Gorgeous Posies, Daisy Lane, Detailed Bands, Birthday Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today I thought I would try another layout I like to use.  It helps you use up some Designer Series Paper (DSP) but not a lot.  I'm in need of finding some cards that use up a LOT of DSP.  I have a lot of retired papers I should make into cards instead of piling them up in my workroom.  

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I used the "Subtle" embossing folder and embossed the front of the card.  Then I cut off the left side so all I had left was 1-1/4" left.  I also cut the remaining piece so I had a 1-1/4" strip.

I cut two 1/2" strips of Crushed Curry.  The matching color for this is the new Bumblebee but I don't have any and the closet color was Crushed Curry. It worked for me.

I die cut the word frame using the "Detailed Bands" set and Crushed Curry card stock.

I also cut a Whisper White word frame piece because I needed the center to be white so I could stamp on it.

I stamped the words from the "Gorgeous Posies" set using black Memento ink on the die cut piece.

I stamped two small daises using Crushed Curry ink on Whisper White card stock.  I punched them out with the "Medium Daisy" punch. I glued the center together and set them aside to dry.

I taped the two 1/2" strips to the edges of the Whisper White pieces and then I added the strip of DSP using snail tape.  I had cut a piece of card stock that was just a hair shorter than 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and I taped it to the backside of the front of the card. I needed the front of the card to be more firm and stable.  

I taped the Crushed Curry framed piece in place.  I trimmed the ends because they hung over the card on both sides.  I taped the words to the inside of the frame piece.

I took a couple of leaves from my May Paper Pumpkin kit and placed them behind my flower.  What I did was I added a Dimensional to the back of my flower and I stuck the leaves on the Dimensional and then set it in place on the front of the card.  And there you have it, it's all done!

This was a fun card to make and I really like playing with this layout too. I have several layouts that I think are fun and easy to work with.
