Framed For You, Poppy Moments, Thinking of You Card, 2020-2021 Stampin' Up! Catalog

Today's card came from here. I thought it was so pretty that I had to give it a try. I didn't have the new watercolor paper but I still had some retired stuff so I used that instead. I'm using what I have first.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Cherry Cobbler card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock was taped to the front of the card.

The flower was cut from watercolor paper using the "Poppy Moments" dies. I also die cut the framed flower image using the gold foil card stock. The flower center was cut using Basic Black card stock. I cut the larger center and I cut two of the smaller centers and I glued them all together.

The flower was colored in using an Aqua Painter and inkers. I first colored the entire piece with watered down Daffodil Delight ink.  Then I covered it with Cherry Cobbler watered down ink.  And then I colored the edges using Cajun Curry watered down ink.  I heat set it to dry.  Then I glued the gold foil piece to the watercolor piece.  The black center was glued on.

The leaves are from the "Poppy Moments" dies and were cut using Mossy Meadow card stock. I cut two.

I embossed a 1-3/8" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder.  I didn't have the folder that was used on the original card so I used what I had. It worked!

The word strip was cut at 5-3/4" x 3/4".  I punched the left end using the "Triple Banner" punch. The piece didn't fit in the slot because it was too small, so I just eyed it to make sure it was as centered as possible. Then I stamped the words from the words from the "Framed for You" set using black Memento ink.

The embossed Whisper White piece was taped on the front of the card and then the word strip.

The leaves were taped in place and the flower was added using Dimensionals.

I didn't have the rhinestones that were used on the original card so I used some enamel dots I had. I could have colored some rhinestones but since I needed to mail this card I thought the enamel dots would go through the mail better.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White card stock was added to the inside and the card was finished.

This was a fun card to make. I have not done watercoloring with ink in a long time. I do like how it turned out. It's one of those things that are kind of hard to ruin. Worst think that could happen is it would one solid color. Not a bad think it would still be pretty after you add the gold detail piece. So why not give it a try? What have you got to lose?

Thank you SO much for taking the time to stop by today,
Wanda
