Free As a Bird, Itty Bitty Greetings, Mother's Day Card

Here's the Mother's Day card I made for my mom.  I thought I'd better get it done and off in the mail so she gets it before Sunday. Mail service has been rather quick lately, so I'm sure she will get it on time.  I had sent out a package on  a Monday a couple of weeks ago and the recipient got it on Wednesday!  That's fast for first class!  She was impressed.  Anyway, I found this card on Pinterest. I was looking for something I could color yet something that was quick and easy.  You can see the original card here.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Seaside Spray card stock.

On top of that is a 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" piece of Seaside Spray card stock that was textured using the "Subtle" embossing folder. I taped this piece to the front of the card.

I stamped the birds from the "Free As a Bird" set using black Memento ink.  I die cut it out using the "Stitched Nested Labels" dies.

I used my Blends pens to color the image.  The birds were colored in using light and dark Seaside Spray.  The flowers were colored in using light and dark Petal Pink. The leaves were done using both light and dark Old Olive and the branch was colored in using both light and dark Crumb Cake.

Next I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Greetings" set using black Memento ink.

After coloring, I set the piece in place using Dimensionals.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This is such a fun set to play with. I love the versatility of it.  It worked for a Mother's Day card and I think it would be great for birthdays, thinking of you, and friendship. I can see myself making this again using different wording.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by and have a look today,
Wanda
