Layering Leaves, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I'm in the need of an anniversary card. Well, not today but this weekend but I didn't want to wait until the last minute to make it. I tend to forget! Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Smoky Slate card stock for the layer. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock that was textured using the "Distressed Tile" embossing folder. I glued that to the Basic Gray piece and then I taped that to the card base.

The Basic Gray squares measure 2" x 2", I cut two of them and the Basic White squares measure 1-7/8" x 1-7/8" and I cut two of them too. I taped the two together. They were glued to the front of the card, centering them as much as I could by eyeing it.

The words are from the "Layering Leaves" set and were stamped using Smoky Slate ink and then die cut using the third largest stitched die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. They Smoky Slate layer behind it was die cut using the second largest die from the same set. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

I added some pearls to the front. I'm not fond of where I placed them but once you put them down they don't move nicely without ripping the card stock, so it is what it is.

This was a quick card to make and it's also versatile, can you see it being used as a wedding card?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,
Wanda

What a beautiful anniversary card! And yes, it would work great for a wedding card, also.

The embossed background is so elegant. Very pretty card. Sharon Armstrong had a Mystery Monday just a couple of days ago making a card with those squares. Love it!
