Petite Petals, Happy Happenings, Birthday Cards

I found this fun card on Pinterest.  You can see the original card here.  I made a few minor changes only because I didn't have the same materials, though I did change the color of the cardstock because I wanted to use it because it's retiring in a few days.

The base of the card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Then on top of that is a piece of Basic Black cardstock that measures 3-1/4" x 4-3/4".  The Mint Macron cardstock measures 3" x 4-1/2".

I cut a strip of Mint Macaron Decorative Paper from the 12" x 12" paper stack.  That strip measures 3" x 3/4".  I taped that piece in place and then stamped the words from the "Happy Happenings" set using Basic Black ink.

I tied some black Baker's Twine around the Mint Macaron piece.

Next I punched out the large flower using the punch that goes with the " Flower Shop" set.  I stamped the small flower from the "Petite Petals" set and punched it out.  I did have to add a piece of Whisper White cardstock behind the large punched out flower or the background would have been black.  That piece was set in place with Dimensionals.  I set that panel in place using Dimensionals.  Do not put Dimensionals on the Whisper White piece, it's already raised, just use double sided tape for that. Once the panel was in place I added the "Petite Petals" flower using a Dimensional.  The center of that flower is a pearl colored black using a Sharpie marker.

The original card used some fun decorative paper.  I didn't have any but what I did like about that paper was the black centers on the flowers.  So, I got out my Basic Black marker and colored in the centers of the solid white flowers on the decorative paper.  It helped pull in the black layer and twine together.

This was a fun and easy card to make.  I'm thinking of making a few more of these in a few of the other retiring colors, just to use up some of the supplies I still have.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
