Sending You Thoughts, Happy Birthday to You, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration

Today's card is made from leftovers!  I had time to put my February 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit together and I had parts leftover.  Some intentional and some made by me.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I punched out the Whisper White edging using the "Decorative Ribbon" border punch.

I took the striped Rococo Rose paper from the Paper Pumpkin kit.  It was supposed to me a whole card but I took that paper and I cut it in half. I didn't really like the back of the card to look like the front.  Then I ended up with three 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of this color paper. I was going to make three cards like this but I thought I would pace myself here and see what else I could come up with first.  I taped that strip to the Rococo Rose piece that I had cut 1" up on the left and 2" up on the right.  After taping the strip on, I taped the piece to the card base.  Then I trimmed each side of the card, making sure the edges of the ribbon piece were flush with the sides. I used this layout on the card I made on Thursday.

I fussy cut the cake from the "Happy Birthday to You" Sale-a-Bration set and I colored it in using the Rococo Rose ink pad cube that came with my Paper Pumpkin kit. I used my blender pen to color in the flowers.  I used my dark Daffodil Delight Blends pen to color in the center of the flowers. The Daffodil Delight light Blends for the cake frosting.  And I used the light Smoky Slate Blends pen for the cake stand. I did use my Smoky Slate marker and colored some dark areas on the cake stand. I also used my Pear Pizzazz marker for the leaves.

I stamped the words from the "Sending You Thoughts" using black Memento ink.

I took the leftover punched out circle and taped it to the front of the card on top of the Rococo Rose colored paper.  Then I set the cake in place using Dimensionals. I added some leftover sequins to the circle and the card was done.

It was fun, I like this layout and I was glad I was able to use the papers from my Paper Pumpkin kit.  So my kit now made 10 (+) cards. I still have 8 more pieces of papers to use up from the kit.  Well, knowing that now, I may just make two more of this card and move on to the next color!!  If and when I do, I will share it with you here.

Thank you so much for taking a peek today,
Wanda
