Free as a Bird, Itty Bitty Greetings, Birthday Card, 2019-2020 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Sometimes my camera sees white as pink and other times it sees it as white. I don't know what is up with that.  The focal piece and the background that was used to take the photo are really white, not pink! So now that we cleared that up, we can move on.  LOL

I really wanted to play with the "Daisy Lane" set again but I had promised I would find a different set for today.  But maybe tomorrow might bring on another from "Daisy Lane".  I have seen SO many fun and easy cards using that set.  But for today, I used the "Free as a Bird" set.  I found the card here.  I thought it was SO pretty.  I just love the Balmy Blue color and I think that is what caught my eye on this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Balmy Blue card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Balmy Blue that had leaves stamped with stamped off Balmy Blue ink and then textured with the "Subtle" embossing folder.  I think that folder makes the card stock look like it's linen.  That piece was set in place on top of the card base using Dimensionals.

I stamped the birds image from the "Free as a Bird" set using black Memento ink.  I colored in the birds with Blends Pens.  I used dark Daffodil Delight for the beaks.  Calypso Coral, Balmy Blue, Old Olive and Crumb Cake, light and dark pens were used to color in the images. After coloring the images I cut it out using the second largest stitched hexagon die cut.

After coloring I realized I wanted to add some words so I looked at the set and the words on it weren't what interested me.  I thought of this card as either a get well card or a birthday card.  I got out the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set and found the get well wishes.  I stamped them using Smoky Slate ink.  I did set up my card stock in the Stamparatus and lined up the words and stamped them.  I love using that thing. It's saved me from having hit and miss inked lettering. I'm able to reink the stamp and stamp again in the exact same spot and have perfectly stamped wording.

I set a few glue dots down in the center area of where the die cut piece would go and I proceeded to stick some linen thread to it.  I found it easier than winding it around my fingers.

Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the die cut piece and set it in place on the front of the card.  I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and I was done.

This card didn't take long to make.  I was in the mood for some coloring, which usually takes longer than just stamping and die cutting but it's SO worth it.  And all in all, it didn't take long to make this card at all.

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
