Positive Thoughts, Wonderful Moments, Birthday Card, 2020 Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog

I have been having some fun with the "Positive Thoughts" set, but not enough fun! I have not played with it as much as I would like to.  So today I took it out and thought I would make my mom's birthday card a bit early.  I'm still ahead of my card making. I have yet to be late with one so far this year!  It was one of my goals to be on top of the cards. I even have 1/4 of our Christmas cards done for this year too! Another goal of mine. I'm trying to get some of the things out of the way that take up a lot of time during the holidays.  Christmas card making is one of them.  No one will care if I send them a card from an expired stamp set. And after I let that sink in, I started making some Christmas cards!  Just trying to ease the stress of the holidays.  I hope it works.

Today's card is a very simple one.  The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.

I die cut the pierced edge rectangle piece using Whisper White card stock.  I set it on my cutter and cut the Old Olive layer 1/4" larger.

I stamped the ferny leaf from the "Positive Thoughts" set using Old Olive ink on Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the image three times but only inked the image once.

I stamped the words from the "Wonderful Moments" set using Mossy Meadow ink.

I stamped the flower from the "Positive Thoughts" set using a scrap piece of Whisper White card stock and Rococo Rose ink. I die cut the flower using the "Nature's Thoughts" dies. I LOVE it when a stamp set comes with matching dies.

I taped the pierced edge Whisper White piece to the Old Olive rectangle and then I taped that to the card base.

I took some silver thread and wrapped it around three fingers five times.  I added some snail tape to where I thought the flower was going to be set.  I put the thread on that tape and spread out the loops a bit.

I added Dimensionals to the back of the flower and set that in place over the threads.

I added a larger pearl to the center of the flower and three smaller ones to the ferny area of the card.  And the card was done.

This is a very quick and easy card to make.  I would like to try another one but use the beautiful butterfly instead of the flower.  And maybe another one using both!  Now I have plans for future cards using this set!!!

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today.  Stay well.
