Traveler, Guy Greetings, May 2017 Paper Pumpkin, Father's Day Card

Today I wanted to play with the "Traveler" set.  It's retiring in a few days and I just wanted to play with it one last time. Yup, that means I will be taking it off my worktable so you won't see another card made using it!!!  I am not known for removing things from my worktable right away but today I am.  It is going in a pile of sets to be photographed and put in my web store to sell.  I don't have any sets in there right now but you can check the store every now and then to see what's been added.  Look on the right sidebar where it reads "Shopping is just a click away".  Click on that and you will be taken directly to my web store.  It's not a fancy store.  It's free software so you can't expect much, but it does what I need it to do and that is what is important to me right now!

So, let's talk about this card.  The base of my card is a folded half sheet of Crumb Cake cardstock.  Then I added one of the darker pale donut circles from the May 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit.  I didn't trim the one side very well, it's where it's attached to another donut.  Like I said before, I try to use the pieces in the kit and I cut them in half and I still have as many pieces as I stared with!!!  LOL Anyawy, I hid that uneven part where I cut the pieces apart.  Next I cut a 1-3/4" x 4-3/4" piece of one of the striped bags from the Paper Pumpkin kit.  I layered it with a 5" x 2" piece of Soft Suede.

I stamped the train using Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla cardstock.  I cut it with the stitched oval die. Then I die cut a scalloped oval.  I wasn't going to go with the scalloped because I thought it might look a little bit feminine but I think it looks fine.  The oval that would have been big enough was just a bit too big for the look I wanted in this card.  There would have been a really large part of the Soft Suede showing around the train.

The words are from the "Guy Greetings" set.  I stamped them using Soft Suede ink and I trimmed it to fit (which really means, that I didn't measure.  I just eyed it with the cutter and then set it on a piece of Soft Suede and eyed that layer too).

I set the train and the words in place using Dimensionals and that was it.  Super easy, quick and fun!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
