and I took my Basic Black marker and I traced around the edges of the piece. This hides the white edges and makes it look like you are a super great fussy cutter!!!  It gives the edges a nice clean look.

The words are from the "Here's a Card" set and were stamped using Bermuda Bay ink. I used the second smallest "Stitched so Sweetly" rectangle die to cut them out.

The donkey and the word piece were set in place with Dimensionals.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

Even with the fussy cutting it went pretty quick. I think it's adorable and I especially love the donkey against that background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by and have a look,                                    Wanda

Flowers & Field, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I am torn between the flowers on this Designer Series Paper (DSP) or the daisies in the "Flowers & Fields" 12" x 12" package that is in the 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Brations catalog. There are other designs in the package that are pretty too but you know how it is,  you find one you really like and you're drawn to it.  I was drawn to the daisies until I saw this card on Pinterest.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Misty Moonlight card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I took the pretty flower edge die from the "Ornate Border" dies and die cut them using a 5-1/2" x 2-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock.

Then I cut a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of the rose DSP.  I also cut a 5-1/2" x 3" piece of copier paper and I taped it to the back of the DSP. I just wanted the DSP needed to be stiffer for when the ribbon would be added.

The Basic White piece was taped to the back of the DSP piece, leaving about 1/4" of it showing at the top. The Basic White piece does not go all the way down to the bottom of the card.

I didn't have any Misty Moonlight ribbon but I did have some black sparkly ribbon that was retired so I used that instead. Just trying to use up what I have so I can justify buying more later on down the road.  The ribbon was cut about 6-3/4" long. Tape was added to the ends and stuck to the back of the piece. I used scotch tape to hold them in place.

The piece was taped to the front of the Misty Moonlight card base.

I also thought the card could use some words so I stamped the "Thinking of You" from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set using black Memento ink.

The words were stamped using the second smallest Stitched die. The scalloped oval was cut using the die that was just a little larger than the stitched one. The ovals were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the card.

A bow was tied from the same ribbon and set in place using a larger glue dot and the card was done.

Isn't it pretty?  I'm sure any edging you use would be pretty with this card but the roses seemed to fit with the DSP.

A Touch of Ink, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I found a nice card on Pinterest using the "Touch of Ink" set and I thought I'd give it a try but I had some different ideas in mind and today's card is what I came up with. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It seems that a lot of my cards use Basic White for the card base.  And most of them open on the right too!  When I think of a card I tend to think they open on the right, maybe that has something to do with it!  Who knows? Anyway, this card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The first thing I did was I stamped the flower and the butterfly on a piece of scrap card stock using black Memento ink.

Then I stamped the flower using the second step stamp and Melon Mambo ink. I fussy cut the flower part out but not the stems or leaves.  I colored the flower with Wink of Stella for some shimmer and I set them aside.

Then I took the butterfly and sponged on some Melon Mambo in the center and Gorgeous Grape on the outer part. And then I fussy cut it. UGH!  I was very careful to cut around the legs. There was white showing and I'll give you a tip on how to make your fussy cut images look perfect.  After I got done with the fussy cutting I set the butterfly on a piece of scrap copier paper. Then I took my Basic Black marker (not Blends pen) and I traced around the butterfly.  I colored over the legs and antenna. Now pick up your butterfly and see that all the white edges are now black and it looks like you cut along the lines perfectly!!! Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Next I stamped the flower piece again but this time I stamped it on the front of the card. I used black Memento ink to stamp it.

I also stamped the words from the "Touch of Ink" set using black Memento ink. I set it up in my Stamparatus to make sure I could get them straight and dark enough.

I sponged on some Coastal Cabana ink using one of the blending brushes. I love using the new blending brushes.  WOW, those brushes can really make blending so smooth and pretty.  I blended the color in using a circular motion. Then I added a little bit of Bermuda Bay to the center in a circular motion.

The butterfly was set on top of the card to see where the dots needed to be added. I stamped the dots using black Memento ink.

I glued the fussy cut flowers in place. Then I colored the leaves using my Granny Apple Green marker (not Blends pen, I didn't want the color to bleed through to the inside.

