Florals in Bloom Simply Said, Pretty Florals, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a very pretty friendship card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. I did change it a bit because I didn't have the exact items used in the card. I made due with what I had. There is a video to help assemble the card but there's no measurements given so I had to wing it. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my crd is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I usually use Basic White for my base layer, mostly because I have a ton of it and I also don't have to cut a separate piece for the inside of the card. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 5-/8" x 4-1/8" piece of Petunia Pop card stock. I textured it using the "Damask Details" embossing folder.  Before gluing it to the card base, I cut a 1-1/8" strip of Basic Black card stock. I glued it at an angle on the textured piece and then trimmed the sides. Once that was done I glued the textured piece to the card base.

Next I cut the Designer Series Paper (DSP). The black piece came from the "Botanical Textures" 12" x 12" package. And for the flowered piece I uses "Florals in Bloom" 12" x 12" package. The black piece was cut at 2-1/2" x 5" and the floral piece was cut at 3" x 4".  I taped the two pieces of DSP together.

The circle is from the "Spotlight on Nature" bundle. I used the largest circle in the die set. This is retired now but I still had the bundle in my stash.  I taped it to the DSP and trimmed the right side. A 5" piece of ribbon was taped to the piece. The ends are taped to the backside. Another piece of ribbon was slipped under the taped piece and a knot was tied. I waited until the flowers were added before I trimmed the ends of the ribbon.

The flowers are from the "Florals in Bloom" DSP. There's a matching die in the "Pretty Florals" bundle for the large flower. I cut one and I fussy cut the other two flowers and leaves. I set the large flower in place using Dimensionals and I taped the other pieces in place.

I used the "hello" from the "Simply Said" set and stamped it using black Memento ink.

I glued the DSP layers to the front of the card and the card was done.

This was such a pretty card and I really like how it turned out even though it's not exactly like the original card. I just LOVE those flowers. There's not that many large flowers on the sheet of DSP but there are two sheets so I can see more cards similar to this in the near future.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
