Cutest Halloween, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I was looking to make a clean and simple Halloween card but yet kid friendly.  Being I bought the "Cutest Halloween" set, I was just fine with the kid friendly part!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card was cut in half on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding at 5-1/2".

I had a strip of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Cute Halloween" 6" x 6" stack.  It was left over from another project and it measured 4-1/4" x 7/8".  I cut a 4-1/4" x just a little over 1". I didn't want to cut at 1-1/8" because it would be too wide. It's more like 1/16" if you need a number. I taped the DSP to the card stock and I set it aside.

The spider web is from the "Frightful Tags" dies. I cut it from a piece of Basic Black card stock.

I set the strip on the card and the spider web to the left so I could see where the spider was going to go. I set the spider from the "Cutest Halloween" in my Stamparatus and stamped it using black Memento ink. I stamped it three times to get it nice and solid. I drew the line in with a black pen.

I set the words and the candy corn in my Stamparatus and stamped both of them at the same time. I had to stamp the candy corn twice and the words three times.  I colored the top part of the candy corn in using my Daffodil Delight marker.

Now I was ready to assemble. I added a dot of glue to the center of the spider web and I set it in place making sure to line up the web with the spider line. You can click on the photo to enlarge it but I don't think you will be able to see the sparkle. I didn't catch the light right.

The DSP strip was taped on top of the upper part of the web. The top of the strip is about 1-1/8" from the top of the card.  Then I took some glue and a toothpick and touched a little bit of glue on the tips of the web to hold it down.

I felt the card still needed something so I bet you can guess what I did.  Yup, I grabbed my Wink of Stalla pen and colored the web in. It added a nice touch.

This was a very fun clean and simple Halloween card to make. If I were to make another one, I think I would use colored card stock for the base and tape the white on the top. I think the card could use a colored border.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop by and see today's Halloween card,
Wanda
