Blossoms in Bloom, Many Layered Blossoms, Birthday Card

The "Blossoms in Bloom" set is not retiring yet but I ran across this card that I just had to make. I found it here on Pinterest.  This card was a lot more work that I anticipated.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Basic Gray card stock. I cut my card stock on the 8-1/2" side so the piece measured 4-1/4" x 11" before I folded it in half.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White and I textured it with the "Subtle" embossing folder.

Then I die cut the two layers from the "Many Layered Blossoms" dies. I did use a piece of double stick paper before I die cut them. There was no way I was going to glue all of this fine detail. I used the double stick paper on both dies. After cutting them I spent some time removing the inside pieces that were not needed.

After all of the pieces were taken off, I removed the backing and set the thicker die cut piece in place on top of the Basic White piece. I looked at the finished card for placement. I also did this on top of a silicone sheet because I want to use what is going to be cut off on another card (maybe tomorrow).

I used the 4th largest "Stitched Rectangle" die from the large group of 8 dies in the package.  Now being there is three layers plus two layers of sticky stuff, the die didn't cut all the way through in parts. SO, I had to take my craft knife and carefully cut along the lines. I put in a new blade about half way through and I couldn't believe how nice it cut!!! LOL  I rarely change the blades because what I usually use the knife for doesn't matter if it's really sharp or not.  Now it's very sharp and I have to be careful in the future!

I took the center piece and I added double sided tape to the back. First I set the frame part on the card base and then fitted the rectangle piece in place. I removed the frame and added Dimensionals to the back of it.  A lot of Dimensionals. Once I removed the backing from the Dimensionals, I set the piece in place.  This was a bit tricky because you have to be very careful not to get it crooked.  I pulled it up a few times as I was setting it in place. I did not press down on the Dimensionals until I was all done because I wanted them to be easy to move if I had to.

Wiping the sweat from my brow I was ready to do the words. I stamped the words from the "Blossoms in Bloom" in the set. I stamped them on a scrap piece of Blushing Bride card stock using black Memento ink. I die cut it with the smallest long rectangle die in the same die set but it is in the group of 4 dies. The words were set in place using Dimensionals.

Three crystal rhinestones were added to the center area. A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside and the card was done.

I really like how this looks but I'm not sure I'd ever make another one. It was a lot of work, mostly the picking out of the parts that weren't needed plus removing the delicate die cut piece from the backing.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to check out today's card,
