Countryside Inn, Lasting Joy, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy card for you to make. I thought I'd work on something quick because I seem to be running late the last few days. I have plans for other cards that are not quite as quick and have more layers. I do so love cards with lots of layers. Keep checking back or sign up on the right sidebar to get daily updates. Yes, daily! Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy for the layer. Then I cut a 303/4" x 5" piece of Basic White for the top layer. I textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  I glued it to the Night of Navy piece. As I have stated in the past, I like to glue the textured pieces because tape doesn't seem to make enough contact to stay put but glue will stay.

After the layers were glued and taped together I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package at 2" x 3-3/4" and I glued it to the top of the textured piece about 1/2" from the edge of the white piece.

Next I stamped the words from the "Lasting Joy" set using Night of Navy ink on a piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut it using the 2-1/8" circle die from the "Layering Circles" set.  I made sure I die cut the words towards the bottom of the circle.

Then I stamped the Night of Navy flowers using the images from the "Lasting Joy" set. For the leaves I stamped off once and then on the circle piece.

I didn't have any current ribbon but I did have some Night of Navy ribbon. I cut two 2" trips and I taped them to the back of the circle. Then I snipped the ends.  The circle was then set in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

And for the final touch I colored some crystal rhinestones using my dark Night of Navy Blends pen and set them in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

I do like how it turned out. It's quick and simple with a little touch of elegance.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

Blue is my favorite color so I am loving the Countryside Inn dsp. Your card is very pretty and the addition of the ribbon is just the right finishing touch.
