The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Early Espresso card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is at the top.
I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.
On the front I cut a 5-3/8" x 4-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Autumn Toile" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the bottom of the card, leaving a 1/8" border.
For the upper part of the card I taped a 5-3/8" x 2-7/8" piece of Cajun Craze card stock.
The panels were done next. The DSP is from the same "Autumn Toile" package and they were cut at 2-1/2" x 1". I cut the piece at 2-1/2" x 4" and cut 1" strips because I wanted to keep the scene. The strips were layered on top of a 2-1/4" x 1-1/4" pieces of Early Espresso.
After taping the strips together, I taped them to the front of the card. I taped the two end pieces first and then the center two.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Cajun Craze ink. I cut them out using the "Labeled with Love" dies and at the same time I cut the Early Espresso layer using the same dies. I cut the Early Espresso piece in half and taped each piece to the back of the word piece. Dimensionals were aded to the back and it was set in place using Dimenisonals. And the card was done. I didn't want to add any ribbons or embellishments because it's a masculine card and I wanted to keep it plain. Plus I wanted the scene to show.
This was fun to make because it had layers and I LOVE making cards with layers. It just seems to keep the eye moving across the card.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's masculine birthday card,
Wanda
