Framed for you, Thinking of You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog, Terri Gaines Stamp Set

I have always loved stamp sets with small images so I could use this layout with them.  Remember the bingo set they sold a number of years back?  I loved that one because all of it's images fit in this small space.  It allows you to showcase a small image and have that image be the entire focal point of the card.  This set was designed by Terri Gaines.  When a demonstrator hits $1,000,000 in sales they help design a stamp set that is then put in the catalog or mini catalogs.  How fun, huh?  Terri is a very talented stamper.  You can see her stuff here.  She also has a lot of videos too.  They are "raw", not edited at all.  She jumps in and just shows you how to make the card or do the technique.  As she says, "bloopers and all". I like that, it's got a genuine feel to it.

Anyway, here's today's card. I used Terri's set "Framed for You" again and I will put it away for a few days while I play with something else that's new. But rest assured, I will be using this one again, it's very fun and it has LOTS of pieces to it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Granny Apple Green card stock.  This card was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side and scored at 5-1/2".  This card opens at the bottom and is folded at the top.

My Whisper White piece as cut 3-1/2" x 4-5/8".

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the new "Flowers for Every Season" 6" x 6" stack.  It uses the five new in colors.  I don't buy the in colors unless one really hits me. Like last year's Seaside Spray and Purple Posy.  I just can't afford all the papers, inks, and markers.  So I often pass on the in colors.  Here I was able to make the DSP work with the colors I have. I made the colors I have work with the card I made on June 12th.  I cut my DSP 2-7/8" x 4".

I cut a piece of Poppy Parade card stock 3" x 4-1/8".

I lined up the DSP on top of the Poppy Parade piece. I added a tiny little dot of snail tape in the area where the circle is to be punched out.  You only need a tiny amount to hold the DSP in place while you punch.  I used a 1-1/4" circle punch.  I slid the two pieces (all lined up) into the punch, all the way to the back. I centered the sides and then I punched the circle.

I took the DSP and put a piece of copier paper behind it and punched a ring around the circle using the 2-3/8" circle punch.  I tossed the ring in recycling.

I taped the DSP to the card stock, being sure to line up the circles and the edges.

I tied a ribbon around the two pieces.  I cut my ribbon about 3-3/4" long and I taped the ends to the back.  Then I slipped more ribbon (still on the spool) under the taped ribbon and tied a knot.

I stamped the leaves from the "Framed for You" set using Granny Apple Green ink.  I did trace a circle on my Whisper White piece so I could see where to stamp the leaves.  I erased the circles once the ink was dry.  My piece measured about 2" x 2". You just need a scrap piece of Whisper White for this.

I stamped the flower from the "Framed for You" set using Mango Melody ink. I fussy cut it out.

I took the 2" x 2" piece of Whisper White card stock and I set it in place over the circle using Dimenisonals.  I had set the Dimensionals on the back of my Poppy Parade card stock.  I lined up the leaves and I pressed down to get the Dimensionals to stick.

I added the flower, centering it as best as I could.

Then I added Dimensionals to the back of the piece and set it in place on top of the 2-1/2" x 5-5/8" piece of Whisper White.  And then that Whisper White piece was taped to the Granny Apple Green card base.

I added a small pearl to the center of the flower.

The words are from the same set and I stamped them using black Memento ink.  I punched them out using the "Everyday Label" punch. I trimmed it to about 7/8" from the top center to the center of the bottom bump.  I taped this piece in place just under the ribbon.  I added a glue dot under the ribbon knot to help hold it in place and the card was done.

I just love using this layout and this card is okay. Not one of my favorite but it will do!  LOL

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
