Handsomely Suited, Masculine Birthday Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I still have my "handsomely Suited" stamp set sitting out so I thought I'd make one more card and then put the set back in the stack and grab something different to play with tomorrow.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy card stock and I used the necktie stamp and Versa Mark to add a little interest to the background.

I cut a 5" x 1-3/4" piece of Basic White card stock. I centered the tie die and ran it through my Big Shot.

Then I cut a 1-1/2" x 4-3/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Well Suited" 12" x 12" package. I added Dimensionals to the Basic White piece being careful to get them close to the tie but not so close that they show. I removed the protective backing on the Dimensionals and then turned the DSP upside down and set it on top of the Dimensionals. Normally I will do it the opposite way where I set the piece with the Dimensionals on top of the backing piece but I wanted to make sure that none of the DSP showed over the edges of the Whisper White piece.

Next I stamped the words from the same set on a scrap piece of Basic White using black Memento ink. I think Night of Navy ink might have looked better.  I die cut the piece using one of the soon to be retiring oval dies. I'm going to miss those dies and I'm hoping that Stampin' Up! has something great to replace them. So many of the words look better in an oval than a circle.  We just have to wait and see.

The card is now ready to assemble. I taped the large Night of Navy piece to the front of the card. Then I added tape to the back of the DSP tie piece and set it in place on the left side of the card. I eyed the top, left and bottom to make sure they were as equal as I could.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the word piece and set it in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. This would also make a great Father's Day card too. There are words for that in the "Handsomely Suited" stamp set.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time today to see this fun masculine card,
Wanda
