Under My Umbrella, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I found this card on Pinterest and as I was making it  I kept thinking, "have I made this card before?"  Well, yes and no.  You can see the original card (today's card) here.  And you can see the card I thought was this one here.  They layout is the same, the color is different.

The base of this card is a folded half-sheet of Pool Party card stock.  This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I had cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of the "So Very Vellum" 12" x 12" paper that was free during Sale-a-Brations.  I hardly used any of it and when I saw this card I decided to make it so I could try to use up some more. I hadn't even touched the Pool Party color in the package. You get two sheets of each color and I had not even used one of the two of Pool Party.  I taped this piece to a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Pool Party card stock. I was going to use Whisper White because the vellum needed to be more stable but the Whisper White made the vellum look washed out.

I die cut the stitched rectangle using the "Stitched So Sweetly" dies.  I used the largest one on Whisper White card stock.

I stamped the raindrops on from the "Under My Umbrella" set using Pool Party ink.

I stamped the umbrella, umbrella handle, boots and two sets of flowers from the same set using black Memento ink.  I was able to punch out the umbrella and the handle but I had to fussy cut the boots and flowers.

I colored the images in using my light and dark Real Red Blends pens.  The leaves were colored in using the light Old Olive Blends pen.

I glued the handle to the umbrella and then just set it on the front of the Whisper White piece so I could see where to add the words. The words are from the same set and they were stamped using black Memento ink.

I added Dimensionals to the umbrella and boots and set them in place on the Whisper White piece.

I tied a red ribbon around the vellum piece. Actually, I cut the ribbon an inch longer on each end and taped the ends to the back of the vellum piece with scotch tape.  I tied a bow and set it aside.

I set the Whisper White piece in place using Dimensionals and then I used two small glue dots to set the bow in place.

I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White to the inside of the card and the card was done.

I like the look of this card but I think I like the other one I had made on March 22nd better.

Thank you SO much for taking the time to visit today,
Wanda
