September 2018 Paper Pumpkin, Halloween Card

Here is one of my favorite layouts. I like it because it allows me to use those smaller images.  See how the layout highlights that small pumpkin from the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. On top of that is a 3-1/4" x 4-3/8" piece of Whisper White card stock.

I cut a 3" x 4-1/8" piece of Lemon Lime Twist card stock and on top of that is a 2-7/8" x 4" piece of the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Toil & Trouble" 12" x 12" pack.  I thought the dotted Lemon Lime Twist DSP was perfect for this card.

To make the holes line up evenly, you use a little repositionable tape to hold the pieces in place.  I try to tape them in the area where I will be punching the circle out.  Your first punch is the 1-1/4" circle. I drop the taped layers down to the bottom of the punch and line up the sides as best as I can. If you want to make sure it's perfectly centered, you will want to punch out a circle of scrap and then lightly trace the circle onto the DSP and then punch through the layers.  You don't have to erase the pencil marks because you will be punching the DSP circle larger.  I used the 1-3/8" circle punch with a piece of scrap copier paper under the DSP so the DSP won't crush, rip or pinch the circle ring punching it will form. You are learning from my mistake!!  Once the holes are punched you can line up the layers and tape them together.

I tied the black and silver Baker's twine around the panel a couple of times and added some Dimensionals to the back.  Make sure you add Dimensionals around the circle area too.

I took a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and I stamped the pumpkin.  I colored the stem with the Early Espresso marker and I colored in the eyes with the Daffodil Delight marker. Remove the Dimensionals around the circle and center the pumpkin and set it in place.

The words are also from the September 2018 Paper Pumpkin kit and were stamped using black Memento ink. I die cut them with the smallest oval die and I die cut an oval scallop to go behind it.  I set the words in place using Dimensionals too.

Remove the Dimensionals from the back of the focal panel and set that in place on top of the Whisper White piece.  Then tape that piece to the card base.  Add a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside and you are done!!!

Fun, wasn't it?

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