I added a little bit of Tomow mono glue to the center of the flowers and let it dry. In the meantime I added Dimensionals to the back of the butterfly. The glue doesn't take long to dry but you can fan your card to help it dry faster. Once it was dry it was tacky. I added a little piece of gold foil to the glued area and pressed down on it. Then I took a stipple brush and brushed away the gold that wasn't sticking to the flower and this is what I ended up with.  Just enough gold to attract a butterfly!

The butterfly was set in place and the card was done.

This was a very easy card to make and I like how the butterfly really stands out against the background.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to stop by and take a look at my card,                      Wanda

Berry Blessings, Sweet Strawberries, Berry Delight, Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

There's SO many lovely cards on Pinterest using the "Berry Blessings" set. I wanted to play with it again because it's retiring at the end of the month and I've hardly used any of my Sale-a-Bration sets.  This one is un and it's cute too, plus it's got matching Designer Series Paper (DSP) to go with it. You can see the original card here

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Granny Apple Green card stock. The card stock was cut in half on the short side. The piece then measured 4-1/4" x 11". This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I took a piece of DSP from the "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" pack that came as a bundle in the Sale-a-Brations catalog.  I cut the piece 4" x 5-1/4" and I then cut that piece in half at 2-5/8".  I taped the berry piece to the top part of the card and then I flipped the other half over and taped the leafy piece in place.

I took some ribbon I had on hand and taped it around the front of the card at the seam of where the two pieces of DSP meet. I taped the ends of the ribbon on the front center of the card. I used scotch tape to hold them down. The panel will hid it so you can use any kind of tape you have.

The Basic White piece was cut 3-1/8" x 3-1/8" and the Granny Apple Green layer was cut 3-1/4" x 3-1/4".  I stamped the words on the Basic White piece first so I could tell where to place the berries. The words are from the "Sweet Strawberries" set and were stamped using Poppy Parade ink. I used Poppy Parade to stamp both the outline image and the solid image.

Then the leaves were added using Garden Green for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the solid part. I stamped the leaf image three times to fill in much of the area on the top.

I tied a double bow using the same ribbon I did for the wrap around.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make and it's so bright and cheery looking too.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I did today,                                Wanda

Berry Blessings, Good Morning Magnolia, Berry Delight, Thinking of You Card

Two days ago I made a "thinking of you" card using the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I love how elegant those words looked, so today when I was working on my card I thought that same stamp would look pretty on this card. Here's how I made my card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package. I cut my piece 5-1/8" x 3-7/8".  I taped it to a piece of Basic White card stock that was cut the same size. Before I taped it I die cut a stitched circle from the center of it  using the largest die. Once it was taped I set it in place on top of the card base using Dimensionals.

Next I stamped the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set using black Memento ink. I die cut the words using the second smallest stitched oval die.

I die cut the largest scalloped circle using a quarter sheet of Rich Razzleberry card stock. I also die cut the scalloped oval from it's center. I used the die that was the next size larger than the stitched oval.  Be sure to center it so you can make use of that solid circle. It's such a waste, so why not try to cut out what you can from it's center.  I taped the words to the scalloped oval piece and set it aside.

Then I stamped the grapes (or are they raspberries???) from the "Berry Blessings" set using black Memento ink. Then I used the second step stamp and stamped the color on the berries using Rich Razzleberry ink.  I stamped three.

The stems for the berries were stamped using Mossy Meadow ink for the outline and Garden Green for the solid color. I stamped two.

Then the leaves were stamped using Mossy Meadow for the outline and Granny Apple Green for the solid part. I stamped two and then I fussy cut all the pieces.  Yup, there's no matching die. But once again, I survived the fussy cutting with no injuries!! LOL

I arranged and taped the fruits on the circle, then the stems and then the leaves. I set one stem on with a piece of Dimensional. And the top leaf was set in place with Dimensionals.

I added Dimensionals to the circle and set it in place on the card.

The word piece was added using Dimensionals on the right side and double sided tape on the left side. And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and it's so very cheery looking. I have a lot of DSP to use up by the end of the month when it retires.  It's not going to happen!!! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see what I did today,

Art Gallery, Good Morning Magnolia, Thinking of You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I was going to play with some of my Sale-a-Bration stamps but I found this card and wanted to make it. Though the Designer Series Paper (DSP) is a Sale-a-Bration item. You get 48 sheets of 6" x 6" DSP. More than you'll need. I always end up with lots left in any DSP that I purchase.  I don't think I've ever used an entire package.  Kind of sad.  But I thought this card would be great to do because it uses some of the new DSP. You can see the original card here. The link from there doesn't take you anywhere and I did try to find the card at the designers blog but after a few pages of searching I gave up, I didn't have the time to hunt.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.  I have to try to remember that it's now Basic White and not Whisper White but I often start typing Bright White.  UGH. One of these days it will just flow as I type without having to think about it.

