Birthday Delivery, Birthday Card

What on earth was I thinking??? LOL  I found this fun card on Pinterest.  I thought it would be fun to do. I was assuming that most of the stuff was die cut.  The only thing on the original card that was die cut was the girl.  I picked a different cake so I could die cut it.  I didn't have it in me to cut out another piece!!! Don't get me wrong, I do like the card, I just would NEVER make another one due to all the fussy cutting.

I had to fussy cut the 3 packages, the party hat and the balloon.  Once I got those cut, I die cut the girl and the cake.

I stamped the words from the "Birthday Delivery" set  using Night of Navy ink.

I took a 5" x 2-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped the words on using Sahara Sand ink.  I used the stitched oval to cut them out and a scalloped oval that was large enough to make a layer behind the work oval. That oval was cut using Crumb Cake card stock.  I put Dimensionals on the back and I taped a piece of ribbon behind the ovals (I trimmed the ends after I was done assembling the card).

The piece behind it is from the "Birthday Memories" Decorative Series Paper (DSP) 12" x 12" pack that I cut 4-1/4" x 3-1/2".  The other items I fussy cut out were from this same DSP pack.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. On top of that I taped the DSP piece on top.  Then the Whisper White sheet.  I set the cake in place using Dimensionals.  And then the little girl was set in place with Dimensionals.  I added a small Dimensional to the hat and placed it on the girls head.  The packages were taped down. I did have to lift the corner of the cake to add the blue package.  I decided to add the balloon. I fussy cut it out and set it in place using a Dimensional.  I tied a piece of Baker's Twine to the balloon.  I had taken my scissors and curled the twine, just like you do with curling ribbon but you don't open the scissors. I did add a dot of glue to the knot and a dot to the DSP to hold that circular curl in place.  Putting it together was fun but not so much the fussy cutting.  I do like the card and it will be fun to give it to someone special for their birthday!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
