Sweet Ice Cream, Birthday Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The "Sweet Ice Cream" set/bundle is another one of my great purchases. This set is great to use for both male and female adults and children. You just can't go wrong with this set. There's also fudgesicle shaped images in the set that I haven't used yet. It's on my list! I want to try to use every image in the set. I have very few sets that I can say that. Too many times I buy a set for one or two images in it.  I bought this set for the ice cream, ice cream cone, sprinkles and the happy birthday words.  But I will be using the other images sometime soon.  Hopefully before winter when ice cold ice cream on a stick isn't tempting!!! LOL  I did find this card on Pinterest. You can see the original card here. The link didn't lead to who made the card or how it was made, so here is how I did it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Gorgeous Grape card stock. a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was taped to the inside.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Highland Heather was cut for the layer. And the top Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".

I used the second largest "Stitched with Whimsy" die on the Basic White piece. I tried to get it as even all around as I could. I used a couple of small strips of post it note tape to hold it down so it wouldn't shift on me when I cut it.

Next I stamped the ice cream. On a large scrap of Basic White card stock, I used Gorgeous Grape to stamp all three of the ice creams with one inking. These are first, second and third generation stampings. Meaning, I didn't ink the stamp again, only once to get all three ice creams. I stamped Gorgeous Grape inked sprinkles on the two lighter ice creams.  Then I punched them out using the matching "Ice Cream Cone Builder" punch.

The cone was done using the Designer Series Paper "Ice Cream Corner".  There are two sheets full of tiny ice cream cones and on the backside is that wonderful cone paper. I punched out a cone. I glued the lightest ice cream to the top part of the cone. Then I glued the middle cone and then the dark one on top. I set the ice cream cone on top of the Basic White piece to see where the words were going to go.

The words were stamped using Gorgeous Grape ink and they are from the same "Sweet Ice Cream" set.

Now all the stamping was done and I was ready to assemble. I taped the Basic White piece to the Highland Heather piece and I added Dimensionals to the back. It was then set in place on top of the Gorgeous Grape card base.

The ice cream was set in place using Dimensionals. I added some light purple sprinkles to the top ice cream using glue and the sprinkles form the "Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles" container.  You can't have the set without those sprinkles!!!

I had some ribbon that matched so I used it on my card. I'm sure it's either retired or obsolete or both! But it matched close enough so I went with it.

This was a very fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the 3rd generation stamping.  Even second generation is fun too but with darker colors third is even more fun.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today to see this sweet ice cream card!