I cut my DSP at 2" x 5-1/2". At this rate you only use 1/3 of a piece of DSP.  See why I never use up an entire pack of DSP?  LOL  But if you are smart you will set up your stamps in your Stamparatus and make several at one time, then you can use a whole piece or even more of the DSP!! I made two cards. I taped my DSP on the left about 1/4" from the fold.

I stamped the leaves and stem image from the "Art Gallery" set using Granny Apple Green ink.

The flower was stamped using Rococo Rose ink and then Rich Razzleberry on top of that and the center was stamped using BlackBerry Bliss.  My Rich Razzleberry was so dark that the Blackberry Bliss doesn't show up much at all.

Once my stamping was done I die cut the pieces.

I set the card in my Stamparatus to stamp the words from the "Good Morning Magnolia" set. I set the leaves and stem piece on the card to see where the words should go. I removed them and then stamped the words using Rich Razzleberry ink.

Next I set the flower in place using Dimensionals. I took my Wink of Stella pen and painted over the Blackberry Bliss image.

I had some pretty glass raindrops so I glued them in place using the Tombow Mono glue and the card was done.

I do like how it turned out, though I do regret the raindrops because it is now a non-machinable card but it can be hand delivered or just pay the extra postage.  If I make more, and I probably will, I will use sequins instead.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see what I've been up to today,
Wanda

Berry Bliss, Berry Delight, Congratulations Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration Catalog

I just realized that there are not that many more days before the 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration ends and I haven't played much with the sets from that catalog.  So today I found a pretty card using the "Berry Bliss" set and the "Berry Delight" Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The card can be seen here but there was no link to the original post so I didn't have any measurements. So here is how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  The card stock was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side. This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

The first thing I did was I stamped the leaf using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I filled in the leaves with the leaf image and Garden Green ink. The berries were added using Night of Navy ink and they were filled in using Pacific Point ink.  I fussy cut them out. The little berry was cut out separately from the leaf piece.

After the fussy cutting I was able to figure out what size I needed to cut the circles. The top circle measures 2-3/8". The leafy circle on the bottom left measures 1-7/8" and the small circle on the right measures 1-5/8".  I set the circles in place where I thought they should go and lightly traced the areas with a pencil so I could erase them later.  I use an art gum kneadable eraser. These erasers are the best. They only pickup the graphite and nothing else. They do not ruin your paper. I often draw lines in pencil on my scoring board and I can knead this eraser into a point and get it right inside that score line to erase it.  Anyway, I moved the circles out of the way so I could add the berries. They were stamped using Night of Navy ink for the outline and Pacific Point for the inside. They were stamped twice.

I set the large circle in place and erased the line. Then I set the second circle in place and erased those lines. And I did the same with the smaller circle.

Then the fussy cut leaves and berries were set in place with Dimensionals. And don't forget to add that small berry.

The words are from the same "Berry Bliss" set and were stamped using Night of Navy on Basic White card stock. I cut them so they measured 1" x 3-3/8" and then I punched it using the "Triple Banner" punch. The words were set in place using Dimensionals. Make sure you don't put any where the stem is or it will push it down and it won't look right.

I don't know what the embellishments are but I had some raindrops from my stash. I had bought them back in 2008.  I guess it's about time I use them.  LOL  Anyway, I was glad I had something that was comparable and was able to use some. At this rate they will never be all used up because there's SO many in the bottle.  They are from "The Robin's Nest" Dew Drops.  I glued them with Tombow Multi Mono glue.  I really like that glue but I hate it when I get it on my fingers, it's like it doesn't want to come off and it's sticky.  I have used it for the gold foiling too. It dries but it's sticky and that's what you need for the gold foil.

