Halloween Hello

I just can't seem to get enough of that Washi tape!  It's such fun to play with and it can help you whip up a card in no time!  I did see somewhere on the net (probably in Pinterest) that you can make your own.  The technique was familiar to me because I have used it in some of my clay pieces.  For the clay I just took a piece of clay and used liquid clay to get my printed piece of paper to stick to it.  I then baked the clay and when it cooled I dampened the paper and sluffed it off the clay. The same type of sluffing thing is done when making your own Washi tape.  You take your decorative paper or stamped paper and lay it face down on the sticky side of some transparent tape.  Then you wet the paper and sluff it off.  But with this technique you will have to add some sticky to your handmade Washi tape.  Your tape will have that transparent look to it like the store bought stuff has.

Anyway, today we are using the "real" stuff so we don't have to spend any extra time making tape.  But now you know how to do it!!!

For my card I took a quarter sheet of Whisper White and used the Dotted embossing folder on it.  Then I trimmed it to 4" x 5-1/4".  I added my Washi tape.  I started with the black strip and then I added the orange.  I also used my bone folder to press the tape in place.  I wanted to flatten down all the dots under the tape.  They still stick up a little but not as much as they did before the flattening.

Next I stamped the skull from the "Halloween Hello" set.  I used Black StazOn.  I like that stuff a lot.  It dries fast and has a crisp look to it.  I used the 1-1/4" circle and punched it out.  Then I used the 1-3/8" circle and punched a piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock.  And then the Basic Black scallop.  I taped those three layers together and set them in place on the card using Dimensionals.  Then I set the dotted piece in place using Dimensionals too.  And that was it.  Super easy and super quick!  I'm hoping that Stampin' Up! comes up with some birthday and wedding Washi tape.  Wouldn't that be fun?

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
