The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.
I cut a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and textured it using the "Damask Designs" embossing folder. I chose 2" because the piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package measured 3" x 5-1/4". I wanted to use that piece of DSP but it didn't cover the whole front of the card. So I thought the Lost Lagoon card stock would make up the difference. But first it needed some texture.
I glued the textured piece in place first and then the DSP was glued on top of that.
This piece of DSP had a nice open space on the right for some wording. Using Basic White card stock I stamped the words from the "Simply Said" set using Gorgeous Grape ink. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Then I used a 1-7/8" circle die (retired) for the layer. I taped the two layers together, added Dimensionals to the back and set the piece in place on the front of the card.
I added a couple of brass butterflies to the front and the card was done.
It's a simple card but has a nice look to it. I was glad I was able to use up that piece of DSP.
Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship/note card,
Wanda