I cut a 1/4" strip of the blue plaid DSP and added it to the bottom of the card and the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and I love the stamps and matching DSP. I can't wait to make another card with this set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's creation,                                                    Wanda

Berry Blessings, Thank You Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

I got the new Sale-a-bration set "Berry Blessings" yesterday. So today I turned on the computer to see if I could find a fun card to make.  I did find one but I had change it a bit. You can see the original card here. There is no link to where that card came from so here is how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pacific Point card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left. The change I made here was in the layout. I am not fond of the original layout because it's difficult to send tuck money in the card and the writing space is limited.  It's a cool layout but it's not one of my favorite. So I turned it into a standard card.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White (Whisper White has changed it's name to Basic White and I'm trying to get used to it - change is not one of my favorite things!!! LOL). One piece was for the inside and one was for the top. I taped the inside piece and added it to the card. I waited on the outside piece because of the wording.

Next I cut a 3-7/8" x 1-3/8" piece of Pacific Point card stock and a 3-3/4" x 1-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Berry Delight" 12" x 12" package.  I ended up with a small piece when I cut my full sheet. I had cut a 4" strip and then cut two 5-1/4" pieces and what was left was what I used at the top part of the card.  It was nice not to have to cut a full piece just for a small strip.  I taped the DSP to the Pacific Point piece and I set it aside.

Then I cut a 2-1/4" x 2-7/8" piece of Basic White card stock. I set the piece up in my Stamparatus so I could stamp over the image should the ink not be detailed enough and of course mine weren't because some of my ink pads were too dry.

I stamped the stem using Garden Green and then the leaves were stamped using Old Olive ink. Then the outline of the berries were stamped using Night of Navy ink. And the solid part of the berries were stamped using Pacific Point ink. I taped this piece to a 2-3/8" x 3" piece of Pacific Point card stock. I added Dimensionals to the back of it and without removing the protective layer, I set it on top of the card so I could see where the wording would go.  When I was looking at my stamped panel and the one on the original card I noticed that mine was too short. But I think it was meant to be because I really liked the words I used and I had wanted to use them but had I made the piece longer I would have probably used the words that were on the original card.  I stamped the words using Pacific Point ink.

I taped the top DSP panel in place and then I removed the protective backing on the Dimensionals and set it in place on the card.

A ribbon was tied (the ribbon is retired) and set in place using two small glue dots. After setting the ribbon in place the card still needed something. So I took my Wink of Stella pen and just painted a line under each of the berries. It didn't show up in the photo but you can see where the blue is more smooth and not so dotted. That's where the Wink of Stella is. And now the card was done.

I like how it turned out and I REALLY like these words SO much better. I'm not a big fan of puns and I was glad I didn't use the words from the original card.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and take a look today,                                      Wanda

Darling Donkeys, Birthday Card, 2021 Sale-a-Bration, Interactive Card, Technique Card

I have had this card sitting on my computer desktop for a few days now. I have wanted to make it but hadn't had the time. I was hoping that my computer wouldn't need rebooting or I'd lose it because I didn't bother to copy the link to save for later.  I would never do things that would make life easier for me!! LOL Anyway it was on my computer and today I had time to do it.  The link to the card is here and there's a link there to a video on how to make this technique.

I used all the same papers for my card that were in the original card. I did color my donkey a little different and I used ribbon I had on hand that matched.

This was fun to make and it was pretty easy too.  I do like how it turned out though there would be a few things I'd do differently.  I would add something to the front of the Bermuda Bay rectangle on the front of the card. It's empty and looks like the card isn't finished. I would cut that bottom piece a bit wider so  I could move the donkey over more, thinking that it would allow the donkey to move even more.

The magnets I used were very thin but they were larger, so I added it to the face of the donkey and not the muzzle.  After making the one I think there would be a way to not have to use the magnets. They are only there because it made it easy to line up the donkey and the white moveable paper. I would think punching out a few 1/4" circles and gluing them together would work. Attach it as you would the magnet and then feel where it is on the card stock and mark it with a pen or a pin, whichever because no one is going to see it.

I was happy that I got it to work the first time out!  Sometimes I have to redo the technique because of some odd thing I did wrong.

I think this would be a fun technique to use for a children's card and I will probably give it another try sometime in the future.

I do like that it all fits on a regular size card. Some of these techniques end up too large for a regular card. This was perfect and I like it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and take a look at this fun technique,                Wanda
