Sweet Strawberry, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I had seent this card on Pinterest and thought I would give it a try. I liked the background,it's what first caught my eye.  You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green. I taped this piece to the front of the card.

The next layer was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I stamped the leaves and flower image from the "Sweet Strawberry" set using Garden Green ink. I just filled the piece with the image. I taped this piece on top of the Garden Green layer.

I took a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and I stamped the words from the same "Sweet Strawberry" set using Garden Green ink. I made sure it was stamped about 2" from the bottom of the piece so I had room to die cut it with a space for the flowers. I die cut it with the second largest Stitched Circle die (retired).

I took a scrap piece of vellum and I colored it using the light Old Olive Blends pen. While it was drying I got out my circle dies and took the largest one and die cut the vellum.

There was scrap left from the word piece so I stamped three strawberries using Poppy Parade ink. I also stamped three leaves using Granny Apple Green ink.  And I stamped three flowers using Crushed Curry ink.  I used the smallest flower so I could punch it out. There's a matching punch, the "Strawberry Builder" that has the strawberry, leaf, stem and flower.  No fussy cutting here.  Though the images are easy enough to fussy cut without too much complaining!!

Once everything was punched out, I assembled the card.  I forgot to mention, the stems were punched out using Garden Green card stock, they were not stamped.  They were glued to the tops of the strawberries.

I taped the vellum circle in place. Then I set the word circld in place using Dimensionals. I didn't press down on it because I wanted to make sure I could slip some leaves under it if needed.

The strawberries were added next and then the leaves. I did remove the stems of the leaves so I could get them under the circle a bit easier. The flwoers were added and a pearl was placed in the center of each strawberry. One of my pearls had moved off the center and I didn't notice it until after I was almost done posting it.  But it's okay, it wasn't very sticky because I had handled it too much so I just took it off the petal of the flower and glued it in place.  And the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I did change it a little but for the most part it's the same.  Can one have enough birthday cards on hand?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this "sweet" birthday card,
Wanda

I love the idea of using the one stamp to make your own background! Great card! I have that paper and stamp set and haven't made many cards with it. SU has too many wonderful papers right now and I can't use them fast enough.
