Cutest Crew, Wild Bunch, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a fun birthday card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and just had to make it. I LOVE the birds from the "Cutest Crew" bundle. The cats and dogs are cute too but I tend to be drawn to the birds. When I saw the card on Pinterest I got out my set and began. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 6-1/4" piece of Hydrangea Hue card stock for the largest layer.  I didn't want to make mine a fun fold so I just cut the pieces to fit the front.

On the left I cut a 2-1/2 x 3-3/4" piece of Basic White and stamped the flowers on it from the "Cutest Crew" bundle using Hydrangea Hue ink. Then I sponged the edges and tapped the sponge on the whole piece. I am SO loving that color. I think it's one I will get a lot of use out of and won't get tired of it. I taped this piece to the left side of the large layer.

On the right I cut a piece of Basic White card stock that measured 2-1/4" x 3-3/4". I stamped the little birdie feet on it using Crushed Curry ink. I think the original color is Golden Glow but I don't have that color yet. Crushed Curry was so close that I was able to get by with it.  Though it doesn't matter what color is used, who's going to know it's not an exact match? LOL. I had taken the feet out of the set a bit too early and I couldn't find them when it was time to use them. I did manage to get a space on my worktable cleaned off before I found the little feet.  I hate it when that happens and I never lean not to take out all of the images I need at one time. Once the feet were stamped I taped the piece in place on the right side of the large layer.

In the center of the card I taped a strip of Hydrangea Hue card stock that was leftover from trimming the large piece. I glued it in place since it was so slim. I didn't want it moving on me or whom ever receives the card.

The birds were stamped next using black Memento ink because I can't find my Basic Black hybrid pad. I'm sure it's under some more stuff on my worktable or perhaps I actually put it away and I just need to go look over where the ink pads are kept. But for now I used the Memento one. I colored my birds using the new "Hydrangea Hue" shimmer brush. The birds have a little sparkle to them. To get the darker color on them I just colored over the area again. Simple as that. The beaks and feet were colored in using Daffodil Delight and the grass was colored in using Soft Sea Foam. I cut them out using the matching die. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.

Using the "Stylish Shapes I used the second largest square on Basic White card stock. The layer behind it was cut at 2-1/2" x 2-1/2". If you don't have the die you can cut that Basic White piece at 2-1/4" x 2-1/4".

The words are from the "Wild Bunch" set. They were the perfect size for that space. I stamped them using the black Memento ink.

The birds were added next. Dimensionals were added to the back of the square piece and it was set in place on the center of the card and the card was done.

This was such a fun card to make. It was a pretty quick card to make if you didn't count the time I spent searching for the birdie feet!  LOL I can't wait to play with the birds again, maybe next time I'll take out one stamp at a time!  I think this card is great for adults and kids!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
