Petal Palette, Timeless Textures, Thank You Card

Once again I have another one of those cards that looked SO much better in my head than it did on paper.

I wanted to make a card using the bird from the "Petal Palette" set (check). And I wanted my card cut off a little at the bottom (check).  It's the rest of the "checks" I had trouble with.

I took a half sheet of Whisper White card stock that was cut in half on the 8-1/2" side. I folded it in half and cut 1" off the bottom of the front of the card. I opened the card and used the image that looked kind of grainy and I stamped Crumb Cake ink on the card in a fan shape. I stamped that image starting at the left and I continued inking and stamping off once for a total of 6 times. Click on the photo so see that image closer.  It's the one closest to the birds back.  After looking at it I didn't think it was enough so I took the ferny looking image and stamped off twice and then I stamped it on my card for a total of 3 times.  Then I actually said "UGH"!  Which I think was short for "ugly"!!!  LOL

I got out the branch die from the "Petal Palette" bundle and die cut it using Pear Pizzazz.  I did cut off a few of the lower branches and placed them in the open areas.  But before I taped them in place I took some copper cord and wrapped it around my fingers to form some loops. The loops looked a lot nicer before they got tangled in the branches!!!  Helpful hit here. Make sure your loops are secure on the card before moving on to anything else!  I tried to fix them as much as I could.  Then I added the branches.  I set the die cut bird in place using Dimensionals.  I had colored the bird using the Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake Blends markers.

The words are from the "Petal Palette" set. I stamped them using black Memento ink.  And for the final touch I used some enamel dots I had to cover up some of the Crumb Cake ink that I have no idea how it got on the card. I didn't see any on my hands but it got on the card in 2 places. So I balanced out the dots by adding more.  And there you have it, something totally different than what I had in mind!!!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
